this extension is apparently useless it doesn't show any functionality

Just awful overall system and now doesn't work at all. You follow the directions to join a webinar meeting and all you get is a blank page with the Webex logo in the upper left corner. Given how easy it is to use Teams, Zoom, Meet and Go To this is ridiculous and should be a corporate embarrassment for Cisco

Why don't other video conferencing platforms like Teams require installations of (1) browser extension AND (2) a Windows software but still be able to provide the same functionalities? Also, why does this software change "Show window contents while dragging" setting of my Windows OS? How do I know if it is not doing some other hacks on my computer?

It's insane that webex needs a privileged extension to do what all other providers can do right in the browser.

Anyone who has used the internet or video conferencing software for longer than 15 minutes knows that the only reason for a mentally sound person to choose Webex over Teams/Zoom is because they are being forced to or funneled into it by Cisco themselves. This extension is just another way to access their garbage video conferencing service. Oh wait, its actually not that at all! Go ahead, add this extension to chrome wait a few seconds and read that popup! Guess what!? You have to DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL WebEx. I'm not sure what the managers at Cisco are smoking, but it's gotta be some really strong stuff.

I had over a year of constant microphone issues with this and the web version on all my laptops before I tracked the issues down to disabling Cortana in Windows 10 when setting my laptops up. Every time I get it working, the next Windows update will break it and result in another totally embarrassing connection attempt. Doing a dual phone call ends with severe feedback even when the laptop speakers are off and the microphone "doesn't work" and is muted anyways. So only a 3 for all the frustration and appearing incompetent. Otherwise it is one of the better I've used.

Why do I need this. Other platforms don't need a extension.

First I installed Webex in Ubuntu 18.04, it's working fine but thing is I can neither see messages nor send comments so I thought of this extension. both are rubbish I am frustated with this. when I tried to join from web webex it is saying link is invalid, imagine how frustating it is...! any solution please other than installing windows in my system

Trash. Add on does not work for mac. Had to go to chrome. App quality on chrome trash too. Trash idea, trash company.

It worked fine before and now it's forcing me to install this, but it doesn't work....

I can't see any of the recordings! I asked the host but it works alright on his end. It keeps telling me the app encountered a problem and needs to close. The FAQ are not helpful at all!

The WORST - I have to reboot my computer every time I need to visit a site that requires this extension, even though it shows active/turned on. I am not alone in my frustrations, as I can see from these reviews.

The only entities I know of that use this platform are government related, which makes me think they only exist because of government contracts and possibly nepotism. Requiring audiences to connect to an online Web meeting through phone audio is ridiculous.

This plugin didn't work at all, it just kept loading forever. I also tried the temporary application method but that didn't work either and also kept loading forever. I was finally able to join using the "join by browser" method, but with that, the audio didn't connect so I had to phone in to get the audio. I've never had these issues with Zoom, Google Meets, or Microsoft Teams.

Horrible. Doesn't work on chrome. It just stays stuck on a loading wheel for an eternity. The download application doesn't work either. It just doesn't load. I always end up using my phone

Using Chrome; I can test my headset with AUdio and video fine. As soon as I connect to a Webex session my audio is no functional. Just displays 'connecting....'. I have to use the phone for Audio. Interestingly I clicked on the link so many times and one of the sessions started to provide audio over my USB headset. I don't have any issues with TEAMS, Zoom or Gotomeetings with my USB Audio headset.

yes. it really work and there away to start...if you going to download you see website on it. click on it will start ask to sign up for free and sign it and give detail, etc. Then you sent code for the on the site and then you and got to get in...I will love to help out. Trust i try to many time and I got in...

I found this web extension really easy to access and use. I did not experience any lag or technical difficulties either. 100% recommend!!!

The whole webex user experience gets worse every time I use it, and this extension is just one more symptom. I open the webex app on my mac, enter the meeting info, and it insists on opening a browser, and getting me to install a plugin I don't want, so that it can open the webex app. All of this is of course only because they crippled their browser-implementation, so that they can force people to install their app.

It sucks. It will kick you out in the mid of the meeting. Any other meeting software (zoom, google meet, microsoft team, skype) are better than it. AVOID IT!

What is the point of installing an extension that does not work? You try to access it and time and time again all it does is just take you to the chrome web store. I change it to "allow on all sites" and even then it only works while on the signin.webex.com page. Like what is the point??? Remove the extension and allow either just web access or a computer application, wasted an hour of my life only to call in to the meeting.

webex training session cannot be attended using any of your pc apps and using ur webex training interface is too bad. attendees are unable to change the background kindly make that option available on the web for webex training session

Probably the most contrived application of this type that I had the displeasure to use. Unwieldy, slow, convoluted UI, can't handle regional characters in chat (default shortkeys can't be changed, so for example instead of writing "ą" I clear my chat input window). Shame on Cisco releasing and never fixing this rubbish app - great way to damage your brand.

Christ, what horribly planned choices. If you are a first time user looking to quickly join a meeting, forget about it. Just reschedule it on Zoom or Hangouts or Teams or something. Save yourself the headache. It took the Webex application 20 minutes to download whatever it was doing the first time I launched it when I needed it quickly to join a meeting. Product & use-case design guys!

Hello everyone. If you have an antivirus like avast, you will be able to see what has malicious activity or not. This chrome extension is a scam and will put malware on your chrome browser, or your computer. If you open up task manager, you might find cisco webex taking up 20-50% of your cpu. If you scan your computer using malwarebytes, you can see the total amount of PUPs (possibly unwanted files) and other viruses. Most likely, there will be trojans, Ad-Adware, EndGame, FireEye and many more. If you are experiencing problems like this, use malwarebytes, and remove the viruses. Stay safe everyone, and hopefully this helped you for further notice.

I like it but some time in cisco webex if I click virtual Background it shows that you can"t use virtual background because your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements

It's like Cisco has never used Zoom, Meet, or any other web conference software. On the one hand, this software is garbage (even the desktop client for my Mac sucks). There is no attention to UI, no consistency across different conference types, few options, and a lot of things that can't change (as a user, I can't stop the beeping when people come and go - and, the PARTICIPANTS pane pops up automatically when someone enters/leaves - AND the chat focuses on the most recent message, so if I'm catching up on the feed, I have to constantly scroll up if a new message comes in). The worst part - and this isn't related to the extension - is scheduling meetings. There is no worse scheduling experience. I can't even begin to articulate how awful the UX is when scheduling meetings. Now, on to the extension review. It. Is. AWFUL. I have a top of the line Pixelbook with 8GB RAM. And even from a cold start, Webex lags on my Chromebook (I'm pulling down 200+ mbps on my wifi, so that isn't the issue). I think Webex just blows. I expect so much more from Cisco - you're really letting us down. ================ My institution uses Webex, so I have to use it for web conferencing. It's the only thing I do where I don't use my Chromebook. Where possible, I use Zoom or Google Meet.

Takes multiple minutes to start a simple meeting. Also requires bloatware.

This extension just tries to launch the desktop WebEx app from the browser. If you have a Chromebook, or simply don't want to install the desktop app, you don't want this extension. When you click a WebEx meeting link, wait a few seconds and a link should appear on the page with "Join from your browser", which does not require the app and works well from Chrome, at least on Windows and Chrome OS.

Still no support for Linux/Opera ... Your operating system or browser doesn't support the Webex Meetings app. Sign in on a Windows or Mac computer to download the app... Shame.

No control option.... on 2021.... really? this dont have a presentation what do you need for a linux app and web app working.... this century.

I already have it installed and it still gives me the screen to add webex to chrome. I followed the steps and yet it is still giving me an issue. I am not able to view the recordings for my school. It is a bit frustrating. I am trying every possible angle and still it failed me :( I never had an issue viewing the recordings before. I just started my next course and it is giving me a headache of not wanting to work.

Trash Extension, it caused my computer to crash, andI couldnt get back into it for several hours. use zoom. Zoom is easier and less resource intensive.

This extension doesn't seems to work on any linux system. I tried it in ubuntu, elementary OS, openSUSE, manjaro. Nothing worked. Cisco company develops software only for windows and mac, I think so. They don't support linux community.

It keeps downloading a .dmg file even though I am on linux not on mac! It would have been more reasonable to just ask for operating system instead of just assuming incorrectly!

Supposed to be adding the plugin to Google Chrome, but nothing happening, when clicking enable this function doesn't work therefore i cannot connect to a meeting with Webex anymore with my laptop. Loss of time

1st time user. I joined a meeting through a link from the chrome browser but the audio keeps connecting and failed (But all the local settings and hardware works just fine). I did everything from windows audio setting, and registering a new Webex account, installing windows app, but unfortunately failed to join the same meeting. I can't find the same way to join using the same link through the Webex windows app. It looks like it using a different method. Google it, but still can't find the right method to fix audio issue. Got the meeting number, but can't connect for whatever reason I don't understand. Until the meeting almost end 1 hour later. Screw it! I gave up and just watch others talking. Never use Webex again. Only if there are no other options left on earth.

Why would you honestly choose this service over something like Discord? or even Zoom for a matter of fact. Multiple issues with the platform; audio devices not showing or being found, constant crashes on the browser and application, text going off the screen for prompt boxes. Summed up this is a mess, it hasn't been developed to a standard which would be considered useable. It's been rushed together to try and gain an audience from online video calls as of recent. Avoid if you wish to have a professional meeting with limited effort.

Like many others, when I click on a webex link it tries to re-download the extension which is already on my browser and then does not work.

Does not work!!!! This works better on Windows, not Chromebook. Chromebook - get this fixed! I can't see more than 6 people; the participant list is not on the side but right in the middle which is not helpful as it blocks the participant's faces, AND why do I have to install an extension?! It should just come up like it does on Windows.

Doesn't work well at all, clicking the meeting link installing, won't open correct meeting. Clicking the link again now with the extension already installed, loads an empty new meeting again.

I don't know why people are protesting against WebEx ,but my opinion is WebEx just works amazing, sometimes people who are using WebEx might have internet problem that does not make WebEx a bad meeting app ??.

i loved it i have been using webex for my online classes it was okay and sometimes it has problem it will vibrating and extension did not work i need to install a proper app

Near the tail end of 2020 this still does not work. I suspect it isn't even a chrome specific issue, my coworkers could not access work materials through their Apple devices. Just use anything else, this does not work. It doesn't even open and just sends me to the chrome store to find a compatible app. Just look at the other reviews.

This extension never works, I don't know why Lecture/Event companies are still using it. I don't know of a single peer that doesn't encounter issues every time they use it.

Doesn't work after running the "test" option. Test option worked great, popped up a secondary window showing the meeting. Closed everything out then tried to log in to the actual/live meeting later the same day and can't get past "Step 2 of 2". Keeps prompting me to download the Extension, which I've already done and is showing active/enabled. Attempts to use the temporary application don't work, either. Missed out on a 4-hour training that I'd been looking forward to for over a month because neither this add-on/application, nor the temporary one will work. Very frustrating.

Froze all my other tabs and chrome windows... after restarting chrome and trying to join again, it created a window (ghost) that wouldn't do anything but was always on top and then went directly to not responding. i tried the full install beforehand, which was even worse by causing browser issues (why, not sure), but also was a TSR by installing itself as a service... why? and the permissions required??? honestly, i have no idea what they are doing. i have to use it one way or another for some school functions. this goes against everything i've been learning about cybersecurity.

Wow, with so many apps for web meetings these days, the installation of this one was just HORRIBLE. And this is for a technical user. took 10 minutes to battle through the setup and join the meeting. Wow.

Very very bad audio. The browser version was at least better. but once extension was installed there is no way I can open up the browser version anymore. Not an application that I would use if I were to be the one presenting. Very disappointing.
