Love this extension, but within the past two weeks, Meet Transcript was truncating the entire transcript into the first speaker. Please fix!

Good: I tried so many different note-taking apps both paid and unpaid, and this was the simplest and the best. Better than otter, noty, laxis, scribbl, firefly, native google transcripts. Here is why: 1) It doesn't need a "bot" added to the room like many services. This means others don't know that you are are using the service unless you tell them. 2) Unlike many others, this extension creates the google doc in real-time not just at the end of the call. This is nice, because (A) I can see that it's working and (B) chat the google doc link with other people in the meeting while we are there rather than emailing it to them afterward or going through the transcription's site's portal. 3) The google docs are named after the meeting's name in the calendar. Others have to be exported to google docs via their portal, or saved in google docs with the meeting id ("abc-defg-hij") which is very unhelpful when searching for the correct transcript. Bad: The extension stopped working for me last week and when I tried to uninstall and reinstall, google would not let me reconnect the extension with google drive. The oauth said "request invalid". I wish the author would fix, I would pay for this app.

Best transcriber on the web, no joke! I run an online language school, and this is a very integral part of our operations. Had trouble today with the OAuth. Hopefully, the developer can fix it!

Same problem as below. When trying to connect it to gdrive, it says "Access blocked: Meet Transcript’s request is invalid" :-( . Otherwise was excellent.

I'm having the same problem. Meet Transcript has been a great extension and I truly appreciate that the developer has offered it for free! Hopefully the issue will get resolved. Until then, which alternatives are people using?

Liked it but it stopped working. Uninstalled and installed again now when I connect drive folder to it but it throws error. Developer plz fix the bug so people can start using this again.

Stopped working suddenly. Was my favorite extension until recently. Switching to another.

It worked on a few meetings and then it stopped working. The logo disappeared from the meeting and it won't record the transcription anymore. After removing and reinstalling, the google blocks access.

We started using Meet Transcript for all our work meetings in January 2022, and it's been fantastic. Previously, despite most meeting being held virtually as our company operates all over the state, we had someone manually typing minutes for everything. Meet Transcript has been perfect - it copies everything down, even a sneeze, and we just need to do a quick skim over the document after to fix any minor translation issues (generally, company-specific nicknames). We also love that anyone who has the extension can take these notes, it makes it much more versatile than one person needing to attend a million meetings just for minutes. This extension is a real LIFE SAVER! A must have for any person wanting to transcribe the Meetings in any Language currently available in Google Meet - I've already tested it in Portuguese and English. I've been using it to transcribe some YouTube videos I need to translate, works better than using the Automatic Translator on YouTube ? A big thank you for the developer! ?

Such a great tool. I have gotten so much use out of it. Thanesh was also very responsive and fixed the missing Transcript button that disappeared suddenly. The latest 3.1.10 version fixes that problem! Thanks Thanesh!

Have really enjoyed this. Has come in handy a lot. The only downside if the need to keep the captions going during the call, but that's worth it.

A fantastic add-on that makes great use of the Google Meet captions functionality, giving me the opportunity to review the transcript of any meetings I've attended, after the event! I really like the way you can set the captions to not be visible, as I find this very distracting. Also, the developer has been very responsive and quick to fix any issues that came up! It would be preferable if it didn't default to the Cambria typeface (Verdana would seem to be the best option within Google docs - still has serifs on a capital 'i', but is otherwise a low-detail font), but it's not a huge issue to select all and then change the font manually.

Being hearing impaired makes CC essential on my MEET calls. I work with a diverse group of people with different microphone setups, and frankly I cannot hear a couple of them. I found having a transcript of the CC is equally beneficial. I use this extension daily and love it.

Simple, easy to use, and the dev is very responsive to issues and feedback.

This is a wonderful add-on, and the developer is really kind, he actually answers to your problems. Works as promised.

Hello All, I posted a review a few days ago because the Meet Transcript wasn't functioning properly at all ... wasn't providing time stamp, identifying the speakers, and the entire google meet was one long paragraph. I am happy to say that I've that review has since been deleted, as I received a response from the publisher who indicated that the bugs are out... so true. I used Meet Transcript again today in Southern California - in a long, long meeting and I am happy to say that it's working great. I'm giving it 4 stars today, until the next meeting to see if it withstand the corrections during that transcribing. Thanesh, Meet Transcript author, took the time to actually personally respond to me in this forum, and addressed the issue and suggested a download of v3.1.9 but I just used the same version that I initially downloaded. Thank you Thanesh.

I've been using this extension since June of 2021, and it was a godsend. Since 1/13/2022, though, I'm having the same issues as others have mentioned, where the document is now just one continuing paragraph with no breaks, timestamps, or speaker notation. I tried removing the extension, clearing my cache, and reinstalling, but to no avail.

This is an unequivocally useless extension. All it does is transcribe extremely long, unpunctuated paragraphs of 100% nonsense English gibberish. A monkey with a typewriter would be far more accurate.

This is quite amazing. It would be great if you can share some articles how you did it, it will be a great learning experience for the community :)

The extension is great! However it would be nice to save only chat without transcript.

New version works brilliantly. I can even keep the transcript viewable in another tab to check it is working. I love this extension so much!

Okay i am gonna give it 4 stars for now, i like everything but 2 things just doesn't seems good 1. I have to remove the underline under "transcript" when its activated by going to the html and blah blah blah and editing it, i have to do it everytime i enter please add a option that alows to disable it because it just seems to be old fashioned 2. please for god's sake improve the google docs text font and size, its so small and plus its font is not that good either Please fix these issues and i am rating this 5 No Hate peace out

The app works just fine and found it very user friendly. There are obviously workds that get missed or miss-interpreted but you can't ask the app to work miracles when people mumble and it's not hard to do a corrections run-through. My main issue it that it only seems to be in English. I work in a Francphone/Anglophone area and our meetings are almost all bilingual. I will unfortunately have to try to find another app that accommodates for this particularity. I am sure there are other areas that work in multiple languages though, so it would be really cool if a future iteration of this app could somehow be linked with google translate or something to work in more languages. (I honestly have no idea how these apps are built and I assume it's a far more complicated process than I made it sound).

This saves me a ton of time and is great for technical conversations where critical information may be missed. Thank you so much for this!

Screenshot button is not showing in new meet update. Kindly fix it as soon as possible. I've also turned it on from Meet Transcript Settings and allowed the permissions also. Even then i can't see any transcript/ screenshot button.

I treid to attend two meetings via this extension and it saved captions from the meeting, but it is not working in recent Google Meet update. Please fix the problem. Your extension is really good. Thank you.

I have been using this extension for interviews that I conduct as part of my college classes - it works great! It only gets better with every update. Definitely one of the most functional add-ons I have ever used.

I have to say that I can't think of a plugin that is more appreciated since like ad-blocking in like the late 1990s. Super grateful for this tool. It has helped so much with noting meetings!

Neat, discrete extension that is so useful either for noting what is said during a session, or you can even use it for dictation, like writing an article just by speaking it out. Good, fast support from the developer too. Many thanks Thanesh!

Its amazing. much better than past ones

Wow. This is a brilliant little Chrome Extension! I was looking around for how to save Google Meet captions when I found this, and I've got to say that it's been pretty much perfect so far! I would love is an app for the phone as well so I can transcribe meetings that I have over the phone. Sidenote: I did not test an "audio only" or a dial-in only meeting but I would assume that works just as well. FWIW, my Google Accounts are: Google Workspace Business Plus (I also have an account Workspace Business Standard). Both versions have Meet recording turned on by default - not sure if the recording status matters at all with regard to captions - probably not - but I figured I would mention it. Anyhow - thank you for taking the time to build this - it's a really great tool!

What a great extension! It works beautifully: I use it with online teaching to record lectures. Brilliant. Also, I greatly appreciate the dev updating when some changes in my region (UK) led to a glitch with the extension. The fix came through nicely. A fantastic extension!

Impressive--I assume it is capturing the transcribed text that is native to Google Meet One nice feature would be able to toggle whether transcription for a given call is enabled/disabled, but this is a small feature compared to the value it delivers

Author recently changed permissions of this extension so that your Meet Transcript extension can "...READ AND CHANGE ALL YOUR DATA ON ALL WEBSITES YOU VISIT ..."
