Thank-you for getting rid of those annoying 'shorts'. Its so aggravating and obvious that every website wants to be the next 'tiktok' when it gets banned in the US. I stay off tiktok for a reason. I don't want youtube to be full of attention grabbing 3 second videos.

Great extension, but a bug has been introduced recently. The subscriptions page now doesn't show the thumbnails or correct link for shorts. Instead, it gives the channel name, with the link to the channel rather than the specific video. Unfortunately, this makes the extension unusable. Hope the author can fix it. I think all that needs to be done is to exclude the extension from the subscriptions page.

This definitely saved my OCD for youtube videos. Have to leave a comment!

Really a cool extension.

Does what it says, and does it well. Some time after I installed it, an extra feature came in, enabled by default, that was detrimental to my browsing: It just hides shorts completely. No warning, it just assumes you want them hidden and hides them by default. I installed this extension to make watching the shorts that I want to watch more pleasant, not HIDE them completely! Developer: When you add features in, DO NOT enable them by default!

It does as it says. I tried a similar extension that did the same thing, but that one would freeze all open chrome tabs for 5-10 seconds when youtube was opened and any audio that was playing would stop. This extension doesn't do that, so it's great. :)

I don't mind shorts so I downloaded this to have them show as a normal video and for that it works perfectly. That being said I don't like that it hides shorts completely by default now because I never wanted that functionality and wasn't even aware it could do that. Not to mention that I thought it was a problem with youtube at first.

Does what it's supposed to be, although you'll need to manually activate the function that actually HIDES the Shorts on YouTube as these are disabled by default. After I activated them in the extensions settings, it works as intended.

I almost didn't install it because of the bad reviews! But I'm so glad I did anyway. It actually removes shorts in one click when you check the Hide Shorts Video option. Had to check/uncheck it a couple of times, so try that if you don't see the result instantly.

Shorts are probably the worst thing Google has implemented. I can deal with shadow banning, censorship, and false copyright takedowns, but not shorts. It's a terrible format that I'm not intelligent enough to write out legibly. Something in my core hates this. You need this extension, it will enhance your life in many ways. Mentally and physically. I got two inches because of this app. But don't keep this to yourself, share this with others and if you have a bug friend just sneak onto his/her PC, install it, and then unpin it. He/she will never notice if they're the type of person who would enjoy Shorts or TikTok. I'd give this 10 stars but I don't know how to get this on my iPhone.

Youtube shorts are still appearing in side-bar and not removable, the only thing this extenstion does it allow me to view it as a normal video which is meh but I wanted NO SHORTS

No issues so far. It does exactly what it says it does, which is great because I was about stop using YT entirely. I ABSOLUTEY HATE SHORTS and all of the employees at YT. They're the worst website managers in history and they have the best content. It's absolutely infuriating.

Works great! I haven't had a single issue with this extension, I'm so glad I can finally use the time bar in YouTube Shorts. YouTube Shorts has to be one of the dumbest ideas YouTube has ever conceived.

This extension works and allows me to actually see new videos that I subscribe. Only because one person decides to post 20 or more shorts hiding everyone else I want to see.

It doesn't work. Shorts still come up and play with no real controls. Hiding them from the menu also doesn't work. Chrome version 110.0.5481.77 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 11 Pro 22H2

Very misleading name for an extension but I installed it knowing what it was for and it works so I have no complaints. I have no idea why Youtube doesn't already play Shorts as normal videos on desktop. It makes sense for mobile but not for desktop where I want to have my progress bar and other video settings.

Extention helps a lot!! Especially for wanting to look at shorts without having to watch irrelevant ones afterwards. And for those wondering, it dosen't just remove the shorts bar on the home page. It just plays the short you click on as if it were a normal video 10/10!

Great extension. The shorts format is a horrible format for Youtube, especially considering that it marks old videos under a minute as shorts also. This extension shouldn't have to exist and instead be integrated into the website as a toggle for the format.

Does not block shorts, it just changes the shorts into normal the normal video player. I was expecting it to remove shorts from my feed but nope!

Installed it just now, doing what it says. Just install, refresh the youtube page and enjoy. Kudos to the developers for providing us with something so basic yet so useful. Shame on Google for not providing such basic features!

Amazing, before when it had the shorts tab and you watch it at a normal video was good enough but then I ended up reclicking the shorts button. Now you've removed the whole shorts tab so this is so helpful thanks so much!

i was getting random videos playing in the background and i found them in my liked videos list. after removing this it stopped, I don't know if this was the cause but in 3 days after removing this extension the problem stopped completely. it worked great for its advertised purpose but I cant stand the unadvertised parts of it. hopefully this review helps.

I simply despise the shorts format, the auto-restart, and getting videos that I didn't ask for. This FIXES shorts and turns them into normal videos! Now, I get only what I've subscribed to, and in a better format, too. Danny Zaharia, you win.

Thank you. Very stupid and overindulgent feature from youtube trying to pander to infantile social media zombies. I don't mind short video clips but the interface on the video page and stupid "shorts" tab on the home page is really idiotically done. This gets rid of both of them perfectly. Just remember to either restart your browser or f5 youtube after activating this to get it working.

Thanks! I actually enjoy the Shorts selection the yt algorithm finds for me but the interface in desktop is awwwwwwful! Why are we using less than 10% of my screen? Why can't I hit fullscreen? Why is there an unrelated next video literally poking its head below waiting to pounce at me? Why are comments in a teeny tiny modal? Why isn't this at least an opt-out in the general settings?

Now I don't have to deal with YouTube automatically uploading videos as shorts. In the past I had to manually change "shorts" to "watch?v=".This extension does what it exactly says and this is probably the greatest extension for me for the site.

Did anyone even ask for YouTube shorts? I feel this was a decision made out of jealousy. Like if a famous sports car manufacturer decided to start pushing tow hitches because they want to compete with a pickup truck manufacturer. Yeah, they're similar in how they function, but each vehicle serves another purpose entirely. Keep shorts out of YouTube, that's not why I'm there.

The title covering part of the video, the comments and description covering almost the entire video, my dislike extension breaking, and being unable to adjust the video volume.

Takes an extra second after clicking on the short, but it's worth every second. Also like how clicking the back button just sends me back instead of an infinite loop. Baffles me how YouTube thought putting a shorts player on PC, AND converting short old videos to shorts was a good idea. Thank you.

Given the title alone doesn't do what you think. Might be good for what it does but not the one I was looking for. Youtube doesn't play in a block format so the wording is made for the reason of tricking hence the 1 star.

Youtube, I avoid TikTok and all those other platforms because I don't want a looping video. Stop trying to become them. Extension is a savior though, I can now watch Gianni Matragano in peace :)
