Solves a problem! Can now understand context of email

Where has this extension been all my life? I feel like I'm drowning in emails. And using folders and labels don't do the trick. These are a liferaft on my computer screen! I have been sharing this extension with everyone I know, and I use it across the 5 different gmail accounts I manage. Thank you for developing these!

This is a cool addon. I use it to show notes in the subject line of email updates for shipments. I can also leave a note for something to followup on at a later time - color code that. Very useful. Occasionally after an update it glitches and it's not there. Have to close gmail and reopen. The fact that I get concerned that it's not there shows how dependent I am on it. Nice job.

Love this - really makes managing your inbox much easier

4.5 stars This is a really useful app. If it had the capability for inline notes (i.e. highlight text in email and add note there) it would be a 5 star app for sure!

Hi, I m unable to connect google drive...

When they changed it to require my Google account log in information, I had to remove it. I don't give strangers my log-in data. Derp.

Great idea but support is completely lacking - I subscribed to the app becuse I thought this was a great idea. However, every time I try to reach out I get an error message. I try to look up my account --- error message. Completely useless if I can't get support.

Why am I not able to delete my note? It keeps appearing in my inbox and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times

Fantastic app!!

How do I update to the current version? I liked this extension and used it daily, but it stopped working yesterday.

Simple to use, I was so used to leave notes, and use it evry day, but this week it started to stop working on certain emails, now today it stop working.

This extension is great, it helps a lot in organizing emails and I've been using it for a long time! The only thing I would change is the icon design which is outdated... please change the design to a more modern and minimalist style!

10/13/22: It stopped working a few days ago. Waiting for my email to be answered (they say 72 hours). Hopefully it can be fixed, I really enjoy this extension. It WAS great, but now after an update of Chrome or the extension itself, I don't know, when GMail first starts up, everything from the extension is bunched up on the left side of the email. A single refresh fixes it, but it shouldn't be doing that.

It was great but now I can't get it to work. I'm not sure if I've been a free user for too long or what. I will certainly not pay for the service if it just stops working and I have to figure out that now I need to pay for it. I will just move to something else. I'm hoping it starts working again soon, I have lots of notes and I'd hate to lose them.

hi aj, we did not take an open sourced project and make subscriptions upon it. The product is solely developed by our company, and we just open sourced it afterwards, so people can feel safe about their data.

I use this all.the.time!!!! I color code, make notes on what needs followed up, things to read, waiting, etc. It's invaluable to me.

Solves a problem for us by allowing workers on different shifts to communicate with one another and to record their progress on each email. Works nicely and not intrusive.

This extension solves so many problems. Make notes to indicate your next task, to summarize the status of a long involved email conversation, and for me the best advantage is to remind yourself on the day an email pops back into your Inbox as to why you Snoozed it. For example, progress is on hold until someone else completes the next step -- make a note about that using SGN and then use the Gmail Snooze feature to take it out of your Inbox until the date you wish to check on the status of things again. Useful options and features, really good job.

Please make the "Simple Gmail Notes" search button more accessible .... Not easy to get to the search; GMAIL's native search will not find notes made with this extension... therefore you must use "simple gmail notes" custom search function, but it is difficult to access the custom search widget. Please make the "Simple Gmail Notes" search button more accessible from all pages (inbox / gmail search / trash) etc, by placing the search button right by Gmails Native search bar Also, please make your notes email specific (instead of applying the notes to the whole conversation)

I keep all my updates, notes, dates, conversation notes in this app. I could not function without this. If you want the BEST note taking app, this is for you.

Good, but now getting spammed to also use Simple Mobile CRM - same company trying to force people to use other products for the spam to go away = totally unacceptable behavior?

very useful tool to remove the clutter from the email mamagement, it's a way to not go down the task management, which i believe should be done in other environments than the email.

LOVE IT! Works great. I like the execution of it. Well done. Nicely configurable to my taste. Happy to pay the very low annual subscription for something that is going to be so helpful to me everyday. I was able to test the free version, prove it worked great, then upgrade for a pittance to remove any promos and add a little extra functionality. Developers have to eat, too. I don't get the 'everything should be free' mentality. Nice job, please keep it up!

Excellent tool for us. We can add notes for various action points. Few things to be improved 1) There is a lag, if no of notes are more 2) Refreshes quite frequently 3) How to store in a different google drive a/c, rather than current one

It has started giving notifications to upgrade all the time in the Gmail inbox area. Absolutely hate that! I will disable and remove within 30 days if this is not changed. I will not be a paid subscriber, but free users shouldn't be forced to see your ads on the right of Gmail all the time.

I love the notes on gmail, they are really helpful, but I leave one star until there is no way of removing the ´Simple Mobile CRM´ column. That column takes a lot of space in gmail and even if I manage to get rid of it, then it comes back.

How can there be a subscription option for anything that's OPEN SOURCE? I thought that was the whole point of open source.....everyone contributes to its development, but no one profits from it? What am I missing?

This has been the most exciting add-on to my gmail.com and chrome. It doesn't lag my computer or phone, it saves in Google Drive automatically, it is easy to show off. Pretty sad that I don't have $2 right now a month but when I do, this is the first thing I am going to sign up for. I love it and I hope lots of others sign up and give them a little cash, it is worth it. If it is a small company then they are owed props for doing such a good job! If it is Google then they are already rich.... they should be giving it away!

I have used this extension for over a year and love it. Then they updated it and added ads for their other products to every gmail message. That is not OK.

I've been a longtime user of this extension, which I use all the time and have found to be super useful. But the developer is trying to pressure users into a paid subscription just to receive support for this otherwise 'free' extension. So now I open an email to randomly find intrusive ads covering half of the email body, and am left unable to read my email. It only occurs a few times a week, but that is still a few times a week that I'm unable to read my emails, and free or not that is just ridiculous!

Great extension to keep notes for an email. Specially useful where customers register through email and follow up phone calls are made to get the rest of info. Could not find anything else this simple and effective.

Has good options and it is easy to use but I would love to see a feature that automatically adds all notes to a notes label to make it easy to find emails with a note. The only way to do this is to manually add the email to a "notes" folder for every email.

I have been using this extension for a few years now but now they are starting to nag you to start paying. Its annoying. I don't use it very often but when I do it's nice to be able to make a note but to be honest to have to start paying for what little I use it's not worth putting up with the annoying reminders to pay. I will be looking for an alternative.

Great organizing tool for email. You can write little reminders for messages of greater importance, and they stand out when you're looking at your inbox.

Have been using for years. Incredibly SIMPLE and so helpful in my day to day work!

This extension inserts ads for the developers' other products into your Gmail window. I uninstalled immediately when this occurred. I use all manner of adblock on Chrome to avoid ads and I will not use extensions that show me even more ads.

Cumpre o que promete sem qualquer problema. Para mim, extremamente útil. Personalizável para quem gosta. Quase não ocupa espaço na linha junto às outras tags. Pouco ou nenhum atraso se nota no manejo dos email, tirando que por vezes a «tag» demora 1 ou 2 segundos a aparecer, mas nada que atrapalhe o trabalho. Não dou seis estrelas, porque o limite é cinco.

Great Job, really works like poetry. You should add option to hide description area when there isn't any note (only icon to expand the note area) and will be perfect.

edit: I change my rating from 2 to 3 stars because the customer service honestly tried to solve the problem I describe below - yet the problem is still there and still very annoying - sadly there is no other serious alternative out there, so I guess I am stuck with that used to work fine - now it turns off and on again and again messing up with Gmail - really annoying - I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, yet nothing - pls fix it

Awesome little app -- extremely useful for identifying voicemail transcriptions received via email. I use it constantly and would not want to go back to life without it!

I love this extension! It helps me remember at a glance what emails I need to follow up on and what I need to do. I communicate with online students, and this has helped me keep up with multiple ongoing conversations, student questions, technical issues, administrative responsibilities, etc. The color coding option takes it to the next level. I know at a glance based on my color coding which emails are waiting on me, which ones are waiting on the other person to reply, and which ones have been resolved.

Best option out there - I've looked and continue to, but I've used desktop & mobile for over a year now..

I envisioned a note app for Gmail, searched, found this and its perfect. Does exactly what its should exactly how it should do it.

I really like the feature overall. It does what it claims, and it does it simply and well. My one complaint -- and when I'm clearing out a lot of stuff from my inbox it turns into kind of a major complaint -- is that it causes my mail to "jump" around as I'm reading it. The plugin seems to wait until it's loaded data for the current thread (or verified there is no data to load) before populating the UI. That means that for potentially a couple seconds after I load an email, the SGN UI isn't visible at the top. Then it appears, and shifts the entire rest of the email down. It would be much better for the UI to be visible immediately, but disabled or with a loading spinner, and then populate the data into it once it's loaded. That would get rid of this annoying visual artifact.

It's a simple and very usefull tool. I really love it.

No more bother with Task, to do list, etc. Simple Notes puts that info. right into my email for instant access and viewing.

It is the gmail productivity plugin that i was looking for! has everythin, notes, connection to gcal, nice ui customization... highly recommened!

It's exactly what I was looking for! A way to summarize what's in an email (or add a note about what you need to do) without having to forward it to myself and lose the ability to easily see the original sender and date information. My only wish would be for Google to integrate it into Gmail as an 'inherent' feature, so that the slight delay on loading wouldn't be an issue, and so that it would integrate with mobile. (I find the separate mobile app to be too cumbersome for my tastes.) But wishing for an awesome thing to be *more* awesome doesn't take away any of the original shine.

Excellent extension! A feature request if I may - ability to add file attachments with the notes would be great. Often notes may be made even more meaningful by having a screenshot or some document, hence the request.

Had to down rate it because it now considerably slows down gmail! It takes forever to simply scroll up and down my inbox and even longer to open emails. Too bad....I liked the idea.

Great to have this extension! This is very helpful, but for emails without notes, I would prefer an extra button instead of having an empty field in each email message. It would be nice to have this choice in the advanced features. Thank you.

The absolute best extension!!!! A must have for anyone who wants a completely organized inbox. I use for all my Amazon shipping packages. Have arrival date, item, and shipping carrier visible from the inbox, no need to open the email to see what I need.

So easy. Love the product so much, paid an annual subscription. Been using for a couple years and keeps getting better and better. It is so handy to make a comment on an email, especially when the subject line does not identify the conversation.
