I have the Yahoo Wider Mail and Yahoo Search Extensions installed and turned on in Google Chrome. Those extensions have given me the "Wider Email" view in Yahoo Mail for several years, until last month, at the cost of having Yahoo as my browser's default search engine. Since January 2023, any attempt to hide the advertising pane on the right side of the screen will prompt me to subscribe to Yahoo Mail Plus at $5/month, with a free trial. Please return the Wider Email feature for those who have the extensions installed.
I have the Yahoo Wider Mail and Yahoo Search Extensions installed and turned on in Google Chrome. Please return the Wider Email feature for those who have the extensions installed. Very misleading! Don't waste your time! Does anyone knows a solution to have the "Wider Email" view in Yahoo Mail in 2023?
It was working until yesterday, but stop working today...
It was working until yesterday, but stop working today! At this moment, advertisements ARE being shown on the right side... I'm removing this extension now.
Message popped up to install this if I need more space on the right side of yahoo mail, so I pressed install. It looks like when I try to hide something with developer tools. And it changed my search engine from Google to yahoo. this is a spam....
It works for me, I have no ads in the side of my mailbox. The only thing that is missing is the search page. Whenever I open a new tab, had my computer set to Yahoo!, the search won't appear. I would recommend to my friends.
was told to download this from my yahoo mailbox to hide the right side of it. very misleading!!
Worked for me. Now I have got wider mail view.
Very good, i love it
Summary: bad practice from yahoo and it only works if you keep "yahoo" as the default search engine on chrome. Once you disable, the yahoo mail site goes back to normal. This extension was recommended by Yahoo Mail, as a way to enlarge the readable screen area. They are at least upfront that it will change your search engine and the extension is now called "yahoo search" so there's no false advertising but still scummy. Looks like I'll go with my OS's mail service for now.
yahoo is great !
Get it on!
Dont want it, do not like it.
Works as intended: expanded the email window as promised. *However*, it changed my default search engine to Yahoo. False advertising. I should not have to have yahoo as my my default search engine in order to have wider mail on yahoo. Ridiculous!
This is a good app when it works. It always seems to be needed to add each time as it doesn't stay permanently active
The extension expanded the email window as promised. However, it changed my default search engine to Yahoo. This was not expected and I am removing the extension now.
Works great on my Chromebook.
At this moment, advertisements ARE being shown on the right side...I am removing this extension.
i dont want this why this bar is coming again and again
Works for me. Not sure why everyone else is having a problem.
Just as Denver Geo said..."No improvement that I can see." Still need to click the divider arrow again and again and...a real pain.
can't keep ads closed because people can't get the program right seems like they are going backwards instead of forwards
I AM glade that you offer this unique rating tip to caution us on the program activities...
1.0 required clicking divider in mail, each time. Pathetic! What's the point? They pushed an upgrade (1.1), which neglected to uninstall 1.0 (completed uninstall manually). No improvement that I can see. After over 20 years with Yahoo, it's feeling like they are going backwards with development.
