I love this Darkness! Who knew that there were so many shades of darkness!

Its a darken theme... But it does not darken at all. It turns the site pages into different shades of an ugly blue. If the creator does not fix this issue then it was a straight waste of money. My settings for my brand new chromebook are darker than any options given by this extension.

As I get older, I'm really starting to dislike all of these bright, bright colors on the web pages. Never Fear, the Darkness Extension for Chrome is here. It's really not that bad of an app. However I do agree that it's about time for the developer to do a little upgrading...

DO NOT PURCHASE. This extension is abandoned and no longer functions as advertised.

I loved it at first, but now it's causing me problems. I'm being told to turn off my Google high contrast extension and I don't have a high contrast extension. I wish someone would respond to my email and tell me why they think I have a high contrast extension. I've sent 2 emails to Darkness this morning 12/17/20 and no one has responded. Good luck with my profile picture. It has disappeared from my Facebook homepage and something is preventing me from uploading it again. Today is 01/15/21 and yesterday for the first time since I wrote this review, I lost the Darkness mode on all my websites. I searched for a phone number and found your email. I wrote to you this morning and I hope I receive a timely response from you. I really like the dark background. It is much easier on my eyes. I have the Pro edition of Darkness and hope whatever is causing this problem is corrected quickly. I am still not aware of any added high definition extensions on my laptop. I certainly didn't install any and I'm the only one using it. If I removed it from Chrome and then added it back, do you think that would solve this problem? Today is 01/11/22. It's been almost a year since I've written a review on Darkness but I'm having another problem. It will will not load the No Theme mode. My browser is Google and when I ask a question, I sometimes want to print out the answer, but I don't want the background to be black and unless I set Darkness to No Theme, the background will print out black wasting the ink in my printer. Why can't I set Darkness to No Theme. I paid for the premium Darkness and I'd like for it to work correctly. All the problems I was having with Darkness have been resolved. I'd appreciate it if this problem could be resolved too.

after reading most of the complainers on most of these reviews im here to say that this extention does a hell of a lot more then the actualy "DARK Mode" that was put out by GOOGLE just for there sites on my safari browser. it might not be the best for some people but i will say i love it when i open up chrome and it is DARK so much easier on my eye strain

Options are less than acceptable. Compatibility is very disjointed between different sites and services. Do not buy.

Works great on my laptop. maybe all the haters need to update or something.

I'm really impressed by how well they're themes work across such a large collection of popular sites, and how well they keep their themes up-to-date as all these different sites make changes! For me, the paid version is definitely worth it!

After 3 months with the free version, I paid $2.99 for the pro and I love it on my Apple Pro laptop for the glare control. It's well worth the price.

It doesn't work on Facebook, the moon icon is there but choosing a theme does NOTHING

Looked more grey than black. The first day it looked fine, the next morning it looked all faded and grey I really wanted it to work but no it doesn't look as cool as my phone which is an Apple.

this thing is garbage. i thought maybe if i purchased the pro version it would operate better but i was sadly mistaken. don't waste your time or money.

A blatant rip-off. No refund. No support and no benefit. It simply darkens EVERYTHING to BLACK. Not surprised to see Google's brand name attached.

It's a complete bait-and-switch that capitalizes on the free contributions of members. It's pretty much a scam.

It does not auto-dark EVERY website but it auto-darkens every main website I visit. Great extension!! I recommend.

If you're selling extensions for profit, atleast make them complete. This is half-assed more than 90% of the free extensions.

Absolutely love it!! Mostly use on Facebook and if you are a gamer there is no problem, just remember to disable app. if going full screen. When I loaded the app. and started using within 10 seconds my aching, burning eyes felt better.

This app is helpful on my eyes and the themes are cool. If you were add more colors,might I suggest purple.The green is awesome! The downside to this app is the constant hovering of the message above that states, 'if want to use this theme app,click on to the symbol in the upper right hand corner.'When you do this,comes up the colors of the themes and a wants a feedback...EVERYTIME.That's annoying.TO THE DEVELOPER: Please alter this glich. Never buying anything this "OUT-dated." not competitive with most sites now a days....

Downloaded, installed and paid my $4.99 for upgrade. It thanks me for upgrading then prompts me to pay for an upgrade again. Tried it on all three of my computers, but no joy. Tells me to enter the email address but won't accept it, just returns me to the page asking for more money. I turned off the adblocker and the antivirus then cleaned out the caches, but it still won't install the upgrade. Turned off ALL my extensions with no luck. I guess I don't really need a dark screen, but paying $5 for a buggy app irritates me no end!!

I like the idea but it is very hit and miss.

Doesn't even work, requires a purchase to use on anything other than google or facebook, even then other google services don't work with it.

This Extension seems to have been abandoned, so many bugs with the CSS for the themes in facebook and YT. I was expecting maybe some new themes to be added over time, or updates to fix the bugs. There is nothing 'Pro' about the Pro version.

I wish I knew about chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark before I paid 5$ (yes, it's on sale). Not worth it. Disliked every theme.

given the fact that I paid for this extension and it only has 7 very indistinguishable themes, I am not impressed by this extension at all.

1 star, only because 0 wasn't an option. The themes are just bad, at best underwhelming. But even if you disagree, they only work on a small subset of sites: so your browser will constantly bounce back and forth between themed/not themed. In my case, I immediately asked for a refund well within the appropriate window to do so...I'd been polite, sympathetic and constructive in feedback/explaining why I was dissatisfied with the product; all of which was unnecessary in so far as qualifying for a refund (I just thought some customer interaction might be wanted), and yet I just flat out never heard back from them/never got refunded. Stay away!!!

This is so cool. Aside from Eye comfort, it also save more battery power especially in our area where Electrical power is the common problem.

App is broken, and will not change colors each time. buggy settings, some of the selections are half arsh and look like kookoo

I like the regular but the pro is much better. I like all the color choices. It keeps me more active and not get bored with the set up.

It Needs a Beige/ Sepia color theme, that would add 2 stars for me if it can be implemented. It doesn't always have to be either white or black(dark color) to browse the sites, it is nicer to read when the beige/ sepia color is on.

I love it, for just 3$ you get awesome feature and also support the developer, I tested the free extension and after a while I turned to pro version.

Used this extensions for longer than i can remember now. I bought Pro and havent regretted once its great! My only wish is that it works for every single website in existence, if only it were possible. I have never had a problem, nor have I ever really experiences any bugs that I can remember, maybe a couple of times where the icon wasnt their in the top right, but a restart fixed this immediately. This extension is easily my favourite

it's pretty cool, nothing too special? i love the color brown, so it reminds me of "Kofi" (Coffee). i'm trying to use this Matrix theme next!

Works great on everything except Google Drive, it seems to have made things a lot slower when in a document, please fix if you can!

Instead of PAYING, you can use the "Stylish" extension for many different styles for way more than only 25 websites. I lol'd when I downloaded this.

Awesome! Only suggestion is add more sites, thought the ones that are there are frequently used by most people which is great.

Really wish there was a theme that didn't ADD colours. Fine if there's already colours there; if anything, please just mute or greyscale them! Obviously bright shades darker, but Coffee is the most simple, least colourful theme and it's still really brown!

I bought the paid version, and like it for what it is, but it needs more themes, and integration with more sites, in particular Google Voice (voice.google.com), and ALL Google web apps, and many others.

Author has abandoned this extension. He really needs to update this and make it work better with all websites. For the few places this extension is supported, I still feel like I've been ripped off. All the themes (even on supported sites) look like a "negative" from a photo and makes it nearly impossible to view what's on the screen.

Well worth the $5. The themes helps viewing certain sites easier. I have somewhat poor eyesight. So, I am willing to experiment with apps that could help with eyecare.

Kind of buggy. For instance the X in the upper right corner that you would assume closes it instead takes you to a blank web page. The only way I have found to dismiss the dialog box is to reload the browser page. Some of the themes such as Coffee will display black text in a black popup box, which is unreadable.

Very useful, hopefully they add more support on common used websited.

I have been using this for a more than a year. I love the themes. Absolutely great!
