What the hell just happened?!?!? Before this morning I could open up multiple video streams, now it will only open one stream at a time. If I happen to have a video stream already playing in the vlc media player in try to send another video stream to the vlc player using the extension, it plays over the current video stream already playing. Use to be able to play multiple video streams at once. As of this morning it will only open and play one video stream at at time. What happened overnight?!?!? I did not tweak any of the settings in my vlc player or the extension. Why is it now only allowing one video stream to play at a time?!?!?

MKV file extensions has been removed form Show "Open in VLC" context menu in recent updates, then we should add it manually. Please fix this.

It Does the Job but the youtube stream in vlc is not smooth i thought of playing it in 3x but vlc stream sucked !
All the reveiws complaining that it doesn't work on chrome os are silly. The real issue is that the quality of the video is lower in vlc with the extention then it is normally (at least with the youtube video I tested) so unless you're really short on time and/or storage space and really love vlc then your probably better off using the sites native video player or downloading the video and running it in normal vlc.

Tool is good. But I want to use it for ftp server. It would be nice if you added the possibility to automatically send credentials to vlc since vlc doesn't remember them. I think it can't be hard to implement and it would be really helpful for easier streaming. Thank you

when it locates the video url (sometimes it doesn't), then it's great. A lot of site players don't have subtitles and the in-player subtitle uploader is usually useless so being able to watch via VLC, it's simple to add, & obviously watching via VLC is a much better experience. I definitely recommend this extension

Sucks big time. Made my chromebook useless for playing video. It seems to have replaced the functioning video player on Chromebook and plays nothing correctly. I tried uninstalling it to reinstall to see if it was an installation problem or I could use the prior video player and it is now uninstallable.

Works perfectly. Useful in cases where chrome doesn't support hw accelerated video decoding. Note that you'll also need to install a nodejs script to use it.
Asks you to install other software locally, plugin doesn't do what you expect.

Needs some extra node.js extension that is hard to find, on a page with ads, hard to install and has confusing instructions and links to all sorts of irrelevant places. Is launching the regular VLC player in this way worth it?

If it's not working for you check the options page. You had to change the Program files to Program files (x86) or just where ever is located your VLC player launcher. :)
