Excellent. It blocks everything malicious including ads. Brilliant extension.
Protects me from IP loggers at least
It's terrific! Does a great job, better than one I used for years before. It doesn't keep ads coming through in email newsletters, but it blocks ALL of them on the web (except not in Incognito mode, where I didn't expect it would). Browser: Chrome. I also have Malwarebytes Premium, but that's not essential, and I don't know whether it makes a difference in my results compared to those who say they're not impressed.
It legit is a malware extension, changes your dns, redirects downloads, reads data, and so much more. Look up under dev tools for "background_page.js" you'll see ALL the abilities it has, that is hidden to the common user. For example, overlay screen, altering certificates, and installing software.
Pretty nice extension
Güzel. Kaliteli ve İyi. Uyumlu. Virüs Testlerinden 100 Üzerinden %75 Üstü Puan Almış Bir Program. Cpu Kullanımı Çok Az. Lisans: Ücretsiz. Desteklediği Tarayıcılar: Firefox, Google ve Alternatifleri Tarayıcılar da Çalışır.
In all honesty this is so good that I would pay for this. Nothing comes even close
Do the Youtubers get monetized if i use this extension while watching their content? Thanks!
Is this better than Guardio ?
Great thing about this extension, but there are absolute sites that can even keep ads, btw it works very great.
Best way to remove YouTube ads, it appears to tell the ad that it has played, everyone wins.
absolutely amazing averyone needs this
Best extension in the entire web store. keep up the good work it's greatly appreciated!
It's an ad blocker, and also blocks malicious websites. It gets the job done, and does what it's supposed to do.
it helps with blocking those sketchy adult film ads and download ads. very good
Why it doesnt block PUPs anymore? the function got removed or what?
I don't think it does anything but block some ads.I tested it on a few known malware test pages. It failed to block them despite my settings set to identify and block. Extension is very heavy on the resources. It has annoying (and distracting) counter that can't hide the number of ad it has blocked.. Not recommended.
dose this extension switch the serch engine to yahoo? because it keeps doing that
It helped my computer not get a pop-up when i checked out the idiot program. that's cool.
I've been using this extension (MBBG) pretty much since it came out (and MB itself since around 2008), and I think it does a really good job, and rarely blocks things that shouldn't be blocked. It can sometimes be tricked, but that's true of any software, and doesn't provide the level of control I need, tho. I don't use Brave's protections as it tends to break too many websites and doesn't allow discrete control, so I use NoScript to catch what MBBG misses, and NoScript is also the only one I've found that allows me full control over what and how websites are controlled (blocked, trusted, temporarily trusted, default), unlike others including MBBG, Brave, uBlock Origin, Ghostery, etc., which is mind-boggling to me because of the number of times that some of those script-blockers have broken websites with no way for me to selectively make a valid website work except by disabling broad protection categories I don't really want to turn off. I wish MB would take my comments into consideration and add an expert mode. Look to NoScript as the gold standard.
it's work fantastic. Although it's a free browser extension, it blocks all malicious sites and urls. I love it so much
this is awesome works really well i like that it stops malware
Works fine
This extension is pure garbage! Drops browsing speed in a horribly noticable way. Think not? Do an on/off comparison. Constantly rolls the dice between allowing dangerous sites and false positives on retail and other sites. Companies should sue them for lost revenue.
Add blocking is absolute trash. It sometimes lets ads through and shows them instead of blocking them. Also it plays a few seconds of video ads before it blocks them. Annoying. I'm going back to Ublock Origin. At least that ad blocker actually works. I used Browser Guard because it came as an offer with my Malwarebytes subscription, so I tried it but it's useless, so I'm switching back to Ublock. Guys get Ublock, because the ad blocker on here is garbage. Literal complete trash.
Very reliable extension - would recommend for people who browse on many different sites online due to its ability to block ads and tracking cookies on your browser. Though I would not give this 5 stars because when uninstalled, I remember encountering an issue with completely removing it from my machine. When something's uninstalled, I shouldn't have to deep dive into my hidden OS files just to remove it. Aside from that, it's great. Has kept me safe for the past few years, and I still use it over McAfee.
Every time I create a new profile on ANY browser it says on chome "Error reinstall malwarebytes" but I don't want too.
Used the Malwarebytes extension but it wont go away now i removed it a few months ago but it stills comes back out of no where literally out of no where i need help with removing this from my computer.
Used to work very good but recently I have been getting ads on youtube meaning the ad blocker is no longer working. I will try removing and adding the addon and let you know what happens!
pretty good extension no problems 4 me.
Actually got rid of a LOT of junk. not another annoying pay to access cleaning app. Free adblocks, removes my youtube ads! this extensions deserves way more attention.
Does what it says it does and it has another function too. Whatever method they use to block ads bypasses adblock checks on websites, like admiral adblock detector.
amazing saves you from malicious sites and isn't annoying with the popup ads or anything like that.
5/5 amazing
DUDE IT RESTORED EVERYTHING ON MY COMPUTER I LOVE THIS SO MUCH I GOT A VIRUS AND I DELETED IT! it sadly didnt fix my left nut hurting though.
It is a very good app! It's just that it slows my computer... like a turtle. Yes, it really does! It worked for the first day but it my computer became very slow. In the second day, my chrome stopped working! I couldn't search, nor could I open tabs. I removed it from chrome then my computer started working so fast! It saves us from Ads/trackers, malware, scammers, phishing etc. It could protect me from everything. BUT was is the meaning of protection when you can't browse? That is why I am giving it 3 stars, it was okay... Conclusion- Great protection but it slows down your computer. I would keep it if it doesn't make my computer slow. :/
This is one of the best extension I have on chrome. Thanks to Malwarebytes for providing us with a wonderful tool.
Worked fine for quite some time then suddenly decided it didn't like Google Maps Satellite view and now all I see are the road markings on a dark grey background. No satellite at all. I have to disable the extension in order to view satellite imagery as per normal. Please fix this.
Malwarebytes's is the best programme of its type on the internet so a 5 star rating from a 30 year user of browning the internet to stop malware.
It's been reliable and helpful in cleaning ads and preventing malware in the most obscure places. But recently there's been an issue where it disables for no reason. Is this a bug or is my PC hacked?
..blocks ads ?..
This extension is one of the best popup blocker and ad blocker I had. It helps me get rid of ads. And also warns me if a website is malware/trojan!
It's great! Blocks lots of sites, which is great. But it, just today on 4/11/22, blocked a legit site, Facebook.com, because it says it has malware. Hmmm.
I've browsed the web extensively, never got a warning (I guess the not so safe sites I browsed were not deemed a threat), but now it's blocking me and reporting as dangerous the facebook homepage with https on front. Really?
I Love this extension and has saved me more then i can count but i wish there was a easier way to disable or pause it.
Saved me from at least a thousand viruses from going on pirat- ahum... from going on some suspicious sites for unknown means.
This extensions attempt to force itself into your browser even after you uninstall malwarebyte entirely, it's not any better than a virus.
Falsely blocking genuine website causing huge financial loss to independent stores using Shopify. SHAMBLES!!
well done browser gard
I'm very glad the bug causing slow opening of File Explorer was fixed, but I'm very annoyed that it infrequently causes huge increase in CPU usage, slowing down Chrome massively. I can understand it's hard to fix because it's inconsistent, but I know for a fact that when I disabled the extension, Chrome soon became much more responsive. Please let me know if there's some way I can provide more detailed information for debugging this, it's an annoying issue, and it keeps me from recommending it fully.
as of 1/25/22 the plugin has been fixed
This used to be a super good extension. Recently, though, when trying to download files or save an image it takes ~ 10 seconds to load the file system. It is now unusable.
Used the Malwarebytes extension since 2018, been paying for malwarebytes and absolutely loved it. Noticed im not the only one having issues with the recent update thats causing a 20-40 second delay upon saving a file under "save as" and its pretty frustrating. hoping the development team fixes this issue alongside with the ad block. giving it a 3/5 stars because it seems the devs arent on top of the situation trying to mitigate/ fix the issues. otherwise i say malwarebytes is great and i would highly reccomend you to download the extension for it too. otherwise. avoid it for now until they fix it with another update.
As of the other day, this extension has started slowing down "save as" dialog boxes for up to ten seconds in Windows 10. Disabling the extension eliminated the delay.
This extension causes Chrome to have a delay of 5-10 seconds to open the save as window when downloading things. Not worth using do to this slow down.
Latest update causing the 'save as' window to take upwards of 20 seconds to show. I am wondering if this is also causing my video playback to stop about 1 minute into pressing play.
works well, i think. never really see it do anything which is good i guess? just ran into a major problem though. when trying to save images it takes over 20 seconds for the save dialog box to show while with the add-on disabled it takes 2 seconds. please fix.
I have uninstalled the extension. Reason: Took TOO long ( around 20 minutes ) to open an installer I downloaded and around 2 minutes to save an image.
I use this extension on Vivaldi Browser 4.1.2369.11 and I had no issue until today, when suddenly every time I tried to save something - even very small images! - would take a huge amount of time to open the "save as" window (the one where you choose the name of the file and the location where you want to save it). I was getting crazy trying to find which extension was delaying the Save As popup window so much (15 seconds delay every time I wanted to choose where to save an image/pdf/etc. which is absurd), and lo and behold the culprit was the Malwarebytes extension, when I disabled it everything went back to normal. Just to be absolutely sure that it was this extension, I tried keeping all the other extensions disabled and only the Malwarebytes one enabled, and yep, the 15 seconds delay was back. This extension had an update yesterday (January 20, 2022), so I'm guessing they did something wrong that created this bug. I hope it can be fixed soon, meanwhile I have to unfortunately keep it disabled.
Please avoid looking on downloaded files, because your extension interferes with Free Download Manager and blocks it to properly rename the downloaded files. ( FDM extension error ). After that, I'll change my rating to 5 stars because it's a useful one! Thanks!
Pls upgrade the adblock, because this extension would be top notch if it fully blocked all ads. these are some websites id like to see the adblock to work on and would make this so much of a greater app. crunchyroll and twitch.
good effective one
The only complaint I have is that it blocked the URL to a YouTube video for no reason. I can still access that video by searching for it on YouTube but using a direct YouTube link to it gets blocked.
Only been using it for about a week, It shows what its blocking when you click on the icon and even shows how many things its blocked in the past upto a month ago. Works very good so far and also blocks ads like a charm, so no need for an extra adblocker extension.
It blocks things that shouldnt be blocked and is a pain
I'm removing this extension as I don't have the time to whitelist all the trusted sites it's blocking parts of. It's been fine for several months but today I noticed that I can't load reviews on trusted websites. I turned off all the extensions and turned them on one by one to see which one was blocking the reviews: Malwarebytes Browser Guard. A few days ago I disabled Adblocker Adguard. Now I find that this extension is causing problems. Was it only NOT causing problems before because Adguard Adblocker was keeping it in check? I don't know. I only know that now I can't read reviews on any sites. Investigating found that in order to be able to read reviews without disabling this extension, I'd have to spend waaaay too much time sitting here and whitelisting sites just to accommodate Malwarebytes Browser Guard's whims. Much easier to just disable it, which is what I'm gonna do. This simple move will save me hours. I've spent time in the past, whitelisting online retailer's sites that are perfectly safe, but I don't have that kind of patience anymore.
This extension works good and even blocks some ads from playing on youtube videos which is a great bonus. An issue I've noticed is that it occasionally freezes while loading websites, however this can be fixed by refreshing the page so it's not that big of a deal, and it causes loading speeds to slow in general. Also, this extension occasionally makes my screen dim for a few seconds and goes back to normal when I move the mouse around. Very weird glitch. Thought it was related to my drivers or psu but it doesn't happen when I disable the extension.
Too many false positives. Trying to download the backup files that created with Updraft Plus in WordPress. This Guard is not allowing to download even though I checked "Do not block this site again for scam". Kinda annoying..
Immediately following install, starts in with the repeating pop-up at the top right corner of the browser's content screen (large enough to be in the way), making a superfluous demand for input about a setting that only works on Pro, even though this was a free version install, with all trial offers declined... a transparent demand for upgrade to the paid Pro version, of course. It doesn't politely disappear if ignored, and declining doesn't stop the same pop-up from reappearing each time you open the browser. OK, I haven't even had time to explore the settings yet, and I'm already fiddling with options to try to get the pop-up to turn off. First step: Try saying yes and letting whatever sales offer webpage open, and maybe that will persuade the pop-up to desist. Doing so did not open an offer page. Instead it corrupted my Chrome New Tab + DuckDuckGo search engine settings, such that the search entry box completely disappeared from every new tab I opened in the browser. Ultimately had to turn off all involved extensions, reset all search engines settings back to Chrome's Google default, and reboot the computer. Not a massive disaster, but an annoying waste of time nevertheless. Have now removed the extension, with no plan to try again. If it manages to screw things up right out of the box like that, and on a clean Win 10 system that has only 7 small extensions running on its Chrome browser, I'm figuring that's a really bad sign. Malwarebytes has been around for a long time, since early days, and while their software may not be spectacular, it's always been reliable within the parameters of its intended function, and they've always been generous about sharing genuinely free versions with those of us who can't afford to pay a fee every time we blink, and without the constant hassling to try to get you to upgrade when you can't. This extension, however, is totally out of character. Seems like the MB folks may have caught the Persistent Harrassing Pop-Ups bug that's gone rampant all over the internet, after all. ... "And another one bites the dust..."
I HAVE MALWEREBYTES lol thats why i have this ):
Perfect, free and shows what is blocked. Recommended extension ?.
I want to recommend an icon for each search results if it is good or bad website, before entering the sites. Thanks, but all performance of this extension was good enough.
Honestly so useful blocks tones of websites that contain malware
its an amazing extension for work properly
uBlock Origin vs this, let's see who saves memory and blocks properly + customizations.
All the bad reviews are from people who don't understand how to update the app or that they can scroll down to turn on an additional protection setting. If the definitions are out of date the protection gets glitchy. Same with browser updates. Use this with brave or mozilla and ublock origin and you're good. Just be sure you have a clean browser installed and use a good DNS like 9.9.9.9 and it works even better if you have the premium desktop app as well. Yes manually updating stuff is tedious but in a week it blocked almost 8k ads and trackers from youtube alone. It works people.
Did not block a single pop up, I do not recommend this extension.
Loved it, it was really influential in keeping my browser as well as my system safe and secure. Thanks Mawarebytes, Hats off!
Way too many false positives
it's 2021, Good extension to block ads
Works well and smoothly
So far, I think it's better than Ad block plus. Many websites wants me to disable Ad block plus, but they don't seem to detect Malwarebytes Browser guard. So I can go to websites without the obnoxious ads all around the webpages and videos. Or having to watch ad videos just to see the actual video. Except for YouTube, it doesn't block those ads. It does a great job alerting and stopping me if I'm going to a website that has phishing, malware or spyware. But I can proceed to go to the website anyway if I want to. It's also great to see how many ads it blocks. I recommend this extension.
best security
will probably buy the software now!! good market move!
Why does this install itself? Even after I removed from the previous browser install? Comes alongside Safe Torrent Scanner and Tampermonkey. Smells fishy.
Very good
Gets the job done
Guessing it works well, however it says you can turn it on and off by clicking on the icon - clicking the icon simply brings up a dialog box that has one option (to send or not to send anonymous data when a threat is found). I'm guessing the instructions should say it can be turned on and off from the Extensions menu.
I teste the internet and it is faster with this extension. Also the add blocking help me to concentrate on the tasks I am doing. Great tool
pro
Okay I've been using Browser guard for about four months now and I am loving it. It gives me less trouble than other Chrome browser plug ins and has caught/prevented two intrusions to my computer. Add in the fact it is free and I will say it is perfect for me. IT WORKS.
Great! Really helps me not be so anxious while on the internet as before, but I recommend still taking safety precautions and checking if a site is trust-worthy despite having the extension on, because it's NOT perfect, and can fail to detect potential threats on some sites.
It is not working like pervious version of it. Now i am not happy with it . I use it to block ads but it cann't. Please help. Thank you.
This has to be the best malware protections I had from my laptop. It's stops ads on youtube, but you have to skip it, but whatever. It blocks websites which has malware or a virus. And tells that the website has a virus, even though it is official. I am very thankful to MalwareBytes for protecting my computer.
for some reason it recently stopped blocking YouTube ads is anyone else having this issue? if so is there a way to fix this?
great extension
good extention
I was using this and it works. I used it for soundcloud and I havent heard a single ad in 4 hours. It also blocked ads from spotify preatty poggers ngl. :)
Does not work on Vivaldi browser.
the safety is very good but the only problem is its ad blocker doesn't work many ads are still visible
Very good! It blocks websites containing any type of computers viruses, but sometimes(rarely) it blocks normal websites. Blocks ads too. Recommend!
Amazing extension but i wish they told me what i block. They have blocked 1 malware and 16 scams. What did it block?
won't let me whitelist my telecom provider site. cannot download bills, transcripts.
Wish when it blocks things like malware and other stuff i wish it would tell me what website it blocked other than that pretty good
Java Protection rules.
no support for brave yet but i understand bc brave already has tracker an ad blockers but i wanted to get it for save website browsing
AMAZING!!! I don't know why people haven't downloaded this it is amazing!
Worked great for a few weeks. Now letting every thing thru, so removed it.
This security-extension has no 'Add website to White-list/Exeption-list'. This wastes time. Hence, only 2 stars. Also; it asks for my email-address. No, thanks!
Using with Edge chromium browser. Generally very good but on a too regular basis the browser will be in a state where all tabs are waiting. Turning off this extension results in all of those tabs loading immediately.
I wanted a program to block the darn ads on facebook on my laptop & this is just the ticket & works great!
Generates an error every time it doesn't get to name a file being downloaded. I my case the files are being named by a download manager, so nothing nefarious going on. But this extension throws an error every time. I highly doubt another download manager will yield a different results, and the developer refuses to acknowledge the error.
this is absolutely the best virus for your computer its gonna delete everything so u should download it ??????????☠??????????????????????????????????????????
