Does exactly what I wanted it to do smoothly
Works again!
This didn't work. All my duplicate and triplicate events are still showing individually on their days. There doesn't seem to be a setting or other trick for turning it on, so I'm not sure what I'm getting wrong here.
This extension no longer works and the project appears to be abandoned. However, a fork of the original project has been updated recently called Cal Merge for Google Calendar.
Looks like Google updated gmail so this plugin no-longer works.
not working for me
Worked great then all of a sudden stopped working
Striping is a jarring way to look at your calendar, and makes them stand out when not necessary. It also still leaves a blank space in month or multiple-week views, so it's not actually saving space in my calendar.
Recently stopped working, but I'm not sure when.
It probably used to work, but it doesn't work anymore.
Sure doesn't merge sports events anymore...cannot get a synced MLB calendar anywhere nore merge all the games...duplicates of every game bc gotta download teams individually...what a mess and no solutions??
I had installed and uninstalled around 4-5 times, on different dates and occasions. Tried it the first time and it did not merge my events, uninstalled and tried again another time. Same problem every time. It may not be compatible with my Asus Vivobook 14. If anyone here uses the extension easily on the same device as me, please reply below to correct my hypothesis.
I love this extension, but it's once again broken for me... It seems like if two or more people use an OOO event to block off their day, the striping will break. Still works for normal events, but totally falls apart around holidays when lots of people are taking PTO.
I used to LOVE this extension! It was my most recommended tool to all my friends and colleagues and my most valuable resource in managing a massive amount of calendars. But it hasn't worked in months, support never answers any user questions or responds to issues, nothing has been updated since 2019. The plug-in is completely useless now. Hoping another developer takes this on and recreates the concept in a working manner and will keep it updated along with Chrome updates. Please someone create a better version of this!!
At first it wouldn't work for me but I tried on a new computer and now it does. It's fantastic if you can get it working!!
Hasn't worked in weeks and no response in support from the author.
Does not work with GSuite calendar, which is very annoying. Update... reloaded page and it's fine. I'm giving it 5 stars for now, but I really don't know how well I like it, just don't want to leave my poor review.
This is a pretty good app - but it isn't meticulous about making sure an event is really on two calendars. Sometimes people will have the same name calendar for two different events. It would be better if it looked at the invite lists and cross-checked before merging into a single event. And the candy-cane striping is over the top. I would rather it added left border to each event for the colors or something.
Works pretty good - but leaves a blank space below the overlapping events on month view and my preferred 2-week view. Is there any solution to this?
This is a super awesome extension, works on current GCal.
Really like this extension - my gcal is much more bearable to look at now, I get all the information I need without going crosseyed.
A wonderful extension--makes my extremely crowded calendar with lots of shared meetings and team members' calendars vastly more readable. Also impressive is the ongoing active maintenance and improvement by Amy--I just noticed that she has added a feature so that duplicate tasks on the same calendar display with a slightly different color instead of disappearing, as they used to. Bravo!
So awesome. I really hated to have the same event three or four times in my calendar. Thank's a lot.
It works perfectly!
This is saving my sanity!
Does exactly what I wanted it to do smoothly.
So much easier to view our multiple person calendars! Thank you for making it!
One of the best apps both conceptually and in function that I have found. Thank you!
This works great. Combines the duplicates and makes stripes on it. Actually looks cool and works great.
Outstanding extension. Works just fine on my PC. Colours are what you set them at, so I don't understand the colour queries raised below. Also works just fine on the latest version I have installed (March 2019). If only I could now find a similar app for my android phone!
This is a great enhancement to the way Google displays events on its own. There is an issue with it choosing which overlapping events are shown in front of others, making some descriptions difficult to read. (https://github.com/imightbeamy/gcal-multical-event-merge/issues/60#issuecomment-463261308)
Really useful. Only bug I've noticed so far is if you remove a person from the calendar view any shared events they are in disappear, even if other people in your view are in the same event.
Really great! Only problem is the coloring scheme makes these entries DRAMATICALLY stand out (like my capitalization there did) when these events are no more important than other. Only thing that would make it better is to mute the colors from what they are or, better yet, instead of "candy striping" which is very visually jarring, just split the calendar bar into vertical segments, one for the color of each calendar that has it. This could/should be the new default and an extension option could give the candy stripe treatment if someone wanted it. Thus if the event was in 2 calendars, the left half would be one color and the right half another color, if in 3 calendars, the left third would be one color, the middle section another color, and the right third would be another color. This would be much less visually jarring.
I use several different calendars for scheduling staff activities and different groups at work (in a church). There's a lot of overlap with these groups, and having a single event show up multiple times was frustrating and space-consuming. Thanks, Amy, for this tool. It has made my calendar so much easier to manage!
Very nice. But an issue: when sharing co-workers calendars, clicking on an event selects the organizer's event, and not the one from my calendar... Consequently, the event "going" confirmation won't answer for me, but for the organizer.
Very useful extension. Can't believe I didn't try looking for something like this before. There is just one bug right now where the events that are merged leave an open space / a new blank line on the day in a month view. If that could be fixed, that'd be 5 stars!
Thank you so much for fixing this so it worked with the new Gcal! I love this extension!
This multi-event problem in gcal was slowly driving me nuts and after several years I finally searched for a solution and found this in 30 seconds. Should have looked earlier! Now I'm off to look for the same thing for the android version of gcal...
Fantastic tool for people who have to copy work events to private calendars to share their travel plans with family. Wish it were possible to have more control over colours though... high contrast stripes make it hard to read entries. Fix that for 5 stars.
Finally I don't have to see the same events 3 times in my Google calendar anymore. Thank you so much!!
The only thing I wish I could still do is to connect two events that might not have the same data on them. Sometimes I have things on 2 different calendars that have different names or different start times, but they are really the same event, I wish I could some how select the two and merge them.
Love this extension for combining my work and personal calendar. Thank you for making it work on Google's new calendar update.
So happy that it's gotten the update for the new calendar. Definitely an essential extension for juggling multiple calendars!!
I love this extension and recommend it to everyone I know. I really appreciate the update to working with the new UI.
Now that it's working with the new interface, 5 stars!!
Loved this from the old Google Calendar, and now it's working on the new one too! :D
Looks great, however as mentioned by others, the spaces are still currently still visible where the merge events are. Look forward to seeing this resolved! Otherwise it does exactly what I need!
I JUST NOTICED that it hiding merged events in the all-day area, but leaving spaces. Love this extension. Makes google Calendar sooooo much better when you have a lot of overlap on multiple calendars. Hope it gets updated to work in the New google Calendar soon.
Working again for the new calendar! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
UPDATE: And just a few days later there's an update for the new calendar. Thank you Amy, and other people helping on GitHub. :) ---- Been using this with the old Google Calendar for a long time and loved it. I'm patiently looking forward to an update for the new Calendar. :)
Great News - It's back and working in the new UI. Well done people, I'm sure it was no easy task.
Loved it.... then the update to calendar killed it... and Amy came back and got it going again!!!! It works with the new calendar! Thank you Amy!!!!!
With the new GCal update this doesn't work any longer. I loved it in the old format!!! Any plans to update??!!! I see this is the most common theme as of lately but yet no answer from dev....how come? For this I drop my rating until it is working as FAB as it was before!
Love it! Please make it compatible with the new google calendar.
As others have said. I loved the way this simplified my calendars and I miss it in the new format. I hope the devs plan to update soon. Please!
This is not compatible with the new version and now that Google has forced it down our throats I really miss the Event Merge functionality. I am still marking 5-stars because I love it and I hope devs will fix soon. I love this app, I hate to see the repeat entries for the several calendars I see.
Broke in the latest update - any plans to fix it?
Was good until google updated their calendar. I loved it, very helpful. But until they update it to work with new gcal interface, it's non-functional.
I have dropped a star as it is now not working with the New Google Calendar. I see there are a number of other user complaints to pls pls pls upgrade.
Love the functionality, just needs updating for the new look Google Calendar
pls update w/ new format!!
Great extension, but doesn't work with the new Google Cal :(
Awesome extension, would rate 5 stars except that it doesn't yet work on the new google calendar! Any plans to update this?
Awesome. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the updated google calender web app anymore :(
rating is 'loved it' but that's past tense. Please update when you can to work with new google calendar format.. thanks!
I agree with others - love this. Will there be an update for the new gcal format?
I loved it before the new google calendar format update. Any plans to update to work with new gcal?
I LOVE this extension but... Since it only works in classic GCal, it won't work come February when we have to switch to the new Google Calendar. Please update!
Must-have!
It should be zero stars if you want it to work with the new version of Google Calendar - because it doesn't.
Needs to be updated for the new google calendar. I love this app and will give it the 5 stars it deserves when it is updated. Thank you to the publishers
Needs upgrade to support new google calendar layout
But what about New Calendar??
The extension I never knew existed, and now I can't live without it. Makes Google Calendar so much easier to use. No more having to look at duplicated events!
I love this tool!
This is exactly what I was looking for, executed exactly how I imagined it.
Great tool. It would be nice if you could get it to apply to the print preview as well.
Great concept, but it doesn't work for me. Merged one random event partially and nothing else for beyond that.
Works great for me. What is missing: does not merge in agenda view What I would change: remove spaces between events
Love this extension! It could be even better if I can select one event from each of multiple calendars that are the same event but with a different title and merge those. An example, I schedule something on someones Calend.ly page and the event is added to my Gcal. Then the confirmation from my source also adds a calendar event to my Gcal, but the title is different and the calendar is different. I'd like to manually identify these as the same event to merge.
Works fine for weekly view, but it doesn't help as much for monthly view (because of the white space), and that's primarily what I use.
This is amazing. Removing the whitespace would be great, but just this is a great improvement.
Excellent extension.
I really love it overall. It looks beautiful when it works and it works a vast majority of the time... but sometimes I have to delete and duplicate the event to a calendar a second time to make the merge work/look right. I would also like the option to tell two events to merge even if they don't have exactly the same information.
Thank you for your continued development! I couldn't live without this extension.
THIS IS A GREAT FEATURE IF YOU MANAGE MULTIPLE CALENDARS!
Truly a significant advancement for Google Cal for anyone dealing with multiple people and multiple schedules. The developer is also super responsive and friendly.
Would love to have an ability to change the font color. As some of my calendars are dark/black as I have over 50. Thank you so much.
Simple extension that works exactly as described, no less no more. I have a screwy setup due to having to sync a Outlook calendar with my GCal. This tool makes my view so much less cluttered.
It works! I manage a large team and this is great to reduce clutter when I'm trying to schedule team events. However, it seems when the event is only between myself and one other person it doesn't merge.
I use Google Calendar everyday for meetings with a large distributed team. This is awesome. It definitely had decluttered my calendar.
Live saver as my wife is constantly inviting me to private events and shares her calendar with me.
Just what I've been wishing for!
This should be a standard Google Calendar feature. Significantly improves the UX. Thanks!
can download
Awesome concept with the multi-color striping. It allows me to see events shared by multiple individuals without stacking
Love it but would really really love it if it added a toggle button to the calendar UI somewhere. Sometimes it is hard to edit the correct event when they are merged. I'd like to be able to un-merge, edit the correct event, and then re-merge.
Instantly clears up many appointments for me. However there is a use case that doesn't seem to be included: I can see 4 calendars from the perspective of mine - My wife, my son's, my daughter's, and mine. If MY calendar is involved in the event, it seems to merge fine. However, if there's an event on my Son/daugther's calendar, but not on mine, It doesn't merge them. There are a number of things they do without me that I'd like to see, and have merged. Thanks! Too bad there's not this merge feature with ALL calendaring software.
This seriously clarifies all the unwanted confusion{s}of sorts!,whilst trying to maintain a clear track of multiple calendars!to which takes up valuable and sometimes precious time. yes, this is definitly a 'must-have!Thanks guys.
For those of us who share our calendars with others (ie family members), this gets rid of all duplicate events and makes your calendar displays much easier to deal with!
Works exactly as described!
Love this extension. I've been looking for an option to move away from Cozi and this solves our biggest hurdle. Now if only there was a way to make this work on mobile devices.
I love the extension, but it seems to be creating issues for me. When scheduling, it seems this extensions is messing with the scheduler. I can't move the time slot or edit anything on the scheduling page. Pretty sure it's not intentional, but the issue started after I enabled this extension, and disabling it fixes it. Hope you can investigate. Happy to provide more details to help troubleshoot if needed - because the extension itself is too handy to pass up.
This is awesome and should be included as part of goggle calendar's functionality. I'd really like to have a way to choose which event I'm editing when I click to open a merged event. Or at least have an button on the top right of the browser that I can click to quickly disable/enable the plugin. Thanks!
