Does not work as of late 2022. It appears the last update to restore function was 2013, and should be removed as "out of date". Would be great functionality if someone else wants to take on the idea.

On a Mac - the extension does not work as described. Still unable to play WAV files in Gmail. Not sure why this extension is still available.

Would liked to have loved it, but as many others have reported, it simply didn't work for me and attached wav files in gmail.

Ok, read all the reviews that said it did not work and looked at the 2 star rating. Our phone system uses WAV files emailed and had to find something. So I tried it and it worked. I am on a MAC so not sure if that made a difference.

Stopped working! Player not showing up. It shows that it is "enabled" but deleting and re-installing does not work.

Good idea, but doesn't work for me on OSX Mavericks/Chrome 31.0.1650.48 trying to play Vonage wav files. The player shows but the play button is greyed out and performs no action. Reloaded the tab, same problem. Restarted Chrome entirely, same problem.

The bug where the player didn't show up is fixed as per the notes, but the play button is greyed out and won't actually play. How is getting a WAV file to play inline such a huge task? (OSX 10.8.5)

This rarely works. I don't know why it works sometimes, but most of the time, the player never shows up.
Is anyone at Google working on this? I'm another Mac user and would like to be able to play .wav files without downloading them. I can do this on my android phone but not my computer. Really? Please get this fixed. Thanks!

Totally Useless It almost never appears, and when it does the buttons are disabled. Don't waste your time.
Plugin shows up, but nothing happens when you click the slider to play the message. If it starts to work, I'll update my rating. I have Chrome: 28.0.1500.71

I REALLY want this to work!! If I refresh my Gmail about three times I can sometimes get the player to appear. I'm not sure why this extension is so off and on. I would GLADLY pay $ to have a working unit.

Great idea but it simply doesn't work. I get the player appearing onscreen next to the wav file okay, and for the first split second the play arrow is white, but then almost immediately changes to a grey, and then you can't press play, and can't play the file.
The actual player only even shows up half the time. But never worked. Not once.
trying to deploy for a client but this tool is not working for anyone. we are all testing it for use with Google Apps for Business. all using latest version of chrome on macs

Has potential, but unfortunately only catches maybe 5% of my voicemail attachments. Sent technical suggestion to author last year, and that's that.

Windows 7 SP1 x64, Chrome Version 26.0.1410.64 m I usually have to refresh the whole browser to get the player visible, but when the page finishes loading, the play button dims, looking like the wav file was unloaded or something. The email is coming from an Asterisk based pbx system.
Works fine in Google Chrome (v. 26.0.1410.43) on a Mac, to listen to WAV files generated by Voipfone. Delighted to see it works with Google Apps too. Had to close & reopen the email tab - but worked without having to restart Chrome. Occasionally, had to click on the messages twice (hence the 4 stars instead of 5), but on second viewing the player worked just fine. Thank you - a very useful extension!
Player appears but doesn't load audio. Chrome 26.0 Windows 7 x64 SP1. To be fair, listing says it works with Chrome 9.0 on XP.

Great idea, but it doesn't appear to work? I can't see anything in either gmail or google apps. What am I supposed to see? Is there a manual?

This works occasionally at best. When it works, it's great. But considering the plugin only loads about 10% of the time, it's more trouble than it's worth.
