Highly recommended. There were some issues, but they have been solved. The developer's willingness to provide excellent customer service makes this extension stand out from the rest.

Great highlighter compared to the rest but would be nice if the "notes" dialog focused on the notes section and not the tags section every time it pops up since I always write notes but I don't always use tags so I have to press tab every time. Not sure if this is similar for other people.

Issue with downloaded PDFs. It was working marvelously on a pdf in a browser. I didn't want to mark up a website so I downloaded the article to my computer. I then opened a browser tab to view the PDF and it wouldn't allow me to mark it up. Read the directions and went into the extension manager to select "allow access to file URLs" and it closed all my marked up articles on the web and the icon is now showing "off" even though the manager shows it as on. I'm very upset. I did an hour's worth of work on my research and now it's all gone and I can't get the articles back. I can go into my account on their website and see my markup but I can't get the document back onto the browser.

its good. some feature requests: 1. make the highlights visible on scroll bar (for easy navigation) 2. mark he highlights which contain your tags and notes (so we don't have to use different color for such minute thing)

I have worked with many highlighter extensions so far, but this one is the best. It's user-friendly and simple, and more importantly, you will not lose your highlights suddenly.

The extension is constantly being worked on, the developer clearly wants to deliver a great experience and that is something that is hard to find these days. 5 Stars, great product, would recommend!

This is very well-designed and very intuitive to use. I've tried a lot of highlighting and bookmarking extensions and none felt as effortless to use as Web Highlights. I like so much about this - the small, unintrusive highlighter that pops up when you select text (so many others have ugly, cumbersome bars), the interface of the sidebar, and the layout of your notes on the dashboard. I especially love that you can copy to markdown, as I like to save all my notes to Obsidian. My only concern is I don't see any way to export or backup all my data. It actually makes me feel nervous to settle into using Web Highlights without this option. I've taken off one star for this, because I feel it's such an important option to have. There are also a few features that could be added/improved. Directories are mentioned but I don't see any way to add them. It would be nice to be able to add tags from the dashboard. Bulk deleting and bulk tagging would also be useful (these are necessary IMO if you are later saving your highlights/notes elsewhere, so you can either remove them or tag them as copied).

Hands down - the best extention out there for highlighting/annotating PDF's. This has really made my life easier. Thank you!

This is the best highlighting/annotating solution I've found so far! Works also with PDF's saved at my computer, and the highlights are easy to organize and find later. Freemium works fine, and I think the Premium is fairly priced.

I really enjoyed this extension and it's features like export to notion. Tbh, it was really relieving to discover a chrome tool that can reliably make highlights both on web pages as well as my local pdf documents. Big respect to the team.

The interface seems clean, but it doesn't seem to work on Gmail (mail.google.com). Edit: I have updated this from 3 stars to 4 stars based on the reasoning provided by the author. It seems to be a clean plugin and would be useful for highlighting text elsewhere.

It's nice, but the highlighter doesn't work on google drive, which is why I got it. I think it's supposed to, but there must be a bug.

Out of all the other trash out there. This one is legit as of today. It works how it was intended.

I've been looking for a good way to keep track of certain tabs across various browsers where I sign in with different identites such as work or private profiles. This app presented me with a way in which I could create a reference system independent of my favourites or bookmarks - depending on which Chromium based browser you refer to. I keep discovering new ways of making it work for me and already it has become an integral tool in the way I use the internet.

Very useful app for students who like to keep their readings/observations/findings organized. Definitely deserves 5 stars!

not working

After searching for so long, came upon this extension and it delivers all it offers! I am still new to this but am already loving it. The comprehensive intro, tags and notes options, clean UI, neat labelling system, quick support response.... it is all a student like me needs! A huge thank you to Mr. Bongarts for this tool

App looks really good. One question though, how can I create folders? I can add tags and notes, but cannot find a way to assign a snippet to a folder. Or is it only available in the premium version? Thanks!

Absolutely love it. The widget was a little unnecessary, so I was debating giving it 4 starts, but found out you can turn of on/off. (as well as with the marker). Thank you so much for developing it.

once I highlight I cant change the color or de select it

Works very well I can look at my other highlighted sentences from other website too, LOVE ITT!!

I am working my way through the AWS Training content through AWS's site. The highlights and tagging capabilities are making it SO SO SO easy to take notes while I am learning the content. The floating icon that allows me to quickly view my highlighted content makes it very quick to go back and see what I've highlighted and remove it if necessary. So pleased with this tool!

it's a little buggy, yes it was highlighted, but everytime i leave/comeback or refresh the page the highlight won't highlighting the text that i highlighted and mess it around

FINALLY! I just need to highlight words on any website and this actually works. Granted I need to sign up to save information. I had to try 3 different "web word highlighters" and landed on this. PHEW! Harder to do in Google Docs cz Gdocs is an app. But I would like to see it integrated into the Gdocs itself..like Grammarly.
