I also fell prey to the surprise paywall after editing a document for over an hour. I started the free trial and do like the features and ease of use. I have encountered some glitches in the first week but if they don't continue to be a problem, I will keep it. It REALLY is in their best interest to be more upfront in the beginning to avoid the appearance of them being a scam. It isn't a scam, it is just poorly presented. I hate Adobe and I refuse to pay their high prices so this $8 basic seems reasonable so far.

Short: Scam Long: The extension may initially appear to offer free usability, but when attempting to export, print, or interact with the file outside of the extension, users are required to sign up for a trial of the 'premium' features. There is no alternative for accessing the edited file without incurring a cost. Unfortunately, this misleading approach is a complete scam, and I would advise avoiding it.

It is clugy is an understatement. BUT if you stick with it .....self instruction / exploration....the functionality jumps out at you, and you take a deep breath....because it exceeds expectations. Some of you naysayers: remember Adobe, etc., etc., in their early days? Those products were painful in their infant versions...now they all work, don't they? Stick with pdfFiller, it won't dissapoint you. (No ties to the vendor) PS: My brain surgeon doesnt work for free. Stop grossing about the $$$

Difficult to edit and after allt he time you spend editing, guess what. The let you know that it's only a trial. And the ''best'' part? In order to start the trial they ask for credit card number etc.

A very clever way to earn money - they do a delayed subscription and make you pre-approve them for future billing without giving options to cancel the subscription. Here's a tip how not to be screwed if you used paypal - go to Settings > Payments > Manage automatic payments in your PayPal, on the left choose PDFfiller, inc and press Cancel on the right part of the screen next to "Active". It will cancel your billing agreement with the company, i.e. cancel your approval to be billed in 30 days. Stay safe and don't feed the scammers. Best wishes.

PDF Filler brings you to an external website. I spent 20 minutes filling out the PDF and then couldn't export it unless I paid $8. Waste of time.

This isn't free, it's a trick to make you invest your time filling out a form, only to find out that you have to subscribe to a service to save your work. Don't waste your time on this scammy extension.

didn't work. opening the pdf I wanted to edit did not trigger any of the windows which the video said would open. I could do nothing other than press a worhtless icon

Wasted my time editing a doc only to find out you need to pay before you save it. Very misleading. It's almost like a scam. You should inform the users about the payment first or at least give a limit for free users. Don't use this

Deceptive. Not free... I'm tired of these freemiums. I signed up for a free trial and cancelled it immediately after using it for editing a PDF. I still got charged $1.50.

Filled out my form, then learned that it costs money to use. Waste of my time. Uninstalled it right away. Had to install it again just so I can write a review so I did it. Not free and it should state that clearly.

Huge waste of time. I spent an hour filling out a form only to have the program tell me I needed to sign up with my credit card in order to save the form. This bait and switch is abusive!

PDF filler made it easy for me to convert PDF forms into fillable forms - selling my home I had quite a few real estate forms that weren't initially set up for form filling (like the dsiclosure forms) PDF filler was easy to use and fill out forms. Minor quibble - using some standard navigation keyboard controls would jump back to the top of the document. If you unsubscribe from the service make sure you click the second confirmation. Customer service was very responsive in online chat and was able to answer questions and resolve my issue with the confirmation above. Overall very happy with what pdffiller did for me when I needed it.

nice tool, helps a lot when working with pdfs

Wasted my time on this extention that do not even tell if they need a $8 simply for downloading a pdf.

A1 program, B grade execution. This app has potential to lock the market out with its ease of use, but the subscription based model is no good. Id be willing to buy the app, but to pay continuously for it when I'd likely only use it a few times a year isn't happening. The 30 day trial helps but I'd like to see more purchase options.

Rubbish!! I spend hourly to edit my urgent document and cannot free save the document at last!! Payment also unable after I key-in the card number!!! WHAT THE POINT? FREE CANNOT SAVE!! WANNA MAKE PAYMENT TO GET EDITED DOCUMENT ALSO FAIL!!! Next time I should view the rating before edit any document!!!! Totally waste my time!!!!

Spent an hour editing only to find it needs a subscription to download. Set view to 100% and my pc screen to landscape. Took a cropped screenshot and printed that. Looks great. Guess it was free in the end :-)

Absolute ripoff, after you have edited the pdf you will have to pay 8$ to be able to save it/share it/actually use it. Doesn't mention anything until you want to export it. Save your self time and don't even bother with this, instead report this software and give it 1 star.

Why is this in the free category section of Chrome extension. It is not free, after editing the PDF, filling up the PDF form and when you finish it state you need to make a payment in order to save it.

Absolute garbage model- Works to fill in pdfs rather nicely. OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for an add on to Chrome. Doesn't mention paying until you've finished your form, and then PLACES A HOLD ON YOUR CARD for the free trial. Deception like this is why I dual boot my chromebook. The OS doesn't function unless you use Chrome, which is fine, but then companies like this one abuse the way that the model works. May rats eat their valuables.

It keeps glitching I broke my wrist and I had to use this for classes and when I wanted to keep my answers it said please subscribe for $6 per month should be more clear one star

It is a rip off. You make your pdf then they try to charge for it. It should be clear from the start that it is a scam not a viable extension.

Doesn't work, makes a big show of being added as part of your extensions and then when you go to use it nothing actually happens. (Also, the only way you can open it to show the extensions features is if you go to the document on your computer and right click open it in chrome, but then when you click anything else nothing happens.) Good try though and I'm happy that we're getting options and that others are aware that it sucks that adobe keeps us hostage like this.

Wouldn't allow me to make even basic edits, the "edit and fill" button did not work. Fiddled with settings and restarting browser to no result. Also would constantly open blank tabs while trying to use the extension and while trying to google a fix. Quickly uninstalled.

beware - bait and switch This extension will seem to install freely and makes no mention of the fact that it is payware. Once you've opened a PDF and spent a bunch of time editing it, your end product is held hostage by forcing you into an account creation process followed by the requirement to register for a paid subscription service. This might be the best solution on earth for editing PDFs in chrome, but based on this extremely shady and extortionist business tactic I will never, ever, ever, pay them.
