I use this and Grammarly; the overlap has made me a better writer. Some of the suggestions are too grammatically perfect, so when you are being purposefully stupid or sarcastic on purpose, it will let you know it. Overall, I'm glad there are integrated tools that help people make their point succinctly. (I rewrote this three times because I wanted to make human inflections.)

It is really helpful, and provides me instant correction for the errors.

Excellent feature, educational as well since it explains WHY the suggested change. Only issue is that is may encourage us to ‘dummy down’ because the program will save our butts.

I like it over the free version of Grammarly so far. I have had some issues with the recommendations not automatically changing after clicking the suggestion, leaving me to manually change errors. But if it continues to work as it is right this moment, I will be very happy. Also, I think it should be completely free even for the "premium" features. MS could just offer it in return for gathering all of the typed text they can collect. There are enormous implications for NLP development based on gathering user data about what words are typed in what order by real humans.

Finding Microsoft Editor very helpful

Excellent program. Picks up the smallest error in spelling and grammar. Invaluable, especially in today's fast paced world. I love it!

Exceptionally helpful. Even in my mother tongue which is Afrikaans! It somehow just does not work whilst I am typing this rating, as every word is underlined in red. Dalk moet ek dit in Afrikaans tik. Yep!!! Nou werk dit weer soos 'n bom! As it is currently set to Afrikaans, it is attempting to correct me which is unbelieveably great!!!

Not being an English major in college, I find this app is especially helpful in preventing making one look like a fool when either posting online, or writing, as I am currently, various history pieces based on my family's presence in North America since the early 17th century. Only problem is the app keeps wanting to correct 17th and 18 century English, even when the entry is a direct quote from a historical document, contained within quotation marks. Just wish it would accept a quotation as written rather than constantly wanting to correct the entry when using Editor within a piece. Highly recommend this app!

Two annnoying aspects: its VERY american, so some spelling is just wrong, some common words are not known !! Secondly, every few hours a HUGE popup message appears requesting i "sign in" to something somewhere which i repeatedly refuse. But its so persistant, im looking for an alternative.

I have changed my review of this as with the most recent update it appears to have broken the extension. I am not sure about it's functionality within Edge, but in Chrome it will mark grammar and spelling errors but gives no suggestions when you click on the error. If I could rate it ZERO stars I would.

I cannot imagine writing without it. However, the interface is a bit cumbersome, a bit tedious.

I teach on line and use the Word dictate function. The editor catches my mistakes every time. I also use "read out loud" to review things before I post them. All these features make my job so much easier.

Great tool, just wish it worked across all sites equally. Works about 90% of the time and is great when it does.

Has a lot more flexibility and usefulness with a steeply reduced cost in comparison to other products.

The editor does help with grammer and spelling, however, with something writing sites, the outlining of the errors appears in the wrong space. Besides that, it also gives helpful word choice.

Es una aplicación bastante buena y provee la mejor funcionalidad de corrección para navegadores, pero después de un tiempo usándola la desinstalé y estoy buscando con qué sustituirla. Tiene un severo problema de diseño, su configuración. La extensión valida una licencia de Microsoft 365 para usar más o menos capacidades, lo cual está bien, no es una aplicación gratuita y de algo tienen que vivir. El problema viene de que diario que cierro el navegador y al día siguiente que lo abro, me saca del registro de la licencia y siempre todos los 365 del año tengo te meter mi usuario de M365 diariamente. Eso es un ¡Gran y Enorme Fastidio!, pero lo realmente molesto, es que en cada una de esas ocasiones me vuelve a pedir seleccionar toda la misma configuración que ya metí los 364 días anteriores. Eso es ¡Triplemente un Gran, Gran Enorme Fastidio! Eso es simplemente una negligencia y error de programación. Almacenan la configuración de cada usuario registrado de manera local. ¡Por Dios! si ya están sacando dinero de alguna manera con algún tipo de licenciamiento, guarden en la nube 1 (una, si una) sola vez la configuración de cada usuario, y bájenla en automático cada vez que el usuario se registra sin provocar más incomodidades. Después, con los usuarios sin registro, obviamente guarden la configuración de manera local, pero Nunca, Nunca, Nunca, y le repito, les reitero, NUNCA la borren, ni siquiera por un usuario registrado. ¡En serio! Estoy tan fastidiado, que ya estoy buscado remplazo. Solo lo conservo en uno de mis perfiles un tiempo razonable por si en Microsoft se les prende el foco y lo arreglan.

Extremely Helpful, and a great productivity tool

This is super helpful. I have to navigate through various platforms from different employers and it has been an excellent addition.

I currently use Microsoft Editor in two languages on chrome, and find it super helpful! I would love to see an easier switch between formal and informal modes, but with that being the only hangup, I'm happy enough.

Really very useful...although sometimes, I ignore some of the suggested changes because they do not suit the finite hints of my messages.

This is by far the best tool to use when writing. Awesome.

The Editor app is very helpful in checking both grammatical and spelling errors. It isn't perfect and an individual must take responsibility for looking at the suggested change and seeing if it really applies to the circumstance. That being said, the fact that it monitors your typing input is appreciated and provides very applicable changes most of the time.

Loved it, was thinking to myself would love this in a Legal writer way also. Just helping with Ideas! This is the era of people awakening of reading and typing and writing more!

This extension works reasonably well and is generally accurate. It does a good job at correcting grammar and spelling. However, If the first character is mistyped or a vowel is missed, it may not provide the proper spelling. In comparison to other free extensions I've used, it's very good. Thank you for making this available for free.

It is a little better than just okay, but it is geared toward business rather than casual conversation so it shows errors or suggestions when they're not necessary.

This tool knows very well what grammatical errors you make while writing. I find it very useful when I’m writing – whether it's a simple mail or long articles.

Not totally perfect, not totally excellent, but hugely useful even to expert native English speakers. I can only imagine the fantastic boon this is to people with imperfect English. It makes me so sad when I read amateur articles and amateur fiction with mistakes in it that would have easily been found and corrected if the author had used this tool. And Microsoft Editor further improves every year. This is an excellent tool for those writing factual papers and fiction in the English language.

This is the best editor hands down and beats the pants off of all the other, no competition! Actually, the other ones really suck compared to this (and to think that I paid for the others), it's amazing that the Microsoft Editor is free.

So far, Editor is great. It allows me to write in a professional tone and remain concise. The only feedback I have for the extension, is when used with Google Docs, it takes a few moments for Editor to process that something may not be an error. I also wish that you could change your intended voice so be able to have more helpful corrections.

Very good and useful app. I use it very much, practically constantly for both my languages: English and Russian. It's a little weaker on some punctuation and capital lettering issues, those are very different in my languages. But I use it along with LT and it works very good. Editor is perfect in spelling correction. And it is free.

I think I was unkowingly CHARGED for this!!! I was not asked to pay for this but the charge just showed up. Wonder why this happened. Also, finding it a bit obtrusive in my non-microsoft writing apps. What a mess!

I really like it, especially how it integrates with virtually all my programs. Yes, it can be a little too precise but you can choose to ignore the suggestions. Overall, it has helped tremendously

Great app. Very useful and helpful.

This is a good app BUT, it goes way too far in trying to oversimplify - especially when writing technical information. Additionally, there are many words in common usage that are correctly spelled, but are flagged as errors in the app, and with no means of being able to add the corrected common usage spelling to the spell check dictionary. This leads to frustration as, despite hitting the ignore button, the app continues to flag as an error. This has the potential to be a GREAT app, but needs that extra bit of functionality (adding the ability to add words in common usage to the spell check dictionary would be nice).

It still has a lot of learning to do when you have to use 3 different languages daily.

I like this.I think that it still could use some features like grammarly's side feature and more but overall good app. I would reccommend doing something like a side pannel or a totally changed tab to a editor tab that gives you excess features. Anyhow good app hope to see stuff soon.

So far I like it although even this version has trouble with many of my miss spelled words. The word mirror is not found correctly when it's spelled ie. mirow or merow.
