Agreed! 10 entrees can easily be too restrictive. in any case I found a better app, no restrictions, and it highlights your search in the results making it easier to read and shows the URL! It is called 'Bookmark Express'
a bug:it makes bookmarks import(10000+bookmarket) stumbed!
This extension is so essential for people who rely on bookmarks, and it works at it's best. Nice designs, really fast and very convenient!! Great job, folks!
Works brilliantly!
I've been waiting for years for chrome to build something like this in their browser. Thank you Holmes for creating a tool we need
我只想说 awesome!
Simple, effective, fast. That's all I needed and that's what I got with Holmes. I have tons of bookmarks and started using tags in the titles in order to find them but the omnibox's instant search mixed in the results with history items and was not always clear which one was my bookmark. Then I started using Bookmark Manager, but there I couldn't figure out a good way to do the whole process without having to use the mouse because the focus would leave the search box and I either had to use the mouse, or press Tab a ton of times, to get it back. With Holmes I just set up a keyboard hotkey combination (I preferred a simple Alt+H) so when I press it then I type in a few characters of the bookmark's tag (title keyword) press Enter and I'm there. I love this simplicity! It's now added to my "must have" extensions because it does increase efficiency.
Enable us to search & open whole bookmark folders!
I never knew I wanted this until I used it; this is just so easy and useful. Loved it!
Not even close to being practical if your bookmarks are in the 10,000's
very neat, exactly what I am looking for
Having a million bookmarks makes it hard to get what i needed fast, then Holmes came along and solved the case, the culprit was loading to the tab faster than ever :D
i think its so good . perfect
Extremely useful... one of the best extensions ever -- but why limit the results list to only 10 entries? For people like me with thousands of bookmarks (many with the same keyword in them) it would be an even better tool if the results were 20 entries... or 30... Why not include an option to choose how many entries to display on the settings? But even with only 10 results, it's still a great tool. Thanks!
good
Really clean. It does the job and does it well.
A really handy and well-done extension, thanks Jesse!
Wonderful extension! Only suggestion is to set a timeout so the input focuses when you type the popup keyboard shortcuts.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! THIS EXTENSION IS EXCELLENT!!! I FOUND IN A SECOND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AN HOUR!!! I HAVE 5000 BOOKMARKS AND THIS TOOL IT HELPS ME A LOT! GOD BLESS YOU!
I am a big fan of this extension, but the last couple of weeks I noticed that it is redirecting http://localhost to http://free-merchants.com. This seems really fishy and there's a big possibility of some kind of phishing/spamming attack. Hopefully the redirection is a security hole in this extension and not an intentional attack by the developers, in which case I will have to report the extension and obviously delete it. Just looking into the code of the extension. I'll add another review with more details.
Clean, intelligent, and impressive. I was looking for something to sort my bookmarks, but then I found this. This tool will make using bookmarks so much easier. Highly recommended!
amazing!!
HOLMES|Nothing escapes Him My First & Favorite go-to extension. Very simple, clever & efficient. Watson assists effectively.
still/ust in love with this tool since its first versions
z best
excellent
Would be nice to show a list of the favourite bookmarks on the pop up
It is a nifty little tool that is almost there, but not quite for what I needed it do. I was hoping to be able to find 'all' the subjects I originally bookmarked quickly and easily with a single app, just like a regular search engine. I thought this was it, but the limit of only '10' per search out of my thousands of bookmarks rendered this app useless to me, as it only reached skin deep. I just have to uninstall and stick with the original "Bookmark Search", until I find something that does what I need it to do. Update: Neater Bookmarks does that, even though it is not as fast as Holmes, it just gives more results which is what I need. If Holmes can offer the option to show more than 10 or all results, then I would definitely switch back to this little app, as it is fast and smooth but limited.
On a Mac, I usually use Alfred v2. On a Chromebook, this is the next best thing.
"*" omnibar shortcut does nothing...
This was fantastic. However, I have experienced a reduction in functionality on both windows and linux such that Holmes is no longer keyboard-friendly. The "*" omnibar shortcut does nothing with Holmes when you press Enter. It only works when you click the results. I've tried the Alt-Shift-H shortcut as a substitute, but even that seems fickle; it doesn't always work. (on a positive note, the new, cleaner look is very nice) I'm switching to "Bookmark Search"
now that omnibox integration is back... I love it!
very nice
i wish i could define hot-key myself, i'm not very comfortable with alt+shift+h
Just wanted to say that I love this extension and use it all the time. Thank you.
Though similar extensions are also good, 'Holmes' is really most elegant one I've used, hence 5 stars for it. And another reason is that I am also big fan of Shelock:)
I'd like it to have an option to show me what folder a link is in plus to expose folder names in searches. Very valuable tool.
Good but can be painfully slow. Maybe I just have too many bookmarks...but that's exactly the problem Holmes tries to solve! It's quicker to hit ctrl/shift/o and search in bookmarks manager. If Holmes offered something extra, such as telling me which folder it found the bookmark in, that would make it worthwhile. As it is, I'm afraid Holmes has to go.
Awesome.. but the omnibar integration does not seem to work for me.
Sleek. Simple. Efficient. Well-done!
Really handy - makes bookmarks almost usable on Chrome. Ability to support tags for Bookmarks and it would be perfect.
Oh Yes! Was looking for something like this for a while.
Excellent extension, but it needs quick-key access.
Brilliant. Holmes will brighten your day, bring a smile to your face, heal the oceans, and quite possibly, bring about lasting peace by way of helping world leaders find their bookmarked data points. If you're not using Holmes, you're an idiot. As for the Google Chrome team, why the hell isn't this part of core? Seriously, come on. Five stars only because you can't go higher.
With Neat Bookmarks gone, this is the next best thing.
