One of the few essential extensions I keep in Chrome. Customizable, unintrusive, and really lightweight in the browser.

Works well nearly everywhere. Question please: when I click in options, on "Open in New Tab" then Save, it doesnt save. SO when I open the document online the original window disappears. How can I force it to open in new tab automatically please? Thanks

I haven't really gotten the hang of it, however, i am most assured that with the reviews up above, it would certainly be worth a try for anyone and everyone!

Well designed extension and GUI. Works mostly as expected. IMO, it's missing three things: 1) none of the options save (open in new tab or file types) 2) it doesn't detect all the file types that the Google Docs/Drive Viewer can handle (e.g. javascript - .js) 3) it needs an option to turn off linking to the viewer as embedded

In the options page, save button do not work; therefore, can't change Options. could be more lightweight. should have some exception/whitelist. Update 1: Sometimes icon/logo disappears from the Search result.

Makes viewing Office files simple and pretty fast. Exactly what I needed.

Google docs has got me through all four years of my under grad. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who is in school or has children who are in school.

I need to view .csv file inside Chrome, but after installing this plugin, the link to the csv file still force me to download the csv file, while I only want to view the file directly inside Chrome at a new tab or at the current tab. It does not do what it pointed out to do. I am very upset about this. I will uninstall it right away.

Excelente, pois não precisa baixar mais os arquivos em (PDF, DOC) só clicar no ícone presente ao lado do link e visualizar.

opens zero files. not even shown in webstore, extension list, or when a file is double clicked. file can be on chromebook, in google drive, or on flashdrive, it can be double clicked or dragged and dropped, doesn't matter, the files do not open! chrome OS wastes another day of my time. is it this chromebook, the chrome OS, or both. i have none of these problems on mobile phones. super frustrating, gotta migraine now and no work done.

seems simple quick and unobtrusive and provides an easy option to view file links without the cumbersome process of downloading and opening, whilst still allowing you to do that when you want. Doesn't seem to remember options (for example 'open in new tab' option, after saving, close and reopen options it's unticked again). Sometimes doesn't use the best online viewer, csv and pdf for example are opened as google docs, I would prefer sheets and built-in pdf viewer instead.

Experienced the same problem as many others (re-downloading instead of opening file). Uninstalled extension and re-installed it and it worked. Must've had an old version. v128.2226.2237 working on Chrome 71.0.3578.98 + Ubuntu 18.04 + Gnome 3.28.

No need to download files individually when searching for documents online. With this tools, you can simply click and view directly from your browser.

Been going CRAZY trying to find a way to open doc with hot links - vs download as pdf. Problem solved!

Nice for public documents. Wish it could work with private documents, e.g. behind a login like docdb. I hope that A Google User will send me a nice message.

Does what it's supposed to. Makes opening Word documents quick and easy by converting to Google Doc.

It works great and did just what i needed it to at the time i needed it.

I really like it but it disabled my ability to use the settings while watching YouTube. I have to uninstall it so I can use YouTube properly :/

It works, but for some reason for me it has a bug where clicking the gear icon on youtube (to change the video quality, etc) doesn't make the options pop up. And when I right click the video, to get to the "stats for nerds" option, it leaves a single white stuck pixel in the video. Hopefully this will help the bug get fixed. No idea why this extension would be screwing with youtube, it even happens with all other extensions disabled.

It is too soon for five stars, only downloaded about an hour ago. one sugestion, get it to work on Chromebook File system.

The Docs online viewer for Chromebook is outstanding. It is able to view any type of doc and automatically translate for view and printing. All without any special actions. Awespme.

I have a newish hp which is totally bogged down by hp bloat and now that Microsoft is trying to force feed you all their bloat - well I missed the deadline to get free office suite so everything I'd click just tried to sell me their crappy office 365 junko. I could NEVER just open a document without hitting that deadend cause I am NOT gonna buy something they want to force me to buy. ANyway this is the SOLUTION! THANK YOU to the DEVELOPER who made it May you continue creating excellent solutions and I will continue to try them out and rate them honestly! Get it! Its excellent!

I really like this extension, now I don't have to download most of the documents.

Many of the listed formats do not read properly but it is otherwise a decent program.

Was looking to preview EPS files without opening them. As soon as I added the Docs Online Viewer extension to my chrome - I was able to view EPS files in dropbox without downloading first and opening in photoshop or AI - and without opening the Docs Online Viewer. A+

Useless. I installed the extension, Chrome still prompts me to save RTF files, and does not even open them in the browser after I do.

I added this because my Chromebook wouldn't open an rtf document that I'd downloaded. I went back to the site, clicked on the new icon, and there was the document! So easy; this is going to save me a lot of time.

I have a stupid microsoft. So, of course I have to buy a $65.99 personal office to get the chance to open a pdf and this is free and amazing. It's worth it to take a minute of my time to give it a great rating. :)

i like it. Very convenient on University computers where you cannot install your own software.

I need a package to view RTF docs from a vendor. Didn't want to purchase Word just for that. I receive the file and put it in my cloud storage, then I can open it with DOCS Online Viewer.
