I have wrritten the author and no reply for a month. Suggest you do the same.. [email protected] Stopped working in January 2023. Not comatable with new Chrome update. Plssibly using anb older version of chrome it might woork but you would need to disconnect from internet and then shut off Chrome updates. This is the kind of careless nonsense Google does that pisses people off. Google is getting worse every day. The king is dying.. Let hime die. 25 years of Google controlling most of the internet is way too long.

It doesn't work as of March 9th, 2023.

I can see the custom colors I chose but when I select it for an event it defaults to red.

Really needed it so badly to work on android mobile for my 26 employees to be each designated their own colour, looks like there's absolutely nothing out there to do the job, I had such high hopes with this too. Will there be any update to use it on android ??

Mr. Adam Chang!!! I love this app because it lets me have such cute colors for calendar!! But the glitches!!! I know you just fixed it a few weeks ago but it's glitching AGAIN and I can't select or add any colors at all!!!!! :((((( I would appreciate if you could fix it!!!!!!! Please and thank you :)

It is a really nice app, but I am having so many issues with it now. It keeps changing the look of my events and now it will not let me use the option of adding a custom colour which is super tiring. I do love how it makes my calendar look when it works

Great concept but it's super buggy. I wish google would just implement this officially, I had the base colours lol. I was trying to change the recurring events on my "class" calendar so they'd have different colours, but when I would try to change one it would glitch and change a bunch of others too. It seemed randomized because some would change and others wouldn't. Disappointing.

It worked since I installed it August of last year. All of a sudden, when I select a custom color, it turns itself into one of the preset colors instead of the custom ones. I hope this is a bug fixed soon since I really enjoyed it.

It worked so well for a few months, and then all of sudden about a month ago it stopped working. I would change the color iin the edit mode, save it, and it wouldn't change. And now, when I pick a new color and press save, it turns a random color like red or light orange. It's really stressful to no longer have the colors I worked how to set up for my calendar. Very buggy and not worth the trouble.

Works if I add hex codes. It is not as easy as I expected. I thought I would be able to choose from a selection of new color choices where the original Google ones are. Instead, there is now a plus mark by those colors. I can click it, then paste in a hex code, which I found online. Then, the new color appears with the original Google one and I can give it a label.

No need to try this extension. Adding custom colors to Calendar for Events are not possible essentially. Custom colors are invalid in Google Calendar Database. Only google developer team can resolve this out perfectly.

Just changed all my calendar recurring events to new colours. That functionality seemed to be working fine. Then I refreshed and now the calendar has random colours all over it and I'm going to have to spend another hour going back through and changing them all back again to standard Google colours as it's a complete mess now. Some weeks have no colours at all - some have randomly applied colours. Super buggy.

All customized colors are gone once I refresh the web. Please fix

I like the functionality but it still seems buggy - colors randomly changing or defaulting to all blue. When I edit an event to change some details, the custom color is sometimes changed to another custom color. Sometimes I get the 'change this and following' option, and sometimes not.

It started randomly changing some of my events to darker or lighter colors than what I set them as? Not sure why but from the looks of these reviews, the extension is known for being buggy. Disappointed

It was a really good extension. The issue of not having the colors show up was fixed but as of today, after the colors are changed, when google calendar is refreshed, they're gone

How can i set 1 colour to ALL repeating events? Repeating events only take the default color

Worked great a few months ago but doesn't really work now, have to do each event manually and half the time it won't save

Worked for about 5 mins, but after refreshing or closing/reopening my calendar the colors are gone. Sometimes they return after a few refreshes, sometimes they cause glitches (like my "tasks" suddenly losing their text). I spent about an hour color-coding events and now it's unusable. Also, does not work on repeating events, which is a huge chunk of my calendar.

This is really buggy... It's only adjusting some of the colors for my events and some have black text and some have white text and now all my colors in Google Cal are jumbled up. Removing the extension

I loved this extension up until the new update. It no longer works at all, as if the extension isn't even there. I've deleted/redownloaded it, refreshed the page, went through my settings, everything. Until this gets fixed, the extension is unusable.

This extension worked great for day or two (it's been 2 weeks). The calendar was coordinated by project so I was able to easily identify my appointments at a glance. The colours revert back to the default cal colour quickly. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling after the 7/22 "bug fix" - it doesn't work & recco settings of google sync are all enabled.

Thank you for taking the time to make this. **Amended** Sorry to report after 8 hours I revisited the calendar and 90% of the colour changes have been lost. 3 Star for functionality - July 2022 First ever install. Deliberately tried to experience some of the failures that other reviewers have reported. Thus far it has been working OK. Minor glitch changed color of previous entry as I edited the next but apart from that seems to be working well. Improvements such as changing white font to dark when background color is light would be great. But in the meantime. Good for the gettin'

I love the idea. I have an outlook calendar for work that's colour-coded. Due to high security in my office, I can't synch my outlook calendar to Google, so I forward all relevant appointments & invites to Google. I wanted to match the colour-coding with Outlook (I have like 15 different categories on outlook, Google only has 9-ish colours?) Anyways, great idea however when I go to change the colour of one appointment, it ends up changing a bunch of unrelated ones... at first I thought it automatically changed any appts coming from my outlook email, however some didn't change. it seems completely random as to which appts the extension is colour-coding :(

doesn't work anymore :( I used this to color code EVERYTHING in my google calendar and everything was going fine for about two months. Now I can't add any of my custom colors to new events, and all of my events that I had changed to custom colors before are all also the same original color now

I refreshed chrome, i uninstalled and reinstalled the extension 10 times, i restarted my computer. I've done everything. The extension never worked.

This extension was great for a few months. My calendar was color coordinated by project so I was able to easily identify my appointments at a glance. Then all of a sudden it quit working. Tried uninstalling & reinstalling - it didn't work. Unfortunately, when I uninstalled the extension, it removed all of the custom colors from my previous appointments. Truthfuly, we shouldn't have to rely on an extension to be able to have custom colors for our calendars. So I'm more frustrated with the limitations of Google calendar than I am with the extension.

I wanted this for so long, but the colors don't stay, unfortunately. If you have more than one calendar (eg. work and college) and you change a color in one of the events, if you need to hide that calendar and show it again, the new color settings are gone. That's a pity because I really wanted that for many years now.

I love this extension so much! It's currently not working for me though, Google erased all of my set hex codes and I no longer have the + option to add a new colour. Have permissions for this extension been removed? Would love to use it again

Loved this but does anyone see the issue where the base calendar color you were using is now showing but when you select certain events to change color all the colors you had previously added are gone? And the + button to add them is also gone? Loved this extension before this issue :( But reinstalling didn't fix it so not sure if it is a bug

It does not work at all. It shows no colors and just says click on color to remove it. super disappointed this isnt working. Ive deleted and redownloaded twice and still no luck.

Loved this ext at first. Having additional colors to organize with, and colors I actually like, was amazing, so I was so disappointed when the color coding kept reverting back to default color when I refreshed or logged back into Calendar. I see from the other reviews that I am not alone, and there is no long-term fix. I will be uninstalling and keeping my fingers crossed for an ext that actually works.

I love it so much, and super easy to use. Two things: I wish the sync worked with my phone, and it would be nice to change the text color as well, light colors can be hard to read. All together great, and I'd recommend it to anyone

The app had been working perfectly fine, but recently I've noticed some problems. First of all, colors are not appearing as I configured them. Also, they do not appear on the entire calendar, colors disappear one March is finished. I really love this app but I think we need updates and support in order to be able to keep using it.

Really love this extension but am having a few issues. I don't see an option to delete colors right now after I click the extension in the top right. Also, I can seem to change other people's event colors and it saves on the color swatch next to the event after you click on it, but it doesn't change in actual weekly calendar view. Hope these are resolved soon!

I really really wanted this to work but after spending 2-3 tiring hours working to change all my different events to specific colors, every time I refreshed it would result to the default colors of my calendar. Unfortunately the colors just didn't stick. Please let me know if this gets fixed, thank you!

I love this! Just wish I could apply it to Google Calendar on my phone and sync it up to match on phone and desktop.

This extension seems really cool, but I downloaded it and it's not working. When I'm on my calendar and I click it, it says, "Click on a color to remove it!", but there are no colors underneath, and there are also no colors added to my dropdown menu. I'm kind of confused about how this works.

This is nice! I didn't have the refreshing problem, but for repeating events, the color will only apply to the first event :/

So I just installed the extension. Love the ease of use in changing the colors for my calendar, and love how I can personalize everything. The one thing that bothers me is that for events that repeat, I am unable to change the other for all of them even though when I change the color and select apply to all events. It just changes color for the one event, and the rest that are repeated stays the same color. Is there a way to change colors for the same events that are repeated?

AMAZING!!!! This is like a must-have chrome extension for anyone planning with google calendar. I mean, the only other thing you need is a color wheel and there's plenty of good ones like color.adobe.com or htmlcolorcodes.com and many more that I don't even know about. All you do is copy the HEX code and enter it in. With this extension, you can make your calendar match your aesthetic! Highly recommend this.

The concept is good. Coming from someone who uses Google Calendar religiously, the need for additional colors is real. The application WOULD fix the problem, but it seems like it barely works. The new colors do not stay assigned when you reload the page, which defeats the entire purpose of the browser extension in the first place. It seems like the dev hasn't updated the program in nearly two years, so I've lost all hope of the issue being fixed at this point.

Fantastic work! Super easy to use and love how the color is "saved" and I can just delete it from the extension menu. I hope google implements something like this someday, but until they do, your version is the perfect solution. Much love from Arizona!

This is great, though it doesn't work for recurring events. Google Calendar's default eleven colors is rather limiting. ⭐⭐⭐⭐????

Love this extension, it made my calender look so much better. However, refreshing the page clears the custom colours, which kinda defeats the purpose. I would love to see this bug fixed. This would be 5/5 otherwise. Thanks for taking the time to create this!

It's ok.

I don't know which step I missed but I just can't add any color. That plus button just doesn't exist on my account.

When I create an event , I am able to choose the custom colors that I added (using this extn) , however once I hit 'save', the meeting item just shows in default color. I tried to log off and log in back , still the issue persists. Looks like a lot of the users have the exact same issue. Pls help.

colors don't stay! they don't stay for repeating events

So I am having issues with the extension. I can add the different colors to the events that I create and add to the calendar but if I try and change the color on any event that I did not create and schedule it defaults to the Google calendar blue. I like the functionality this extension would add but it needs to be able to change the color on any event in order to be really useful.

I love it and love that you can add any colour but I think it's a bit glitchy. I can only change a colour with right click on an existing event. When I make a new event the new colours don't show. If I dupicate the duplicated versions are in my default colour

Hi Adam, Love the ability to add a multitude of colours. There are however a few small things i thought could make this feel like a totally integrated google calendar extension! The colours for periods of time, like the ones you drag on the month section, just appear as blue when looking at them in the week or day mode. Then theres the slight glitchyness in the month mode. The colours we add glitch from blue to their intended colour when moving between months. Love the extension tho, as a programmer i know problems like these sometimes seem simpler than they are, but i would love for this to feel like a smooth addition to my calendar since i feel they really stick out :) Oh, and the plus when adding new colours is slightly off-center and its rather infuriating :P

I am experiencing a recurring issue: the colours do not stay once I put them in. The ext. will apply the colours however as soon as I refresh the page or log off and check the next day, the colours have reverted to the default calendar colours. It becomes incredibly tedious to recolour each event constantly. The ext. is easy to use and I especially love that you can add any colour using HEX codes. UNFORTUNATELY if this issue is not resolved, I will just uninstall it as reverting to default defeats the purpose.

This would be amazing if the colors actually stayed. Every time I reopen my calendar they all revery back to the default color.

Completely screwed up all my colours and now most of them won't stay put. Really annoying to have to constantly change them back! I removed the app and am still having problems with my colours randomly changing! Thanks for trying, but this just doesn't work.

It's a great idea, but it really doesn't work. I got to the part after installation where I was able to click the + sign, add a custom color (3 actually) using the hex code, and the colors now appear in my list of Google Calendar event/category color options. But when I go to apply those colors, nothing changes. I tried changing the color of existing events, existing recurring events, all day events, reminders, tasks, etc. When creating a NEW event, reminder, or task, the custom colors I set do not even show up in the options. Further, the colors would have to be replicated for EACH calendar, the colors you add do not get saved for use with other calendars or categories ..Great idea, and nice first attempt at an extensions (lord knows I could not have done even a fraction of what you did here), but sorry, the extension flat out does not work.

It would not let me create black using 000000. It stayed the same default blue. But it DID work for one other color, a brown color I created. Why won't it work with black??

not working when the event is full day event

Hi! I really like this extension so far :) My only critique thus far is that I wish there were a way to remove colors after I've added them...I have accidentally typed in the wrong hex code or have decided a color doesn't get used often, and it would be great to be able remove them from the little menu. Hi Adam - How do I delete a color once I have inserted a hexcode?

This is a great little extension. I work with multiple clients and I can now apply their corporate colour for easier identification on my calendar!

I really love the idea of this extension but it really only works for about half of my events :( I've had a ton of problems with the colors staying once I put them in and it does get really tedious to go back and recolor them ... The hex codes was a good idea but it feels pointless to work on organizing for hours only to come back and see that it reverted back to the default color.

This extension is great! One major downfall is that the color does not change for all day events... It is hard to keep everything color coded that way.

I loved this extension, but in the last two weeks the colors don't show up anymore. I keep adding them back and then next time I open up my calendar they're gone again! Is this a new bug that needs fixing? I really want to keep using this app!

Hi there, Is there a way to make the color coding visible to other users of the cal? I'm an executive assistant and schedule/ color code for others frequently. This would be SO useful if that was possible!

Great Work, Adam Cheng! I've been requesting this from Google for years. I'd love to see you take this even further, Adam. Future development wish list (in order of preference): —Mobile-Desktop functionality —Colour Palette/Wheel for point-and-click colour selection (I see that's underway in the product description) —Drag-and-drop functionality for all colour options (including Google's preset colours). Would be great to rearrange by order of use/colour etc. —Ability to delete Google's preset colours (not just custom created colours) Not a developer myself. So, no clue how challenging/attainable these requests be. But, I'm motivated to discuss funding your time to develop them. My colour blindness makes Google's preset palette nearly useless for my needs. Please be in touch anytime. Best,

I am unable to find a plus sign to add colors. I tried right clicking, but I do not know if it's because I am on a mac? I would love to love this extension, but I can't figure it out.

Good extension - made my calendar go from 0 - 100 !

Was really looking forward to using this, unfortunately it is a pain to get working. Once I got the extension and follows what people had said on how to use it, it still did not work. No plus sign came up in the color options, so basically the extension did not work at all. Really bummed.

Love this extension! My only reason for docking a star is that color changes can't be applied to all-day events or events that I didn't create. Meetings organized by my coworkers stay the original calendar color.

Once I figured out how to use it, it worked for a day. Now it shows the color selected, but the event color doesn't actually change. I've refreshed, relaunched Chrome, and it still doesn't seem to work. It was really nice for the day that it worked!

Hi Adam, Thank you for creating this extension! I just have a couple of notes that I've noticed: 1. The colors seem to disappear a couple times a day for random events and I have to refresh the page to get it back to normal 2. There isn't a way to delete colors after you enter them Otherwise, I am really enjoying using this extension!

I downloaded the extension, did a test event and I was able to add a custom color to it. It worked prefectly but now it is no longer working, I do not see the plus icon to add custom colors either on new events or already existing events :( please help, I was LOVING this extension :( :( also I already tried all the basic troubleshooting!!

I enjoy this a lot! The only thing is I wish the colors would apply to my mobile calendar. If I want to use custom colors on my desktop, it resets all colors on my mobile phone to the default blue. I'm guessing because it doesn't recognize the hex codes.

We are testing it out in our office and each person added the extension and added the same four hex codes so that we can used them on our shared calendar but the color is only appearing on the person who created the event. Is there a way where everyone can see the new color if everyone has the same extension and hex codes added? Thanks

I like it but finding the HTML Hex Codes is not intuitive. Also, how do you remove a color once added (twice by accident while learning how to do it)

If you can tell me more about how to make this work, I'd appreciate it. I have added the extension to Chrome on my browser bar. I have right clicked on that, on the calendar, on the colors, on the event and there is no place where I see where I can pick other colors. How does this work?

I was super excited when i saw this. Spent about 20-30 min loading and changing colors all over my calendar. Events, etc. Logged out, went back later and none of the color changes kept, everything now one color.

love this feature! hopefully it'll be an update for google calendar on both web and mobile versions in the future. itd be helpful if the color change for an event would change all timing of it, if its recurring. kind of a hassle to go through the calendar and manually change each color. (for reference: i am a college student using this feature to organize my semester)
