one of the first extensions I ever installed, years ago, and has continued to work as expected and feels like I will be using this forever
Every web developer needs this. I've used it for years. Simple and works.
I like the extension and it's useful to me but it would be nice if we could turn it off for some sites. For example I don't really want to see it on YouTube as it shows when the video is full screen.
Doesn't work at all with the current version of Chrome from what I can tell.
Simple and Elegant, would be nice if we could adjust some CSS ourselves though. I have a Software that has a bottom bar in the backend and it covers the IP cause some s***hat that wrote the software thought z-index 9,999 isn't enough.
Helpful!
Great extension.
good
Simple, efficient and dicreate
IT TRACKED MY VPN
works perfectly, would be helpful if you could right-click the widget in the top bar and copy the currrent tab IP address
works as it should, shows IP of whatever page you're visiting. I use it at my work as a sanity check when I'm overriding my hosts file in Windows
Good extension
Simple and works great!
It is unbelievable that this does not let you to copy the ip to clipboard.
I really loved this extension.. tho, there was one issue, but im sure its not the extension's fault. 2 completely different websites used the same IP, other than this, works flawlessly. very good job.
Its pretty useful. It would be 5 stars if there was some way to copy the IP address
I feel like there should be an easy way to copy the ip to your clipboard...
Complete nonsense. It can only show you the IP of your local machine. I'm pretty sure every website on the internet doesn't have the same 10.131.*.* IP address....
Thanks!
Nice tool to use
Fantastic, immediately visual, and does what it says on the tin. "is the website on our servers ?" yes. I don't have to click on anything. If i want a trace route or HTTP headers I'll use the command line where I can c/p the data - slightly annoying can't c/p the IP though. "can't hide the icon / button" Wut? right click and 'hide button' doesn't work for you?
Fantastic tool, simple, elegant NOT SPAM OR SPYWARE. Why people are reporting this is beyond me! >.<
Simply elegant tool. Very small and usually doesn't get in the way of page content. Two problems: 1.. Mouse over of the IP moves it to the other side of the page. (I guess to move it out of the way of page content that is in that spot?) The feature is more annoying than helpful. 2.. Can't hide the tool bar button.
. Has worked good for me. Doesn't catch the IP of ~every~ web site, but gets most. The DataRat .
Simply works :)
amazing tool.
I wish we could pick where it can be displayed, top left or top right instead for example.
It works, but fails for sites that get fetched through my proxy (shows proxy IP). Could use more details as well.
Spam extension - Run!
useful, but without options to change how it displays it's useless on some sites.
Great tool, wish we could pick left or right. Thanks!
Excellent little tool! Works flawlessly, though it has the annoying icon in the address bar. I would rather have it as a normal extension icon in the area to the right of the address bar, where all icons sit. Even though this is annoying, it still gets my 5 stars, in hopes it will be changed soon.
This extension has a giant memory leak: the URL of every single request just sits in RAM until you restart the browser. How this got twice as many users as IPvFoo, I'll never know.
First class! Thanks. As they say "I needed that"
Really useful. Thanks !
it does not work!
Heavy like a feather! Fast and useful extension. Maybe should add a copy IP feature soon.
Useful, and great that the plugin was updated to no-longer resolve ip addresses through a remote server. This plugin respects my local hosts file - excellent!
Great little app. Just need the ability to copy IP address to clipboard and it's prefect. Thanks a bunch!
Nicely done and at first glance, the replacement I've been looking for, for the Firefox ShowIP addon. Unfortunately it's useless to me, as the address is resolved from a remote system, not mine. This means that the ip address shown is wrong if I have a hosts file entry, or am using a DNS server with different information to this extension's DNS server.
Fails to follow chrome DNS so it doesn't really tell you what IP you are browsing. Makes it somewhat useless for me. Its supposed to tell me what IP I'm browsing, and it doesn't. I have screenshot proof but can't post in the review.
Doesn't respect hosts file. Why can't any available Chrome plugin just show the actual IP of the site you just loaded?? Surely this must be available to extensions. *sigh* No hosts file, no good!
After wondering why my updates weren't appearing on the site I did a ping from my command line and saw that the ip address did not match what Website IP was reporting. I use tools like these so I don't get confused during DNS change propagation but whatever this is using to get the IP information does not match my machine and can therefore display an incorrect IP. Useless for my purposes.
Why the extension needs to access all my information on the site I'm looking to just get the IP address? I think there is something strange
This is spyware program - all your visited sites send to remote server!
Nice app. Anyway, I think it will be good to show in the Right of the address bar instead of the icon. : )
It is calling home server every time you visit any website, injects google analytics code and tracks your activity in the browser!!! Recommending to uninstall.
You cannot copy the IP from the tab. so if you need to get it you will need to swap between tabs or memorize the IP address. It's a good app, but there aren't enough real features to it to make me want to give it 5 stars. It does work as advertised I give it that, but still needs more work/features to be a comprehensive Productivity app for people actually need this in their browser.
It doesn't seem to work with IPv6. My network is fully ready for IPv6 and applications will use it in preference to IPv4 whenever possible. When I go to sites that have both IPv4 & IPv6 addresses, Website IP shows only the IPv4 address. When I go to an IPv6 only site, it only displays the host name and no IP address. This means Website IP is useless for IPv6 addresses. I'll be uninstalling it as all but useless. For an example of how it should work, try "ShowIP" for the Firefox and Seamonkey browsers.
