So, a lot of videos nowadays (just to prevent normal downloads) are being delivered in a form of video streaming, which prevents almost every other video downloading extensions. This one is really special - they have their own special server where they actually BUFFER all parts of the stream file for you, so that you can download it as one whole file. Truly saved the day!

at first, this was amazing, but, suddenly & ever since, 4x multi-threaded downloads became throttled down to 1x, with nag buttons to "try multi-threaded." now, multi-threaded requires a pay login. not cool, because when multi-threaded worked, from the getgo, no indication of any free trial period. calling something free & then hobbling functionality to demand pay is BAIT & SWITCH.

Good extension to download Videos, but it generates multiple files for a single video and also automatic download to the local option is missing. Except the above, this is a very very handy tool.
This was great a few months ago...now it throttles so hard, it takes hours to download what would have taken ten minutes.

I would have given it a 5 stars if it would be faster to download. It is very slow !!! But it does what I want on a site that I had problems with.

Slowest downloader I've ever had
most recent update screwed up alot of things, mainly recording mode. still a better video recorder than what ive seen.
This extension worked fine until a couple days ago but it is now recording live streams for certain sites at 3-4x the speed, basically dropping frames, so has become completely useless. I am a pro user and paid for a year so very disappointed as there is no way to tell the developers about this issue.

Strange that whenever I do a web search for "best video downloader" or "best video downloader for Chrome", you never see this software (CocoCut) in ANY Top 10 or Top 20 list. I am going to save you the headache of banging your head against the wall as I did. Over a period of months, I searched for, installed, tested, removed and re-tested just about EVERY video downloader in the Chrome store. But even those that have 4.5 star overall ratings have TONS of 1 or 2 star reviews. In fact, it is nearly impossible to find 4 or 5 star ratings at all for most of these video downloader apps -- so when you see one with "4.5 star average from 6,000 ratings” - you really have to wonder. Save yourself time and headache. Even though CocoCut is the best browser-extension based video downloader that I have found. Not perfect, but excellent. It is really good at detecting many types of videos on many different websites. And it has great features I have not found in any other product - such as an option to try to "Force Download" a video if the video won't download by the normal process. CocoCut even has an option to fully record the video if every attempt to download will not work (*of course you have to keep the video running and keep an eye on the recording time if you use this method). One other word on video downloads. It seems that most 1-star ratings for video downloaders come from those who can't download YouTube videos. I don't use CocoCut for this purpose (it MAY work on YouTube, but I doubt it) and here is some advice: WAKE UP! No browser-extension based video downloader is going to work for YouTube. You have to get an installable video or general download application to be able to download videos from YT. Search around, there are several good ones. But for a browser-extension based downloader that handles video from dozens of websites other than YouTube - CocoCut appears to be the best there is for now.

Love it. It actually works. It has been hard to find video downloaders that work across a wide range of sites. I finally found one that works with the CoCo Cut extension. Works great. Downloads fast in my opinion not slow like the other video downloaders and by the time those are done you are lucky if the download didn't timeout on you. This extension works great without issues. Found it by searching for "Video Downloader" in the webstore and sorting by 5 star reviews.

I have several DL extensions, this one was 1 of 2 of them that could actually DL the video I wanted, and this one DLed it much faster than the other one. Nice!
It's impossible for any video downloader (extension or not) to work on every video or site - with all the DRM & custom players everywhere - but this one is by far the most helpful, with the most options for advanced users.

Was fine, then capped daily downloads and wants you to pay Despise the monitization of basic services that shouldn't even need a tool to do in the first place (disgusting technorats fear archivists FOR SOME REASON) If you only download a couple of things, it's fine for that but usually when someone downloads 1 or 2 videos they just look up a website to do that An extension on your browser permanently is not not an idle decision that you use for 1 or 2 videos

sorry to say but first time i use this extension i was like "okay it could grab anything do force download", but now everything, AND ANYTHING has to be a PRO USER to use this ext properly. NORMAL USER only has FREAKING SLOW SPEED DOWNLOAD like grandma trying to cross the street.

This extension does what it says, the normal version has a count limitation, the pro version is unlimited and higher resolution. Definitely worth it!

Extension works great, UNTIL you reach the daily download limit of 21 videos! The error page indicates that you can use their "Pro version" to get around this, but good luck finding ANY information on HOW to buy that! Absolutely NO SUPPORT whatsoever for this product, VERY POOR Company!

Incredible! so sick & tired of dealing w HLS bs! cant download for later study, cant control speed, glitchy & on & on! after an hr of non study crawling over the page code & installing python updates, to see if old githubs still worked: i found this! thr are a few HLS stream addons that did work after a fashion or in MKV: only this one pulled everything together & as an mp4 AND kept the file name. just very happy rn. =)

The best plugin to download videos for free, yes you have a limit per day, but that's ok because it might find some hidden videos from other plugins.

I tried 5 of the most used video downloading extensions on the store and none of them could find the video playing on the page that I wanted. This extension was the only one that could do it. I can't speak to whether or not this extension is fast or not. In my opinion the only thing that matters is whether or not it works, and this one worked when all of the others didn't.

I tried a whooooole lot of other downloaders, NONE of which worked - this was THE ONLY one which worked for me.

It was the best downloader but is now rubbish! The company wants you to pay for "premium" just to get it to work. It will take you round 4-5 hours to download a video in 480p unless you pay. The free version is just choked to make you pay for the "premium". I'm now looking for another free extension or maybe some software to do the job.
It doesn't work. You have to pay to get it to download! It used to work, but then the developer got money hungry, and made it so that it is basically impossible to download anything without paying for this pro version. I'm looking for free alternatives. LAME.
After buying the premium, the speed slowed down. And again, they won't give you the option to unsubscribe. They also don't have support in case anything goes wrong.
What happened to this extension? I absolutely loved this extension and used it daily for the past year. In the last few weeks it hasn't been working well at all, now it's just always stuck on loading. Few weeks ago I was surprised I was limited to 10 or so videos a day I could download. Then download speeds dropped drastically. Now it just gets stuck on loading when I try force downloading a video. This is not a problem with my internet. I feel like they are purposely slowing things down to try selling their premium paid membership to get the faster speeds they advertise. I loved this extension and I wish it worked as well as it did before.

If you only need to download a few vidoes its great. Works better than most video downloaders. However, after you've downloaded a couple videos the extention begins telling you to try the high speed download version or "pro" and it stops your download in its tracks. At the time of writing i am only able to get the first 20 seconds of any video before the extention stops my download and begs for pro. So in short, its great for a day or two, but unless you want to pay for the extention, it turns into a waste of time.

A great video downloader that has a fairly simple UI to utilize its services. It boasts a 20 videos per day download limit at its free tier and an unlimited daily download limit for its pro tier. The issue is that the pro tier is currently very exclusive to journalists and boggers requiring ad promo and usage tutorials. There seemingly is no way to pay or trial the Pro plan for Cococut at this time. Regardless, it the best recommendation I can give so far in video downloaders with ease of use.

Works really well. Every now and then I can't get a video to appear in the menu, but I'm thinking it's the website I'm using (heydaily), not this extension. When that happens I reload or even close and reopen the page and it works. SUPER helpful for a class I'm in where I'd like to download the content for offline viewing rather than having to stream it all the time.
