It works when the clicking on a link in a the active tab, but when opening a new tab from a bookmark toolbar for instance, the new tab is still open at the very right.

Work as expected
I probably make use of this hundreds of times a day. Extremely useful, particularly if you use tab groups. But even if you don't, it's often very helpful to be able to open new tabs right next to the one you're viewing. I really don't get why this feature isn't integrated into Chromium.

Perfect. Until Google introduces a shortcut for 'Open tab to the right', this extension delivers that. Thank you!
Doesn't access browser history like the more popular one and works exactly as I hoped.
Feature Request: when using this in a tab group, make the new tab stay within the tab group. Currently the new tab will open outside the tab group. Otherwise it's perfect!

Simple and exactly what I wanted. To open a new tab to the right, the keyboard shortcut is Alt+T (customizable).

Finally! Incredibly, Chrome doesn't allow setting keyboard shortcuts for menu items (at least not on Mac). I've been wanting to add a shortcut for "New Tab to the Right" for a long time. Thanks so much for this simple but useful productivity enhancer!
