You cannot widen the scroll bars on any Google site. This is indicated on the webpage that pops up after the extension is added. This shortcoming makes the entire extension useless for me. It is a good extension if your world doesn't revolve around Google (including YouTube). Kinda disappointed.

Mostly works well, however on some sites it injects a `d-splash` <section> and makes the entire page unscrollable, it's essentially an overlay image, and I don't know why it's there. Example: go to forum (dot) freecodecamp (dot) org and you'll see what I mean.

It worked OK for some use cases but made my Chrome browser unscrollable in many instances. Not finding it very useful for my own use but do evaluate for your use cases. And if your chrome does not scroll for some website then disable this extension.

Lets be a little critical here just because you can modify it doesn't mean its perfect. So I tried to play a little bit with customise a little bit a yes it works then you open another tab and website and then you have to do it there too. It could be much better a force on all windows tabs and websites. Just so there are no misunderstandings. its a 3 star from here.

This Scrollbar Customizer extension is a GREAT idea. Unfortunately, it does NOT work in all cases, and often not where it is most needed. For example, it does NOT work when in Chrome and in Google Drive, where the Google Drive scrollbar styling "very skinny and automatically disappearing scrollbars" persists, regardless of the settings in Scrollbar Customizer. For this extension to be truly helpful, it must be made to be more powerful, and support setting such as "always show scrollbars and always disallow automatically disappearing scrollbars". Another necessary feature would be for this extension to have a setting saying "always use my Scrollbar Customizer settings for all scrollbars" and etc. I really wished this extension would work, but it does not. I am on Windows 11 fully patched. I am using the latest version of Chrome as of now fully patched. I would gladly pay for the "always show scrollbars" feature and the "always use my custom scrollbar style" here. Thanks.

I had trouble seeing the scroll buttons, because they are so light gray. This app allowed me to change the color to be a little darker, though it would have allowed a range of colors (I don't want the button to be too obtrusive). It even can change width, height, appearance, etc. Admittedly, it took me a minute or so to figure out how and what to change, but, after that, it was smooth sailing! Great job!

This didn't work for me. I installed it, changed the scrollbar width, and clicked "Save" and nothing. The only tab whose width changed was the one for the app itself. None of the scrollbars on my other tabs changed. I restarted the browser and, again, nothing happened. None of the scrollbars in my tabs had changed. Waste of time.

This is exactly what I needed. Kept having issues with not being able to see the scrollbar because it would blend in. This fixes it.

Finally, I don't have to go searching for the scrollbar! There are lots of places where the default disappearing scrollbar makes it almost unusable. For example, on pages with a scrollbar in a sub-area the default scrollbar does not show up. There is no way to tell where that hidden scroll bar is so I have to mouse around hovering a couple seconds in many places before the default scrollbar shows. The default scrollbar behavior is so frustrating. This extension restores a badly needed. Shame on Chrome developers for thinking their use cases are the only ones that matter!

Looks great but not working in dark theme, will be happy to update my rating once it works in chrome dark mode as well.

are you sure this time it's not a vrius, because few days ago it told me it has a malware in it, and I almost lost it, because how in hell would it have a malware and it seems like the good extensions are being removed from google.

This is the best extension in my opinion! Why? This allowed me to hide scrollbars! As a result, I can concentrate on reading articles and be more focused browsing on the web! How? By setting the width and height to 0 on the "Customize" menu! Thanks a ton, MegaXT!

Not working on new youtube

No longer working on Edge 89.0.774.54 - used to work flawlessly to remove scrollbars on every website. But now it has no effect, regardless of what settings I change.

This is the first one I've seen that FINALY let me hide the scroll bar! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Did exactly what I wanted! Very easy to use.

YEAY! FINALLY! Effed around with Win10Home Themes, GUI settings, Dark Theme, High Contrast, even dabbled in two REGISTRY settings (Current-User >> Control Panel > Colors > Scrollbar > RGB 000 000 255), then in Chrome with Themes, Extensions- you finally do exactly what I needed! No more light grey scrollbar that is ONE DOT above WHITE ON WHITE, I now have a sharp, RED, much wider and taller scroller. THANK YOU THANK YOU! Now please do not read every single website I visit however hehe.

Doesn't have ability to place nice arrows on scroll arrow buttons.

Ok but not enough for everyday usage. - Was not transparent in the sense that Find hits were not visible behind it (big minus) - Did not work on all sites (some defaulted back to the tiny as hell default)

Worked really well in Chromium, but as that is no longer available in Linux Mint, I installed Chrome and the customised scrollbars are only visible on some sites.

One of the better scrollbar extensions. Thanks! It would be nice if there was both an autohide option and an exclude-websites option. In Gmail it overlays on top of the original scrollbar.

Simple extension that does what it says and fixes the issue of web site's having gray-on-gray scrollbars. Installed on both Chrome and MS Edge. Doesn't show-up in YouTube full screen as previous reviewer stated, perhaps that was fixed.

Tried a few different extensions for this. Some only worked for YT but looked nice, others were fugly but worked on every site. Now I can make it look how I want it to. Everything seems to work just how I want it to. Cheers.

Yes, seems to work as soon as added as extension from the chrome store. But where is the customization many have liked? I did not do the "download" step from the author's site, as prefer to use store supplied extns. Agree with those wanting this functionality as seldom do multifinger on trackpad. Am Very Happy I bought a touch-screen version of chromebook and I use a stylus instead of my finger. Thx

Didn't change the scroll bars on sites that specify their own scrollbar settings. The entire point of downloading this was to get thick scrollbars on sites that force narrow ones. It doesn't work.

great extension, website-filter would be very useful (having two options "apply only in these web-sites" and "exclude from these web-sites")

I think this only replaces the first horizontal and first vertical scroll bar it finds, therefore websites with multiple scrollbars will have two different scrollbars, it would be great if you could change that :/ As an example you can take a look at a GitHub project board

Doesn't actually change my windows, just the test window. Reloading didn't help. Nonfunctional.

Works good for every site so far except gmail.com where the main scroll bar is not visible on the right side at all.

Without it- i literally cannot see chromes scroll bar. I think they want you to use your finger all over the screen- at least that is what it appears to me. Who makes scroll bars that are like 1 mm thick.....lll my chrome books were unusable when the change occurerd. THe review is now bc they did something overnight and all my data disappeared. I wonder if MAC rolls out new editions every few weeks? I'd be delighted to never ever have any "improvement's" I still believe the chromebook about 5-8 yr's ago was the best. Way better than 2019. Anyway- Thank You- Until i get a Mac....

can you possibly make it so it has the ability to lock the scrollbar in place? i play a flash game that requires scrolling to scroll through weapons and the page moves around which causes me to get killed in-game,

Lovely. It doesn't slow down websites, as other people say. But i would like to change the background, i want it dark, not white. With this add-on is possible only to customise the thumb, the arrows and the ＴＨＩＣＫness, not the background colour. Also, as other pointed it out, it's not possible to auto-hide it, which would be awesome.

I appreciate what it does, but if your Chrome browser has been slow-loading, look no further than this extension. Regretfully had to turn it off.

If you are a developer DO NOT INSTALL. It slows down the elements styles tab in dev tools immensely.

Scrollbar in Chrome would disappear as soon as I'd try to actually move up or down, this extension's 'thick' bar acts normal.

I've only had the extension on my Chrome laptop for 20 minutes and I love it! It is sooo frustrating trying to find the skimpy scrollbar that comes with Chrome. With Scrollbar Customizer it makes moving about the screen so simple it is intuitive and automatic.

Does as it says and very useful for bad eyes. Enough customization to suit everyone.

I've used extensions for years and never have I reviewed one. This is exceptional! It's so simple yet so useful. I like to hide a small YouTube window in the bottom right corner of one of my monitors at work so I can watch Let's Plays while working lol and this gets rid of the pesky white scroll bar against the black chrome theme/YouTube dark mode. You can really achieve a lot of different looks with this extension. I recommend to everybody.

This extension is great, but I can't figure out how to change the Active and Inactive sections to work independently. I want a width of 0 when inactive, and to show up (maybe a width of 2 or so) when active. Fix this and I will up the rating.

Works perfectly to eliminate scrollbars on full-screen streaming video -- just set width to "0" and they're gone.

Wonderful; now I can see & latch onto my Newly Enlarged & Brightly Colored Scrollbars in my Chromebook. Easy enough extension to figure out how to use, customize, activate. I appreciate the Developers offering this SO MUCH because I hate that Google Chromebook does not offer this type of customization in the box.

Buggy. Dragging the scroll bar or clicking the empty areas doesn't always work. Buttons are non-existent.
