indispensable
Lovely extension but when it's on nothing is clickable on DeviantArt!
Worked so well I forgot I installed it.
1) AVAST! 2) DOESN'T WORK
Sadly the effectiveness of this program has taken a major dump in the last couple of months. Evidently, it was sold out... good for the original owner, but bad for us. In any case, since there's no point for it anymore, I took it out. Hopefully, I can find a suitable replacement.
avast
spyware shi i used to be big fan before. lol
SPYWARE - DO NO DOWNLOAD Sold to avast which is using this extension to sold your personal data Use the community version instead: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/i-still-dont-care-about-c/edibdbjcniadpccecjdfdjjppcpchdlm
Spyware now, stay clear
It seems is just hidding/closing the popup in the quickest/easiest way without rejecting what can be rejected, (selecting only necessary cookies) Especially social media cookies aren't and can't be blocked. Like this I have no doubt the let any "legitimate interest" cookies through. TLDR: only hides pop-up, doesn't reject (all) cookies for you.
Don't use! It has been bought up by Avast who is known for spying on users and re-selling their information. Instead, use the same extension but without Avast owning your data: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/i-still-dont-care-about-c/edibdbjcniadpccecjdfdjjppcpchdlm Or consider this PopUpOFF if you want to ignore popups all together: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/popupoff-popup-and-overla/ifnkdbpmgkdbfklnbfidaackdenlmhgh/related
DON'T USE THIS, USE THIS INSTEAD: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/i-still-dont-care-about-c/edibdbjcniadpccecjdfdjjppcpchdlm This is a fork of I don't care about cookies without the creepy avast stuff, just for extra proof that this isn't spyware it is opensource on github https://github.com/OhMyGuus/I-Dont-Care-About-Cookies.
avast = removed,i do not like spyware company,s making money from me. Its a good extension.
avast
sold to avast
Unfortunately the extension got sold to a company that is known for spying on users through extensions. I therefore cannot recommend using it anymore. Instead, use the public fork of this extension, which does not contain tracking and will be maintained open source: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/i-still-dont-care-about-c/edibdbjcniadpccecjdfdjjppcpchdlm
WARNING WARNING WARNING, DO NOT INSTALL, THIS WAS AQUIRED BY AVAST, THEY WILL USE THIS AGAINST YOU, SELL YOUR DATA, AND HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BE SHADY. LET THIS EXTENSION DIE ALONG WITH AVAST!
It did a great job over the years. Unfortunately, it sold out to Avast AND defaulted to a "Give me all the cookies" approach. Selling out was the last straw - I mean, realistically, what would Avast want with this extension, if not gobble up user data of people that normally frowned on that sort of thing? There's no real other money-making potential here that I can see. So long, and thanks for all the -fish- cookies. Switched to Consent-O-Matic instead.
[WARNING, DO NOT INSTALL] This extension is now owned by Avast. Avast collects user data and sells it. Take your privacy seriously, even if you have nothing to hide, your information can and will be used for nefarious means. Do not become a victim.
Devs sold out to a company. Your privacy is now at stake if you use this extension.
To the devs, congrats for the acquisition. To the rest, pls avoid this entirely
Well, nice to know this plug-in has decided to just cut the middle-person out entirely and just sell your user data directly now that it's a part of Avast. *DELET* ¬_¬
I got the news about the acquisition, you can stop popping the damned tab now. As for the selling itself, whatever, it's your project you sell it to whoever you want, I'll probably be looking for an alternative.
Website don't work because of this extension, for example netflix and youtube video hovering
For obvious reasons as others have said. Uninstall this immediately is my advice.
Stopped working on YT in incognito, makes videos unplayable. Does the merger with Avast mean there will be no longer support?
I understand why the developer sold his product -- they deserve to be paid for their hard work. Doesn't mean I have to trust Avast, which has a history of tracking user data in deceptive ways and selling it. Was fun while this lasted. Everyone: If we were willing to actually pay the price of a coffee for Extensions, we wouldn't be in this situation as much. Support your software!!!
sold to Avast. did anyone forked the code already ?
Avast...
Congratulation on the Avast deal, hope they paid well.
Harmful after the acquisition of Avast/Norton
Best Alternative: NO COOKIE WARNING https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/no-cookie-warning/dnpffaflgdcpcbolhhbefkbdndaicijc
Was once great, now is owned by Avast. Goodbye.
Whelp, bye now, here's a better alternative: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/consent-o-matic/mdjildafknihdffpkfmmpnpoiajfjnjd/
Used this for years and loved it. Now it's sold to Avast and here it's time to uninstall. No Avast product in my PC. Sayonara!
Will uninstall, as the extension was bought by notorious spyware company.
Do NOT install this plugin, it's part of Avast now, you can't trust it
Do not trust this addon, it has been sold to Avast that has a very sketchy history.
https://www.i-dont-care-about-cookies.eu/whats-new/acquisition/
sold to avast, a fraud company that is known to sell user data. avoid like the plague.
From hero to zero! DO NOT INSTALL. It's now owned and run by Avast, which is pure spyware. This is why you should never trust any developer.
Sad to see a great pop-up blocking extension being acquired by a well known pop-up creating company.
Sold to Avast.
Sold out to avast who will no doubt harvest and sell users data. DISGUSTING
Sold to Avast that will surely monetize your data - so the exact opposite of why we installed this first of all... Sad :-(
Thank you for your service. Now Avast has acquired this, I'm outta here.
Not using something that Avast has access to
Avast. Uninstall and don't look back.
Avast
Was good, then it got bought out. Avoid.
Thanks for the warning. Removing this and getting https://github.com/cavi-au/Consent-O-Matic
Bought by Avast, will become useless shortly. (Thanks for the warning, original creator!) Use Consent-o-matic or other alternatives
A V A S T HAHAHAHAHAHA
Avast collects user data, hides agreement traps in their installers, and has since a long while transitioned to an adware company. Sad to see this go, use uBlock filters instead.
Bought by Avast - uninstalling
Acquisition by Avast, here is a FOSS alternative https://github.com/cavi-au/Consent-O-Matic
Avast
it was great, but in sep 2022 the developerd sold it to avast, i thank you for being honest about it, a popup was open telling this. off course nothing good will come from this. respect the developer for his work and being open about the sell, we all need a living. i am sure avast will screw this
Uninstalling as it can no longer be trusted when owned by Avast. Use the "EasyList Cookie" built into uBlock Origin or maybe even the one maintained by this extension's owner: https://www.i-dont-care-about-cookies.eu/abp/
Shame it's been sold - this is what i wanted. Anyone got a recommendation to just as good cookie blocker?
uninstalled. also pretty sus that it opened a webpage by itself to tell us they sold...
good job on selling it to avast, of all companies
Sold to Avast.
Sell out to Avast equals instant removal from Chrome for me. Enjoy the money.
Sold out ?
Bye, Avast.
It seems everyone has covered why his decision is a bad idea. I just came on to downvote as well. And yes, it *is* a shame because it was a good addon. I would be interested to see how Avast is reacting to this.
They sold to Avast, rip, will uninstall.
Developer sold it to Avast. Just two years ago, Avast was caught harvesting user browsing data from 100 million devices through a browser extension and selling it to corporate clients and advertisers like Google, Home Depot, Condé Nast, Intuit, McKinsey, Microsoft, Pepsi, and Yelp, charging them millions of dollars for a feed that tracked user behavior, clicks and movement across websites. They collected data on search terms, locations and GPS coordinates, visits to company LinkedIn pages, YouTube videos, PornHub content etc. Avast did not stop this practice after being caught, they switched to collecting data through their anti-virus software. They are now buying this extension with millions of users so they can continue with their data harvesting practices. Because of this reason, I cannot use any of Avast products on my devices. I have permanently uninstalled this extension
Given that it was sold to Avast, a company known for using software to harvest data from users, the extension is now useless to me and I would not recommend it to anyone.
The developer just sold this extension to a huge data harvesting malware company. Don't install it now.
This once open source extension has now been bought by Avast and due to being a victim of their aggressive harvesting of data that they were caught doing I cannot stand by and continue to use this extension. Shame.
Was a great extension for hiding all those annoying popups, but is now owned by NortonLifeLock/Avast and simply cannot be trusted. Quite a shame really
Hope the money was worth it
Bought by avast
Used to be a useful extension. Now that it's sold to Avast, our data is at big risk. Uninstalling!!
sold to avast, i am uninstalling to prevent any privacy/data leakage to avast.
Extension worked well, but now it's been sold to Avast, so no thanks!
sold to avast
Sold to Avast !! Nice dev
Sold out to big company that will obviously use the data
It was a good extension, but Avast has a terrible reputation. Such a shame. Uninstalled.
Sold to avast which is even worse than Google in terms of abusing people's data and trust. Also: there's no source code anywhere, it says it's open source but where's the repository?!
Cannot be trusted as it has been sold to avast.
Sold to Avast, get an alternative!
Sorry but it has been sold to Avast, instant uninstall
Sold to Avast, uninstall immediately
Avast. Nothing more.
IDCAC has just been acquired by Avast. While I commend the owner on managing to get paid for a free project, there are few businesses as suspicious, predatory and exploitative as freeware antivirus. I cannot continue using a plugin that is soon very likely to fall into data exploitation, abuse of resources, misleading practices, and certainly unwanted, nagging advertisement that antiviruses are very well known for. Again, no ill will towards the creator, congratulations on the pay, and I'm glad to have had the extension around all this time. But at the end of the day we all know the money does the talking in businesses like these and I'll opt out of becoming the product yet again.
Thanks but no thanks. Uninstalled. EVERYBODY KNOWS AVAST, AVG, AVIRA, BULLGUARD, CCLEANER AND NORTON ARE ALL PART OF SAME FAMILY UNDER NORTON (CALLED "NortonLifeLock") SO THIS ADDON GOES TO SAME HELL. WOULD HAVE ASKED US DONATIONS BUT NO LOVE FOR BIG AND MONOPOLISTIC TECH. Now it is will I don't care about cookies because these companies will controlling and mining and reselling it. Norton cant provide any method or support or options to delete account forget about data or cookies. I have suffered at hand of Norton and will not suffer again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NortonLifeLock https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NortonLifeLock#Mergers_and_acquisitions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mergers_and_acquisitions_by_NortonLifeLock ALTERNATIVES - https://alternativeto.net/software/i-don-t-care-about-cookies/
Extension was recently acquired by Avast which has been found harvesting and selling user data in the past. That's gonna be a "no" from me dawg. Uninstall this new spyware. If you're looking for something similar, just use the three sets of "Annoyances" filters in uBlock Origin; it works just as well.
No longer trustworthy.
Congrats on your acquisition, every software devs dream :)
This company has been bought by Avast the anti virus software, a company that is well-known for selling user's browser data. 'I don't care about cookies' an extension that is for protecting user's data from websites has been sold to a company that takes users data and sells it to website. Let that irony sink in and then delete this extension. I did :)
Not working for me on this site: https://www.reviewsolicitors.co.uk/top/notary/cambridge
annoyance saver i wanna scream IIIIII DOOOONT CAAAAAAAAARE then i eat a cookie afterwards irl ggwp 10/10 must have top 3 addons
Perfect. This saves me lots of time. I wish chrome mobile supported extensions as well.
works really well
34% of the UK electorate decided to leave Europe so can this EU cockie legislation simply be stopped after brexshit pmsl
Excellent and simple! The only thing that is missing is an option that would automatically delete any cookies that are not in our whitelist. Still a 5* extension in my book! Thanks.
does what is says and its great
Plugin make conflict with another plugin(Google translate). I can not translate english text. So I decide to switch off it.
Never had any issue with until now. Some sites just won't load with this enabled. Uninstalling.
It was decent when it does work. However, recently, this extension has been reloading random sites and making them completely inaccessible. Some sites would load for about five seconds before automatically reloading, and it took me almost two months to narrow it down to this extension.
The functionality doesn't work as well as it used to. Getting the prompts more and more often on websites. Need to fix that, or provide some way to report feedback on specific sites.
Thank you, it's really good with annoying pop-ups. Except for some sites, where it is not working properly. I want you to add simple feedback about sites
Works, but prevented booking at applus.dk. Have removed it.
