Super easy! Install it, enable auto-clean, and Whitelist the sites you want to stay logged into (work). Cookies from all other sites are deleted when the tab is closed.
Great.
Delivers as advertised; breath of fresh air
I can't believe some of the negative reviews over on the Firefox extension site. I'm using Vivaldi and was specifically looking for an extension with this exact functionality and IT WORKS GREAT!! Yes it takes a bit of setting up and for a few days adding your favourite sites but soon it because something that does is job in the background without very little interaction from you. I continuously keep track of its silent work by monitoring the cookie history in Vivaldi and it is clean as a whistle except for my selected sites. So, from me I say, "Job very well done" and thank you. For all the complainers... do a little investment in time and you will have an excellent tool running in the background.
Seems amazing, and thorough. If you know NOTHING about computers, settings may not seem clear. I figured it out fine with common sense. This appears to be a great extension.
Easiest way to take control and has the ability to be extremely precise. It offers backup of your settings, and how you set each domain's cookie settings. So if you want to export your settings to another computer, it does that. It also can save those settings for an OS reset. If you are a begginer or expert, it caters to both. You decide how automated, or manually configured your browser will behave. You control it. Take the cookies away from those that just want you to be the product. (Looking at you, Google, Facebook, and all their malevolent buddies.)
Gives you a lot of control, but as what others has said about it, it's extremely unintuitive. The names of the settings and even the github page explaining it is very confusing. Be aware you will need to study on this extension before using it.
вау! давненько не попадались расширения настолько функциональные. автор, ты явно дружишь с головою! здоровья тебе
UI is not very intuitive, but does the job very good. Once you understood how it works.
Extremely unintuitive, wordy and confusing. Can't just start using it after install with minimal learning curve. Perhaps is a very powerful extension (will find out when I'll have time to go through it), but it's looks more like something created by devs for devs, or users who dabble in programming and are more inclined than the average user to spend considerable amount of their time reading through a UIs in order to use them. Whenever one needs a 15 minutes tutorial (prob. more), to just start using something... then you're doing UI and UX all wrong. Great potential in need of lots of refinement on the UI for an intuitive usability conducive to a smooth UX. PS: The "Home" link should lead to the Extension page on the chrome google webstore, not github page.
Powerful, but extremely unintuitive. Everything is phrased confusingly and never seems to do what you expect. Even reading the github documentation (which is linked in settings in lieu of explanations) won't necessarily clear things up as some settings appear to be lacking documentation entirely. Still, it's the only extension I've been able to find that supports clearing cookies on browser restart, and behind the layer of frustrating UX it has a lot of nice customization options and features.
Misses blocking some cookies with autodelete on. I like the program very much!
I don't normally plug-in reviews but this is so good, it has to be done.
Well this is a useful cookie chomper !
Works super great.
I've been manually managing cookies for a long time. This extension does it all automatically. Great job.
It doesn't remove cookies as advertised. I would test it by manually doing "Clean all for this domain", then restart the browser and go to brave://settings/siteData, and surprise, surprise, the cookies would still be there. Tried that with Outlook, Google, and few others - all the same. Second, instead of blacklisting domains manually, one has to do the reverse: go through all of the bookmarks, one by one, and whitelist them, so that the addon would auto clean the rest. Flying from US to Africa, but through the Pacific... and then you realize you never took off This is what this addon is - totally useless.
Positive reviews must be from Linux users. I have no idea how to use this extension AND how to view cookies via this extension. Uninstalled.
I like this extension.
It's so good that I manually signed-in to rate it 5 star, and I'm honest about it.
very impressed with the layout and the simplistic ease of use. very effective
Couldn't get along with this extension. Don't have and don't want a github account and none of the documentation gives an instruction on how to whitelist/greylist domains. Not providing support for basic functions without membership of an unaffiliated organisation is a dealbreaker for me.
Works as advertised.
Loved it
Nice ,thank you
Does what it says. I only want this to delete the cookies from a single site though and that's basically impossible it seems (unless I want to add thousands of cookies to the whitelist). Ended up not finding much use for it on my main browsers but on browsers I only use temporarily it does save some time from manually deleting a specific cookie as I don't care that it deletes all.
CAD is awesome, but the notifications option is broken. It is enabled, but I see no notification in the down right corner. I use CAD on Firefox too and there notifications work.
No more mean ugly tracking cookies. Very practical to set exception-rules so cookies are allowed for sites where login is necessary
doesnt automatically delete cookies, it doesnt even work. I have website open and even with automatic on it doesnt ever clear cookies out
removes all cookies
Unbelievably bad. I just want to see a list of my cookies and white list or grey list them. I neither understand nor have time for writing "Expressions" using abbreviated bits of code. I spent about half an hour reading support pages to try and understand what is going on and basically I can't be bothered with this. I see in the support pages someone has written how confusing "expressions" are and the response is "we all use expressions". Um, speak for yourself. As an aside don't write in the description that it is suitable for people "from housewives to executive professionals". These examples are sexist and dated.
so good the extension removes all the third party cookies and annoying ads
Best cookie handler I've seen. It's easy to use and very informative. The export/import functions have saved me work several times and have allowed me to keep computers in sync easily. The automation is superb, and you can always revert to manual cleaning with a number of options. It's use of color coding to convey information is innovative and handy.
it works
Little confused on how it works, but this review is just after installing, seems to work good so far
excellent
Absolutely love it! Just a few tips: 1. To make sure that you're kept signed in on sites that you want, make sure to click the cookie icon in the upper right and "+ Whitelist" the options that have an asterisk (*) right before them. 2. Make sure that you're periodically exporting your "Core Settings" and "Expressions" files to a cloud service, such as Google Drive or preferably a privacy-respecting provider (freefilesync.org, sync.com or Proton Drive). Then, if you ever want to apply your extension and website cookie settings to a new browser or machine, you can just use the Import function from the files from tip #2 and seamlessly pick up where you left off. Cookie AutoDelete is recommended by PrivacyTools.io and for good reason. If you haven't checked them out already, they have fantastic online privacy and security recommendations!
Awesome extension. Maybe out of scope, but have you considered adding the option to automatically unregister service workers for non-whitelisted domains?
This has been my favourite extention for years, but since it's "upgrade" in January 2021, it deletes the cookies in the White List, making this extention USELESS
Nice extension overall. One thing I've noticed is that you get logged out constantly on some websites, Google, Slack, Spotify, to name a few, even when you whitelist these websites. So forget about whitelisting these. It's probably not the best practice for privacy anyway...
I absolutely love it. Don't have to take care of these cookie modals popping up everywhere. I just accept "ALL" and let the extension handle the clean up. Perfect! Thanks a lot!
So far it seems as though it removes cookies not Whitelisted and that's what I want. Other cookie removers when cleaned/clicked they still leave cookies in Chrome cookie site data, this doesn't and I like it.
5 stars from me due to individual site clean feature,
Works seamlessly in the background taking care of the trackers and privacy destroying cookies everyone seems to think they need on your device.
Just the job, can keep the cookies that help to log in etc and dump the rest.
Very unfriendly. I want a means to BLACKLIST not whitelist cookies. It might do that with code of some sort, but it only offers whitelist, which I have in any other app. It indicates I can block specific cookies, but offers only a means to add code script with about zero help. I am looking for an app to block specific cookies that sites reintroduce. I will keep searching. I wish CCleaner would do this. That is a functional product to do what this does in a cryptic manner.
Can anyone say which particular cookie to disable in this so that we don't get signed off from google... I don't want to whitelist entire cookies of google but at the same time i don't want to get signed off each time i close it
Great extention! added to my "must have" list!
Useless and hard to understand unless ur a PC tech. After auto clean up, I saw 116 cookies still active..
Fantastic extension. It's a must have, along with Ublock Origin.
This extension is brilliant. It was a bit fuzzy in the beginning until I had whitelisted all my regular, most used websites. Now that I've done so, Auto-clean enabled is fantastic. Takes about 10 second after I shut down tabs until this extension quickly and quietly gets the job done. There's also an excellent log you can check out, to see how much wonders this extension is actually doing, in case you're unsure if it's helpful. Update: This is actually my all-time favorite extension now. Can't believe I haven't installed this much earlier than I did!
all you need are few minutes to learn how to use it, a few trial and error with this site and that. once you're familiarized on how it works and its controls or settings, you're all set. if you're unsure about anything in the settings, clicking the "?" icon that links you to the documentation can give you the details to help you understand what it's all about. ;)
Definitely 5Stars! This extension does what it supposed to. I experienced no bugs the whole time I am using this extension. Kudos to the creators for making this extension compatible with every Chrome update!
Fantastic! Intuitive, easy to use, and totally awesome at managing cookies. Easy to export settings and expression to my other devices. Thank you!!!!
it's good!
One of the the best privacy tools ever.
Awesome. Works really well !!
If you add Time based Auto clean option Like after 1 hour auto clean cookies even tabs are open because many time many people leave system in hurry open and their private data remains open if time based option will be available extension will automatically clean Cookies Thanks
Doesn't delete the local storage cookie. Tried with many different options offered. The cookie is not deleted even after a restart. Didn't work at all for me.
thank you so much
Seems the extension reports that Cookies are deleted, but when I look under the hood, the cookies are still there -- no change.
Works great and it is easy to understand.
Outstanding function, fast, and easy to use.
why is this not just built into the browser as a setting that allows all cookies to be deleted except those on the allow list, i have no idea, but im grateful for this.
The "Best" extension for the Chrome browser. Keeps it clean, tidy and problem free. Great product, Excellent functionality,
Tried deleting a specific cookie sid@*.google.com using greylist. Never did delete the cookie on browser restart. Gave up in frustration.
Uses too much CPU after a period of time, and CPU usage would stay high once it hits that point. Uninstalled and switched to Cookiebro, which has similar features, without the CPU usage issues.
FAB! but would love to see this on the new Chomium Edge- any plans ?
Although I haven't really been familiar with what cookies are for, the notifs help reassure me.
It works, but seems to be always a step behind the Firefox version. Chrome was stuck on 3.1.0 for days after they released 3.1.1 on Firefox and said the automatic deletion which was broken on Chrome was fixed on 3.1.1. Even now, the Chrome version still can't delete localstorage automatically, although I can do it manually.
Fantastic product. I can't imagine browsing without it.
THANK YOU Rick L.
Very happy with this extension
It work great!
Simply one of the most useful privacy extensions out there. Try it!
Seems to do what is needed. Very pleased with it. The web interface could be a bit clearer but this is only a small problem.
Yes!!! This is a good extension, I have been using it for around 7 months and it does all it claims without any fuss. Get it!
Simple and quick. Loved it.
It helps me a lot, one of the best for chrome
very simply, as far a s cookies go, THERE IS NO BETTER APP THAN THIS, PERIOD!!!
I've tried several cookie managers and this is by far my favorite. I have several chromium based browsers and this is installed on each of them.
Works beautifully. Does exactly as promised. Thanks to all who contributed to its design and implementation.
What are cookies =D?!
Excellent extension one of the best
Cookie Autodelete works very well.
Excellent functionality. Very pleased with this extension!
Very helpful
Great!
grate thing to have to stop fishing
None complicated program. Just lock and load. Highly recommended
It does exactly what it advertises. Its a fantastic program and easy to understand. One of the first extensions I add to a new pc.
I have not tried this extension. I did not ask for it - I have no need of it as I have other programs which delete cookies on request>
This is an essential part of your arsenal to avoid being tracked around the web and to keep websites from "borrowing" your login details to use elsewhere. I believe this tool is the best kept secret for Chrome. Well done CAD Team.
Really useful, am able to control which sites can leave their cookies on my machine
amazing tool and a must to have!
A useful little tool for limiting and deleting unwanted cookies.
Been using this extension for a long time and very successfully. However, Just noticed that this is NOT removing Facebook cookies automatically- on multiple Chrome browsers as it once did. Doing a manual clean DOES remove the cookies and log you off of Facebook. Is there some sort of special "treatment" going on these days that we now have to manually check? Google, Microsoft, etc?
Version 3.1.0 hasn't deleted cookies since March 20. Also uses 100% of CPU when its window is open.
This is a great extension for cookie management. For privacy and auto-deletion, it's this or Cookiebro. CAD focuses on deleting unwanted cookies, manually or automatically, which is all most users need. The interface is colorful and pretty straightforward. It benefits from active development and frequent updates. It doesn't have a blacklist for blocking cookies (which is fine, since you can configure blocked cookie domains in the browser itself) and instead any cookie not added to a list will be deleted. CAD introduces a "greylist" for cookies which won't be automatically deleted, but are purged when the browser is closed and reopened. Also take a look at Cookiebro, which is my other favorite cookie manager. It is more utilitarian, but has additional features like cookie editing and a robust cookie log view. However, it lacks some of CAD's advantages, like "Cleanup on domain change". I have had problems with import and export in the past but it looks like those issues may have been resolved with recent updates.
Excellent app! Still being developed, works well. Highly recommend.
Easy and awesome. This does exactly what I want except I'd like it if it also deleted local storage as well. Thank you.
Great extension! I use it on Brave browser and it works perfectly.
Excellent extension, I have been using it for a long time now, thumbs up !
As of January, 2020, still NO option to delete localstorage. Developer's site says: "The function/feature for localstorage is finally implemented in Chrome, but we haven't gotten around to enabling it for Chrome just yet." Well, when are you going to finally enable it? Hence, only 3 stars. Otherwise, it would be a solid 5!
Great Great Great. Can't say enough good things about this extension. If used properly, and you spend the time to set up your whitelist, this is amazing. ...but please turn off the bell notification. That's annoying. The visual notification is good enough. Put as option in settings. Thanks.
