It looks fantastic though I which the font was slightly larger.
Nice extension, but is it possible to add overflow-y: auto and max-height to the TOC element and let it be able to scroll up and down when having a really long TOC content?
Nice job, now I can open a .md file as a html file, it's helpful.
5 stars because it is the best MD viewer there is at the moment, IMHO, and I have tried them all. My only suggestion would be, please add support for endnotes.
Does not correctly render code blocks.
Super easy to setup and use. Works exactly the way I expected it to. Perfect for what I was needing.
pros: this is an excellent plugin cons: some of the mark downs don't render properly EX: Request Body<a name="API_DeleteFunctionEventInvokeConfig_RequestBody"></a>
thank a lot for this amazing extension
Very useful. It would be nice if it supports mermaid.
Excellent tool to develop your notes
Ok, fully meet daily use requirements
This is a great add on. It does a nice GitHub preview with auto-reload. You can also enable the preview of local files. Total awesomeness. Really useful. Would like a few more dark themes.
Thank god this was super easy to use. It's clear. Simple. Not a huge fan of manually enabling the file url setting, but hey. It works and is simple once set up. Thanks for making this.
It mostly works fine, but there are some problems with equations (enabled by KaTeX support checkbox): 1. Equations are rendered incorrectly: e.g. $\vec k$ doesn't have the arrow. 2. Some environments supported by MathJax seem to be not supported by this extension: e.g. "align".
Doesn't work. Opened a README.md file in chrome and no markdown. I toggled all the relevant options.
It supports only basic md features. but it doesn't support TOC, emojis, KaTeX, mermaid. And its font is not satisfactory.
TeX type math is no longer rendered correctly for me after the switch from MathJax to KaTeX. Does anyone know of a solution?
I hope add [title](url){:target="_blank"} usage in the extension.
Great app. I like the view Table of Contents option and that its configurable. Makes browsing large Markdown files easy.
Rendering is not as good as some competitors. Also, they all see to be failing to render checkboxes.
It's can't work. my systerm is win7. I have selected the Allow access to file URLs. But it still downloads the file instead of viewing it
I tried several markdown viewer. This one really works like a charm. Options are very useful. Awesome job!
Because of the auto-update feature I'm giving this 5 out of 5 stars!
I'll vote this to be best of chrome extension that I had this year. Now every of my markdown files that I hosted online can be viewed in the browser. Quick and easy. Thank you very much.
Great at formatting markdown however the new "BlogAnchor" element is very annoying, please make it optional. UPDATE: Since this review the owner has made the tablet of contents optional, great work!
After spending some time trying to find "Allow access to file URLs" option Chrome. App did correctly interpret my .md files. Disappointing...
Really love it, but the latest update has a TOC and I can't seem to turn it off. It is very in the way
Not bad. I used it with some long documents that have their own tables of contents with links to internal anchors. For example, a TOC item might link to "#glossary". Clicking that link should bring the corresponding "<a name='glossary' />" element in the document. It doesn't work with this extension. This extension adds its own anchors to the documents it renders, using a representation of heading names. However, the format of these anchors is specific to this extension and doesn't match anchors made by others. For example, GitHub's anchors are much different. If this extension would honor named anchors declared in the document, I'd give it a higher rating.
juicy
Doesn't work until you enable "Allow access to file URLs" in Chrome. That took a while to discover.
The mathjax render does not compete with latex. Could you please offer mathjax configuration?
How can I display utf8 in latest chrome ?
Awesome plugin with Latex support and live reloading (which makes all the difference) Just wish it better supported tables (its sooo easy to break a table and not have it render) and helped with debugging mathjax / latex errors.
Very nice!
I like the auto update feature a lot! Edit my file on one monitor, instantly see the changes on my second one. Very nice!
Works great just as expected.
Just works!
the best till now in it's kind
Works great! I'm using this to review my readme.me before sending to GitHub. It looks the most like it.
Excellent. Very useful for a *md* preview, I'm using it along with `gvim` as editor, and I can convert to LaTeX just at the very final stage. Strongly recommended.
Very useful. If the links to other markdown files worked, it'd be a lot nicer.
great app, install this ext, download laravel doc aaannnndd BOOM
Despite having checked the allow access to local files box, Chrome still insists on downloading the file. I've seen other people post about the same problem, but it seems the developers don't care.
This is my primary tool for going from a Markdown document to something I can copy/paste into an Outlook email. I also use it when presenting and wanting my notes to look prettier for other people. An essential part of my daily work toolkit. Thank you!
Loving it. Minor suggestion: Not everyone is aware of checking "allow access to file URLs" option in the chrome://extensions page for this extension to work. Maybe it could be included in the overview or option page.
It's just as good as chrome.
Doesn't work for local files. Running El Capitan.
中文始终乱码,不知道是不是不支持, utf8和gbk都是乱码,
Doesn't work for me on local (file:// ... .md) file even though enabled in settings. :(
didn't work on windows 7, maybe the file:///c:/ didn't match? (I did allow access to file URLs)
Very useful and MathJax works great. Remember to enable access to file URLs if you want to use it to preview local files.
Great Extension. Easy to tweak to fit personal style. No issues with character display or file access. Do some personal digging before reaching out to the developers for help. If you know markdown and an ounce of CSS; this extension can provide you with endless visual opportunities for document previewing and production.
Just shows text.
Remember to add "Allow access to file URLs" and it's a beauty.
I was unable to get it working with local files until I found the fix. You should add this blurb from another Markdown preview plugin: 1. Install extension from webstore (creates no new UI) 2. Check "Allow access to file URLs" in chrome://extensions listing: 3. Open local or remote .md file in Chrome. 4. See nicely formatted HTML!
Solid delivery, really enjoy it. No problems thus far.
Nice app, would be great to add more styles :)
You must enable "Allow access to file URLs" to view local markdown files.
* remember "Allow access to file URLs" * use "github" css that make images looks better and Chinese characters displayed properly.
Tested three other md viewers, none supported lists, this one was the first to do so. 5 stars after finding the option to hide the "M" in the browser bar
Works very well. I like the refresh ability, so it works more like a side-by-side editor/preview when viewing file:/ resources in Chrome while editing the files in a text editor. There are some minor problems, for example `*text*` is rendered as *text* instead of italicized code. But this extension does a better job at handling GitHub flavored markdown, specifically ``` some code block with line breaks ``` whereas another Markdown Preview extension does not handle that notation. The syntax coloring for JSON in ```JSON ``` blocks is sometimes off but that is not a major problem.
Tested on a local .md file, didn't work.
It still have some issues to deal with. International characters are messed up. Seem like it uses windows decoding as default. Syntax highlighting is applied to parts of words, which can make preformatted text look wierd. For example with "sudo", the second half of the word is highlighted, because it is "do".
I would have chosen it if it could support non-US char in utf8 without bom files !
Very useful app, I like this way of viewing over the twinview editors.
I hate Google for restraining rating no more than 5-star, actually I want to rate Markdown Preview Plus 10-star! This is one of the best Chrome plugins I've ever used, good job! Thanks.
Like said before: After you enable "Allow access to file URLs" in Chrome extension page, this will let you have a local preview of markdown files. and We need a toggle! Works perfectly! Thanks!
I learned MarkDown and tried CODE block, that is working fine in the GitHub. Works exactly as advertised. Using this to edit Github flavored MD.
As Ashkan said, 'enable "Allow access to file URLs" in Chrome extension page'. We just need a way to toggle the functionality now just in case I want to see the raw text too.
After you enable "Allow access to file URLs" in Chrome extension page, this will let you have a local preview of markdown files. Works perfectly! Thanks!
Excellent! It's output is much prettier than all other markdown parsers I tried (probably because the predefined CSS is tuned), and works like a charm. I don't know a Chrome extension can work better than native apps. The only minor defect is that it does not support the checklist extension of GitHub flavored markdown.
Doesn't work. There is a button on the bar which has an 'Export to HTML' button. Pressing the button has no effect. Viewing the page in Chrome you see the text markup, not the formatted text.
Works wonderfully until Chrome 38 (dev build 281711). Edit: Don't bother. Now working with build 283799.
Much better than Markdown Preview. Don't know why it doesn't show up in search for markdown in chrome web store.
Excellent extension, I loved it. There are few shortcomings though. First, the default styles are kinda dull. When I try to add my own styles, there is a 4kb limit on the css files. I hope I find a css file that looks like the one in the screenshot and <4kb.
Very nice!
Yup, works right out of the box, no issues. Nice options page and feature set without extra clutter. Thanks!!
Works brilliantly.
Works exactly as advertised. Using this to edit Github flavored MD. You must enable "Allow access to file URLs" option in the Chrome extension page to access your local files. Then click the Markdown Preview Plus button and choose more options, then select the github CSS. That will enable you to see your MD exactly as it would look like on Github. Great job, Great addon!
Awesome - fixes all the shortcomings in Markdown Preview - live reload and multiple CSS files.
Works well. In Chrome 28 you need to go into Options->Extensions to enable access for local files.
Works well.
Nice extension. Exactly what I want when editing a .md file in vim. BTW, there is a bug in v0.31. That is the GitHub theme does not work. I noticed that the css file name is GitHub.css (Capital H) but in the generated HTML, it try to use Github.css (lowercase h).
I would really love it if it could do Smartypants conversion as well. I would love HTML block elements to render like the Daring Fireball Dingus does, though.
Can't display umlauts. No support for tables.
It doesn't work with local file in Linux. e.g. file:///Home/*/foo.md Please fix it.
seems like a new version of chrome broke this. it does not work anymore (at least not with local file urls)
Great, and very useful!
Hi, can you please add the .mkd extension?
