So BTTV recently added a feature to modify emotes (wide, vertical flip, horizontal flip). So FFZ's response to this was to also allow for emote modifications themselves, make you pay for them, and break the BTTV emote modifications when FFZ app is installed. classic
can't twitch without this
I've been a long time user of FFZ in regards to browser emote extensions, but the recent w!, h!, etc., modifiers make chat unnecessarily unreadable if you don't have the extension. Truly the worst feature brought out by this extension. Hopefully the feature can be changed so it is less intrusive.

Great extension but... I am BEGGING you to fix the bug that breaks switching between channels. It's been over a month. Please. For the devs: it might be related to the audio compressor. Once a livestream loads and it enables, switching to another stream seems to break streaming (infinite loading indicator on all channels).

Randomly stopped working for me on Google Chrome. The toggle icon shows up grey and I cannot click on it. Please help.
I have an idea. can u please add audio only to stream quality menu. I can get every stream's audio only m3u8 link using https://pwn.sh/tools/getstream.html website but if u add that to the twitch player it will be awesome. thank you.

I used this extension for so many years, bought the supporter badge etc... Bugs and lack of updates drove me back to BTTV, which I uninstalled in the past for the same reason To my surprise, their extension has improved to a state where I now prefer it. RIPBOZO
A must have for Twitch. Features of note: disabling the autoplaying video on the homepage, auto-pausing new streams, disabling the auto-join Raid feature (where a streamer can end his stream and send his viewing audience to another streamer), auto-claim a channels bonus reward points, modify the websites default date-time display format, customize the theme/color palette, and custom default font (great for Dyslexia font for those that need/prefer it).
funny how both bttv and 7tv have worked to get youtube implemented and you guys could care less. useless extension.
Keeps asking attention with an annoying notification bubble. As an end user I want to forget about its existence. Autocomplete is also buggy.

Great extensh that makes a mandatory pair with BTTV. Latest "fix" is weird tho, makes not subbed streamer emotes not visible in the list, can only view em in the subscription menu.
The only reason twitch is still entertaining.

This extension is no longer Pog. Would give ZERO stars if I could. The devs are bootlickers for Twitch. Switch to BTTV for a better experience.
It was good until they removed a bunch of harmless pog emotes.

Edit: never mind it just kinda resolved itself. 5 stars I'm loving it so far but for some reason I can't see some of the FrankerFaceZ emotes. If anyone could maybe figure out why this is I'd be grateful.
Cultured people use this and BTTV.
Have used FFZ for years now, but recently, streams have started to lag and buffer often (more often when chat was moving fast, or there was mass-gifted subscriptions), despite having a very fast internet connection, and I couldn't figure out why. After a few weeks of suffering, I decided to try and disable the FFZ extension, and the lag disappeared. So, I'm not sure what aspect of FFZ is causing issues (I had tried resetting all settings to factory, reducing chat history counts, etc.), but it's causing issue for me sadly as of late. :\ Despite this, it's still a super awesome extension providing a lot of customization, I just hope whatever performance issues it might have gets ironed out soon, because I'm having to either hide chat, or disable FFZ, to have a solid viewing experience...
Tons of things to customize and make the Twitch chatting experience more enjoyable.
The audio compression is amazing, the emotes are great. I love how any emote/link can be seen by hovering over it. Even the small changes like how you can see deleted chat messages. Overall great extension.
Essential for every twitch viewer.

Definitely useful, and more powerful than BTTV it seems. Missing the option to click the video to pause though that BTTV has, which would be very welcome for vods at least.

The "Enable FrankerFaceZ features for Chat on Videos" option breaks emote addons on VODs, such as _HK or _BW, etc. Other than that, pretty good.

Maybe there could be options to modify the buffer settings like in Alternative Player for Twitch.tv? I would also like a custom delay for artificial chat delay (which is useful for extreme buffer size).

Twitch couldnt care less about FFZ, yet devs never fail to update and continue to provide the best extension for twitch. Cant use twitch without FFZ and the Addon Pack for it :)

Doesn't work with vods
Great app but I hope they keep updating it, features such as emotes being available in vods are missing for now, since the Twitch update.
Doesnt work with VODs because author considers vods users of ''low priority'' (exact words he used https://github.com/FrankerFaceZ/FrankerFaceZ/issues/330)
The new UI to this extension is terrible. for an extension that boasts its UI...its really sucky.

There are still some missing features but most of the good stuff are back.
Loved it with old twitch, now that the new system is forced from twitch's end its features aren't as robust yet. It should recover soon enough, updates and fixes have always been fast with FFZ. Update Jan '18: Dev has gotten back to work after holidays and such, hoping the missing features get patched in soon! (Still has better dark mode compared to BTTV, I currently use both)

since the most recent change I have no idea where anything is and the stuff that is available I am not sure what it does (I mainly used the emote part of this and had the emote list enabled and now that is gone)

Just a fair warning, works amazing but does not work in the beta version of the twitch site. If you download and it isn't working check to make sure you are in the old twitch version. Other than this the extension is a must have!
Extension much better than BTTV. Though, totally broken with Twitch BETA. Hope it gets fixed!

Get this & Dump BTTV for the FrankerFaceZ Add-on pack (this extra add-on does require Tampermonkey, though it is also lightweight.) It's VERY light-weight & much more user-friendly.
If you use Privacy Badger or another extension that blocks cookies it will interfere with FrankerFaceZ.
its a great extension but i wish it had better support with BTTV sometimes i get frankerfacez errors in console stops twitch from loading followers page or loads streams but the chat doesnt load

Just installed this. A lot more options than BTTV plus you can still use all the emotes from BTTV
Great extension. Far ahead of BTTV in terms of features and customization. Lightning fast updates to deal with Twitch's newest crap. Only negative I can think of is how poorly it is marketed. The description in the Chrome Store just says "Use a variety of unique faces on Twitch!". Combine that with the name "FrankerFaceZ" and most people (myself included) probably wrote this off as another useless emote extension. The upside down FrankerZ picture used in the store doesn't help either. I would have switched from BTTV months ago had I known that many of the features I wanted added to BTTV were already available. BTTV has nearly 10x the user base while having 1/10 of the features. Either way, 10/10 extension

This + "BTTV Emotes for FFZ" is all you need for the ultimate Twitch experiments.
Really good. Would love to make some emotes with it. But it really does reach out to all my needs especially as I mod alot of channels on Twitch

This is a fun little app that allows for more emoticons on Twitch, giving some visibility for newer streamers. Good app if you use the website a lot!

This is a really fun app! I love the fact that is allows lesser known streamers create their own emotes so people can enjoy more of them! Never had any problems or bugs, so I am a happy camper.

When people say that this extension is better than BTTV in every way, they are not kidding. FFZ allows you to customize so many more options for Twitch. Options you didn't even know that you wanted. My favorite is that you can turn on emote mouse-hovering, that gives you a larger, hi-res (when available) image for ALL emotes. It's kind of crazy seeing all your favorite emotes in amazing detail. Coming from an oldschool JustinTV user who used BetterJTV then BetterTTV for years, this is by far the best option. And if you're worried about losing your BTTV emotes, don't. Search for extension "BetterTTV Emotes for FrankerFaceZ" and you will be able to use and see ALL BTTV emotes, even channel specific ones.
This app gives a great assortment of different emoticons to use, along with allowing newer streamers to get their own without a partnership with Twitch!
Makes twitch better and the emote gimmick is fun
Only flaw I can see about this app is that it doesn't have desktop notifications. Like if someone mentions you in chat while you're tabbed out, you'll never know. Or at least add a sound to it. If this is added, I'll permanetely move to FrankerFaceZ.
I was a bit skeptical after BetterTTV didn't have as much to offer as I had hoped, but man was I pleasantly surprised. FrankerFaceZ has so much more customizability with every aspect of Twitch than BTTV does. And if you miss the emotes from BTTV, there's an extension for that!
Better than BTTV, just less popular as from the outside it simply looks like some lame emote extension. ...but it actually has way more features than BTTV, and some really cool ones at that. Dark mode; pause chat on mouse hover; modify the horrible default username colours to have less contrast; see live viewers, subscribe button etc. in cinema view (on mouse hover); see stream uptime and stream delay beside live viewer count (also shown on cinema view mouse hover); and a lot more. It takes a bit of configuring, but your Twitch experience will be much greater as a result. Basically: get it—unless you can't live without BTTV emotes. Edit: Oops, you can actually download the 'BetterTTV Emotes for FrankerFaceZ' extension to get BTTV emotes. You have no excuses.
Issues with theater mode while using this extension only. It moves the Sub, Follow, Share, etc buttons onto the player and is a huge nuisance. Would be 5 stars if not for this. Unusable in its current state
A lot of customization, from your own emotes, to changing chat font, to even changing how chat works. This is basically the plugin to use with twitch. The dev has done a wonderful job with this extension.

The chat is still a little too bright in "Dark Mode", other than that I feel that it greatly enhances the Twitch experience and doesn't have anything too distracting in addition. Does exactly what it says.

Great; the custom emotes are one thing but the best part are the other features -- proper name capitalization, a menu for all emotes you have access to, desktop notifications, etc.
