Broken addon. After installing and enabling this addon, it constantly blinks "https://www.wikipedia.org/" to death.
It's love at first sight. It makes the Wikipedia pages finally readable!
Amazing!
Got this to deal with the awful new default theme Wikipedia has implemented. The customization is excellent, though it would be nice to have the option to hide the table of contents by default rather than having to close it every time you open a new article.
Installed it for the dark mode, but it's useless since formulas become invisible.
This is the only chrome extension i've ever written a review for. This extension is incredible, i wish all websites were built with this level of display control, it's is so slick and so easy and so much more comfortable to read wikipedia now, thank you!!!
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE GEAT EXTENSION! but...can you add the same theme to other wiki stuff, e.g., Wikiversity. thank you!
Very good extension. But here's some moments that you should change, like images, tables and etc. colors and contrasts due to theme. If you set the Dark theme, you'll barely see the images (for instance, formulas) and also there are images with white background (which not comfortable for eyes), so it would be better if you take attention to such details. I tried to add in your code some changes (like, in Dark theme, for formulas and tables, "filter: contrast(0);", and for only tables "background-color: transparent;".
Way better than Wikiwand. Simple, straightforward and actually modern.
This extension is absolutely amazing.... BUT! There's one huge issue with the extension and it's more of a nitpick that has unfortunately turned me off from further using this extension. That issue is that there's no random article button anywhere in sight. Sometimes, I love to read random articles out of pure boredom because it can show up some amazing articles that are genuinely fascinating and a blast to read. This being omitted from this extension really irks me so badly that I am now having to use Wikiwand to get a good Wikipedia experience (and that app hasn't been updated in over a year). If the developer(s) of this extension code in a random article function / button to the Modern Wikipedia Reader, then I'll be interested in returning to using this extension. But for now, it's partially useless for me. Such a shame since the rest of the extension is PHENOMENAL!
This Review is after 10mins of usage!! This extension is fricking awesomeeeee I just tumbled upon it not by searching on my own and OMG it's gonna make reading Wiki so much more easier now I loved the themes as well thanks a lot. I hope this extension stays the same and does not become paid or something. Thank you Devs!
isn't working for edge..no option appears when i click on it
The article content column on the left side of the screen takes up too much real estate, and there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust it either for width or font size. Uninstalled for now but could be interested in revisiting this extension in the future. Update: from 4 stars to 5. The extension looks great and is friendly with some of my other must-have extensions like Imagus and Dark Reader. One small nit is being directed to the disambiguation page because of very minor syntax errors like failing to capitalize a last name. This only happens when I use a custom browser search engine (edge://settings/searchEngines --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%s where %s is the search term). The search within the extension itself works as it should. All in all, really fantastic work! It looks great and is a pleasure to use!
When clicking onto new links, the WIKIPEDIA logo became very big for some reason before returning to normal size. It looks very weird and unsmooth. Other than that it is very good.
Home Page looks weird, especially in Dark Mode. But overall it's good
Indispensable. I don't understand why Wikipedia isn't like this already.
I hated reading Wikipedia articles because of the interface it has. I tried a bunch of other extensions but didn't get the result I wanted. This is what I ever wanted. Thank you, guys!
One of the best extensions out there, Wikipedia's design is truly outdated, it's always been an eye sore for me! This extension is very similar to the original Wikipedia design, yet feels refreshed and modern. Definitely recommend it!
This extension really changes the way you see Wikipedia. I especially love Dark mode on Wikipedia. However there's a problem. This extension is mostly made for english Wikipedia and some tables in wikipedia of other languages can still be white even with dark mode.
Very great design!
One of the best extensions
Works perfectly
Absolutely amazing and highly aesthetic! It's even better than the already excellent extension Wikiwand.
Men the second i add the extension i breath out relieved. absolutely recommended extension
It;s beautiful!!
Very nice, especially the fact that you can customize many of the layout parameters.
hwo do i enable dark mode lul
Amazing :D includes a beautiful menu and dark mode. Highly recommend!!
Great job! Love it as well! Only piece that still bugs me is the unstyled tables, as has been mentioned here before. Otherwise, it's come a long way. Keep it up! I was looking to make a PR for the tables, but couldn't find it on Github or anywhere else. You're not open sourcing this anywhere?!
Persistent TOC is a great feature! As for bugs, I've noticed that some titles remain black even in dark mode. For example: The Betty White Show (1952 TV series). And yeah, tables aren't styled.
So far so good
Wikipedia must default this.
Perfectly made. Literally no complaints for this. Also 5 stars for the settings panel where you can change font and page colors!!!!
Absolutely beautiful. I love it. The only issue I have is that tables are unstyled and they stand out like absolute eyesores in dark mode. Also I think that the "color-scheme: dark;" property should be applied so that the scrollbar isn't also as prominent.
Truly fantastic - it has changed the experience of reading Wikipedia for good. Can't live without it now.
Very nice, it's a shame Wikipedia doesn't implement this themselves! Buy this from the author, Wikipedia! However one suggestion is that like some other reviewers I think the width is too small. I inspected the page, increased the page width from 760px to 1000px and removed right-padding from the content and it looks great. I'm not an expert but this modern web store page has a max-width of 1000px and looks fine so I would have thought that'd be around standard. Thanks!
It feels much nicer than the default design. I especially appreciate the paper 'yellowish' background theme as it's easier for the eyes.
Been looking for something like this forever!
cool and good (thumbs up emoji)
A little janky for me. Looks great on its website but on my browser (14" notebook, 1080p, 100% Windows scaling) the article width was way too small by default and expanding it made the page look lopsided. It's very busy on the left and center with nothing on the right side. Setting page width to max makes the left side of the text brush right up against the scrollbar on the table of contents with no margin. It gives a convenient menu to set font size, font type, content width, line spacing, and color scheme, which is really nice. The table of contents always present on the left side and tracking your position helps with long articles.
i like it.
Nice changes! Feels a lot like ibooks but in a good way
Feels great to read and smooth font and feels like material world. I loved it. Just wanted to ask if we have the option to reset the settings ??
Clean design. Love it.
