Amazing Extension for video's downloading.
Used to work well, but stopped working recently. I've uninstalled, etc, but still not working. Even when it did work I would have to re-load the webpage to do more that one video, as it just adds them all to a list but doesn't show which video is which to download, so often I download the wrong one, when it worked.

This extension WORKS!
Unfortunately doesn't work. Instead of actually downloading a video it presents a message box that forwards me here..to review and score the extension. Obviously was it working and actually downloaded the file when pressing the green Download button..you know...instead of pushing me here to rate an extension that delivered me not the file I, honestly just took for granted would work I absolutely would have been more generous with the rating. Alas it just isn't meant to be I suppose.. Fare well and good ridens broken extension.

Most of these video downloading apps either don't work at all or only partially work. I installed the Video Downloader Professional extension well over a year ago and this is one of the very few extensions of this type that I haven't had any problems with at all. The simple design without a lot of undue complexity is why it works flawlessly and it does one thing and does it very well.

WARNING: BROWSER HIJACKER / SEARCH REDIRECTOR! I hate the person who made this plug-in ("StartPage24") more than I can possibly describe. They added a Google Search redirector that changes your search results. When you are searching for something, a few seconds after you get the results, the contents of the page refreshes and the top results are changed to *commercial* results, and StartPage24 gets a click-through payment if you click on any of them. I endured months of this frustrating situation, which basically made Google useless to me. For example, let's say you're searching for something like "Lewis Carroll school years", wanting to find out about what his life was like at Oxford. At first, you will get academic results, which are what you want. Then, after 2-3 seconds, those results will refresh, and now the top results will be links to Carroll's books on Amazon, some school today called "Carroll School", "We found Lewis Carroll's arrest record" on PeopleFinder, etc. NOT what you want! To figure out which plug-in was causing this required me to go through every one of the 60 or so plug-ins that I run, disabling each of them and testing a Google search. But it is DEFINITELY this one. Avoid this, and anything else from "StartPage24" like the plague, since that's basically what it is: a plague.

I tested many alternatives which led me to this version of Video Downloader Professional This app, which may be an upgraded version of my previous downloader of the same name, is not only secure but again, a much faster and cleaner GUI dowloader. I've gone through many different video downloaders in the past and I can say many of them don't work they claim they do but, they truly don't and others half work they download but, it's so bad you'd have a better time watching whatever it is on youtube in 240p. This one downloads it in higher resolutions and doesn't restrict better or faster downloads behind massive uesless paywalls I'd truly recommend it to those who just want to grab a movie or series and watch it on the go or on their tv

I don't know what they did to this extension, but it absolutely does NOT work anymore. No matter what website I go to, a red dot shows up on the green arrow and you can't download ANYTHING. This used to work like a charm before now. It's too bad I can't give it NO stars.

I've posted int he support feed as well. used to be great, then about 2 weeks ago, stopped working. no one is answering the support page. and yes, I've already updated Chrome, and reinstalled the extension. still nothing.

This downloader pro is the best video downloader I have found for Chrome and firefox. Virtually captures everything thrown at it. And it retains the original title of the video.l Other video downloaders give some numeric titles when you download and it become cumbersome to rename them. This is outstanding product.

I tried to use this extension for a video streaming site to download a long video, but the plugin would not detect the video despite refreshing the page. The email support does not work. I would not recommend this plugin.

This extension NEVER works when I want it to! It will only work to download the most undesired and useless videos, such as the commercials on the web page but not the actual video I want. Piece of garbage. It's better just to record the screen with Camtasia or use Google tools to download the video you want
Does not work with YouTube, as Google will not allow extensions that download YouTube videos. This is the problem with using a browser that is not open-source like Firefox. If an extension will effect Google financially (even just a little) they'll simple disable it.

Excellent tool for extracting videos from sites, very useful on a variety of sites not just YouTube
I haven't found any video downloader that can download videos from youtube. if you want that sign for premium account. never tried from Instagram, facebook, twitter (I don't even have account on those site). but use for other places and this is the simplest thing to use for downloading video. Other downloader require cut-paste urls before it even tries to download videos.

I wanted to delete my original review and write a new updated one for 2022: This extension can't download video from the places I would like to download videos from (Instagram, youtube, facebook, twitter, etc). It can't even download videos from news websites either. If you were expecting to download video from any of these websites / sources with this extension then you will be sad. I'm writing this review to save you the time of trying it.

what happened to this extension..? the green arrow appears with the size of the files but when i clicked the download link, nothing pops up, like the "save as" windows didnt pop up at all so i couldnt download any videos at all, specifiacally videos on bilibili (chinese version). it was working fine last year. please fix this developers :(

Used to work a lot more than it does now. Always having trouble downloading in the last year or so. sometimes the green arrow doesn't even appear at the top of the browser. Always having to reinstall, or try multiple times or multiple ways of downloading to get success.
