Does nothing for the one job I needed it for.
Nice to have but: -doesn't have an undo function so you have to go into extension settings and undo all erasures on a page. -doesn't remember erasures on facebook
THIS IS AMAZING I CAN USE IT TO BYPASS PAYWALLS
I found the "Click to Remove Element" plugin to be much better.
This eraser extension is actually a great, easy & fastest than anything else. I have been using it for very long time. The most useful part is that it completely deletes the element from the pages source code and not just hide it from being visible. Another great thing is that it saves the erased elements. Thanks a lot to the developer for making this amazing extension.
works well
Great idea but I can't rollback mistakes... Please add an option to add one part back.
Awesome plugin and very useful. Please implement for login based to see the erasers. So anywhere I can login and use my erasers. Great work. Thanks for your support.
It makes sites that are saturated with ads actually usable. If a regular adblocker won't function I suggest using this to make websites like Citation Machine more tolerable.
Does absolutely nothing when the icon is clicked. Even after reloading pages. Edit: If reloading doesn't work try closing Chrome completely and reopening. However this doesn't allow me to remove the huge amount of white space to the right of a Google search so it doesn't help with what I need.
It did what it said it does but it lacks a lot of features that would make it actually useful in day to day use. Right now it could be useful if you need to take a screenshot of something and want to hide elements but even so, the lack of an undo button makes the task rather assiduous. [edit] i keep trying to use it but without an undo option it's just frustrating. [/edit] If intended for browsing the extension would really benefit a modifier that could erase the whole class of that type on pages from that domain (very useful on forums for example to remove all avatars from the page).
Does not work with the latest version of Chrome.
Needs a "undo" feature. Need to have the "Remove Selected" on the top of page Needs to have a hot key binding. Needs to work in more situations
What's the point? The content is there when you refresh. You don't need an extension to do this. Hit F12 then CTRL + SHIFT + C, then delete the content you don't want.
Installed it to remove intrusive and annoying elements from a page. After reloading the page, it worked instantly. Two necessary features: 1) doesn't work in iFrames! 2) option to NOT remember "erasers"
It appears that this is not being updated, but it still works great! There are a few improvements that I would like to see though: - undo - allow page structure to be maintained or not on a page-by-page basis - hide elements globally for a website (e.g. Facebook, news sites, etc.)
good
Seems like this gets rid of those GDPE click through panels quite effectively.
Not WORKING!!!!!!!!
You have to be smart enough to use the settings page for each page you edit: chrome-extension://ekofpchjmoalonajopdeegdappocgcmj/options.html.
Perfect.
This is just fishing for your personal info, doesn't work at all
Only works on particular pages, and doesn't work site-wide. So you can't clean up Amazon product pages, only one particular product page
Freaking best extension ever. Simple, easy, direct. Never fails. If only there was one for Firefox as well.
This effectively removes _most_ elements from webpages. However, I used it for over a month before I realized that it REMEMBERS the elements you erase, and removes them again whenever you open the same pages! You can open its options (right-click Page Eraser icon in toolbar; click Options) to see a list of these elements, then select and remove any of them you wish. But the author really should mention this in the extension's description. I also wish you could toggle it to make erasures persistent or temporary.
great! i don't look at the words i hate ever again!
A life saver for me, so many sites have not only annoying but truly disturbing and limiting elements that make the website unusable. With this extension I'm able to work, without it I can't.
Works perfectly! Deleting elements couldn't be smoother, and they won't reappear after you refresh =) 10/10
Works great for me... Just one more thing would be helpful: A "suspend" mode where NOTHING is blocked until the "suspend" mode is cancelled.
Absolute garbage. Doesn't work at all. Waste of time and effort. Don't waste your time with this.
It works with a bit of tweaking, however it would be great if you could great wildcards for domains or subdomains so you dont have to add a rule for every page clicked. Also ability to edit the saved URLs in the options area would be nice
Erase the unnecessary for me! Hehe
It doesn't work on Google ads, which are the only ones in the industry that cover content, making visiting a website utterly pointless.
It doesn't seem to work, at least not anymore in 2017. I use HackTheWeb and Live Edit on Firefox and am attempting to find a similar extension on Chrome. If anyone has recommendations, please let me know!
Very easy and removes page elements effectively. But it's got one HUGE problem: The feature to remove page elements for all visits to a page is ALWAYS ON. Seriously? No on/off checkbox for that feature? To get back a full page I have to go to the settings and remove the page from the list of "erasers"? If you want to occasionally remove an annoying ad or video clip, this is NOT a good extension.
Doesn't do anything.
Terrible plugin. Sure, it deletes elements from your active page, but when you reload it's back. What's the point of that? This is a glorified Element Inspector in Chrome. Useless.
Finally a plugin that works and does page-element-removal so well!
cannot close eraser after element choosing
good!
Blocked the elements until the page was reloaded and then they are back!
Works fine. Could be greatly improved. I would like when an element is blocked to be blocked in the whole domain I would also like a keyboard shortcut. I would also like an undo option
Doesn't work on youtube, which is where I need it the most.
It's just bad. How hard is it to have a noscript like element blocker that actually works and remembers?
does not hide permanently.
it simply couldn't removed anything. I removed this extension.
Works great to block unwanted elements and get past login nag overlays. FEATURE REQUEST: Add an "Enable Scrolling" option to the right-click menu which resets "body>overflow" to "auto !important" Some sites like Quora have an annoying tendency to hide scrollbars during their login nag, so even if you use PageEraser to get past the overlay - you can't scroll the page without opening Chrome DevTools & changing the overflow property.
Doesn't work.
Does what it says it does
It works slow, after loading page, then he works. looks like gojni :)
Love it, keep on improving it!
Awesome!
It doesn't work at all
Very good, though the Element highlighting feature is kind of buggy. I Wish there was a way to customize the hot key, or at least remind the user of the CTL + SHIFT + E hotkey in the Details window.
1. It doesn't delete the element, it hides it by leaving empty space and ruins the layout. 2. Doesn't work when javascript is turned-off.
Great!!! if it doesn't work when you install it, you need to just reload a page and that's all! Helped me to clean distractors, thanks a lot! I'd love to see there any "undo" option, because if I clean something important, I need to start from beginning.
Works wonderfully. See something annoying: hide it. It stays hidden.
it is amazing! it removes any unwanted things on websites! best extension i've ever seen!
Please add undo button and the ability to share a modified page with other owners of this plugin.
It won't do ANYTHING except cause errors. I try to block the element. It will higlight the element in red but then IT WON'T SAVE THE CHANGES. I can't even cancel out of it! It is stuck on Block Element Mode. The only way out is to F5 the page which resets everything to previous, and it of course does not block what you want it to. it never saves the settings.
I liked it for a little bit but than I removed my whole page for fun and now It wont come back. I tried reloading, changing the theme, and Restarting the computer. Nothing worked.
Broken. Click the button to activate and nothing happens. Latest version of chrome on Yosemite.
Terrible. You have to re-erase what you don't want to see every time you return to a page.
It's unfortunate that this tool can't handle Facebook elements. I do appreciate what it does for the very low overhead it requires compared to similar tools, but I only needed it for one site, and it doesn't work there. Your mileage may vary.
This Extension is very helpful when I want to save a webpage for offline reading, but don't want unnecessary stuff like ads, comments, etc. Without this extension I have to open the Developer Tools, inspect every single element or DOM node which I want to disappear an remove it one by one. It is an absolute time saver, thanks for you work!
Now, I can save my time by avoiding inspect element!
I wanted to use it to hide a support number for another product from another company's live support agent that wanted to assist me with another product. I can't use this to hide my customer ID number on another service from the live support agent. Please fix this so I can select content.
It only erases certain elements of a particular page. You have to manually erase it again if you go to the next or a different page in the same domain. Hope you do the necessary changes!
Works as advertised! Only wrinkle: erasures aren't sync'd to be accessible across computers/browser installations.
it keeps redirecting me to terms of usage/services of socail sites
Doesn't work for me.
It's awful, try yourself and you will see why. For example I often download from a specific site where it has those "fake" download 'images' near the actual links to trick the user to click them and fall into an adware/malware domain. This extension for example is useless for this job.
Failed to work as described. Makes pretty red mark over certain elements. This sucked.
Really nice tool. Can block individual posts or threads on forums.
useful
Not as elegant as Nuke Anything for Firefox, but it works.
hides undesired visual parts of pages but doesn't always seem to hide on return, if only it' hide the same similar types of ads or elements on ALL pages once specified
Love it but needs an undo button. If you accidently press something you have to remove all erasers and start over. Also, would be nice if the erasing happens instantly instead of after 2 seconds. I had to edit my comment. Initially I loved it, however my main use is for removing categories on forums I don't wish to read.. However, a simple f5 shows it doesn't remember all the changes i've made.. Because of this, it doesn't work for me thus 2 stars
I want to hide the youtube view count but it doesn't work.
Works perfectly as intended. Was able to remove that redundant google search bar from new tab screen!
Doesn't work on the websites I want to use it on.
Perfect !!
I was using another extension called hacker vision which was incompatible with this.. once I removed that, it worked flawlessly.. And to the person who said it doesn't work on facebook, it works great for me! and it remembers what I've done on refresh.. Update: On facebook, only some elements work and this is because facebook uses dynamic id's & classes for their elements to prevent scripting/automation .. I used it because I wanted to get rid of the annoying chat bar ... worked like a charm for that
Simple solution for the awful changes to the New Tab page.
please include option to use wildcards in the next update
Good concept, useful, but changes do not persist in gmail after refreshing the page. Can't find any solution.
Editable URLs that include wildcard rules would be a massive help.
Can't seem to edit what urls that a particular 'eraser settings' applies to. So, you can erase bits of a single page, but it'll only work on that one article on the site. Makes it more or less useless.
Doesn't work at all on facebook. The erasings never persist on page reloads. Otherwise I love it.
Pretty brilliant little app. This is especially useful for preparing a page to be printed or saved as a PDF. Not only can ads and ugly formatting be removed, but frames not intended to be shared can be hidden as well. Note that it *DOES* save erased selections between sessions for a given URL.
Helped me out of trouble several times. Very good. Keep it up.
useful, but Erased Elements hide instantly is not work,it;s tooooooo slow
Oh thank you so much for making this. Makes Google+ usable.
Best thing ever for nasty images
For some reason it does not want to save all of the changes I have made to a page, just some..
Good concept. Erased elements really should persist with future page views, though.
usefull for websites with annoying flash banners
I love it\
Exactly what I was looking for. I can remove elements I don't want to print. Thanks!
I use it prior to "printing" pages to PDF, so I don't need persistence. For my needs, works remarkably well.
