This is malware. It changes your default search engine. The tool actually works, but, this is unacceptable. DO NOT DOWNLOAD and report this mess.

It works pretty well, however, it changed my search engine from google to bing somehow, when a plugin does some whack stuff like that it is super annoying and will always get a 1 star from me. Please don't change my settings.
Great app, but it's "control over the search engine" makes it totally unusable.
The extension works great for its advertised purpose of capturing GIF's. However it changes your default search engine in Chrome. Terrible.

Worked great! No recording time limit..... Well just as other reviewer said, it modified the default search engine, which is annoying.
Great tool, but greed took over and voila, the extension changes your default search engine to a pre-gothic one (if you know what I mean!). And if you change back your search engine, the extension is gone... Might be an adware with data collection!!! you have been warned. Reporting it to Google...

Don't know why people rated it so low. It's a super handy, simple and powerful tool to capture your browser screen to a gif. I loved it!

Loved this at first> I use it to capture inspo for my digital content graphic design job. Used to work great, now it switches my search engine to bing!! I see others are having this issue and will not use ever again. I needed to have it installed to write this review, coming off right after.

Was a happy user for while, but newer version installed a Trojan search engine, 'smartwebfind' as the default search, reported abuse.
Used to be a great extension until it made browser's default search to smartwebfind.com and showing results from bing. To make things worse smartwebfind.com is not even https, so definitely something fishy going on. AVOID !!!!
It's disabled now because the extension makes your default search engine as smartwebfind.com and then shows results from bing and unable to disable that from settings, your dead to me now
The extension disabled itself and says I have to change my default search provider to "smartwebfind.com" to reenable it. No thanks, and reported for abuse.
This was a great little extension for capturing gifs of website features i'm building but today it updated and for some reason decided to change my default search provider in google to some other search engine which then resolves the search to Bing. That's a pretty big change for something that has nothing to do with searching.
Malware. Changes default search to bing and makes them money from you. Avoid!
better than chrome capture
Very simple and useful! I use it all the time to record the behavior/animation of the components I am developing.
Super handy. Have to use the keyboard to engage it, instead of the button, but gets the job done quickly and well. Cheers!

Eerrrr... does not work. Hit enter, recording starts... hit enter again, recording stops... great... where's my gif save to? oh that's right, it doesn't work...
Super intuitive, learned to use it right away, only takeoff is that the max quality is a bit lower than it could be, but otherwise this is a must-have if you use a Chromebook, or if you can't bother to get something like Snagit :p
Made a gif from a secetion of a Yt video on chrome. Works perfectly. Keep in mind increasing quality takes a while to create gif.

Amazing! The only bug I found is that there isn't any shortcut to start recording. When you need to zoom in or out a webpage, the control menu at the bottom can disappear. Many many thanks for this wonderful work.
I'm a teacher and during Covid 19 I am translating my classes to virtual/online and this has been a great tool.
Works great for capturing workout GIFS from YouTube for on-the-go viewing. Let's you select any size/portion of a page (in addition to selecting elements) and also let's you resize the window you've chosen, and lets you interact with the underlying page even after the box was drawn. Also has proportional resize built-in. Uses the browser to do all of the work, it is not a wrapper for an external webpage like a lot of extensions are, so it works offline. Threw the developer a $20 donation.
Doesn't work all pages. work on some but not all pages. I made my own html file with JS and i couldn't record it!
Cool extension. It requires payment for tweaking some of the options, so if you're looking to record a gif longer than 10 seconds, you'll need to purchase. If you'd like to show the mouse cursor in the recording you'll also need to upgrade. I've got nothing against this, seems reasonable to me. The one thing I do wish would be added is the ability to record across pages. Right now, you can only use this extension to record a gif image on a single page. This makes it not very useful for me :( Here's my use case: I'm a web developer who's building web applications and I'd like to record gif images of website functionality. For example, I'd like to record a gif of myself logging into an application. Right now, I can't do this, because if I start the recording on the hope page of my site (/), then navigate to the login page (/login), that causes the page URL to change, which ends up killing this extension half-way through the recording. I'm not sure if the Chrome APIs allow for it, but it would be a 10/10 if this could be modified in such a way that I could easily record gifs across pages.
Please allow the following features: 1. Setting the size of the frame in advance as to save the need to manually set the dimensions of the frame time and again. 2. Allow moving the frame. Once the dimensions are set, sometimes the position on the page needs some fine tuning.

Absolutely love the tool concept, especially how it auto-selects elements on the page and captures a targeted gif but unfortunately it's not accurately capturing the colors on my demo: https://liquidcarrot.io/example.flappy-bird/ which is using a dynamic canvas
That's a good tool, but the ENTER quitting the animation is SOOOOOOOO frustrating !! I had no idea how many times I hit enter on a web app until now and had to redo the capture all over ! Man please make that a setting...
Simple and works, very useful to capture a quick demo.
Works very well on my browser. It does slow it down when generating the gif but once the conversion is done, there are no issues. This is a really helpful tool thank you !
