Doesn't work. Bloody useless.
As others have said, this extension no longer works (as of early 2023). However, a working fork of the original is available at https://github.com/tsukumijima/typio-form-recovery-reboot/releases/tag/v3.3.0 (though you'll have to install it manually – it's not hosted on the Chrome Web Store). Others have suggested formalizr (available on the Chrome Web Store here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/formalizr/ceoiohgolheciaefomofjboicekphfmp), but apparently it has less functionality than the original. You can see several Reddit users' reviews of these alternatives here: https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/10kuzoq/any_alternative_to_typio_form_recovery/
I've ran into the issue of typing something long up and somehow losing it (hitting the back button in the browser for exampe.) It's really frustrating and annoying. So after that happened I installed this extension hoping to never struggle through that issue ever again. Fast forward 4 months later. I'm typing up a like 5 paragraph response and accidentally hit the back button on my mouse which made me lose all of that text I had typed. No big deal I figured, I installed that extension months back so this exact scenario wouldn't ever be a problem. Felt like a genius who outsmarted the computer as I strolled my mouse cursor up to the mountain tops that is the extensions icon in Google Chrome ready to open this extension in victory. Knowing I had accounted for this very scenario and had the galaxy brain to have my text sitting right there in the extension. To make it seem like it never happened. But this extension is a piece of garbage because when I opened up the dashboard, no text was there. This extension has one job and it can't do that one single thing correctly. It's impressive how bad of a piece of software this is actually. With one singular goal, it completely misses the mark and then some sad developer actually has to publish this complete waste of time onto Google's servers and stare into his disheveled reflection beaming off of his computer monitor knowing that this abomination is his life's work.
This is less about the fact that it no longer works and more about the fact that there have been so many times when my text was "unable to be recovered" because they couldn't be stored for some arbitrary reason. For instance, if I start a post on Twitter, it will save that post, but then refuse to store any of my replies to anyone else. It's so picky as to what it can and can't restore or save, I've given up and am uninstalled entirely, this has nothing to do with it not working with the latest Chrome update.
not working anymore in latest Vivaldi. looks like it's abandoned
Was wonderful, but broke with recent Chrome update. Will rate higher if it comes back soon, of course.
NOT WORKING ANYMORE AT ALL ! Can the coders help ? I still vote 5 stars because this extension has been the best for so many years ! Thanks again ! UPDATE: I have now installed Formalizr and it seems to work. PLEASE REPLY TO MY COMMENT IF Formalizr is good for you or not ?
It worked pretty well, but has completely stopped working recently
This was pretty useful back when I first got it, but now it's just completely stopped working. Guess I'm off to find a different one... :(
This was getting buggier and buggier over the last couple of years, but it not no longer works at all on 90% of the pages I've tried it on.
This extension is a life saver but no longer works Does anyone have an alternative or will this app get back to working again?
Use to be superb. But suddenly it just stopped working completely. There is no little icon appearing on the forms.
It was very useful few months ago. But now it stopped working completely. I can't find any web form where this extension still works.
I'm working on trying to reboot it here since it's been a while since the last update: https://github.com/ctsstc/typio-form-recovery-reboot Note: It's working, but there's still tons of errors that need to be fixed, and likely broken functionality. Ultimately too some relaunch needs to happen like a new logo, name, release. It's been a busy week so I haven't been able to indulge into it like I would like to. Chrome removed some functionality that this extension was using in the January 109 release. I've handled that deprecation, but I also couldn't build it since so many dependencies were outdated and had vulnerabilities. I've updated most of it, but the frontend UI seems to be broken and I'm not too used to Vue. I also had to migrate the extension manifest from v2 to v3 since that was also deprecated this January. If anyone else would like to give a hand helping fix it, it would be much appreciated. At some point I guess we'll need to re-release the extension, but that won't be until it's in a better working order.
stopped working just like that - always empty.
@Cody Swartz: 5 star remaining, 'cos I love and NEED this extension... But for the same reason: pleeeease get it back on feet ASAP!!! Broken in (by?) latest Chrome, hoping to be fixed soon!
This used to work perfectly. Now the icon will never show up even though all configurations are set properly. Nothing is ever saved to the form directory at all. There's no Chrome setting that is blocking the app from working. What really is annoying is the fact I have to leave a review in order to request technical help because when you try to open a ticket it brings you to something called BitBucket. Tried to create a new account, said account already existed. Tried to log in and then just brought me to a "FORBIDDEN" blank page and to contact yet some other support team. SO much more difficult than it needs to be.
Unfortunately doesn't work anymore, real shame, I've tried everything to get it work again, but to no avail.
Causes an error (visible in the devtools console) on every website on every mouse click or any other action. The error is: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '0') at Array.<anonymous> (content.js:7:89199) at c.trigger (content.js:7:81786) at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (content.js:7:81253)
No longer works.
Anyone know if there is any word from the developer?
One of the most important apps, but no longer working.
Typio is great! But I seems that the extension stopped working after one of Chrome updates. We´d love to have an update and keep using it.
This tool completely stopped working about a week ago... It used to be great though. I only writing this because I cannot find any other way to contact the creator (his website goes to some BS when you need an account or something). According to the following thread, it stopped working at least 6 days ago : https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/10kuzoq/any_alternative_to_typio_form_recovery/ It's definitely because of a recent Chrome update or something. Probably not something that would require a lot of work to fix, but this isn't open source AFAIK and might have been abandoned :(
Anyone try Formalizr, possibly a bandage until Typio is repaired.
Doesn't work
This extension was working great, but it makes use of "Event.path" values which are no longer available in recent chrome releases. Unless the dev updates this to use "Event.composedPath()" instead, this extension isn't really usable on current chrome versions.
No longer works in the latest Chrome.
Loved it, but no longer working after last Chrome update (Jan 2023)
This was an amazing extension while it worked. It saved me more than once. Since some Chrome versions ago it just stopped working and the devs are totally unresponsive to the issue. It is really a pity but I am in the process to looking for a replacement. Thanks while it lasted.
I adore this app, it has saved me so many lost text fields as I give feedback to students. I'm very sad to see that it no longer works as of Chromes latest update. Hope it gets patched!
Loved it, but unfortunately it stopped working. For those looking for an alternative, check out the "Autofill" extension. It actually works even better in some ways!
it stopped working when I really needed it :(
This used to be a life saver, it is no longer working.
It does not work anymore since the last chrome update. The developer does not update it since 2020.
I would give it five stars if it hadn't stopped working recently. It hasn't worked since January 13th and I'm just... I need this in my life!
My auto save option is not visible i m unable to see any option to select the auto save Id or test. It is not working for me. Kindly help.
HOW IS THIS NOT 5 STARS, ITS SAVED MY BUTT MULTIPLE TIMES, THANK YOU WHOEVER MADE THIS I WANT TO KISS YOU!
Excellent extension, been using it for years. Thanks!
This used to work brilliantly, but it seems to have stopped working for me in the last year or so and only displays fragments of the text that was previously typed.
Thank you
I installed this ap so WHERE IN THE HELL IS IT ON MY COMPUTER OR CHROME. I SEE NOTHING!!!!!!!!!
Facebook has a nasty habit of deleting posts while writing them as part of their censorship policy. I got fed up of losing lengthy posts halfway through writing them, so this extension was a real life saver. However, last week I noticed it had disabled itself somehow, so I had to turn it back on?
A solid text recovery add-on, but it slows down browser when using text editor space and lots of text is typed to the point that I had to disable it.
Genuinely used to be one of my favourite apps, I began supporting it when Lazarus was taken offline. However, recently, while I am in the discord (on web, not desktop app) Typio has stopped recording my text several times, two of which meant i lost a large amount of text because of this. This is a new problem, and if it's fixed, I'll re-rate it 5 stars, but with the two important posts I lost on my discord, I can't in good conscience give this five stars.
Works great for my use case! Though I recommend denying it access to all websites and domains, and instead right-clicking on the extension and grant it access on a domain by domain basis. Though I still trust it overall. I actually really like that it hasn't been updated since 2020. If it's updated again I want to see the release notes...but the developer sound trustworthy. Many thanks!
Worthless. Doesn't save squat. Irritating interface. Impossible to see the list of saved entries. Regularly says "Cannot be automatically restored"
doesn't work
Lifesaver. It had issues with not saving all entries way back when, but I haven't run into those in recent times at all. Every time I've needed to recover something, it's been there for me to do just that.
Used to love it, then it stopped working on tumblr. After the death of Lazarus, tumblr was the sole reason I tried this extension in the first place.
In which "folder" is the text stored in the extension typio? Is in windows or in the cloud? Is it possible to see all typed texts in one place?
Doesn't work with Microsoft Dynamics, I suspect because the fields are dynamic and it can't figure that part out. I would much prefer if the addon would just save all the text you have written.
Instead of restoring the whole form it only restores the last entered field :(
realised one day i've been taking this for granted. insanely good.
Love it, lifesaver every time!
Lately, it hasn't been recovering anything. Or if it has, I have to go into the pop out window and search for the data.
I simply love this extension. Can't imagine how I lived without it - in a constant fear of losing text I spent sometimes several hours on. Thank you for making me worry-free :)
awesome!
Thank you! great
It doesn't work. I lost a form so I downloaded this to prevent losing it again and it won't save the form when I'm filling it out. I tested it a couple times by closing and reopening the form and it doesn't restore the answers.
Life would be so much worse without this tool! :)
Drastically slows down your browser. I did the Speedometer test (many times) at the browserbench website and turned off each extension until I found that Typio was the culprit that was slowing down everything. Went from 155 on Edge to 20 to 40 max with it enabled. 20 to 30 vs 130 for Google Chrome. I depend on this extension (which I love) and am hoping a dev will get back to me on how to nullify this issue.
Worked pretty well until the latest update, now effectively useless
Cool, just what I wanted! Thanks bro!
Fantasic app! If this didn't exist I would have had to write it myself. I think I almost use this subconciously and think it's part of Chrome sometimes :)
Rubbish. Most of the time is does not work and does not even allow you to copy/paste. I miss Lazarus so much.
Don't use this on Facebook! When I try to do form recovery for a lost Facebook post, I can't edit any of the recovered text. Can't add more, can't delete anything, can't copy anything or paste anything into the form.
Doesn't work on all sites, making me accidentally lose my quite long writing.
Can really be very helpful when it works, but it doesn't always save everything, so don't rely on it too much.
Saved my life
Absolutely brilliant. Even works on content-editable boxes like Youtube comments, even if you have to go into the larger form recover dialog box and copy+paste rather than easily recovering into the field itself. It's so easy to lose in-progress comments on some websites like Youtube, and most other form recovery tools don't work there.
So far I love it.
Did not work with Salesforce at work - that was the only reason I installed it.
Me and Typio Form Recovery and me are great friends we go way back. I highly recommend you too party with this extension to see for yourself!! ;]
This doesn't work for a form I had filled out before installing the extension, does it. Well I'll be using it from now on at least...
This is an amazingly useful tool for anyone that needs it. Just one thing... there doesn't seem to be any option to "nuke all data". The limit on the number of days text input is stored is great, but in the very rare case you want to clear out all backed up text input, there is no option to do so.
This just saved my bacon after I accidentally closed a tab I'd written a whole bunch of text into. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Love it. Easy to use, doesn't get in the way, clear and simple to understand. What a great tool. Thank you again!
THE WORST EXTENSION EVER!!! YOU CLICK TO RECOVER YOUR TYPED TEXT AND NOTHING HAPPENS AND THEN AFTER YOU TYPE ABOUT 3 OR 4 MORE TIMES THE PREVIOUS TYPED CLIPS ERASE BECAUSE IT ONLY HOLD 3 THINGS THAT YOU PREVIOUSLY TYPED! A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXTENSION!! F-------------
My problem with Typio is it should only recover the field that currently has the focus and not all of the fields on the page, unless specified. Here's what I take issue with. Current implementation of recoverying input fields does not allow for manual changes because once you have typio recover the other fields, typio replaces your manual edits with the older recovery data entered and stored previously. Also, typio should allow for editing the saved data in the recovery dialogue manager with the ability to include or exclude other fields or delete only select entries while maintaining others.the extension is far too simplistic and usability suffers. Lazarus did all this perfectly. Why is it so difficult to find and adequate replacement, haven't we all waited long enough.
Typio has saved my butt on multiple occasions (mostly because I'm an ADHD dumbass who often tries to copy-paste too many things at once before remembering there's a limit to these things...)! I wish it had a regular desktop application because I often switch back and forth from MS Word to internet with things I want to put both places, but I often forget and erase/delete things in either before remembering something I forgot, and then...the info is gone/not available, and I have to attempt to rewrite from scratch. It sucks! Hopefully someday! But for now, Typio is a godsend and JUST what I needed/was looking for! I love you, devs! You're the best!
Saved me quite a few times - simple data entries, short essays, comments online. My text has survived web page crashes, my own user errors, and internet connection drops. Very easy to use. I have it set to activate & offer to restore if I double click a text box, rather than having the watermark icon showing when you hover over a textbox. This was an easy toggle in the settings. You can set it to ignore password boxes and credit card numbers, and the site blacklist (my banking sites, etc) was also easy to set up. Very satisfied. I used (the ironically now-deceased) Lazarus for years and this is an improvement.
Used to work really well and was absolutely helpful in cases when I accidentally closed a page or something crashed and I could recover inputted text. However recently it is very laggy to load the recovery list, and the popup history manager just doesn't work, as in I can't scroll through entries and can't search. Selecting an entry in the recovery list freezes up the tab for several seconds. Perhaps it isn't clearing out very old data and the database is getting too large, don't know how to check this.
Absolute life-saver. Would have lost form data several times without it. Very easy to use -- just go back to a website if you accidentally reload, hit the back button, click a link, etc., and you can fill in the data just like you had it previously.
As someone who does a lot of typing on Tumblr, Goodreads, reddit, and other sites that have usually lengthy text, I can't tell you have much of a safe feeling I have when I type now...too many times have I lost paragraphs of work if my computer crashes, or Chrome freezes up, or if I just accidently highlight everything and tap a key, erasing it all...There were many many times when I was half way through a nice long juicy review or blog post, and I lose the work, and it disheartens me so much that I just give up and don't bother retyping it... So yes... the comfy feeling of safety that this app gives you is almost a MUST have for all people who type a lot, any writers, editors, reviewers etc.. do you yourself a favorite... download...please. We all want to read what you have to say.
Excellent - saved me on many occasions, would not be without it.
Doesn't save frequently enough. I just lost a half hour's worth of text and the most recent save I could go back to was one hour :-/
Here I was hoping that this would finally be the alternative to Lazarus, but man was I proven wrong. Just when I needed it, it wouldn't restore the text it shows it has, to the proper text boxes. I click the text I want to restore from the context menu, nothing restores, only some other outdated or non-relevant text is allowed to be restored. What an unreliable disappointment. I dig further into the extension and it shows that the text I want to restore "Can not be auto restored" for some unknown reason. Fortunately though, it still saved the text, just not fast and convenient like Lazarus when it comes to restoring the text; have to open its dialog > find the text I want > copy that text > close its dialog > and paste the text where it's meant to be, repeat for the number of entries in the form. Back to using a hacked version of Lazarus.
Excellent app-saves all your entries, very handy on Google search if you want to look up things you searched before. Much better than similar ones I've used on Firefox and it remembers posts for particular sites.
BEST
Just an anecdote, but let's see if others experience the same. I recently had an experience where Typio appeared to stop backing up fields without me noticing. We use a crappy ticket system called "JIRA Service Desk" that has a weird tendency to reload the page while you're typing large comments on tickets (especially when updating attachments etc.). Typio has often helped me recovering from those situations, but today it happened again and Typio wouldn't open the "recovery" dialog. I tried opening a new tab, new window, etc. Typio "settings" would pop up, but the "Open Recovery" link did nothing, whether used from the icon or by right-clicking a field. I tried restarting chrome and Typio started responding again (the "open recovery" dialog started showing up again) by my last available recovery available was from early yesterday. It seems it had been somehow inactive or hung for a while. I tested a few text fields and it started storing them again, but for now, I'm tentative as to whether this extension always has my back. I'm working with the developer now to see if we can reproduce and solve the issue.
Works great for me, had no issues so far.
Love this extension. Nice work guys
Very useful at critical times!, Thank you.
It's horrible. The buttons. It never saves the text I need again. Not reliable. AT ALL. I miss Lazarus. Now there's only this piece of * .
It's November 8th, and Chrome just crashed. When I restarted it, this extension had lost all saved entries until October 18th. That's almost a month of entries lost (and, most critically, the long entry I had been writing before Chrome crashed) are now gone, from an app whose very purpose is to backup that kind of data. When the app works it works well, but who wants to use a backup system that only works some of the time?
This is very unreliable, especially when multiple tabs are involved. I had a GameFAQs tab where I had text typed up, then closed it, came back to it and was able to see the data I had typed. Then I closed the window and reopened it to save some memory and then navigated back to the page. Typio didn't have any of the text. Like this is so unreliable that I'm arguably better off just doing this the old fashioned way and being paranoid. Because this sure as hell doesn't work right at a probability enough to basically match my memory.
I had to find an alternative when Lazarus left the Chrome store. This option is inconsistent! I just lost multiple paragraphs that I needed desperately with no way to search farther back. Very disappointed and frustrated.
i was Searching for something like this for yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears Love it too muccccch thaaaaanks
Reliable, though the keyboard shortcuts get in the way. They can be turned off easily in the options menu, however, so there's no real complaints. I would rather have that option than not.
Bring back Lazarus. This is not as good. Very sad.
More trouble than it's worth.
Holy cow, it worked with a radio-button-only form when I need it more! Has some like bugs where a popup from the extension appears but that is minor.
Absolute must have.
Being forced to replace the always helpful Lazarus ext., I was pretty excited for this. It look good visually, seems well build. But it is not consistent. It has worked in testing but randomly fails in actual use. At times when I really need it.
Awesome, worked fine
Doesn't actually work for me. E.g. "Open Recovery" doesn't do anything. And it does nothing when I try to recover actual text. The only time I've ever seen it do anything is when I accidentally type Alt+Backspace somewhere and it pops up a dialog box. I don't know why Alt+Backspace doesn't work when I actually need it, though. I used to use the Lazarus extension, and this unfortunately cannot replace it.
Typio always works for me although the little icon on the right can be intrusive. I configure the app to only display my choices for recovery when I double click the field, which pretty much solves that issue.
it is helpful
good working just for 1 weak when i clean data base stop working
This form cost me $4000 because it obscures the most needed area of the form input with its overlay. I entered a price for a live auction domain and thought I entered one price ($890) when I actually entered another price ($8908). The developer could put the form overlay anywhere else, either on the left side of the input box or somewhere just adjacent to it, but no, he put it obscuring just where you are writing: the right side of the box.
Very promising plugin but there are too many forms that are not caught by this and too many times the data I used to have on some forms disappear.
Thank you so much for this tool. I wish there were more like it, but I am indescribably grateful for at least one that is at all functional, particularly on sites where I tend to write paragraphs of text in one box like facebook. This just saved me by recovering a three paragraph passionate response to an article I posted that I had been editing when my laptop threw a BSOD. I already expected that Lazarus wouldn't work, and feared the worst because my network adapters disappeared and I had to troubleshoot any number of things that surely made it useless to try and recover the cache from before the crash. I managed to fix the network access and went to see if anything was saved and I found what was looking for with this. It isn't perfect, though. I did have to go back through it to clean up the tags it shows in the text, and sometimes it hasn't saved everything in the past (probably when I have more than one tab of the same page open), but having something to clean up before posting was a far better option to having to write a new post from a clean slate. With the efforts that can sometimes go into selecting just the right words said in just the right order to drive home a point with real impact, this functionality is critical enough that I would buy it for every application/platform I use , even those that I don't use often. It is horrible when I forget that my smartphone browser is not protected this way and I lose an hour of thumbtyped thoughts to the ether thank to a call, accidental button push or dodgy touchscreen accuracy. Reliable text recovery is my lifeline and saving grace from heartbreak or mental meltdown when something goes wrong. So glad at least one of the three tools I had installed for this worked today. It lightened my heavy dread to find those words I had written still there.
Awesome replacement for my old extension, thank you!
Such a great tool! Easy to use, really useful and seems to work in every different kind of text input where other form recovery add-ons do not!
Seemingly the only working text recovery extension for Chrome. Lazarus and TIRE both had usability issues or were broken entirely. Typio actually works, and arguably handles the database better (separate for each site instead of a giant database). Much easier to use UI as well. If only browsers actually had this functionality integrated into them. Baffles me as to why they don't after all these years. Losing an entire form you typed is a terrible, terrible feeling. Edit: Knocking down 2 stars as I discovered a few issues. 1) When you delete saved entries, it doesn't delete what you selected, instead it deletes something else and still lists a few of the entries you deleted. 2) It sometimes doesn't recover some text. I don't know what triggers this, but I went to recover something and it refused to recover, just leaving a blank box. Checking my saved history, I couldn't recover the latest paragraph of stuff I typed, only messages before it. I was forced to re-type it all as the message preview is very short. This seems to be linked with the deletion issue, as the unrecoverable data got deleted when I removed other stuff. Not sure if this is due to the latest version or if the issues existed before, but these issues are quite bad.
I hate the fact that my texts are truncated. we need to recover every word in the text. no point in using the extension if what it can recover is only partial. i hope its fixed soon.
A very good replacement for Lazarus: Form Recovery. I don't like a couple of things, though. The detailed feedback can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/nicklassandell/chrome-form-recovery/issues/15/some-general-feedback P.S. Does anybody know any other alternatives? Edit (25.03.2018): Now it's better than ever!
I used Lazarus since it first came out as beta. Loved it. Just added this extension. Wanted to check out options before first use. Options are in long form, scrolling disabled. Even zooming out doesn't allow enough room to see it all. There's more than enough room to fit it all full width, but they are apparently partial to ticker-tape. Tried to use the bug form, only they don't have one of their own, so it requires a new login elsewhere. Can you spell UNPROFESSIONAL? If it can't be used for the FIRST time without hitting a wall, WHAT USE IS IT? I'm contacting the dev here, and will update when I get an answer, but it's not looking very promising.
Great extension, but I can't use the menu (context menu especially) - as it won't scroll down or go to target.
Been using this for a month, and have found this to be extremely productive. Works as advertised! I hardly use any of the latest v1.8 features, but it's great to know that the extension is being actively developed by a responsive developer. Cheers!
I downloaded this app to replace my previous form recovery app which is no longer available. Unfortunately, this one is more difficult to use and frequently fails to actually recover my text. Or it only recovers part of it, or the wrong thing entirely.
Very useful, great job! There is one thing i would add. A longer preview for the text when we click "recover this field". I often have multiple text clips that begin with similar words and it's impossible to know which one to pick.
Typed in a form field, submitted. Can't get it back.
Outstanding.
Very useful extension - there was problem with certain form not being recognized but creator updated extension on the same day I posted the issue - where else do you find such great support? Absolutely 5 stars!
I really can't be using this extension if it remaps standard controls (alt+del on mac means delete the whole word after caret).
please let me change the keybinding. ctrl-del also deletes the last word :-/
TYPIO is your own personal "autosave" feature for any website form you are filling out. It is a life-saver for those of us who use website wysiwig editors (forms) to create content on websites (like message boards). Typically these forms on sites do not have "autosave "built into them. It is frustrating to fill out a long website form with content and then have it disappear because of a user, PC, browser, or site glitch.
It was good before. Now it's fantastic. Thanks!
This extension has saved my sanity a few times when filling out large academic applications on archaic web sites that turf you out after a certain period of time. It has worked every time I've needed it. And being an open source project would net it a couple more stars if I could give them. Thank you for creating it!
Works great. Seems to be less buggy than Lazarus.
Simply does not work.
Before my actual review, I just wanna mention that I don't get why everyone is saying Lazarus is defunct, it hasn't been updated in a long time but it still works for me, been using it for years. I have a different reason why I am replacing Lazarus. Typio essentially functions the same as Lazarus, it saves and recalls the last entry written on the form of a page you were working on before it was closed and offers you several options if you have other versions of the text that you were writing. The only difference is that Typio is newer and still lacks some features that Lazarus had, like encryptions and passwords. The navigation of Typio is also different from Lazarus, the latter has a button that appears on the top right corner of forms while the former utilizes options found in the right-click context menu. One of the reasons why Lazarus wasn't perfect for me was because of that button, it sometimes ends up being hidden by other buttons possibly appearing in the top right corner which renders it unclickable, useless. Context menu is superior in my opinion, but if it was up to me, also having an icon like what Lazarus had would be good to have aside from just the context menu option, so you know the program is there and running. Typio was last updated back in Dec 2016, I hope it gets regular updates when needed and gains more features in the future, unlike with Lazarus which had apparently stopped working for some users and was never updated again. I'd love it if there was a page that lists all of the forms the extension has saved and which pages they appear on. There are just no other good form recovery extensions out there. I hope Typio continues to be a good form recovery tool. 5 stars for functioning as it promises.
Just saved me! I tried Lazarus for a while but it's buggy. Only thing I wish is that when you click on the extension there should be a button to recover a form on the current page, rather than having to right click a form field. It took me a while to find it.
I realize this extension is still in its infancy, but its already filling a huge hole left by the demise of Lazarus. I feel this is already working better than Lazarus because Lazarus was often getting in the way of filling in form fields. It was taking up too much room on the righthand side of the fields, and it also competed with my password manager for mouse clicks. But Lazarus has "saved my bacon" on numerous occasions. I often write some lengthy posts on forums, and due to one reason or another have lost everything I wrote many, many times. Lazarus (so aptly named!) resurrected those posts in their entirety. Now Typio is doing the same thing in a different way, by utilizing the right-click menu. In this way, it doesn't interfere with filling in the form fields in the first place. Most people don't seem to realize how valuable such an extension is because they don't even realize there is something out there that will do what it does. I haven't yet tested Typio in a robust way, but so far it is working for me. I would still like to see a couple of features that Lazarus offered: encryption of the saved data and password protection for it. I don't know how robust Lazarus's security was in reality, but I feel like this would offer some protection for my noms de guerre. This extension, fully implemented, would be so valuable to me that, yes, I would actually be willing to pay for it. In fact, I would gladly pay a reasonable subscription fee to the author in order to keep it available and properly maintained. I also believe others would pay, too, if they could be helped to understand just how powerful the concept is.
Seems to work really well so far. Suitable replacement for the now defunct Lazarus Form Recovery. Would like to see encryption built-in but at least it's off to a good start by only storing the data locally so you could feasibly encrypt the data via your operating system or file system.
Jesus Christ, it works really well. Also the options are well thought Thank you!!
