Great extension. The only minor "fault" is the pre-set placement of the toolbar itself. Old Firefox had a similar extension (with less features, if I recall) that would pop-up a button near the mouse cursor after hovering the image for a few milliseconds, which I think prevented some issues regarding the button/toolbar itself being hidden depending on where the image is, besides being always inherently closer. It worth noting that it conflicts somewhat with the "CurlWget" extension. If cliget is active, then all images will default to the root of the Download directory, ignoring the subdirectory settings of Image-Toolbar itself.
5 stars even though lacks the ability to copy the image to clipboard facebook.com/peter7x
95% of the reviews of this extension currently displayed in the Chrome webstore are reviews of a product as it existed many years ago - they have little to nothing to do with the extension as it exists today. I have found this extension to be very reliable and quite easy to use. At this point, I have tried this extension on well over 5,000 independent websites and it has failed me on only a handful of occasions. A fully-fledged options page for this extension is accessible by clicking on its toolbar icon. Reviews with less than satisfactory ratings should auto-delete after: (1) a certain timeframe has elapsed; or (2) the extension has undergone a significant revamping and an updated version is available.
Great extension, works like a charm. Recently i reinstalled browser and the extension somehow prompts for save location although i have disabled it in options. Any idea?
It provides me the same one-click convenience like the Image Toolbar in Firefox. Now if only it worked on Instagram and Facebook.
the addon is pretty good, but it suffers from the lack of ability to disable default download folder and save anywhere, with remembering the last used folder like regular save as would do. i do my image sorting on the fly, saving images to specific folders all the time, so not being able to do this here is a hindrance, especially when saving multiple images from the same category.
i save to a external hard drive and its default is downloads
Very Nice and perfect. I Love it. Thanks a lot.
Works great, the default settings is really odd but thankfully there is a lot of options to customize it.
Extremely nice add on thanks a lot very useful
The defaults are a bit odd (first option is to save cat pics?) but after I trimmed down the toolbar and realized how the global toggle buttons works I like it a lot. I originally got this because I missed firefox's ability to view images but this is better. It defeats instagram's image hiding bit of javascript which is reason alone to give it five stars, I was about ready to write my own extension just for that!
Awful - can't uninstall. I uninstall it every day, but every other day on running chrome it's installed again.
Could you make it save the actual file name rather than the webpage name? When I save I can get a lot of %20 stuff in the filename. If I just right click and save it names it correctly. ALso it prevents me from enlarging pictures on the auction site trademe.co.nz by clicking on the auction image, please fix.
Never worked on my Mac
nice
this doesnt SAVE but download images again... Waste
Great when it works but doesn't work on all images and hasn't been updated in a while
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH
Somehow keeps force installing on my browser. At very random times too. Hoping to find out what's causing it.
It seems to work well for me, it's working where the other download extensions I have can't work. But I do notice some situations where it doesn't work, but not an issue for me yet. I am sad to see the support page is down. I have some feature request and suggestions. But no where to send them haha. There definitely needs to be an options page soon.
Icon does not always appear on images, even ones larger than 150x150p . No way to set default directory for saved images.
try to save image from cache not re-downloading it. by mimicking right click on image save to..
I have been waiting for this for ages!! I too made the switch from FF. Problem I am having is that it saves the files in .com format. Any idea whats wrong? I think it is based on website. I tried other sites and it may work. It's hit and miss.
Unfortunately it did not work out, the websites that this extension works on are quite limited, I tried to hover mouse over in Gmail and facebook, both didn't work. The only success I had was in google image search or wikipedia
like
Please make it work on floating page elements such as Twitpic
Like it, not as much as like the one for Mozillas family — but it's better than nothing ;)
Pretty good. I would like options to change the minimum image resoultion for which the download button appears. Because of the current size this does not work well with 4chan threads which I was hoping it would.
please let us save linked images. it seems that linked images does not show the save button unless we open that linked image on new tab
I love this extension, but it doesn't always show the button.
I love this extension, thank you. If there's anything I would like to see added, it is the ability to give a default save to place other than using the settings placed in chrome.
I've been waiting for this for a long time. Image toolbar was one of the last Firefox add-ons I can't live without that had no equivalent on Chrome. This could be the final nail in Firefox's coffin for me.
If the image is surrounded by a hyperlink linking to another image, the toolbar should display a selection of either's name.
Should be able to specify the target directory for saves.
finally!!!!! thank you! this was the one addon that kept me using Firefox. now i can finally transfer to chrome. i'm a graphic designer and i own also a shop, i save a lot of images per day and i hate all those unnecessary click to save an image. what i would like the most in the next update is an option to automatically save images to a predefined folder, that means you save image with one click only. that would be absolutely fantastic! looking forward for updated.
So glad an addon like this is available for Chrome now! Like the other reviewers, I would like an option to select the download folder. Here are two other suggestions/requests: - A button to zoom the image to fill the window, either smaller or bigger (and toggle back to original size when clicked again) - A button that opens a dropdown list of several customizable "favorite" folders that you can save the image to with one click If you could add either or both of these options, it would make this extension incredibly useful and one-of-a-kind. I would gladly donate to make that happen. Thanks!!
Been looking this for a year !! Nice and yes, please add default folder like in firefox
Nice idea - it's something I've used in FF and was looking for on Chrome. Sadly, I'm afraid it's not working for me on most sites.
Wow, I've been looking for something like this for ages!!! But I have just one small request: please add the option to choose the default folder to download to. And, thank you for this wonderful extension!
