THANK YOU! I've been looking forever to find a new tab customizer that doesn't push Bing as the search engine or Wayfair or some other junk; this one is super simple, and I LOVE all the customization.

This is the easiest customization tab decor ive ever used. Its simple and very pretty to look at.

Loving how this looks! My only issue is that when I refresh the page or open a new tab, the wallpaper I have set is completely removed and changes to a pattern instead.

This is the best new tab extension I had, i'm glad I found this extension. it's just simple, and good, with a clock, date, and weather forecast

I've used many new tab pages in Chrome and this one is the best. I love the clean design, Message feature, Weather feature, and the fact that it auto-syncs to other browser installs. It is fantastic.

Is good when it works. So many issues. Freezes up my PC, slow loading, and now i cant when i click on favorite links or search, nothing happens. Still needs some work

Hi, Before coming to the problem I am facing, I have to say I have been using this Extension for around 3 months and it have been amazing so far. So everything was working perfectly but since the recent update (3.8.0), Sometimes opening "New Tab", My white BG turns to black and I have to refresh the tab to get all theming back right. I just started facing this issue after this update. I hope it will be fixed. Thanks for the great work.

How often does the weather numbers refresh? Mine seems to be stuck until I reload the tab.

Good extension. There should be a way you can show News by scrolling down, and also a way to change the tab Icon.

The new changes and "Premium" users is a great idea and I enjoy the new settings layout

Love this browser tab replacement! Fully customizable, with accurate local weather, many backround and accent color options, and can even add your own pics, and the ability to add short quotes for motivation. Works with multiple browsers. The best tab replacement I have used!

Its a great extension for Chrome and other browsers! But there's a problem for me I use the Brave browser but there no option for making the search engine Brave.

Overall great extension! i love the way you can customize your home page! I would definitely recommend this! but one small issue, i don't know if everyone has a problem with this but every time time i'm trying to add favicons they just doesn't show up! i tried everything but it never works! can you please fix it?

This really is a great app. I was looking around for a weather clock for Raspberry Pi and my small low powered monitor that I have on the wall. Couldn't find anything until I thought "maybe a Chrome app?". This does everything I want it to and more. It's very customisable so you can let your obsessions go wild. I have gone for retro green and black, however I may create a background some time. One question I have is, I use Infinity Pro for my useful bookmarks and I as both take over the new tab function I can't have both running. I'm not sure why this app needs to take over the new tab page when you only really need one instance. Is there a way I can use Infinity Pro on new tab pages and one instance of CaretTab?

No other new tab extension even comes close to this one. Smooth and never-ending customizations. Import/export function is AMAZING. Beautifully done. Is there a place I can donate to support this work?

the only problem i have is load time i should wait to it loads my new tab if you can somehow lower that time this extension is recommended for everyone thanks for clean look and advance setting

I love how you can use your own fonts to design your own, but it would be better if you can use a different font for your clock, weather, etc. Also, it would be helpful if there's an option to automatically sort the quick links alphabetically and maybe change the favicons of it as well. However, it does not work on opera browser.

Exactly what I was looking for. Simple, clean way to make the perfect home custom new tab screen.

Very neat. I think I finally found my New Tab extension to use forever. But I do hope they add more features over time. Like the weather widget can have customizable icon position for today's weather. And it would also be really helpful to have some text read out the weather, like "cloudy" or "light rain".

Latest update broke my configuration and I had to set it up all over again. I hope I won't have to go through that again but, still, this extension is awesome.

This is really handy, if you rename a GIF to PNG you can set custom animated backgrounds

This is an exceptional new tab, highly customizable to your parameters. 15/10 would always recommend to anyone. Honestly, this is a must-have.

I absolutely love the customizations that you can use with this extension! Just a suggestion, I would love it if you added "Import/export" options for the settings. If I installed this in another browser, it would be really helpful so I wouldn't have to start all over.

I was looking for the best custom tab extensions and in the process went through 4-5 custom tabs which was not that good. This one is simple yet unique and amazing. I would recommend it to anybody

Great extension - very clean and does everything I need it to do Only caveat is when using this with edge, the browser will warn you about the extension whenever you open the browser and it will also sometimes disable the extension

I love this extension, There is so much customization involved! One thing that could change is the weird white bar at the top of the screen. But, other than that, great job. I also loved the message ability, so you can write a reminder for something or even just writing something motivating to help get through the month, week, or day!

Best extension to use for your homepage, a necessity. I've tried numerous ones similar to CaretTab, nothing compares to it. If you discover an issue email the developer, John Hancock. He is responsive, gets back to you quickly and fixes the issue. Great customer service!

Why do you sometimes reset everything without my order? I cannot add bookmarks again.

For some reason it doesn't save my changes for the background changes to a random white picture other than that i love it!

Clean background, but there's no way to disable the background when you no longer want it.

It's great! But can we please be able to change the custom message text's color? I have a dark bg and when i use HTML to create links with the custom message widget, I just can't style the link to be anything other than purple. Or even better, maybe let us move the quick links?

I am new to this. There is absolutely no place to get help getting started. No tutorials that I can find. Waste of time for all of us that aren't already familiar with it. Going to have to uninstall and find something else with better guidance.

It's an amazing and must have tool. The only thing missing is the weather updates.

Beautiful new tab page and very useful - sometimes I just open Chrome to sit with CaretTab open. Would be 5 stars if you could sync and/or export/import settings - I have two Chrome profiles I use on two computers so being able to sync over each Chrome profile and export from one to the other would be ideal.

Developer just deletes settings without any option to not have them deleted because he decided to rewrite the extension, won't use again.

Was perfect until they changed it. Time and date used to display in the tab, but they removed that. You were also able to do bookmarks that were separate from the ones in your bookmarks bar. They ruined that as well.

Awesome extension. Works great except the clocks do not save in Google Chrome Version 85.0.4183.83.

Have you ever thought the users who were using the Beta version until now? I got the message to switch to the <stable> public version since Beta was ended...and of course when I did there was an option to only import quick links from v2 of the extension and not from the Beta. There is no reason for me to use your extension any more...and I would not recommend to anyone. 1 year of collecting URLs has just been reduced to 1 star for you.

It is very good however i would like them too add some more customization on the wallpaper you can add your own but i want to be able to choose like were to have it and how zoomed in or out it is. besides that it is basically fully customization with custom colors and even textures. also i wish you could have more freedom with the placement of things. all around really good though

Thanks for good work! In new Setting>>Extra>>Language, it says '日本人' for Japanese language, but '日本人' means Japanese people. For Japanese language, please use '日本語'.

Love the update, however for the new tab title, I suggest a custom date and time format. The date and time is too long in the tab title, and I want to use a shorter format. Also, I want to change the short date format to DD/MM/YYYY, instead of MM/DD/YYYY. Thanks for this amazing extension!

Why these new permissions? - Read a list of your most frequently visited websites - Read and change your bookmarks I can't imagine why I would want that in a tab replacement addon. Uninstalled for now although I've been a long-time user. :(

Second to none. The only new tab experience that is not aesthetically offensive, as far as this user is concerned (and he has tried a couple of baker's dozens). Has always been. Now, after the makeover - more than ever. God bless.

The update removes all your previous settings and links. I have used this extension for a while, why he decided to do a scorched earth update boggles my mind.

CaretTab is one of my al-time-favorite Chrome plugins. The main feature I like is the ability to display the date on the text of an "empty" new tab. The benefit of having the date visible this way is that it makes it super easy to include the current date/time in a screenshot of your browser window.

Wow, the latest update is really great! Loads of customisations with all sorts of settings, background picture with filters. Now, the only thing I would suggest is to save/load customised settings as a file. Otherwise, cross device setup would be an issue for some nerds. :-)

(AUGUST 2020 UPDATE) This new update is incredible! It's very nice and I'm glad it's still being updated! Overall, the tab is amazing and I use it a lot.

We learn more from bad than good so this review won't cover all the new good things. -- Used to require no permissions! -- Now requires as many as all the other new tab extensions! -- The update wipes all my settings and CaretTab URL links! -- The right-pane settings UI is now tiny on (sucks on large scale monitors) -- WORST OF ALL ... the CaretTab settings are on a white background! I selected a dark theme and yet the CaretTab settings are still white which is BLINDING when everything else is on my monitor is dark themed. ... How was this released this way when CaretTab before did not do this?

This is absolutely amazing. Manages to strike the perfect balance between customizable and not-overwhelming. With the new update, this is even more true. It offers a custom font and custom background. But only if you want. You can also choose from their nice pre-selected combinations. I wonder if it is possible to also add the Islamic calendar? Regardless, I just highly, highly recommend this! Thank you creators!

Thank you for all the work you've done. This extension really helps me with time and timezones (my work has me communicating with people in different parts of the world), but after your recent update, I was hoping that we'd be able to adjust the margins of the message. I know we can adjust the offset vertically, but it would be great if we could also adjust the left and right margins. My "message" is a quote that is long enough that it goes edge-to-edge. It would be nice to have the ability to adjust the margins. Overall, thanks for a great, stable product.

This is great. I was looking for something cute and customizable but it was hard with having a chromebook. Many different things to choose from, colors, fonts. Its great.

Very much like it but trying to sync it with other devices is an infuriating exercise where no matter what I do and what order I do it, the version I want preserved and propagated across other devices ends up being the one overwritten with no option to revert.

This extention is hot like my girlfriend

I liked the extension in general but I had a pretty negative experience with it today. I woke up to see my browser open on the dev's paypal and was pretty confused if I was hacked or had left it on a hacked site or what. Turns out the developer of Caretab has started silently redirecting the new tab to his paypal. That can't be a good way to solicit donations.

Brilliant extension. Has the full day and date in the format I prefer and just works. It has just the right amount of customization too. Well done on the beautiful design and functionality.

I agree that this is a very good extension. I'm not sure if this has been suggested already, but it would be nice if the cursor was already blinking, ready to go in the search engine area of the page rather than having to click to insert the cursor. Small thing, I know, but I think of it every time I reach for my mouse to use the search feature on the CaretTab page.

Really love this extension! Would rate five stars but, I use the search engine Ecosia because it helps plant trees. I would really like a feature where you can add any custom search engine, or if you could please add Ecosia.

Customize Foreground and Background colors. Having the ability to set the clock in 24 hour mode. Add "DuckDuckGo" to the list of search engines, for the search bar. Are good details for me.

Beautiful extension, the only reason I cannot use it (in dark mode) is the white splash while opening new tab (with or without animation). At night, when everything's dark, this pitch white blink is painful. On the other hand - "Just black" theme from Chrome team doesn't have that blink.

Amazing! I almost wish I could use it as my screensaver/screenlocker. Using the search box as the password field.

I like it a lot; but I wish there were an on-off switch so that I could easily alternate between using the CaretTab extension's interface, and the non-the CaretTab extension interface.

Liked it but hijacking the "how do I start chrome" so that I can't select "where I left off" is lame... please fix.

Only bad thing about this extension is the name. This is super helpful. I didn't realize that it would replace new tab page, but its well worth it. I wish you could configure it to have a light theme during daylight hours and a dark theme when it's dark out, but I guess that would require the extension to know your location and access to a database of sunrise/sunset times.
