This software is outdated and doesn't work with current versions of Chrome. Please, please, please Update this. I have to baby these damn downloads instead of me going off and doing something far more productive. This is a huge burden and waist of time.
scam!!
Doesn't work.
Doesn't seem to do anything.
Doesn't work FOR REAL
Does not work.
this one actually works! five stars and keep it up! ^_^
It works, only the time is too long. It will be better if you would be able to setup the time for resume to what you want, e.g. to 10 sec. of even 2 sec. Sometimes to wait 1 min. is too long if it happens very often.
It takes 40-120 seconds to resume the download but there in so denying that it works
not working :(
Only problem I had with it is that when it does resume the download, it starts again all the way back at zero. It doesn't keep adding to what it already had downloaded. How does that help if you have a slow connection that drops frequently? We never get the whole file downloaded.
It's pretty awesome! The only thing is that it doesn't resume the download instantly. However, I understand that nothing can be 100% perfect. I can finally sleep or do other things while it downloads
Used it for a while now on a shaky connection and it's been extremely helpful. The extension appears to attempt to restart downloads once per minute, so it may appear to be doing nothing when it's just waiting. Could use a notification icon or something to show that it's working, otherwise extremely useful.
Does nothing!!!
Useless
No problem whatsoever. Does exactly what it should. Now I can safely leave multiple files to be downloaded without having to restart manually. Great for overnight downloads.
Not working, waste of time.
Didn't work for me AT ALL! I had high hopes, but I'm about to remove this extension.
Worked as promised. I don't know much about the functionality of leaving it unattended to keep redownloading; for my use, I had a lot (>100) failed downloads when mass downloading images, and this at least offered a painless way to resume them all, without having to go through one-by-one. Very handy for those who use mass downloaders!
it shows some delay but t worked for me, like it auto resumes the download n 5-7 sec, but it worked, so thanks!
It just work at the beginning :(
be a little patient it does click resume every 60 seconds just wait for it
I have a mesh wifi network and this always happens to me with large files. I installed it and the same stuff keeps happening. Its useless.
Very useful! It doesn't obvious how it work at first after installing it, but it actually auto resumes the failed downloads after several seconds. It'll be great to allow setting the auto-restart interval. I just wish I came across this extension earlier - I wasn't aware this is possible!
works fine for even multiple downloads at once, just give it a minute. I am running version 84.0.4147.125 of chrome
doesnt work at all
Didnt resume any of my downloads ! No point installing this extension
it worked at first, but after a few months, it stopped working
This was very helpful! I was a bit worried at first after seeing the reviews, but I used it on a site that fails a lot, and it worked! I believe that people are giving it bad reviews because it doesn't immediately resume downloads. It says in the description that it might take a minute, so this is mostly for people who want to download something without looking at their computer. If it were to constantly check for failures, your computer might end up slowing down. Remember: If it doesn't seem to work, wait 1 minute.
Does nothing. thank you for wasting time.
It would be better if you can automatically resume downloads after 5-10 seconds after failing instead of 1 minutue.
It is a very good Chrome Extension since well it auto resumes downloads but i kinda ran into an error yesterday. so i was downloading a 11gb game then i took a bath then i come back to see that it has an error it was resumable since i resumed it just something to look out for i guess.
thank you very much, ive been looking for something like this and it works on my chrome
it does the job somehow, considering that my connectivity is sometimes unreliable, i just leave the downloads there, and they resume after awhile, i don,t have to manually initiate the resume
Doesn't work for me
Works for me. When download fails it takes about a minute to start up again. Works as described.
I wasted 15 GB of data from 2 days of downloading a file with the size of 3.7 GB , It starts downloading from beginning even after downloaded 3GB after the data pack finished while recharging with the new pack!
Well, it works just great for me. Would like it even better if it waited only 10 seconds (or even less) to resume download.
PRO 1. It truly convenient to know that it automatically resume your failed downloads CONS 1. It is slow because it wait for a minute before it resumes a file to download 2. when the file continuously failed to download it stops resuming it like what happened to me my file failed 3x and it automatically resumes the file but when the 4th time comes in, it failed to resume the file like it stops working totally.
guys after u install it whenever your download stop in the middle of downloading do not press continue button just wait for awhile about 30sec it will automatically continue to download by itself. so far it happen to me my download 3 time it stop and it resume back after 30 sec. i hope my post help all of u here :) cheers!
Still works. Thought it no longer did. Just takes 10-60s to restart.
worked for a few hours ... not anymore :(
OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY WORKS I TRIED SO MANY BROWSER AND I WILL LIST THEM HERE AND THEY ALL FAILED FOR ME OPERA..BRAVE..FIREFOX..UR..AND UC...XTREME DOWNLOAD MANAGER..FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER..UEHH MICROSOFT DOWNLOAD MANAGER..HMM COUPLE MORE I UNINSTALLED THEM CANT REMEMBER THE RESTBUT ANYWAY CHROME WAS THE BEST DOWNLOADING AND RESUMING LARGE FILES BUT AFTER CONNECTION FAILURE I HAD TO STAY BEHIND PC TO CLICK RETRY OVER AND OVER AGAIN..OMG YOU GUYS ARE LIFESAVERS THANK YOU 5 STARS MAN !!!
It only works about 50% of the time. If it worked a bit better, would 5 star.
good. download fails with 'error: authentication required', wish this add-on could handle this. also licence unspecified: if it's foss, can i please have a link to the source?
If it does not work for you, it is probably because you have too many downloads in your Chrome Downloads page. Easy fix for this: Go to Chrome downloads page, click the 3 dots in the top right, and then click "Clear all". Then close ALL Chrome windows and relaunch Chrome. This extension started working perfectly for me after I did that. (The max size of Chrome's "downloadItems" array is 1000, so if you have downloaded over 1000 items since you last cleared it, apparently that can break this extension.)
Does what it says. I had to be patient but it kicked in.
this does work, it takes a minute each time.
Wait, what was the function of this extension again? It just looks like a free loader with no purpose.
works fine for me
Working great for me in Chrome 75.0.3770.100 (Official Build) (64-bit), and being here in China with a craptastic interent connections, I need all the help I can get.
GUYS GIVE IT A MINUTE, IT'S MAGIIIIIICCCCCC OMGGG.....THE MOST USEFUL CHROME APP SO FAR.
Works great, resumes the downloads in one minute as promised. Finally I don't have to supervise my massive downloads and just do something else.
As of June 2019 this is working fine. It immediately found an old download that failed and tried to resume it (I cancelled that; the location wasn't valid, this extension won't fix that). While downloading a video file that kept failing, the extension would properly resume it on its refresh interval.
doesnt work
It works for me! I didn't have to do anything but install it—I didn't even have to restart my browser. It just started working, resuming downloads within a minute or so after reconnecting to the internet.
Saves my day, simple code and works like a charm. To anyone saying this extension doesn't work: just be patient. It runs on every minute, when it runs it resumes any interrupted downloads found at the time. It works good enough for me but I believe you should add an option for running interval (like every 5/10 minutes instead of every minute) and maximum resume limit (say only resume for 99 times and stops afterward. This would add complexity to the code but I just wonder if a download keeps failing, would this extension just run indefinitely?)
Love it, did what i needed it to do, so thank you!
So simple. Finally something that does exactly what its supposed to do with no hassle.
This works fantastic and as advertised. I would however love a option to get a option to change the time to wait, instead of every minute how about check every 20. This being said fantastic plugin and hope to see updates from it soon
Scumbag Mabney. Doesn't work. If you can't make a great app, at least make a functional one.
A lot of people are saying that this extension doesn't work. But it works perfectly for me. Perhapes people are expecting it to auto resume immediately. But it doesn't do that. It randomly auto resumes between 1 and 60 seconds after a download fails. It likely has that random feature to help ensure it doesn't trigger a server to assume a website download script is downloading their site.
excellent! I have pretty sucky internet, so thank you good sir
I have a problem. When i try to install this, the download immediately fails along with a "failed - forbidden" error. The extension does still get "added" to chrome, but the icon in the toolbar is just a grey, rounded square with a lowercase "a" in it. I hope that these are necessary details. It doesn't do anything either, like how several other people have said. I'll just be leaving this with a 3-star rating since i trust in this extension and that i'm sure this isn't intentional.
Actually works! As soon as I installed it, every download and their big brother sprung into action. Many Thanks!
it works for me, perhaps u just need to wait for 1 minutes to see the effect occur
So far so good, already working for the first 2 files I'm downloading which keeps dropping a few times already. Instead of manually resuming downloads, the extension will automatically do it for you, though it takes approx. a minute or less to resume. Wish the extension had an option to auto-resume at the users desired time for example instantly. [UPDATE: After a few other downloads, some files auto-resumed while some others did not and required a manual resume.] Other than that, it's awesome not having to sit in front of my screen having to manually restart every single dropped download from sites with weak connections and possibly losing the the "download in progress" all together. Especially hours later downloading large files all night long to find the "Failed - Network error" on your file(s) and having to restart from the beginning because the progress is lost (by Chrome or host link) and will no longer "Resume" but have to "Restart". It's time consuming! Thanx!!!
It is doing on itself but it is very slow. It will not automatically resume after it paused/failed instantly. It should start as soon as it paused. It is very slow if you have more than one download item and failed continuously. It should be much more improved as both items(browser and extensions) are from Google
Works as advertised, very satisfied!
It doesn't do anything for me. I'm using Chrome Version 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10. I was really looking forward to having this functionality. Maybe the plugin just needs more testing?
Works!
doesn't do anything
Still work on 6th Dec, thanks :)
Works perfectly for me. Takes anywhere from 5 seconds to a little over a minute to resume the download from a failed state. It only works if it failed on its own (like timeout or lost connection). If you canceled the download, the extension will ignore it.
No use at all
Installed this extension, windows defender started giving notifications about Tiggre!rfn virus in a file called brutus-aet2.zip.crdownload (which I don't have). After approximately one notification a minute for 10 minutes I uninstalled this extension and the malware notifications stopped. Pretty much sure this extension is a virus, do not use.
doesnt work for me
It doesn't do anything at all.
Doesn't work
Does what it says love it!
Not working for me
It works Perfectly! Now I can download my files overnight without worrying Thanks!!
its not working all time it somtimes stop for no reason
Worked for me! Didn't have to redo a 900GB download.
Is there a way to keep it from attempting to restart downloads that were canceled by me or unable to be restarted?
nice.
doesn't work
Very handy. Now I can finally download those 1GB+ files without worrying sitting in front of my screen the whole time.
Does what it's suppose to.
A real Blessing. This extension just saved my company several gigs worth of data. More power to your arm Mabney11.
doesnt do anything
Good for slow connections
Works very efficiently
