Doesn't hide the characters, anyone looking over your shoulder can see your password.

It does "work" but if you simply cancel the the "enter your password" option, and deny closing all the tabs, you can just get right back on the that "protected" user. 0/10

Not working properly for me.

protect your browser but the developer reads all your browsing history. Furthermore all one need to do is disable the extension in safe mode

Extension is good...but good to have password hidden while entering. Also when enabled dynamic password, master password doesn't seem to be working. Pls fix this.

there is a bug in this extension, when we enter wrong password, it asks for close all tab or cancel, if we press cancel, password method doesn't work.

There's a bug in this extension. Whenever you boot your PC, it opens up chrome and asks for password, and if you press cancel, it will exit the browser. Now, if you relaunch your chrome, it will open up straightly, and it will not ask password again... Everytime, i need to exit chrome from tray in order for this extension to work.. Just fix the problem of chrome opening immediately after booting up windows... Thanks in advance..

really good. can recommend without doubt would be really better if the option of being able to set a timer to reenable the effect after disabling. please enable that enable that option.

dangerous app...google must need to test this app! there are some serious bugs, that you will not be able to use either chrome or the same account. it will lock your browser.

Working only 1 time after booting. You need to shutdown the pc for ReLock. (unsafe)

Steps to delete this extension if you forgot your password 1) open cmd 2) open icognito mode but change the path to your path "C:\Users\RD2\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -incognito https://www.tenforums.com then delete the extension if you enable the extension to work in incognito mode then try this 3) disable chrome extension "C:\Users\RD2\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-extensions

the only problem is you can not hade you entered password

When I OPEN chrome this lock appears, But the issue here is, the lock appears with showing all the tabs even before unlocking! Fix that soon!

It work on the same system where you install extension and set password, if you use same account on other computer then password was not accespt and close chrome.

select chrome > right click > incognito. cancel password entry. and you're in. can easily access your passwords and everything else

Ufff..terrible. I defined the password, and If I type any other pass the browser closes, but when I open it again it is like the extension isn't loaded because I can use normally Chrome. Uninstalled!

I havei t for 5 mins and already find a way to brake it add -incognito on chrome shortcut, when chrome start ask for password click cancel, and it will lunch in incognito and from there go on options open new window and it works without password

This extension closese chrom once the password is wrong but when u restart chrome it open without the password that is one thing they cn change but its realy nice and secure

There was this very simple "HACK" to open this without entering password i tested on windows 1. Click Start button in your Windows Taskbar 2. Search for Chrome 3. Right click and click on "New Incognito Tab" 4. Click Cancel or OK on the password prompt causing the tab to be closed but leaving an incognito tab open 5. press "Ctrl + H" , This opens up the default user's Chrome History BYPASSING THE LOCK instead of Incognito tab 5. Click the "+" icon to Open a new tab, which opens in the Supposedly locked User's profile from where we can even remove the Extension It was a bump to the head because I didnt thought it would be this easy, since i saw other people's comment of their own ways to open it. Anyway, Thumps up for developer to actually give a First Line of Defense against Normal People accidentally opening Chrome .

opening your browser first was okay it will automatically prompt a password needed the problem is, if you close the browser the browser without typing the password and open it again, it will no longer prompt a password this app was a lie

I added this extension, it asked me to set the password, I did and then my browser get closed but when I re-open my browser it got opened without asking for any password to authenticate whether its me or someone else. I don't know why the main functionality of this extension is not working. I tried uninstalling and installing twice but did not work. Then I had to install it again third time to share my experience with this extension. Now uninstalling again and going to try some others to see if they work. Thanks for wasting my time!

Why the Password should be visible while entering ????

Its a great extension but i have a issue with it that it doesn't have any option to hide the password.Its a security issue.

I'm reading some reviews and as they claim of some tricks to bypass it is valueless...I'm trying to bypass as they said but not worked...so don't review it as worthless.. though there was a negative point which is when we trying to put password its characters are visible.. pls look into this matter developer

VERY NICE

Was good overall, just one issue. Once prompt to login if you create another tab some parts are still accessible. For example your profile picture (Top right) is click able and you can click the 9 dots. I did only find this bug after looking about for a long time and therefore I feel as if this is overall good but with a few small flaws.

A simple app that works. Should have mask the password though. Important note to other users: to allow this extension during incognito mode, if not able to access chrome without password via incognito mode.

I installed it. But I did not set up any password. Now everytime I open my chrome, it asks for password. And then crashes

Showing your password on screen is a dumb idea! Why have the developers not listened to any previous comments and changed it or at least give us the option to mask/unmask password.

It's working perfectly! I'm just lil uncomfortable with visible (readable) password text and the title "Set password for your browser". Just a clean dialogue box with title "Enter Password" would make it perfect to me. Thanks for this nice extension!

Pretty much useless. It will ask for password when you open the browser, but when you hit cancel, you can use the browser anyways. Beats the purpose of the plugin.

It is not working properly. First time it wants password to entry. But if i enter a wrong password, then chrome is being closed automatically. Then if i wants to visit chrome , it is not wanting any password to entry. help me,,,,,,,,

It's working fine chrome Scenario Tried 1. Open Chrome Browser try to open Incognito Browser which is disabled and when we cancel password alert box it will close the chrome 2. Try to inspect Element it's disabled it too and setting and clear cache not enabled 3. On Windows right click chrome and open with Incognito and cancel the password alert box and make an search it's working fine so it's an bug it have to be fixed.

DON NOT INSTALL THIS, it doesn't have the basic feature, which is "setting password for your browser". when it pops out and asks for password you just need to press the cancel button and opening chrome again to get in without entering any password.

Pretty good! It may not have the most modern-sleek look to it as most internet products do, but it certainly gets the job done!

fake Extension i can open even by wrong password just fist open your other chorme then open your lock user chrome put any wrong password . and it wil closed and then open again lock chrome user it will open without any password. fake app don't trust.

Does nothing barely works at that. I can still open my browsers without ever being prompted to enter a password. Reinstalled multiple times.

I tested this ext for a month now and it's working ok. But i highly highly recommend below upgrades. 1 - Hide the password as the user types it in (put dots instead) - it's really important for users that use public PCs or have people looking over their shoulders 2 - Instead of asking for password everything user completely exit out Chrome, make a log out or exit out button on top corner - This saves the users so much time when they keep opening and closing chrome but only requires them to log into it once.

I installed it 12 May 2019 - I am happy to report that all the issues by the previous posters seem to have been resolved! This is a much needed feature in Chrome. I am surprised that Google hasn't thought of it themselves. If you use the Chrome browser on multiple PCs and if you are not signing out each time, anyone with access to that PC can enter your browser, see your browsing history, saved passwords, get into your email... basically everything is vulnerable if someone has access to your other machine. That's a big problem for people using Chrome at work, because network admins will definitely have access to the work PC with admin rights vs your user rights and therefore will be able to open up your browser, email etc at will. This extension fixes this HUGE security flaw in Chrome - its a must have! GOOGLE - ARE YOU READING THIS? BUY THIS GUY OUT ASAP!! :-))

I have had this extension for a while now using Chrome on the latest Windows 10 and it does specifically what it is supposed to do. Very simple but offers a couple different unique password options that I haven't seen anywhere else, and the options do actually work. So thank you for this app it works for me. ***P.S. Make sure you remember the option you choose!!!**

Doesn't lock chrome at all. Typing the incorrect password only closes the browser window [& not quit the app] . Open the browser again and you're straight in. If anything, it's great to make it appear you have a chrome lock.

why this extension reads our history

Good extension but for an extension supposed to add security it is very awkward that password is shown in plain text... At least there should be an option to show/hide password by default. Also, it would be nice to have a "Lock" button to have Chrome locked manually at any time.

THIS EXTENSION SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM CHROME WEBSTORE. DOES NOT WORK AS EXPECTED. and it also needs permission to "Read your browsing history" and I don't know why? Read below my comment on the detail on how it does not work. It says: "This extension will allow users to set password for the browser to avoid unauthorized access. Prompts for password on chrome startup" It does allow user to set password and on chrome startup, it prompts for password. That's it. It does not protect from unauthorized access. If you enter or do not enter anything on the popup for password then browser will just hide/minimize and then when I again open the chrome browser then I can use it without any password or protection. So it does not work the way it should for protecting chrome browser. Note: I am using mac and experienced in mac. not sure about any other OS.

When prompted for a password, if you click cancel then reopen the browser it does not ask for the password again and you can access the browser as normal, making this extension useless.

It does not work with Zenmate VPN. Developer should mention this in there details. Nevertheless thank you for making it. Please include hide password option while being typing. if someone see while typing whats the point of these extension.

This extension is worst extension i have ever seen. Anyone can easily remove this extension without any password. Simply open incognito browsing using right click on the icon and using three dot in incognito browsing go to settings this will easily open user account on which password has been added . Now you can easily remove this extension.. So developer of this extension please ensure security as we are adding this extension for security purposes. So increase security so that we can add your extension for our security purposes..

It does what it says, though the actual function is poor. There are a couple of problems: 1. There is no way to type your password without it being shown to you and potentially anybody else within the room. 2. If you get notifications, such as from YouTube or Facebook, it can completely circumvent the block. All you have to do is click on it and you've easily bypassed the system. This alone is a major red flag and a reason why you shouldn't use it until it's patched out. 3. Perhaps it's just me not understanding if the app has to use this to function properly, but the application can read your browser history. Tread with extreme caution. I would not recommend getting this until the author fixes these problems.

Everything is good n all but plz make the pass invisible

I have 3 user profiles set up, I just need one of them to be secured. I installed this extension and set a password, everything seemed to be fine. I made sure that the Chrome app shortcut in windows opens Chrome to one of the non password protected profiles. When you select my password protected profile from that users session the Chrome lock appears as it should. However if you click CANCEL (the windows closes as it should) and then select the profile a second time it opens right into the profile , no password protect. :(
