I have used Rakuten since it was first introduced. And then they changed their name and competitors set in. Rakuten is not persistent and often fails to show up in Chrome as my preferred savings site. It also doesn't play well with other extensions I have loaded and causes me to do a lot of interventions in the name of saving a few pennies. If it worked perfectly it would be my go to site. But it doesn't.

I've had Rakuten since it debuted as EBates (late 1990s)... and when I discovered I had several other cash back extensions and wanted to clean up my extensions, Rakuten is the one I chose to stick with. It's easy to use, does all the work for me and keeps my paperwork in order. Their customer service folks are pleasant to work with and I always get stellar service from them. I just LUHV you guys! :-)

I love saving money and getting cash back! Especially being on a fixed income and having to watch what I spend. I adore having Rakuten as an extension on my browser and it pops up for me when there are coupons! It is absolutely fantastic!!

Usually Rakuten is great and saves me some money. A couple of times it has overridden my Capital One savings and ended up costing me more money because I can't get the Cap One code back. I wish it was smart enough to know when there is a better deal all ready in place.

I don't shop for anything before I check on Rakuten! I love the cashback and deals. I made a ton of cashback during the holiday season for presents I was going to buy from the same merchants through Rakuten. Keep up the great work!

I recently made a purchase at samsung but im afraid that maybe i might not get my cashback approved only because i also recieved a student discount for being a student from samsung upon checkout, is it possible to get denied? i did everything through Rakuten. please guys i would appreciate a response, otherwise it was a great and easy experience.

I have a long history of overpaying for everything. This system is a dream. I don't have to do any of the legwork, it does it all for me. Coupons and cash back. I love it!!!

This extension does not work. It says I am eligible for cash back, then logs my shopping activity, and it does not deliver me the cash back promised. Waste of time and energy when there are other extensions like Coupert and Honey promising more.

There's no down side to using Rakuten, only benefits. The best and most obvious benefit comes in the form of an actual check in the mail for the cash back I've earned just by shopping for things I was going to buy anyway. My next favorite benefit is the way that Rakuten helps me find discount codes when I'm shopping online to help save me even more. Savings up front and cash back afterwards. What's not to love?

Most of my shopping is done online so getting a surprise check every 3 months is great. Even if it's a small check now-a-days anything helps. Glad that it's so easy to use also.

Pretty awesome, actually! I normally would never do this kind of thing, but once you get used to pausing AdBlock for that site and refreshing it, it is a pretty sweet deal! And it does all the work for you: deals, coupons, discounts that I did not even know existed, and it also suggested other places where prices may be better. Love it so far! And got a little check too.

I love everything about Rakuten extension, but (unless I am missing something), it is hard to tell if it registered with the store site/remained registered if I put the laptop down and come back a bit later, or if I click around websites looking for the best deal. I do wish there was a little icon somewhere on the page that tells me the store and Rakuten is/is still linked. I end up closing out the site and going through the Rakuten site to be sure

It's always nice to get cash back on purchases.

This thing saves you money, period. It's not just the cash back which is great by itself, but it also "knows about" available coupons for a given site and tries all of them for you in checkout and automatically applies the one with the highest applicable discount. This thing just unexpectedly saved me 20% via coupon code, PLUS the 2% cash back at the site. There is simply no reason not to use this, start saving money today!

I was referred by my brother who helped me pick out some laptops for black friday. He told me Rakuten was offering 15% cash back if you purchase from Lenovo through Rakuten's website. I was really excited as I was looking forward to using Rakuten for many other shopping needs. I read through their website and it claimed I would receive the cash back in my Rakuten account within the same day or the day after. That excitement I had quickly turned to disappointment and frustration after I placed a order on Lenovo totaling nearly $4,500 on two gaming laptops with the promise of 15% cash back and a $40 referral bonus. The cashback + bonus Rakuten advertises is what made me make the decision to spend so much this black friday. It's going on two weeks now without receiving the cashback + referral bonus that was promised. I tried emailing them and they told me I would have to wait 45 days or more. They want me to wait until the return policy runs out on my purchase so I have no choice but to keep the full priced Laptops with zero cashback or bonus. I don't want to wait that long. It shouldn't take 45 days to get in touch with Lenovo and sort this out. I am so upset to find out that this is how Rakuten does business. I was hoping for them to be my go-to cashback extension. I contacted Lenovo about this and was given outstanding customer service. They went out of their way to try to make it right. They also said they would email Rakuten to confirm the purchase I made so I could be allowed the cashback bonus but it seems Rakuten isn't interested in resolving this. At this time, I cannot recommend Rakuten to anybody. They track you, sell your data, and make you beg for the money they promised you.

I like it, for the most part. BUT, it really needs a feature (Ad-Block does this) where you can disable certain websites. Such as, when I go to sign-in to my Square dashboard, I don't need this popping up with some random store's discount codes, it's totally irrelevant and downright annoying. Please allow me to disable sites that I don't want it to check for.

It actually works without gimmicks. The coupons save me money sometimes, and checks randomly show up with money I've earned. I expected the usual scam from these sorts of things, but not this time. I've earned hundreds of dollars by doing nothing, and they also have copon codes now that help sometimes. Pleasently surprised!!

Been using it for quite some time. Also been getting my checks in the mail as promised. Nowadays every little bit helps when you're on a small fixed income. Last site was 10%, so over $15 for a single purchase was nice.

I REALLY LIKE THE AUTOMATIC COUPONS

Love getting my check in and have referred all of my friends. One received his check while I was visiting the other day- $110! He will be using it for his Christmas shopping and, of course, shopping stores with Rakuten! Does not cost anything to join and to get free cash back and I love that it applies the appropriate coupons for the sites.

It's ok, usually it offers 1% cash back, which doesn't add up to much, but it's something. It has competition from my bank and Karma, however.

I am using it for years, but last two years they sent me check to old address and I cashed it late , my bank retuned checks and charged me fee. I called and they said they will send me new checks but I never received them

Easy to use. It will search and apply coupons automatically. Cash back comes in a check, typically every 3 months. Refer a friend now, and get $40.

This the first time using Rakuten and I have to say, I did not expect the huge savings. I would write more but I got more shopping to do.

LOVE THE EXTENSION - I use Rakuten all the time. It's great for hotels, travel, tickets and general shopping. If you shop online use Rakuten for huge savings. My cash back total is outrageous. Also getting friends to sign up and use it during bonus periods is awesome. Once my friends use it they love it!

It's a really great tool when I remember to use it. I love getting a fat check every quarter.

Skeptical of the extension but finally decided to give it a try and I've been pleasantly surprised since I did! As others have mentioned, it pops up on many sites I wouldn't have known I could received cash back while shopping with Rakuten, and always finds a coupon that saves me an extra bit, as well. On-line shopping at a hardware store and I saved $17 this morning!

This is the best way to find deals and save money. Every but counts and I can rely on Rakuten to bring me the best coupons without any garbage attached.

Love Rakuten but liked the old name better, easier to remember and when referring, easier for the person I'm referring it to, to remember. I don't refer as many people as I'd like because most of my family/friends shop using their phone and Rakuten doesn't have a drop-down screen for the phone.

I love how easy it is to use! I don't have to go searching for coupons or cash back. It just adds it for me once I'm linked. They even have cash back for travel companies like Expedia, Best Western, etc. That adds up quickly!

I've activated cashback and made some purchases but the app only counted a single order and I didn't get any other cashback. Tried to reach them out but they've been blocked that feature... When you try to contact them you'll get a "Please include your order confirmation." error which is nonsense and non-applicable to any tab. They literally didn't count and cashback my purchases.. tricky games they play

Wish it actually paid me for all the shopping I do at Ulta, Walgreens and Macy's. No matter how much I'm supposed to be earning from the considerable buying I do from those stores, I never get paid for it. If I go to a lot of trouble and contact them about specific shopping trips, they say the stores haven't paid them but they will pay me. This is supposed to be seamless -- I don't have time to spend an hour or more collecting all that info and writing emails all the dang time. Frustrating.

I have been using Rakuten for several months, now. I have not disabled it out of hoping that in the end it will be worth it. After quite some time of use, I received a check for $11!!! I was not that excited. It is a pain to have to disable my ad blocker every single time, and then get a 1 or 2 or even 3%! of an already discounted price? What's the point? I am sure that this thing does work for the company but I fail to see how it benefits the individual user much.

I enjoy using Rakuten, but the extension is very intrusive. I like having the button there, but I don't want it to alert me with pop ups that cover part of the website. I have tried disabling desktop notifications, but the setting doesn't save and it continues to give me alerts on every shopping site. The instructions on rakuten.com say to check "Do not display Activation Hover" but that option does not exist in the Chrome extension.

Rakuten is fantastic! I have been using this for many years all the way back to when it was Ebates and first started out. Rakuten acquired Ebates and has absolutely amazing since they took over. They make everything so easy and the payouts are top notch!
