Sucks in comparison to the app, but the updated MacOS app doesn't work on my OS, without warning, and won't uninstall fully so that it forcibly disabled my old version (that was in a separate folder, and blocks reinstallation of the old one) so I'm forced to use this. It's okay sometimes but it's unreliable and I'm using it for work and educational purposes, so reliable is important.
It doesn't work at all anymore.
It takes a long time and sometimes they are never sent to the mail.
It doesn't work for a long time, unable to send to kindle, can't open delivery options. It works now, thanks,
It stopped working for me with the update. The menu buttons are not clickable, preview & send and send to kindle buttons are not functioning.
I just tried to use it, and it opened up dozens of empty tabs in my Chrome browser until my system crashed. Beware this extension.
If you have multiple browser windows, and you click this extension to send one web page to kindle, sometimes it's actually sending another web page in a different browser window.....
I have seen a new update in December 2022, please update it regularly. I was using kindle paperwhite send to kindle is very useful. Due to problems in update i had to download webpage as epub and then use send to kindle in desktop version.
Used to work, but not anymore. Will be selling my kindle.
Works well. Wish it had a Right-Click menu context choice so I could just send documents to Kindle from web links without opening them first.
simply doesn't work. Says no connection to internet.
Doesn't work - creates a blank preview and none of the buttons work.
It was great, but stopped working.
THIS EXTENSION IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED AND THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. The extension has effectively become non-functional for me (after many years of using it), and the recommendation I made 4 months ago no longer helps. Customer service has not responded to an email requesting support. The last update was over a year ago. It looks like Amazon has closed this department. [Previous comment from July 2022: If this extension is not working for you, try right clicking on the "Send to Kindle" icon in your Chrome browser, then click on "Manage extensions" and if the "Allow access to file URLs" option is turned off, turn it on. This fixed the problem for me. (Thank you Vjenceslav Boljinac for this simple solution!)]
Preview suddenly stops working - please fix it - It worked fine a week ago!
not work
Doesn't work. Just gets stuck on 'analysing website' and shows an error in the browser console.
Works well for me. But the icon is really too old fashion, how about make it flat and simple?
It's just not working. Like others, I also see the message "We're sorry but we are unable to send documents to your Kindle. Please ensure that you are connected to the network and try again." when I click 'send.' I really doubt that Amazon cares about their extension for kindle.
seems this has be depracticated, but still sitting here?
It never works. Have tried it so many times - be it a blog or a news article. It simply shows this message - We're sorry but we are unable to send documents to your Kindle. Please ensure that you are connected to the network and try again.
Does not work. Does nothing.
This stupid extension is asking to login everytime.
Amazon, this app is so unreliable. Works <5% of the time. You are making me want to buy a Kobo ereader which has the Pocket App built into the device. Please invest in the app to keep customers in the Kindle ecosystem.
Fine when it works, which is 1% of the time. Already tried logging out and logging in again, opening in an incognito tab, clearing all cookies. Nothing makes it work again.
I'm so bummed that it doesn't work. I gave it a try multiple times over the past year and articles I sent to kindle were always incomplete. Absolutely unreliable.
it's great, when it actually works. Most of the time the articles are not sent at all.
Worked well for a while, but in the last few months it suddenly stopped working. Chrome is up to date, reinstalled the extension, verified the kindle I selected.... and still get "We're sorry but we are unable to send documents to your kindle. Please ensure you are connected to the network and try again." Was incredibly useful up until then, so hopefully they update it soon to fix this issue.
When you open up a PDF, no matter how many pages it has, it only sends the first one. I see reviews of things from 2016, so in 2021 (almost 2022) I assume they don't update this anymore.
Doesn't work for amazon.ca. always redirect to amazon.com on which my account doesn't work.
I used to use this all the time, but it's not working anymore. I wish Amazon would fix this extension! It makes it so much easier to review, highlight, markup web pages in kindle format.
Too buggy and in desperate need of a redesign. Doesn't copy headlines, skips some images, exports articles to justify-only views. Uninstalled and switched to anther extention developed by an indie team (five filters) instead. Amazon should hire them - they're doing a much better job.
It doesn't work
happy it exists but please add support for pictures
Brilliant idea. I've wished for a reader that can run the popular 'read-it-later' services for a few years now. I can see how the 'collections' feature of the Kindle would make it fairly easy to manage content. All I need now is a way to migrate from another service, where all my tags get converted to 'collections'. AMAZON PLEASE DEVELOP THIS!
It doesn't work anymore.
Doesn't work
dogshit when it comes to PDFs, just doesn't work. It's 2021, I'm not installing a desktop app and a print spooler to beam PDFs over to a device on the same network. Get real.
This doesn't work near as well as in the beginning - cuts off articles that show in full on the web page at the top or bottom, doesn't capture half or any of the graphics and started requiring la new login with every use. Now it's almost hardly worth the hassles.
Doesn't work anymore. Sending article says "Successful" but article never appears on Kindle. Worked for me a few months ago....
Does not support RTL. It can not be used to read Persian, Arabic and Hebrew content. Paragraphs are left-aligned. If a word in the English alphabet is in the text, the sentence will be cluttered. It is really unfortunate that a big company like Amazon does not pay attention to these things. It could be solved with a simple change in CSS.
Broken since two days - gets stuck at 'sending content' but never sends. Developer tools show me "bia-hcb-js.mi:5 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 8 at JSON.parse (<anonymous>) at XMLHttpRequest.<anonymous> (send-to-kindle-logic.js:24)" Vivaldi 2.11.1811.51, up to date Chromium.
It was my primary app to send documents to my Kindle, and I used it many times a week. Then it quit working. Now I receive a notification that I do not have a supported device. That would be news to the Five Filters "Push to Kindle" and the "Send to Reader" bookmarklets that still work very well. I miss being able to edit the title and author sections so I could have my content sorted on the Kindle, that was the best part of this app when it worked.
Worked for a while, but now doesn't recognize my kindle anymore. Check that it is the right account, checked the useless Amazon troubleshooting, reloaded the app, nothing seemed to help. Switched to the (non amazon) app 'push to kindle' and everything works fine, which is kind of hilarious if you think about it.
Stopped recognizing devices to send to. Please fix this!
I've been using it happily for a long time but recently it says "You don't have a supported Kindle device or reading app.", even though I do have a Kindle. What could have gone wrong? Thanks!
Didn't recognize my Kindle Fire 8 at all and couldn't send any web page or document I had. Tried to get help from Amazon and they couldn't help me either so I had to get rid of the extension. I really wanted it to work...
Not working anymore. It tells me that I not have any compatible device why my account have kindle page white.
Its not working for me, earlier it used to work just fine. I am from India and my devices got migrated to amazon.in, i switched it back to amazon.com still its not showing me kindle supported devices, I have Iphone & a kindle paperwhite. Help me fix it.
doesn't work at all.
Cannot login with Amazon Japan account yet.
Works well most of the time, but after using Push to Kindle extension ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.fivefilters.kindleit&hl=en) I'm sold on the latter. I use this with the Note Extractor plug in to get all my notes and highlights exported to documents. (tiny.cc/notex, or https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/note-extractor-for-kindle/ibeckfniallenijicobjjgnkebkgicgm)
It's what it is.
Currently will not work for me. It gets stuck on "Analyzing Website" and never progresses
Esta super la acabo de testear en mis dos kindles y funciona de maravilla se muede cambiar el tipo de letra interlineado. Esta SUPER :D
Does not work anymore
官方的这个很久没有更新了,而且经常内容抓取不完整,有个叫Push to Kindle的比这个好用多了
It's simply not working at all.
We need it to work in other regions' Amazon account, not only the US.
Yes, stopped working in Chrome v73, just adding my voice to the others so maybe they will fix it sooner. Update: fixed :)
No longer works!!
Does not work with .co.uk accounts. At least I could not get it to work. It kept saying I had no available Kindle devices. Didn't realise why, but I was logged in via .com When I log into my .co.uk where I have my kindles, there's nothing :(
Stopped working with recent Chrome update :(
Please fix it. It worked great and I miss it :(
Workaround for Chrome v73.... Install brave.com browser and then add this extension (using chrome store). It will work, probably until brave will upgrade chromium engine.
Stop working on new chrome version!!
Stopped working entirely, not sure why. Please patch.
I have found a way to fix it the regression in Chrome 73, at least on OSX Mojave, run in the terminal: /Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --disable-web-security --allow-file-access-from-files --allow-file-access --user-data-dir ~/Documents On one hand, Firefox extension does not work with recent Firefox. On the other hand, amazon does not care. They are too rich, not professional, not very good at customer service ... I don't know ...
Loved it but now the CORB breaks it. 'send-to-kindle-logic.js:24 Cross-Origin Read Blocking (CORB) blocked cross-origin response https://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle/service?action=reftag&ref_=stk_gch_ext_et_nrct with MIME type application/json"
Always was kind of slow but it stopped working on Chrome recently, just turning the wheel all the time.
Not working since the Chrome v73
Amazoan, can you update the app?
Does anyone have the correct link to report the broken extension under Chrome 73? Everything I see just wants to ask me pulldown questions until the problem no longer makes sense!
I may be wrong but it looks like Chrome 73 changes killed this extension functionality. Let's hope amazon takes some time and fix it soon.
Half the time it never sends the article, just goes round and round and round and never says anything or quits. Just goes nowhere. Not reliable.
It would be nice if it could support adding the item to a collection automatically. Also, it would be nice to select the target device when sending. I know this can be changed in settings, but sometimes I want to control the target device when I send the article, and going into the settings each time to check and set the target device is a hassle.
If this had support for a PDF opened in the browser, then it would be great ... thats probably 90% of when I need to use it .. instead i have to download it from chrome, then email it to myself
Being able to forward an article you want to read later to a kindle device certainly hugely improves the utility of kindle devices :) One star lost for some small deficiences (2019-01-04): * Cross-references within HTML pages are lost in the extension. (<a href="#anchor"> links). This problem does not occur, when using the "send to kindle" share option on mobile devices. * Document management falls short. You can easily remove documents from a device, but in order to remove them from the library, the web interface on amazon.de / amazon.com has to be used.
Does not work even with simplest PDF articles, this is useless.
The simplest way of transfering lectures to the devices. It is professional either.
I think I'll use this quite a bit, but I am most often viewing PDF articles such as research papers, and these don't seem to send. The "analyzing website" message goes around and around. Suggestions?
Was working fine, but recently, the documents being sent to my Kindle Paperwhite 3 is no longer compatible with custom fonts. Gives the error "An error occurred. If you purchased this item from Amazon, delete the item and download it from the Cloud" after a long wait. Please fix this.
Doesn't work. "Analyzing website" indefinitely, never sends to kindle. Pointless.
It's very easy to use. I prefer to read a long article on my tablet in the evening. This makes it so convenient.
it is very good and easy to use. thank you amazon.
I really use it a lot, I'm glad it's available. I get a lot of books from authors that to read and review and its helped me in that regard. The one I have installed on Desktop is perfect, I right click my mouse and it sends to my Amazon acct. I can't figure out how to do with my mouse on my Lap top if could I would give this extension five stars!
doesn't work
love it
I really like this--but for some websites--nytimes, which is a primary site I'm interested in reading from--it cuts many of the articles off short.
Somehow there seems to be a hotkey that activates this extension without me wanting to, and then not only do I lose what I was typing, but there's no way to go back. I checked and Chrome has no hotkey assigned to this extension, so it has to be something built in. If you are adding hotkeys to trigger this extension accidentally, then at least give an option to go back.
Appears to only support amazon.com!
used to work by just clicking K on bar but now even included in extension it doesn't work> What I need to do now?
Doesn't work if your account is with amazon.co.jp, amazon.ca, etc. Only allows login if your Kindle is tied to Amazon.com. Useless for 95% of the world.
Need support for Amazon India accounts (amazon.in) please!!
This extension is no longer working. The process of sending to Kindle looks the same and a success message is received but the article in the Kindle app is a WEB ERROR Message. I have tried to do this from my iPhone, iPad and Desktop and the end result is always the ERROR. This started happening after two Apple/iTunes updates ago. I have since rebooted all my devices, unloaded/reloaded the Kindle app to all my devices, and deinstalled/reinstalled the Send to Kindle extension for all devices. Each time the article result was the WEB ERROR Please help!!
I sent two articles to my kindle app, no luck. I also want to read my books on my Chrome Book. Not having luck there. I think I don't get the app. But... considering I'm pretty middle of the road w/ my tech abilities, this sucks. I don't think it's completely me.
it works great!
A great app but frustratingly inconsistent. My most recent error message (half of which I can't read because it hasn't been coded correctly) tells me to check my internet connection. Wonderful when it works. Buggy as hell.
It works well in general, but I lose a lot of images.
Stop working, just loops.
Worked very well but now refuses to deliver if your kindle device is registered with amazon.co.uk rather than amazon.com. The issue is amazon - of course!
Doesn't support Amazon.ca
Recently started looping on send to Kindle; material never reaches the device.
Love it, I use it mostly to read directly in Chrome, removes cluttery and allows me to read in dark view.
Doesn't play well with WordPress. Only the last part of the blog post is received by the Kindle, so I missed the first half of the article. As mentioned in other reviews, complex layouts trip it up. This needs work to be useful.
Options "Send to kindle" and "Preview and send" doesn't works.
Couldn't get it to work at all (using a Chromebook and trying to save to Kindle Cloud Reader, though selected a device it recognised. Other items from Amazon appear instantly, but nothing from this extension).
