Loved this. Used this since its first date. It got broken. Went to college. Took a Software Engineering degree. Came back and upgraded. Here is the upgraded version. "Load Unpacked" the folder after downloading and unzipping it into its own folder, then reloading it to run as usual. https://github.com/jamesEmerson112/spotitySpeedExtension/tree/james-vo
Downloaded and nothing changed, not on the app or website. Doesn't seem to work at all.

This fix works! if any of you are not as tech-savvy as I am not, here are some simple steps. download the folder from this link https://github.com/faf0/spotitySpeedExtension/tree/faf0/fix-issue-7 hit windows key + E to open file explorer and find the file in your downloads select the folder and extract the files to anywhere on your computer, just make sure you remember where go to chrome://extensions/ in the chrome browser hit load unpacked and select the extracted folder that's it, if you did it correctly, it will show up in your extensions I didn't know how to do any of this, so thank you to all the people above who did! credit to CharlieGBla ***4/8/22 New update:: Browser had a bad bug and had to reinstall and lost this extension's capability. Extension Was working before reinstallation. Now after using the previous instructions I get the following error:: "Manifest version 2 is deprecated, and support will be removed in 2023. Will not show up on my spotify...it doesn't work..there is no button next to the volume to change the speed. i have restarted my computer, closed things out, logged out and back in, etc etc etc...
Doesn't work. Couldn't get it to show any kind of speed controls, no matter how many times I reloaded Spotify/reopened Chrome.

Spotify updated their web player code just slightly enough to break the dial from being displayed, and the maker of this seems to be MIA. If you go to the GitHub, https://github.com/intOrfloat/spotitySpeedExtension/issues/7 here, someone made a fork of the code and fixed it. You can download the zip from them, unzip, go to Chrome Extensions, turn on Developer Mode at the top right, and Load Unpackaged Extension from that unzipped folder. It should work then.
As of 11/29 the Ext does not work. tried the GetHub file and still no bueno ** will change review if updated** >>SEARCH Global Speed here on the store>> their Ext works flawlessly

This extension is completely dead. Instead use "Global Speed", it is the best playback speed extension for spotify and other apps.

This was working for me, but today I tried it and it wouldn't adjust the playback speed. Maybe there's been an update to Spotify, which means this extension needs an update?

Used to work fine a few months ago. Now the option or field to change the playback speed doesnt appear anymore.

Hey, not working anymore (March 22), hope you guys can fix it. Worked until March 18.
Was using the extension everyday but within the last few days the extention no longer is on my spotify. If this is fixed it is easily a 5 star extention.

Worked for maybe 2 days? Now it doesn't show up no matter how many times I restart Spotify or the extension. Other than that it was a good speed changer, I would appreciate if this was fixed

I don't see how to adjust the pitch. I don't see the speed control by the Volume. I'm using the Spotify Webplayer.
It does what it needs to do but I wish it work on the app on my task bar :( but overall it is worth the time I like slowed songs or quick songs. I do recommend this but if you don't like the web version don't get this! Hope this helped -Fronkey Meek Essay

Thank goodness! FINALLY!!! Hahaha now I can make my songs sound like nightcore! Just make sure when using the extension that the Spotify App is not open or on your task bar.

It worked for mac chrome browser. You have to reload to get it to start. Make sure that you only have one tab of Spotify open or else it dosen't work. In case you are wondering, it works for podcasts and songs. Overall works perfect for my uses.
Simple and works, but note that I think you have to be logged in for it to work - not sure why but it didn't work for me until I logged in (can still be free account, just need to log in for some reason)
for me, did not work. Once you set a speed you can't change it without restarting the extension

It does work, so props for that. I was hoping to use it to slow down songs on my sleep playlist, but this extension, like most, tries to hold the pitch steady even when slowing a song down, which makes the audio unnatural and poor quality. It would be great if we could check and uncheck a box to hold the pitch.

This is so great! Allows you to change the playback tempo. May I ask, is there any chance of making it possible in a future update to do straightforward playback speed change without the pitch correction? I want to get that real vaporwave/nightcore feel! (If there's a way to do that already, please do let me know)

speeding up playback speed of podcasts !... can't believe spotify doesn't have this natively. that's just goofy.
So thankful I can speed up my podcasts!!! I actually can't stand them on normal speed anymore. This is a lifesaver.
I Can't Decide (Scissor Sisters) - At 105% sounds really great. For whatever reason, most people who make Tik Toks use this sound at that speed.

Ok..I'm sure this works....but I don't have the premium version of spotify...so yeah... The whole reason I want to get this is because it's Spooktober and Spooky Scar Skeletons originally is really slow and not at all like the meme version..I can't download the spead up version b/c copywrite (Youtube's a jerk) so I looked this thing up.... Ok Update: Now it works/ Don't know what they did, but now it works...that's dedication, actually changing your thing to help people, 10/10 recommend. Love it. Thanks so much ??

This works perfectly on my mac! Thank you so much!!! If you could create an app so this would work on iOs I would be in heaven. We teach dance and this is a life saver when we are teaching new dances. Sadly we usually only have access to phone or iPad when we teach so we are stuck with iTunes for now...
