Would have been a 5 star review, however they have gone completely scummy by forcing your new tab window to be startpage with no way of disabling it in the extension settings. Absolutely unacceptable. Privacy badger does not change your browser settings like that, and does the exact same thing. Maybe I can revisit this if they change it, but until then 1 star it is.

It's really good for disabling trackers from what it reports in its statistics, I don't know how to verify that it actually blocks trackers. The only annoying thing is that it forces omnibox searches to startpage, while I want to keep Google. Startpage search results are often irrelevant and not able to find what I'm looking for, also Startpage always uses the first 3-4 positions for placed ads, which is extremely annoying. I will not be continuing using this plugin.

Unfortunately does not block (or mask) fingerprints via canvas, webgl, fonts, audio, etc.
This extension works great and I love the privacy score. I was surprised to see how many trackers are on the sites that I use most often.
Absolutley love this extension. It's so clear what it's doing and how to enable and disable certain options. There is no setback in when surfing iy's only adding pretection and info about your websites.
Cool reports with privacy scores. I was terrified with the number of trackers and cookies blocked. After using this extension, the internet feels like a safe place again.
Love the 1-5 color coded ratings! Opens your eyes to how aggressive the tracking is on some of my frequently visited sites. Also enables me to utilize Chrome with a simple add on, vs using another browser to protect my privacy.

Great extension, however, it forces your browser search engine to be StartPage. So the extension is actually doing TWO things, one of which you were already able to do by yourself via the browser's settings mechanism. Now, this extension actually PREVENTS you from switching to an alternate search engine while still enjoying the benefits of web site scoring and tracking prevention. I was already using StartPage as my search, but have DuckDuckGo as my search engine selection so I can use all of it's ! shortcuts (e.g. !sp <search term> to go to StartPage, !gh to go to GitHub, !w <search> to go to Wikipedia, etc.). This extension stops me from doing that. Please separate these functions, StartPage, and let me pick my own search engine in the settings!

I very much like whole Startpage thing. Starting from just giving a privacy search feature to giving anonymous view feature and now privacy protection through extension. That's great. Keep it up!!!
Always feel like somebody's is watching you? Well, you'll know once you install this extension!! I'm not one to review products but this really impressed me enough to write something. It's easy to use and the privacy score is noted directly in the browser so I know immediately how safe the website is when visiting it!
Love to see how many trackers and cookies are getting blocked on various sites I visit. The privacy report feature that shows the total amount blocked is super cool. I definitely feel a lot safer browsing the web with this installed!

Kannte Startpage schon länger und nutze die Suchmaschine sehr häufig. Die neue Erweiterung ist super und leicht zu installieren. Sie stört nicht beim Surfen, die Seiten funktionieren vollständig. Es wird angezeigt, wie datenschutzfreundlich eine Webseite ist. Kann ich empfehlen!
Love that it automatically changes my default search engine to Startpage AND helps me block ads and tracking across the web. I feel a lot safer online using it. Plus i like having startpage as my default search engine because it's much simpler and no-nonsense. After using it for the past few days, I realized that a lotta the sites I was visiting got a low privacy score...yikes!
Recommend this for easy data protection. This extension builds on Privacy Badger's cookie and tracker blocking technology. The interface is clean and easy-to-use as well as lets me decide what level of protection I want for any website.
