It's amazing. Everything I have is still there, just it's helping remove plastic from the Ocean. I love all the mini games, search bar, and the shell count. I also love how you can change your background to almost anything!

This was an amazing feature for my device because when I do regular stuff, (ex. searching google) I can help save the ocean. In just two days, I took 50 bottles out of the ocean! And, this adds a much more happy background to google for me which is amazing because I can control what images it showcases. Additionally, in my shortcuts, they even include mini games for me to play which help take out bottles too! what an amazing feature this truly is! Help save the ocean!

Its amazing! The only thing is when I try to change the background to my own, it takes a while. I changed mine about 4 days ago and it still hasn't loaded. Overall good app and would recommend. Imagine how many marine life you are saving.

It's amazing, my only problem with it is that it doesn't work with opera GX (whether that's a problem with opera or ocean hero I'm not sure) other than that, it works just as well as crome with added benefits!

I really loved there purpose for it saving the ocean and wildlife is great. Tho overall id have to say it was a really bad experience, I kept getting so many issues with my browser an not loading and glitching out to the point I thought it was gonna crash my laptop! Not to mention whenever i tried to search something it just sent me to several different browsers instead of searching it up.

This is the best way to convince us humans to remove plastic bottles by opening tabs

Thank you for making this. I've always wanted to help the ocean with the plastic issue but wasn't ever sure how or where to get started. I'm so glad I found this cause not only could I help the ocean, I can do it by simply just opening a tab to watch YouTube. I've already told all my friends and most of family to join me in helping our Earth's oceans. Us humans have hurt this Earth so much, now it's time to bandaged up those wounds and make it as good as new. I know not every inch of plastic can be saved due the damage we've already caused, but if we can get enough people on board then it will make a huge difference. Those reading please join us in helping save our Earth cause Earth's oceans, and the sea creatures living in them deserve better.

this extension is such a creative and easy way to help get plastic out of the oceans! the mini games are so fun and the backgrounds are amazing! I love the little shell questions that come up sometimes as well. i do think that the surveys are excessive, and its weird how personal the questions are. I had to make the surveys stop popping up because the shells were so tempting. its a great extension and i highly recommend it, but avoid the surveys.

I tried asking if they did anything about cast off fishing lines, a well documented major source of ocean plastic. They avoided the question for three consecutive emails. Yes they donate to some ocean plastic collection, but they are a for profit company. There are better, more direct groups with their own search engine extensions.

I seen this as an ad on youtube and due to recent obsessions over a certain Pixar movie, I have been loving the ocean a lot more lately! I didn't hesitate to download this! I'm looking forward to helping our home and can't wait to share with my friends!

I like the concept and think it's great that OceanHero is saving the ocean. That said, it could definitely use some work. Half the time when I search for something, a random website pops up, and I never get to finish my search, so I end up having to use the Google search bar. Also, maybe keep the ads above the search bar. Putting ads on shortcuts is annoying. Shortcuts should also be moveable, like with Google.

Its great. The backgrounds are so adorable, and they even have a section with games. Playing my childhood favorites while saving the ocean is something i thought would never be possible. Using the ocean search engine is slightly annoying because the websites are auto filled, and you cannot delete the recommended site that are already in the box.

I love it and I love how we are helping save the ocean sum times I just add new tabs so I can collect more bottles and we can also just go pick up trash from the ocean are self we have lintel 2050 lets save the ocean.

Amazing and a good way to hel the ocean while doing daly tasks on the web.

I understand the purpose of this search engine is to help clean up plastic but in order for a search engine to be successful, it has to work. I can't actually use this search engine, it just shows me a blank page when i try to look up anything i would like to continue using this so please fix this issue!

I adore the extension but for some reason it hasn't been working for me lately

oh worked great for the first few weeks, but now whenever i try to look something up, i don't see my search results, and end up using google instead. how do i fix this? i don't want to remove it from chrome and erase everything i've done

Lemme give you some back story... I've always been an eco-conscious person. I try to walk whenever I can and use public transport if available. It's a small contribution to reducing my carbon footprint, but it's something that is simple and cost effective and benefits me more directly too - I know that the environment has a much larger impact on myself than I'd ever see or realise with my own two eyes when just looking at it, but in terms of how close the cost-reward appears, staying fitter and saving more money feels like it goes a long way and that's a great incentive. Nevertheless, with the emergence of the web and our reliance upon it brings greater costs to the environment (energy consumption) but also greater opportunities to connect and devise plans to mitigate our global carbon debt. For a long time I used Ecosia, a search engine that prides itself on how they dedicate their profits to planting trees. However, while supporting a great cause it has a marginal impact on my browsing habits. This was a year or two ago now, so I assume the search engine has improved greatly, but at the time multiple studies were showing that while Ecosia is an eco-centred search engine, Google themselves are also a very eco friendly company, relying almost totally on renewables to power their servers and technological developments. While Ecosia may be turning user traffic directly into trees, Google doesn't do a bad job at keeping their company carbon neutral. So I opted to use Google again. Then today I came across Ocean Hero. I was sceptical at first, because this isn't the first of its kind, and one of the flaws of Ecosia is that while it's a great example of easy it can be to help the environment, it almost had to remain small in terms of user-base to remain profitable (in terms of making costs of hosting the search engine neutral or being outweighed by the trees they can plant) as after a while, the running costs outweigh the benefits. So these kind of search engines are self-limiting. So why not continue using Google? Many of these eco-friendly search engines use Google's Search API, so you're getting the same results regardless of which search engine you use, and the main benefit of using something like Ecosia over Google is the fact that you know your searches are specifically going towards planting trees and that can feel a little more personalised - if you personally feel more concerned about the trees over a different ecological crisis - and that's totally okay, but overall Google still does some good for the environment and it saves yourself the hassle of finding the right search engine for you. Why Ocean Hero then, if there's no giant benefits of using a different search engine than Google? Well, you can still use Google. Ocean Hero isn't a search engine (although they do have a search engine that is entirely optional). I'm not sure what to call it, but it manages your new tabs - so if you open a new tab, boom, there's Ocean Hero. I NEVER look at anything in my 'new tab' page, so honestly I forget they even showcase your recent or commonly visited sites/pages, and what Ocean Hero does is replace a few of those links/sites with adverts and uses that to generate income to then support plastic clean ups to help reduce the plastic waste distributed into the oceans. Simple. Easy. Non-invasive. Also, marine animal backgrounds are a bonus. Psst, I've just discovered that you can use Ecosia with Ocean Hero. The search bar on the 'new tab' page can be changed to utilise a search engine of your choosing! Nifty.

I don't know if it's just me but the backgrounds on some of the tabs I open are a a little bit suspicious. Am I the only one? Some backgrounds just look kind of um, inappropriate.

I like this a lot. It doesn't get in the way, helps the ocean, and there are also minigames you can play to also help them get plastic out of the ocean. Very pretty too.

I highly recommend this. Saves the ocean and has a good system for shortcuts, bookmarks, and customizing new tabs and regular searches.

Great cause, find the games, backgrounds and tracking the bottles you helped pick up to be super cute and encouraging. Ads aren't annoying intrusive and you can just delete them if you want. Barely even notice I have the extension in as it hasn't really hindered my searches at all.

I really love this extension! I don't know why anyone would rate it lower than 5! I love knowing that when I open a tab, I'm saving the ocean! One cool suggestion: maybe make it so when you get to a certain milestone of bottles, (e.g., 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100) you can unlock something (like a new backgrounds for example). Keep on saving our Earth!

I like it, it cute and helps the ocean with out me doing anything but my everyday things. I don't need to go out of my way. Also you can change your wall paper back if you don't like it. It asked me if I wanted my old one as soon as I downloaded it. However I do like fishy.

Hi, I really liked this extension at first, but I had to uninstall it for a second to be able to download something and it wont let me uninstall it.

I love this! it helps animals and it's free! the only reason that I didn't want to use it was I didn't know you could change the wallpaper.

I love this glorious browser absolutely free not a scam, saves animals too per search. One problem, it saves your websites you previously went to but other then that overall greatest concept for a browser. Insane wallpapers too.

I love this because it helps the ocean which is important, however when I downloaded the Lite version it stopped showing my water bottle count. Does it still count them and just not show them? Thank you in advance if you answer. :)
