WHY DOES IT KEEP REINSTALLING ITSELF ??!! Avira makes them "pre-installing" extensions where they always re-install themselves when a new Chrome user profile is created. And then they DO NOT remove them when their antivirus is removed from the user system. Poor software management from their side.
I could not login into my.account because the SMS never received. There is no way to change you phone number or remove 2FA settings. There is no alternative choice to login into account without receiving SMS, so, you may lost all your data when you change your SIM card number. Further, no way to reach avira support. They disabled reply on their stupid youtube videos with no reason! Very bad service. I regret using avira password maanger. I started changes all my password from scratch, very painful and time-consuming process. Don't be their new victim. My email address is [email protected]
Every time, when it updated,it log out users & users need to sign in again. It's very annoying & makes it less secure (especially, outside of home, public networks). No one keeps master password with them all the time & it is useless in this situation. Users can't control its update (like firefox). It was my favorite password manager for years but because of this reason I am switching to other password manager. I will fill master password in another password manager instead of this one.
I am using it for a while now. Never faced any issues. Free account supports both web and mobile devices. What more do you need !!
avira automatically installs this along with 2 more extensions on all my chrome profiles without asking me its basically bloatware and not useful
There should be option for importing all passwords from LastPass and app for moble autologin....
Amazing. Its so helpful I save all my college E-mail accounts. But I don't recommend for personal accounts as the passwords are just one click away
Excellent replacement of lastpass which has become too expensive (I had premium). This works just as good, but I give it 4* because the chrome extension sometimes needs to be reloaded. This never happened with lastpass. Otherwise very recommendable.
I't good, but what would make it better would be the option to purge unused passwords rom the account without haveing to go through them one by one.
Best free password manager but slower than lastpass
Dude, this app is awesome! makes things easy and secure! A plus is that it is free.
installed on browser without permission
With this app my work become easier.
Works perfectly. I would definitely recommend this extension
This is a great extention, highly recommended for all that want to stay safe in business, and in personal life! - Lila
I have a paid subscription for Avira PW Manager and on my work PC, I have to continually remove the extension and reinstall it to get it to work. not very user friendly. I give it 3 stars because at home it works.
I was looking for a free yet multi-device password manager, and I like the workings of Avira. I also like that it has an in-built authenticator on mobile apps, meaning I could ditch my Google and MS Authenticator apps for a one stop single solution for passwords and security.
I experience some inconsistencies with usernames. Under the same domain name, Avira struggles to keep passwords segregated for sub domains. Avira fills in wrong username and password for sub domains when they belong to the same global domain name.
Really helpful! never let me down and always saves my passwords. 10/10 would recommend to everyone
Overall I love the product, it works great on my phone, on my desktop it only works half the time and half as well as it should
The best password manager!
Avira is an awesome Security Tool and a good and useful Password Manager. I don't need to remember any password other than my Avira Account Password.
Brilliant, it's a lifesaver. Would like an autolock of about eight hours though, three is too short and twenty-four too long.
Normally really good however today its logged me out and I can't log back in , keeps saying "Unknown error" Help ?
Great password manager. I haven't seen any that is as good.
it is good except every time i log onto online banking, it says my password is public and I change it but it still keeps giving same msg.
Avira PWM is an excellent replacement for LastPass, which limited severly the free tier functionality of their password manager to boost subscriptions. It's much better than BitWarden, has all premium functions of LastPass and other expensive products and it's free. Avira is stable and works as expected almost every time. I recommend it to everyone who wants premium functionality for free.
Its amzing and it works
An option to lock-up all the passwords on browser should be available as an option.
I love it! So easy use and its on mobile too!!!
I like it but it has some issues other than that I recommend it because im a person who cant remember my passwords and this was helpful!
I think I am satisfied. It gives enough functionality for a free usage. I was looking for it for long. I appreciate the developers and the company. I wish you a lot of success with this.
mixing up password and username between websites, if there is a i.d line it cant tell the different and you have to log in to the password manager and copy past the password and username manually
I love this app! Thank you!
I love it. Since, the free plan is useful for any personal user. Password generator and auto-fill in web is genius on computer. But in android it works, Ok. I also use bitwarden and lastpass. But I find Avira Password Manager more user friendly. Suggestion: Can you additional security feature for opening notes? While opening notes, person need to reenter master password or fingerprint unlock. This feather is available in bitwarden and lastpass. Thanks once again!
Brilliant app, works seamlessly and perfect everytime, love it
I cannot get the extension to import bitwarden.cvs It says so many passwords, zero imported
Bu kadar bilgi toplayıp ne yapıyor
Вполне годно и удобно. Помогает не держать кучу паролей в голове и это главное! + автозаполнение прокачанное, пока без вопросов.
The MOMENT this gets Firefox support back, I'll change my review to 5 stars. Otherwise it's a VERY capable password manager, and as my first, I can't see myself using any other Password Manager. I wish there was also a Desktop app, to use for gaming clients (Steam, Epic, Origin, etc) or any otherapp I might have a password for. That would really go a long way in making this a step above anything else.
For anyone like me who literally has over 100 online accounts (each with a unique password), this extension is essential! It's an excellent password manager! Not sure why there are so many 1 star reviews of this extension. I have used it for over a year, and I've never run into any problems at all. It's proven to be a great way to securely generate and store all of my passwords in an organized fashion. The "Security Status" tab and the addition of 2FA are nice features as well. Not to mention, the separate antivirus software packages that Avira offers are some of the highest-ranking in the world, and one of them is free! Wow, I'm reading a lot of the negative reviews of this extension and thinking, "Are there really this many ignoramuses in the world!?" It's saddening to see how many people are so quickly triggered by their own incompetence. This extension does not "install itself" and is completely and easily removable if you decide that you don't like it. I only have one design note or point of improvement. As of right now, the only option for 2FA is to add your phone number and authenticate via text message. It would be nice to see some other methods of authentication as well. Maybe this is already something like this in the works at Avira, I’m not sure. For example, if there was a 2FA option that utilized multi-factor hardware security keys, such as the Yubikey product line from Yubico, it would add a significant amount of extra security to the user’s account. Someone feel free to correct me if Avira already supports similar hardware security keys.
its good but when i go to protonvpn website and create account the text box is weird with this extension on i was typing the username and when i type a letter i have the click the box to type another letter
It Is Really Helpful Because A Lot Of Things If You Didn't Tried It Out So Go And Add It
After concerns around security I avoided Password Managers and tried to manually store passwords for 50+ websites from several years. Being a tech geek, I for one perform a thorough review of products that are available in the market and assess them on various parameters and share review with friends when the ask for recommendations. I was looking for a Password Manager this time and I had to do a thorough review across multiple aspects, features, etc. Security was no.1 priority as this application would store passwords of different sites. Although the Password Manager is lacking advanced features, it has got most essential features to secure you password information very securely and backup in an encrypted form on their servers; that means even Avira stores data on their servers in case I lose my phone, but they(or any hacker) CANNOT read them as it is encrypted with a key. It has good option of categorizing information by labelling them for quick access. Otherwise, it does not have customization of fields, for e.g.: if a website has additional login credentials like Customer ID, 4-digit PIN, etc. then I can't create a new field for these but this needs to be saved in the notes section. This PWM has a simple straight forward very easy to understand interface and also backs up your password details daily to their cloud servers. Great application, I liked it!
It is extremely helpful and secure considering I'm very forgetful. I'm glad it requests to update any passwords that appear to change, so I don't have to retype them in.
I would have given it a five star but it leaked my password. Overall conclusion: Good
was a lastpass user for many years until recently. i tried a lot of the free password managers but just wasn't able to like any as good as lastpass then i came across avira. i find it as easy to use as lp if not better, it fills forms easily and so far has not let me down. i even got it on my mobile and i even like it on that too. if your still looking for a lastpass alternative then give avira a try. i'm glad i tried it.
Works much better than Dashlane (which hogs resources and has lots of bugs). When you try to sync Avira Password Manager to another device, it automatically creates many, many fake logins to dig through (&$!#%!!) which are not in the original device. To delete these, you have to go through the Avira app (Same app as Avira Security). There's no way to get it done through the extension.
Awesome extension. Easy to handle, offers strong passwords and much more....One of the coolest password manager I have ever seen. Once again, Avira proved their worth ??. Thank you AVIRA :)
love Avira all together , wonderful software
Best extension ever!
For Pc its great password manager! 2 suggestions tho: - Add option to exclude certain characters from password generator since some website dont allow some of them it can be really troublesome sometimes -Android app works awfull, at least for me. Idk if it helps writing about it here but hey why not maybe someone can fix it :) Keep up the good work!
i saved my password from google.com this was amazing thanks avira and avg and not avast
Like it! However would like to choose whether it prompts me for saving a password or not. Also sadly and this is nothing to do with the extension, it doesn't pull through keychain passwords.
great app, works most of time.
This was pretty useful, tysm!!
honestly a life saver. i have so many passwords, i couldn't keep up with them if i tried. it's also nice that it generates passwords. definitely is as good as lasspass, but you can actually use the same account for more than one device. highly recommend.
I like this extension but I do have a complaint. Instead of offering my password for known urls - it always defaults to a password generator. It's kind of annoying and adds a lot of clicks that are unnecessary. Just offer to fill the correct password and if I decide to generate a new one, provide access to do that via the dialog.
Awesome little app! Works great! However, I would like to see Folders added to the app. I rather use folders instead of tags.
Super easy to use on web and phone...thanks
I am incredibly grateful that Avira gave us this app to use. It is the best password manager out there without all the bloat functions that come with their competitors. Avira Password Manager is also less than half the price for that it's competitors for the premium version. With full zero-knowledge-architecture. Thank you, Avira, for making this world a better place by giving us an amazing free solution too!
The best Password Manager. Easy to use, great Mobile App and Browser autofill experience, it comes with an Authenticator with linked site, really cool! To get the 5th star, you should improve the search box: it should search in Notes and Passwords. The current implementation forces the user to select first Notes or Password and the search just works in the selected one. Cheers.
1. it's supposed to suggest filling any login from in any subdomain or at least any pages of a subdomain of a site, whereas it loads only on the same exact saved url 2. loading of a saved login item from online vault instead of the local one takes extra time which is time consuming and impossible when offline 3. while imported saved url has colon after http, when clicking on login icon, the URL loads incorrectly as http://http//getpocket.com/l/ for several ones.
it's pretty good. but not a 5 star. keeps wanting to save my passwords over and over. but i've had a few it has not saved. thus i have to redo. either SAVE ALL or none. your choice. d
I really Love Avira password manager because even with the free version it will give you a lot of cool stuff like making passwords, making sure they are secure passwords. It is really good.
One of the fastest password manager.
best way handle multiple passwords and accounts at one place.
Good for remembering my passwords and helping me generate new ones, but every time I try to sign into the website with my master password, it just loops back to the unlock screen. I love Avira, and it works great, but I cant get into my password manager!
This is one of the best password manager that I have ever used!! I can easily log in and add notes to my password. Also, the security check-up is excellent. It also shows a number of days that is required for an hacker to crack my password, which is very unique and pleasant and, as a result, I can quickly change my password for protection. All I have to say is now I'm a big fan of Avira. Keep it up!! :)
always installed, even after removing it, it is still installed.please help. where should i report this??reported this for 3 times already or more but still installed on my computer. pls help!!!!
Really good and simple, modern but not hard to follow, very straight forward. All in all Awesome!!
ok
its REALLY convienient
I appreciate Avira's security & antivirus level. I have trusted Avira products for many years. I am testing Avira Password Manager, hope it will satisfy me.
good
It keeps crashing on Chrome 79.0.3945.123 (ChromeOS)
Amazing, and I mean flat-out AMAZING. I can get into my accounts easy-peasy with the auto-fill, and I can remember passwords on my computer and on a book!
The app was ok until it started throwing constant prompts at me to tell me iv been "pwned" and I need to install 1password which will auto alert me and let me generate new passwords if it ever happens again ...if I subscribe to it. Doing a "pwned " search on my email address in the field provided on the 1password website aparently confirmed that my email address had been "pwned". I tried a few other email addresses I have and they had not been pwned. I tried a hotmail account that doesnt even exist any more and its been pwned, a yahoo account that was made up and that had somehow been pwned, a gmail account I made up and that too had been pwned. In fact every time I put in a yahoo, hotmail or gmail account weather it was real or not it always said it had been pwned. Now I dont know about you lot but that just seems a bit scammy to me.
It autofills your login in info (username and password) for any sign on page you are visiting. So if someone steals your computer... they will be able to get into every single account you have a password saved to. I watched the help videos and read through the support pages.... they explain how to turn autofill on but it was always set to autofill in my experience with the app! If I can figure out how to turn the auto fill OFF and get the Avira icon off the login boxes then this app would be incredible. I want an app stores all my passwords for me instead of a notepad app. Ive had my phone stolen before and all of my accounts drained BECAUSE I had saved passwords using autofill features!! DONT USE AUTOFILL !!!
Best password manager ever
I can't imagine my browser without APM
On my home computer I have no issues whatsoever, works really great. However, on my work computer, I need to re-login every day (not only master password, but completely with my full account) I cannot find any setting that would log me out, or why this is happening. Unsure if it is a chrome issue or an extension issue, but because I don't have a pro product, I cannot request assistance.
Super handy tool. I thought about updating passwords for years but never did. I was using only few passwords across all my internet accounts. With Avira Password Manager I gradually change passwords to crazy difficult and unique to each account. I finally do what I was planning for years. The extension is very easy to use. The Andrioid app is user-friendly. Thank you.
I have to reset passwords for Apple and school/work accounts once in a while, and I have run out of passwords to remember a long time ago. This is such a life saver!
Awesome extension, i use the app on my phone as well but recently the extension only auto fills the password not the username or email. can you guys please fix this issue or tell me how i can? otherwise 5* .
awful. i want to get rid of it.
I hate this app. I want to uninstall it but I can't figure out how to remove it!!!
Turns itself off. Have to enter master password again. Could be related to date. Moved clock ahead one day and it turned ext off.
yaa its cool finally i find that auto fill easy
When it cooperates, it works flawlessly. When it doesn't cooperate, clicking any number of times doesn't do anything unless I disable it then re-enable it, then wait for a whole minute. 6 out of 10 times when I click on it it does nothing, and I have to wait for up to 5 minutes before it works again.
Usefull
Love it
As always 5 star.
Отлично. Не требует установки дополнительного приложения. Пароли подхватывает на лету. Работает стабильно. Развивайте проект. Успехов.
much better
This is a malicious extension that installs itself without my permission every time I create a new Chrome profile. There is no way to permanently remove it. It comes back. I've uninstalled the AVIRA antivirus last year but it's still hijacking the browser.
Installed automatically into my chrome months after I installed the Avira product. I understand it is a free add-on, but I chose what plugins and extensions I run ... not Avira. Go with a proper password solution if you need it. This is just junk.
GOOD WHEN ITS WORKING BAD WHEN U NEED IT WORKING AND IT IS NOT
It's a very useful. You know Avira's products, always quality guaranteed .
It saves my passwords and protects them. I can access them anywhere without anyone knowing that I did. Awesome
Just a pest! How can I remove it?
This makes life easier, plus - Avira is never done fine-tuning their products. Things get improved all the time, so anyone complaining should check back once in a while. When you use their products they let you fill out surveys, just be honest on them and give your opinions, that is how things get better. They need to know what their customers are thinking.
I would give this 0 stars if possible- b/c it's entirely unusable if you can't log into Avira. The issue with their password reset system is that when you get the email, input a new password (which it claims to accept), you can't login with that new password. Three times now I've tried only to be told this: "Seems like you entered your email address or password incorrectly." If they can't even run a functional password reset and maintain your credentials you JUST CREATED to let you login, avoid their password saving tool like the plague! The last thing anyone needs is a password saving tool that can't even manage its own password/login system!
FINALLY! I've been a fan and a happy customer of Avira's product range for quite a while now and am so happy this came out. Goodbye Lastpass!
There's no way back! Once you generate your first password you realize that the ones you have are not strong enough. Not to mention you'll never forget a password again.
I was using a lot of different passwords and I had hard time remembering all. Now I can use only one password and this extension alongside the app on my mobile will do all the remembering in a secure and safe way.
Thanks!
Must have app! saves me a lot of time.
