It does work, and works with custom fonts from your computer. To install a font on windows you double click on the file and click "install font" Unfortunately it is not very helpful for me, as I was looking to replace all Cyrillic with a handwritten script font and it only replaces undefined fonts. I have not seen it work on anything except for a few advertisements, and it does work on wikipedia The configuration menu is well done, and you can customize any script you would need or encounter side by side with other scripts Adding a font replace function would make this a 5 star extension.

Why he does not have Persian language? It has an "old Persian" language that does not snake for any page!! How can Persian language be added to it?

This is definitely what I was looking for. It allows me to set the default font settings for Japanese when the display language of Chrome is English.

Changing a single script's font size shouldn't also change the default.

Everything is great, but two things. I want to be able to use my own fonts, and more importantly, I want to be able to change color. I'm using a dark mode plugin and all my tab titles are unreadable.

I like this new Fonts Setting.

I don't know why the chinese(include traditional and simplified) didn't take effect. I changed all options from both these two types of font to Microsoft YaHei and clicked Apply Settings but after restart browser the fonts still display original fonts.

Love this extension. The only problem with this ext is, it seems to increase the size of some other HTML elements as well. Would be nice if it just increase the font size only. May be its just me because i am using 4K monitor and font size adj is not that easy in this type of monitor. But, over all great job!

As many others have said, it only works when the HTML in the website has already identified the language (by use of the "lang" attribute or other), a.k.a. it cannot, in real time, identify the language nor script itself. As someone who studies obscure writing systems and frequently uses Google Docs, this extension is near worthless.

It does not show sample texts for Arabic 'script'. Instead, it displays the usual latin text "The quick brown fox jumps whatever". No support for the genuine language of Allah? Absolutely unacceptable. I need a refund.

I've no idea what the screaming and slagging off about this Extension is all about, from some others. Admittedly, the basic settings are already in the depths of Chrome, but this gives quick access to them. Where it really kicks in for me and is a 'Must Have', is with Vivaldi Browser (Chrome based), as Font Settings are not user available in Vivaldi and this Extension brings them back. I have a Home Office with 3 iMacs, 1 MS Windows and 1 Linux and this Extension is on all of them, on Chrome and Vivaldi. On the 5k iMac, the resolution is so high, that the normal 16pt is way to small. This fixes that, by setting the default to 20pt and unlike the other extensions I've tried, this one still leaves the Manual Zoom available (e.g. Command and + or -). Brilliant, Thank you and keep it going.

i wish there was a choice to add custom fonts from your computer, like papyrus, or ciphers, i think this will greatly improve this

I do not understand the others. Great extension. Fonts on some websites will not change, as some fonts are fixed. I think that the font of Chrome tabs/bar should be changed from the Roboto font with this extension by choice.

I Can't Get it To Work

Disrupt UI all of the time, doesn't work by allowing users choosing what font to use on a given site/domain. Virtually useless to me. Uninstalled

I was able to install the .otf font in Windows 10, however even though after I installed Chrome Extension for it and specified it as the default font (for all kinds except fixed size), and even though I have the special "ring" button on Chrome toolbar (advanced font management extension too of course), I am unable to see any websites in this font. Frankly I am out of ideas about how to force displaying any website in this font, except one: fix this extension please and republish on Chrome Web Store, please.

THIS DIDN'T WORK AT ALL. I've tried a couple of times but it all turned out to be a total waste of time.

If you happen to find a website that hasn't already decided what font they are going to use, then this is the extension for you! But if you plan on finding something that will help with how Japanese is displayed on Facebook, Gmail, Youtube, Reddit, or pretty much any other popular website... have fun wasting 10 to 30 minutes on something that won't even show up!

Good but you can not set a custom font from a TTF or OTF file

I change fonts for emphasis as I need to gain the reader's attention.

I don't seem to be able to display forms as they are formatted.

Might just be that it is limited how much can be done within the confines of a Chrome extension, but this type of solution is needed.

Doesn't work completely. It merely changes all the script sizes despite the chosen one.

It'd be nice if this extension could look somewhere other than Windows' Fonts folder for fonts, since then we'd be able to use color emoji on Windows 7. (Windows 7 can't read color fonts, but Chrome can.)

It's a great start... The problem is that it takes control over the entire Font subdivision of the content control settings. When your application assumes control of a section of settings, it's secondary job is to speak for each of those options and make them more convenient and or accessible. if it leaves tools or options completely inaccessible that means that the project is not complete. If the creator says that it is complete then the fact is that the creator planned and executed an incomplete application. Still doesn't fulfill the job making it an incomplete app. edit: I forgot, My main focus it the lack of color options. charcoal font on "not-wwhite" background is hard for some to read and a simple hade black and white option for accessibility. Extra accessibility comes from an option to make text complementary to the background (since this app doesn't disable nor support background stuff I don't consider it the aps responsibility to include features for it.

Gives more customization than what is currently available on Vivaldi. With this I can now scale different font sizes accordingly.

For websites that do not specify a font for Japanese, the first character on every line is always MS Mincho no matter what I set in this. Fail.

This did precisely what it said it would. I'm not sure why it's getting negative reviews. Most of the users writing negative reviews seem to either A) want more features, which isn't a reason to give a lower rating, or B) don't understand the extension's description.

What exactly is advanced about this? It can't make websites not use disgusting fonts and that's all that matters.

This extension deserves a solid 2 stars 'cuz although it's a cool idea it Is Absolutely Lame! No actual Working Features and Performance is about the same. I see it did work here...and only here. hmmm and Not even Updated since 2014. Also, You Need to PAY ATTENTION I am Not seeing Answers to Any of the few posts I read!

Quite useless without the ability to set font size on a per-script basis. CJK characters are very hard to read on my laptop and it's a shame that this extension implies that it can make Han characters larger, even though it cannot.

I just want to make all Arabic fonts have a minimum size and leave all other fonts alone. Either this isn't possible with this extension or I just can't figure out how to do it after changing settings for a half hour trying to get it to work. On the plus side, I can easily make the font the size I need. I just have to change it back and forth when I switch from an Arabic page to an English page.

Didn't perform all the functions I had hoped. Additionally broke ctrl+a in chrome.

It takes me quite some time to finally get the page i am on to were i can view it o.k., And than my comp. starts running slow. So i go into clear my cacha :typo: and there i am.ether with a screen to small to read-or-so big that not all of the view can be seen.

I don't seem to be able to use fonts for Indic languages that I have installed locally. What's the point of this extension if I can't use the fonts I want for the languages I want?

Barely advanced compared to Chrome's basic settings. Doesn't allow for color options. Would like to change the colors of links I've visited so they're easily differentiated from the blue unvisited ones.

It doesn't work for Ethiopic on Chromium. The extension with the most useful idea I sought out is actually functionally useless. Unfortunate.

Extension is too restrictive. I want to be able to change font sizes on a per-script basis but this only allows one fonts size for all scripts. It also is too restrictive on when it activates. Rarely do websites match the conditions that this extension looks for. It should allow me to always overwrite the website's font settings, otherwise what's the point in letting me customise fonts if they aren't going to apply?

it wont change font ??????? fix now please it bad enough that google has limited apps so we cant go anywhere else to get what we need google is making it harder and harder to respect there work when i keep pulling up apps like this
