The overview page needs rewriting. I know I am not your audience but I don't have a clue what this is or what is Minimalist and google does not tell me

After first customization it changed the Gmail interface, but got stuck. no option to change definitions and to jump between the inner tabs.

Doesn't seem to work on the latest versions of Gmail and Chrome. Specifically, hiding the Google bar at the top of Gmail is broken. :'-(

TL;DR Dashboard button doesn't work and in general this doesn't do it's job. The dashboard button doesn't work because it opens a tab that says "my file may have been moved or deleted", so right clicking the extension and clicking "options" takes me to the dashboard. From there, I find a module for Gmail. I start ticking different things to try this out, but when I save the settings and open Gmail, nothing happens!

Does not work in the latest version of Chrome

I know how to code html css and little bit a java script was really looking forward to this but when i launched it it opened up little window and then went to create new module and it opened a page like a 404 not found error thought it was me so tried again same thing . Doesnt work 1 star.

The gmail module has many options and is easy to use.

Original: Totally love this extension. Gets rid of unsightly, redundant clutter, and allows me to depend on keyboard shortcuts should I need to access hidden elements. Am wondering and hoping that the dev will make some time for the Calendar module before too long... Thanks for this.

This did what I wanted: removed the ads in the far right column. I tried a couple of others made specifically to remove ads in Gmail and they did not! This one is perfect.

Cannot figure out how to set this up ANYWHERE on the Web - only very basic instructions and I am sick of reading the rave reviews and not being able to figure it out myself. It's really not cool there is not even a link on this Page to the REAL Website for this company who developed the extension. The link leads to a random page and does NOT work. Thanks, Kim

Not for muggles but with only a modest amount of web dev skills you can get things just the way you like. Excellent design too. A few bugs.

This is a fantastic extension, and from some reviews I see that its purpose isn't immediately clear to users. To explain succinctly, Minimalist combines custom stylesheets (like Stylish) and custom scripting (like Greasemonkey). Ideally, users add each modification as a separate option in their Minimalist modules. This allows other users to turn each adjustment on or off as they prefer, and to easily add and share new options in a way that does not tamper with the other users' settings. Minimalist is, I think, a natural evolution from and improvement upon other client-side scripting options. If it were easier to share modules, I think a lot more people would use it.

Awesome app! Works better than I expected!

Great App when it worked, but it doesn't seem to anymore. Looks like last update was 10 months ago. Look forward to it working again and giving 4 or 5 stars. The easy configurability and customization of the app is great. It helps gmail keep clean and neat, which is especially useful on laptops.

This is an awesome extension! I think I'm finally figuring this out with the module wildcard notation, and I'm quite happy, using inspectors to determine the element classes & ids that I can change to my liking. I had been wanting to widen the navigation listing of google calendars so that I could see the full calendar names. Worked wonders! The only issue is that the 'data' options do not work. In fact, they wipe out my settings even if attempting to upload. Same problem on multiple systems. I'd steer away from those options for the time being, apart from the 'repair core',which does work.

Glad to get rid of all the new Facebook 'features' they keep adding to justify paying their developers salaries. For optimum usage, probably requires CSS/JS skills (judging by many of the reviews complaining that it isn't updated. You can do that yourself)

Fantastic, wish I knew about this a long time ago!!!

Instead of filtering out content I added buttons to a website in order to export data from the page. Minimalist works perfectly by injecting the jscript code into the page. Thank you, Ansel!

If you want to hide the google header and bar from all of google's websites, just change the gmail-module's @includes field from *mail.google* to *google*.

Uh, where's the google calendar module? I'm not a coder, but extensions shouldn't demand coding experience.

Minimalist for GMail was great, and this is a perfect next step forward: one plugin and chose the modules you want. I did notice that the row highlighting doesn't seem to work properly. The highlighting of rows works, but the color scheme chosen don't push through to what shows up on the screen. (yes, I did select the box to activate particular row highlight). Other than that it's a great extension, and quite functional considering it's in Beta.

This is a must-have extension. If you want to cut out a section of a website that you just don't want to see anymore, all you need is a basic knowledge of JavaScript and you can write up a little module for the site. Unfortunately there aren't many modules available by default (Gmail is the only one now, actually) but as I said; if you know JS, you can do whatever you want.

holy smokes - within 1 minute I was able to fix multiple things that had been bothering me for years, and it provided me with a framework to throw in a line of css to fix another that didn't come out of the box.

Currently this extension causes/~ a Missing Gmail Search Box ... so for now it is disabled:)

I'd love to see an option to hide (make translucent) the Gmail labels background, so that they blend better with whatever theme is applied.

I have lost the ability in Minimalist to reduce the items on Gmail. It tells me that it has been downloaded to Gmail but i don't see the screens that I see on this page.....

I love this extension! I am able to customize my Gmail account and get rid of all of the fluff that comes with it. Definitely worth using and their should be more apps available for other sites!

I stopped using this last year when updates seemed to grind to a halt... So glad to see that it's moving along again, I love this extension! ^_^

Works great. A lot of customisation. One niggling thing though, I can't seem to "hide offline contacts" in the sidebar section. also if you remove some elements (like the google logo), the "lines" seem a bit off (not sure how to explain). But great extension nonetheless.

This is a great tool, and I love how I can customize things.More apps should be added, such as YouTube, Google Drive, Google homepage (maybe adding backgrounds should be a feature), etc. Overall the extension is great, but my settings don't sync whenever I go to a different computer. I have to re enter my settings, as my settings stay at home. Is there a way to sync settings, as it is not working for me?

great app. the latest update ver 0.6.3 seems to have eliminated the very useful visual aid for configuration. Wouldn't it be better for us to see what we are enabling/disabling in pictures rather than in words?

This only seems to work on gmail and reader at the moment, but gmail it certainly deals with well! Love it. If new modules for Google Drive etc. are added I will be very happy. Well-deserved donation already made.

One of the best extensions I've used. Very professional, clean interface with options that are clearly explained (and when you hover over them, it includes a screenshot of what it will change).

Love it. The image preview of all options is really useful. Can't wait to see something to allow sharing of modules and specific module options!

The developer hopes to have a fix out in June 2013 or earlier. He is currently studying and is graduating in early 2013. I hope you all understand.

Excellent in every way. The customization is simple, easy to understand, do and undo everything. Gmail experience was never as good as it is now for me. Not enough words to recommend.

I like it a lot -- although it doesn't "stick" -- requires being reset. It's great to not have to look at ads in gmail -- very nice!

LOVE what you've got here, and I honestly think calling it Minimalist is underselling it (oddly appropriate I suppose). What you've got here is an incredibly user-friendly userscript manager, and despite not being as compatible as something like Tampermonkey, I still find myself trying to install everything to Minimalist first due to the ease of use. Not to mention all of the fantastic settings it comes with. Once this is out of beta, especially if the compatibility improves, you could very well have THE must have chrome extension. So thanks!

I like it, and spent a lot of time tweaking colors in gmail just right, but I have one gripe... It seems like every time I load chrome, I have to disable and then re-enable the addon settings for it to work. Fix that, and you get 5 stars from me!

I love it. This app is not for basic users. If you know some CSS and how web pages are created, styled and delivered, this app is for you. I love this plug in because it does what it says it does. It minimizes everything (or anything you want). It is highly customize and personalize. My Gmail interface looks so clean with this little app :)

Love it! Got rid of many unwanted items on the Gmail page. Created custom options to get rid of the top ad [.mq { display: none; }] and "important" indicator [.WA { display: none; }].

Works great for gmail, gets rid of all that unnecessary clutter!
