I normally install android apps on my phone via Google Playstore app, but I've always been annoyed that if I need to put the same app on another phone, or if I need to do a factory reset on my phone, I have to go through the waste of cellularwidth / electricity to re-download the same app to install it again. I know, I know, back up your phone and all its apps to the Google Cloud, but I don't want to use the cloud to to do a back up, nor do I want to do a system back up to a file to reinstall, which is a bit of an overkill if I simply want to re-install an app. APK Downloader by Top Downloaders comes to fit my needs. I appreciate that Google Playstore still allows such an app for people to use, and gives folks like me that live out in the country, and have only cellular data for internet access as a way to install an app by downloading it as an apk first. I just installed this app today, February 1, 2023, and at first I didn't see it at the top bar in Chrome using Linux desktop. Then I clicked on that puzzle piece icon (extensions icon) and was able to have it show in the bar. Thank you Top Downloaders for this alternative to installing apps, across other devices, saving folks like me time and cellular datawidth.
