Great tool for YouTube summaries! Some feedback -please add support for longer videos to send the transcript to chatgpt in chunks at logical breaks in topics or chapters to summarize hour or longer videos. Maybe prefilter the transcript to remove ums. and ahs and double words/phrases to compact the transcript into fewer tokens. Just a suggestion but I'm sure your engineers can come up with a great solution for transcription for say this video for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5WZhCBRDpU
It is a very useful extension. If available, would love to use it on my ipad too!!!
This is a great plugin and a great companion to our Kurator plugin for Chrome. I use the social highlighter and the AI summary feature in glasp to save description for the links I save in Kurator. The ability to highlight what stands out to you on a page you want to curate and then use chatGPT to create a summary is brilliant.
This is my all in one text/quote saver for all websites (youtube, reddit, articles, tutorials). Would love to see a Firefox add-on version in the future.
Very good extension. Would be useful to see a popup with the notes when hovering over a highlight, similar to a feature available in a competitor extension
This is one of the most powerful replacement for a manual PKM system. Love it!
That is so good, but ... You should take a filter for only a domain name for watching on dashboard, or AUTO fill out a domain-name tag when highlight text on its website. Both take a search tag when it so many. Thank you. =))
The best Extension Ever Used, Highlighting at peaks. Kudos to developer for building awesome application.
I use this tool to as a method to open dialogue with city and state officials regarding misconduct in the capacity of a civil servant. Glasp has greatly improved my efficiency in digesting content online to create this dialogue as I no longer need to write my own prompts regarding misconduct, and I can instead use a template prompt saying "Please use this audio transcript to write an email to [city official]"
Very good APP
Lacks customization options, non responsive developer 1. popup highlighter area - so intrusive and no way to disable it permanent 2. no indicator that a webpage or a highlighted area has got notes - whats the point then?
How can I disable the popup highlighter area?
This is a potential app and can be even better if it supports highlighting images, LaTex texts or takes snapshot of selected region.
I used a Lex Friedman Podcast, but it doesnt summarize all... chat gpt says its too long.
everytime i click on the openai logo in youtube , it opens chatgpt in a new tab, and the chatgpt tab immediately closes. Fix this bug
Overall, it could be a 5 stars extension, but I’ll rate it as 2 for now. The reason is simple: I just want to use YouTube summary feature that works alongside with ChatGPT — that’s it. I like the mission behind the product, decentralization of the information is really crucial and important, however, I’m not a huge fan of making highlights and quotes, like at all. The second reason is that there is no way to disable highlights on text select by default — I do understand the convenience of this feature, but there should be a toggle off. Maybe I would make some highlights with this app if I wanted, but I don’t want to see a highlight popup every time I highlight/select text. Some might point out that you can, actually, disable highlight popup by turning off highlights for that specific page — however, again, it disables this feature at all. I want just to right click on every highlight and open popup manually, and that’s not an option right now. Also, you cannot disable highlights on all sites too — what if I want to enable highlights on specific sites? Well, the extension is new, so I guess it’s just beta testing, etc, but lack of such simple UX kinda strange.
Great extension. I have one suggestion Please please get it work to highlight local PDFs opened in browser. This will be a GAME changer, so a student can study a PDF book, do highlights, and the highlights automatically go to Glasp... I get this error: "Due to technical reasons, you cannot highlights on your local files"
This tool is amazing. It's useful, the owners are receptive to feedback, and they have a cool community of people who love learning in public and using their Glasp accounts to document their journey. I really appreciate this extension.
I use it for language learning, very very nice! Then I have all my words in on the main page, and I can go over them and review them. Super, SUPER cool!!!
Came from Weave after it became unusable after the last update... Some feature requests: - Private Notes. [Please, please, pretty please....] - Upvotes and Downvotes metrics on web pages, next to the webpage comment section. Theoretically, your product holds the potential to replace the now-dysfunctional Youtube Dislike Button... - Archiving. It does not help whether you have taken notes on a note platform or not if the original webpage itself gets taken down. Sure, archiving is expensive; running servers is expensive... Donations, or even a Paid subscription for Archiving feature might finance the deed... Perhaps, even better, self archival feature. The user should be able to locally download a snapshot of the webpages on which their notes exist in the HTML format (like the browsers' Save As feature). Over the years, if there's anything I've realized, then that is to never trust the free online web archiving services. Nothing matches the comfort and security that self hosting, and self archival guarantees.
I absilutly loved it! the first and maybe the only app to send highlights to readwise with website icons. all my highlightings will go from here now on
So lovely and simple. Wish we could customize colors of highlight or at least have a few more options. Love this app so much. Please keep it how it is, simple and beautiful :) they respond to bug reports so fast too.
Great add on, that helps me to organize my articles. Visually appealing profile and easy to use navigation to find my highlighted quotes and insights.
Best Highlighting Extension ever! Simple to use and beautiful design. Can't wait for when we can highlight certain parts of videos on YouTube. Will be a game changer.
Absolutely love Glasp! It's been a great way to curate what I read and show to others where my head is at. Especially after meeting new people for the first time, I've started to send them my Glasp to get to know me better!
I super love Glasp! It helps me to retain information from millions of articles in the internet through highlighting the most important word and phrases. And what I love the most about it is it's not just a digital highlighter, it has a learning community of like-minded people who learns, highlights, and take notes with you! =)
Finally a social media platform that got highlighting right. Not only does it offer me a repository of articles that I value and where my own highlights are stored, but I am also contributing to others who may find the articles I read and my highlights interesting. At the same time I am learning what others highlight in the subject matter areas that I am interested in. While the platform is still in beta, it already provides excellent value and the developers are responsive. Bravo The whole process of highlighting and sharing is made easy. It makes for a fluid workflow. I also applaud the developers for not only making a Chrome extension,. but already having a working Safari extension. Thank you Kazuki and Kei!
Glasp makes it easy for me to remember what I read and watch on a daily basis. The app is always ready to let me highlight the important passages and create notes. Exporting the higlights is as easy as using a one-click button to paste it to my Obsidian vault. Glasp not only has these features but it also functions as a community where you can see what your friends are reading and highlighting, so everyone can learn from each other. It takes the concept of "learning in public" to the next level. Highly recommended for life-long learners.
Glasp has been a lifesaver! It helps me quickly refer to important parts of articles I need to come back to for assignments as well as work. With it, I’ve been more organized and productive! I also often discover useful articles and resources that friends have been reading.
So many times I come across things I want to keep or share and inevitably something or someone distracts me - Glasp means that's not a problem anymore and I feel like I'm creating something of use to other likeminded people - handy and giving, a great combo and a flawless plug-in.
Where was Glasp when I was going through school & university :( I LOVE GLASP. The problem it solves for me is being able to frictionlessly capture notes & highlights on content that lives on the web. It serves as a form of quick capture, but also as a tool that encourages me to really deeply invest into reading & formulating my thoughts around the content I consume. So in a sense, it's solved a pain point I had re: quick capture of ideas, but also changed my behaviour such that if I come across a piece of content I find compelling, I will now invest more time into digesting that content because of Glasp - I'm just incentivised to do so, for the benefit of my future self (re-reading things I found interesting) and others in the Glasp community.
Super simple to use, integrates well and is overall a very interesting tool and useful for note taking/making and research as well as just some interest things you find fun to save for later! Well designed and a clean, straightforward experience. Awesome stuff, team! :)
Glasp has been a complete game changer for me. In a world with information overload and endless social media distractions, it’s been truly invaluable to find a place where I can learn from others and collect my own notes in an easy and accessible way. It’s been so important to my routine that I’ve now devoted 5-minutes each day to absorbing as much knowledge I can from my own Glasps and also peers who I follow and deeply respect.
Great tool ! I use it almost every day.
I enjoy using Glasp so much! It is a very effective and interactive learning tool! As a student, I resonate with Glasp's social vision which is to make knowledge collective. In the notes, for example, some users ask thought-provoking questions, connect personal experience with the articles, and mark down related ideas/concepts that they have learnt. Learning alone will miss out some parts but with the public notes and highlights features, I can learn from others and explore more ideas! I think it is amazing that I can also see what articles that other users have read. I find more articles that I enjoy reading! Glasp definitely makes learning more fun :)
I've been using Glasp for a few months now after a fellow technical writer recommended it to me. Glasp alleviates a significant pain point for me as a technical writer: keeping track of my source material in an efficient manner. Prior to Glasp, I used OneNote to organize the quotes and weblinks from my source material. It worked fine, but it was time consuming and tedious. Glasp automates this process and includes features such as tagging and an activity calendar to help keep things organized and easily accessible. Glasp is also an open social network, so you can easily find similar articles and people who are interested in the same topics. Glasp is a great tool for anyone who needs a curated, organized, and shareable information workspace.
I used Instapaper but ended up hating it and stopped. There just wasn't a tool for me to continue using until Glasp. I was hooked immediately for the ease of use (highlight directly on the article web page), organized feed, and learning from others' highlights and notes. It makes sticking to learning something so easy and you can no longer find any excuses. Highly recommended to anyone who loves reading awesome articles or want to start forming such habit.
Glasp has been a game changer when it comes to collecting and recalling notes. It helps turn the chaos of online reading into organized threads that are easy to follow. I especially love the community focus -- it's easy to get stuck in our own corners of the internet, but Glasp helps you find new writers and sites to follow. I also really enjoy the intuitive color highlighting and ability to add my thoughts to anything I highlight. By far the closest experience to analog reading and highlighting I've experienced yet.
I use Glasp to keep track of important informational tidbits that I normally wouldn't want to store in other note-taking apps like Notion or Keep. It makes work a lot easier since you can quickly browse through your highlighted clippings in a just a few clicks of a button! ;)
Glasp is the one tool that must be on your browser all the time if you are an online reader. The features they build, and the way the founders engage in building this product is amazing. I am super happy to be using this product and would 100 percent recommend it for everyone to install.
Love Glasp! As soon as I tried it I had to reach out to the team to tell them how well-designed I think it is. Well, turns out the team is as (user-)friendly as the product they're building, so no wonder they have a tight-knit community of users sharing exchanging ideas. I combine Glasp with Evernote and it helps me keep track of the things I read and discover new things that match my interests. Keep up the good work, team!
Love Glasp! Great way to keep track of my learning and also learn from others.
I absolutely love using Glasp. I typically have over 100 tabs open since I want to remember to go back to certain articles in the coming weeks but it gets so overwhelming. With Glasp I exit out of all my tabs after reading because I know exactly where to find my previous citations. Not to mention, I can refer my friends to them as well! Added bonus is that the UI is super fun!
I love Glasp! I use it when I read online articles. Highlighting with Glasp enforces me to actually read rather than scan through. I retain so much more info and can easily revisit my previously read articles to recall details and any notes I've made.
Glasp drastically reduces the time for notetaking for me. I needed a common platform to keep references and notes, where everyone could seamlessly collaborate. In any situation that requires collaboration, oftentimes, it acts as a reference's repository for our knowledge base. It allows me to keep my notes easily accessible to myself and across my teams. I’ve been using the tool religiously over the past 6 months and with Glasp, I’ve been able to keep my work more organized and productive. I use it every time I read anything online. Moreover, the Glasp community—even outside my inner team—allows me to explore what others are reading, helping me discover interesting new articles every day. Absolutely love discovering this new social network!
Glasp helps me reorganize findings/leave my thoughts from online articles. I also love that serendipity moment when I find inspiring notes from others which I would've never discovered by myself. Following people on Glasp and seeing what they are highlighting broaden your horizons!
Glasp is a must-have tool! It is highly useful and convenient, especially for people who read a lot! Its highlight function helps me organize and save important quotes. When I re-read them, I can just browse the systematically highlighted notes which saves me a lot of time! Since I listen to podcasts/TEDtalks a lot, I like the fact that Glasp can save them in a particular category called "Video" where I can write notes next to them. One more fantastic thing about Glasp is that other users can also read your notes and highlights, and it is a life-saver because you can just use limited time and gain the most insights from the articles (thats why even if you don't read a lot, you should still get Glasp!) I highly recommend it!!
As someone who has been following the GTD, Zettelkasten, PKM, Second Brain, zettelkasten ways of working, Glasp helped me shift from following to doing. It acts as a forcing function, motivating me to think through what stood out, why it stood out, and to categorize it according to what I'd be interested in learning more about. Also, Glasp lets me see other's highlights, which feels like following a bread crumb trail to interesting content and insights I wouldn't have normally come across. Glasp helps me curate thoughtful, provocative information, that I can build into my writing practice.
Love it. Using it to summarize the articles I'm reading for future reference and use color codes to help distinguish between different types of points.
As a student who mostly spend my time online and researching, Glasp has been a game changer for me. Not only it does collect information, store, and save important articles I've read, but it also helps me to discover and explore more wide-range of knowledge that is out of my scope. This web highlighter made reading easier and less hassle for me, as such I was able to analyze the context better not by just simply scanning the words; and thus properly reflect on the articles I've read afterwards through it's comments/notes option. Accordingly, Glasp served as a bridge into increasing my day-to-day productivity, as I continue to share my thoughts and opinions through insightful highlights with like-minded people.
Glasp is amazing. It's simple and easy yet so effective. I found it easy with glasp to highlight and save my important information as i can share my highlighted data with others and share knowledge.
Great tool, great social features, great team
This app is everything I ever needed on site hopping for research. I am OBSESSED. It has great features such as if you exit the website, your highlights still appear until you delete them. ALSO great variety of colors! Can tag stuff so its nice and organized. Whoever made this app is a genius.
I simply love Glasp! I read a lot of online articles and earlier I used to bookmark them for later but with Glasp I can make notes and revisit those notes to refresh what I found interesting. That's not all, Glasp also allows me to see what others are reading which helps me discover and read articles from multiple disciplines.
I'm so addicted to Glasp. When I saw thought provoking content and articles online in the past, I wished there was a way for me to highlight what resonates with me, share with friends, and remind myself over time. And I was finally able to do this with Glasp. It is extremely easy to use and meaningfully designed. I use everyday to highlight and share with people who find it useful. Thank you Glasp founders and team to bring this product alive <3
Organization is key in today's world with so much information to sort through each day. Glasp makes it easy to come back to information that I read on the web and organize that information effectively
Glasp makes it easy to pick up valuable knowledge. I have high hopes for the future. Go Glasp!
This is fun and useful! It's like Pinterest and Twitter give a baby.
The core value of Glasp is that you can easily come back to what matters to you anytime, and your learnings can be helpful for your peers, and vice versa.
I like the idea. Learning is a lonely process but with Glasp I can keep motivated myself and learn from other people who share similar interests.
I've used quite a few highlighter tools like Liner, Weava, hypothes.is, and Reader Mode, but Glasp is the most unique of all. I like that I can use it to highlight noteworthy things that I read, as well as see what other people are reading and what they think is remarkable about whatever they highlighted/read. I also really like the extension UI. It's clean, intuitive, and straight-forward. And I'm extremely picky about UIs. One feature I wish it had would be to have "personal" and "public" highlight :)
Glasp is a great highlighting tool to keep track of my thoughts and ideas. It's also fun learning from other like-minded people.
This is one of my favorite tools to keep what I resonate with while reading web articles and watching videos. I also find it very valuable to find useful content from like-minded people!
Glasp has been a life saver! I use this product to save important parts while I'm reading articles, watching YouTube videos and TED Talks, etc. Collecting says so much about who I am. It's interesting to know what information shapes who I am. The best part is that I can find useful content from the following people who have similar interests. I highly recommend Glasp if you're looking for tools to organize your ideas and thoughts and beautifully organize it!
Glasp has helped keep quotes, facts, and ideas from articles and videos necessary to my aspirations. But more importantly, you get to discover what other people with similar ambitions find essential in their lives. You learn so much from your peers.
Glasp is useful to organize my thoughts and ideas. I'd say this is a shared directory of collective wisdom!
Smart and clever tool in order to keep track of notes. Definitely recommended to anyone who is obsessed with knowledge management. Congrats to the glasp team!!!
It's enjoyable to learn from others' thoughts and Glasp helps it really well.
A great way to learn from what others find valuable!
It's one of my fav tool to collect my learnings. Fun to see others' collections as well!
Fun to see what others learn from an article and steal their learning.
