This is a beautiful extension. I can create docs, sheets, etc on my school account with 2 clicks. I am in love.

creates new documents on my personal google account even when I am logged into my school account. super annoying and cannot find any information on where to fix this

I loved this extension until it started saving all my newly created docs and slides to my home Google account rather than my work Google account (I'm a teacher). I cannot figure out in settings how to get it to go back to saving to my school account. Prior to a week ago, it always worked fine saving to my work account. Can anyone help with this?

This extension WOULD be great. I have two google accounts (work and personal). No matter what I do, I can't use this extension on my work account. If I'm logged into my work account, when I try to create a new doc, it creates the doc from my personal account. Sometimes I don't notice until I'm searching for the doc later. So frustrating.

SUCH A GOOD ESSENTIAL EXTENSION! Only challenge I have is wanting to be able to choose what Google Drive to actually open a new file for and not seeing an option for doing that.

+ Did as advertised. I now use: http://doc.new http://sheet.new http://form.new etc. they do the same, without the need to install an extension Please add offline doc creation so I use this extension again.

so i wanted an extension which would let me open docs on the go and yes this just does that.

I saw a comment that said the positive reviews were all fake because her system or browser kept crashing. I've had no such problems. Like the saying goes, "it works as advertised!" I've had no problems. The only thing I did have to do was to download the Google program Backup And Sync to make things a little more convenient for the way I work; but it isn't necessary to make this extension work exactly like it says it will. Job well done to the creator of this extension. Google used to make an application for Chrome that would do the exact same thing but I can't find it anywhere. I gave this extension a try and as an extension (instead of a Chrome application), it's even faster to get to work.

Love the idea, but for some reason the new spreadsheets open with a different account to the 'Google Apps Account (corporate, educational)' account I configured it to work with. Other types work just fine.

Great add on.......works perfect.

It's good, it's quick, it works… but it would be better if you could optionally choose a folder to create the doc/sheet inside. I have to drag things about to get them in the right folders afterwards.

As I'm typing the cursor moves at least two characters to the left of what I've already typed. It creates spaces that I don't want and when I try to delete the spaces I need to move several spaces to the left and hit delete in the middle of a word I've already typed. I CAN'T USE IT. What's going on and how can someone fix it?

This is a fantastic extension. I use it all the time.

I dont like it because it keeps crashing my page! I can't believe that I believed that these fake comments were real. I really want this deleted off my computer. THIS APP SUCKS.

Google Doc is the best way to write what you want wherever you want

Need to write a lot of information? Google Docs Quick Create is just the way to go!

Need to have inprovement not satisfied by its performance. Slow and not steady. Should work in low internet speed, and should more satisfaction to the user.

This a a god and handy tool, but I found that nothing I created using it would actually save so I coudn't come back and find any of the stuff I created using the extension. Other than that though this is a great tool and as soon as that problem is gone I would reccommend this to anyone.

Love the convenience! Works exactly as needed. One wish - would like the browser icon to look different. As it is, Google Drive New Tab extension has the exact same icon.

very useful, simple - could do with better spacing/alignment in the dropdown

I would also like to see at the bottom of the menu the last 3-4 documents you opened and at the very bottom a link to Google Drive.

Awesome, so useful to add shortcuts in the Chrome settings to for a shortcut to create one. Only thing I would ask is the ability to choose a format with a shortcut too, so choose to create a document by pressing a letter. For example, I have alt-shift-n set to bring the extension up, so some way to choose to create a document or something without needing to click one, to save time.

When pinned to the shelf in a Chromebook it only opens the option page when clicked. I need an app that allows you to create docs right from the Chromebook desktop.

Meh.

Can't believe I haven't been using this for years. Simple and does what it says reliably, can't ask for more. It takes too many clicks (especially as a multi-Google Account user) to start a new doc and jot some things down. This fixes that in 15 seconds.

It's good and works just how it's advertised, but could use improvements. I'm not a fan of the icon seeing how this is for Google Docs, and the icon is Google Drive. I would expect something more like the Office extension seeing this because there you can also open files. It's also tricky to know which account I'm connected to.

I like this, but it would be better if I could choose there and then in which folder to create the doc. Also, get another icon; I've already got an app with this one. Just put a N on it (for New) or allow me to change it.

Feature request: adding a "recents" list, so that in addition to being able to quick create documents, you can quick open documents you have recently viewed

Easy access for creating documents...not sure how much I will use it based on the very easy access (on a chrome book) in general, but i'll give it a go.

This really helps me, because it's so much easier than having to constantly go to google drive, click "Create," then click "Document." And it works just fine, no problems. Great app!

This is awesome. Here is one way to make it better. Have it create a document from what is in the current clipboard, based on a user selected option of course. You should try to replace functionality of the unfortunate removal by Google of the "Create Doc From Email" in Gmail, which was a HUGE mistake by Google, and a great niche for you to fill. Also, the icon should be changed to help differentiate it from the the standard Google Drive icon. Regardless, the extension is great as-is. Thanks!!! -- Mark Kamoski
