IT'S OK, 7 mb, but learning to use ublock origin instead
Running / 090423 .
It doesn't work? Not sure where the positive reviews are coming from.
Was a decent blocker until recently when it started to push for its Pro features. Poper Blocker's own ad replaced some of the normal ads and it was starkly showing on my dark mode browser, making it way more intrusive than the ads it was supposed to block.
was a 5/5 blocker till yesterday, something changed over night that just completely broke this, pop-up ads, pop-up video players, those hidden buttons that opens up a new spam page when you click on the website blank parts, all these stuff that I downloaded this extension to block, and which it was blocking just fine up to yesterday is suddenly everywhere today, what happened
The pro subscription does not actually work. Redirects are happening as usual, pop-ups are usual and sometimes redirects happens on the same tab when it used to create a new tab prior to the subscription pro.
it's vary effective and easy to apply ...
Rubbish, doesn't block anything at all and created its own "review us" pop up.
The latest version blocks the browser from downloading files, I need a fix to this
doesn't help with free version. only 50% are blocked
Doesn't block a single popup and creates it's own. Removed!
Scam! They charged $20 that I never authorized, and the customer support button always has a server error. It also doesn't block most popups.
Latest version 6.1.1 is locking out control of site notifications. Even with notification blocking turned off globally, it is still blocking the ability to enable/disable notifications on a site specific basis. Yes, I refreshed the page after chaning the setting. Disabling the addon cleared up the problem, but only while it's disabled. Turning it back on brings back the problem. Also, while I understand everyone needs to make a few bucks to pay the bills. AD blocking behind a Pro paywall is dissapointing.
It worked for a few months of websites I used to watch southpark but now it does not work anymore. I didnt touch any settings it just stopped working. is their a fix for this?
This pop-up blocker stopped annoying redirects to virus websites and made it safe to browse ??? Honestly, I didn't expect this to work but 10/10!!
It did not block a single bloody popup
Used to be good but now they are collecting data (Web history, The list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated data such as page title and time of visit) trying to sell the Pro version by making it distractive and flashy... "Very good extension and work very well on most websites and popup tricks."
used to be okay but it is now putting ads on my pages to try and sell their pro features thereby rendering it annoying and becoming useless, not too far from removing it permanently now
use to be good until they add so much stupid feature
It was a very good pop up blocker up until recently. It blocks some downloads which is fine, the issue is that when I whitelist a site it doesn't seem to work. In a previous iteration it used to have a list of all the popups that were blocked, so even if there was a page or download you wanted that got blocked, you could click on it to open it. I miss that feature because now when it blocks stuff I want to open I can't make it stop outside of removing the extension. Please fix this or I will find something else.
I was happy to use it but now I have those annoying facebook "pro" things. What's the matter of having something that filter out annoying stuff, that pops up annoying stuff? If this isn't changing in a while I'm going to remove this addon, sorry
Turns into nag ware for it's "pro", that are more of an annoyance than the popups that it blocks. Not to mention that the default settings interfered with some of my banking functions. I'm pulling it off my computer now!
Dont block the pop ups
This forum site popup is not blocked: https://forums.s*cialmediagirls.com/ (* is o), please consider to solve this. Thanks in advance!
Very Nice I Like I gib 5€ for 1 month premium, u deserve the moniesesy.
It use to work great but starting to notice more and more popups
Blocks downloads too. I guess this is a good thing, but only if it immediately allows the downloads when you turn the blocker off, but nope, continues blocking them forcing me to reload the page, and lose my download. So yeah, I'm pissed.
Very good it been helpful a lot
https://moviesjoy.to/home is a site your pop up blocker don't block pop ups on. Maybe if you fix that i can give you 5 stars
Didn't block any pop ups, and it made more! Kept redirecting me to it's site well trying to use my web browser.
It used to be really good however, over the past year or so it stopped blocking a lot of pop-ups. I have to manually remove pop-ups and overlays constantly.
As I said long ago(beginning of 2019), as far as I tried pop ups blockers this is by far the easiest to use, clean, fast and doing a great job at it, even if it didn't (happens) u can easily manually do it once and it gone forever. So yes 5 stars.
It can block basic and regular pop-ups, but the more advanced and troublesome pop-ups slip by it. It's unfortunate, since the ones that get by are the stuff like inappropriate game ads and scam offers.
Good while working. It works great for certain period of times, after that it starded not working automatically, having to load it manually evrytime.
DUDE THE BEST POP UP BLOCKER!
Hilarious the way this company advertises itself as an app that prevents popups and annoyances and then, in their thirst for money, turns into the number 1 leading cause of popups and annoyances on my computer. I'm gonna uninstall the hell out of this thing.
i really liked this, it works smoothly and has a user freindly gui, easy to block specific popups. Very recommended to use
Infuriating that this is now my biggest source of pop-up. I've given it about half a year now waiting for the devs to "look into" removing this "feature". I'm done and this is uninstalled.
So good.
so good
Good app. Works well, easily removes overlays and blocks annoying pop ups. Had an issue with getting the upgraded version working and support replied promptly and helped sort it out. So free or Upgraded, worth a go.
Used to be good, but now it keeps showing pop ups by itself to promote cookie messages blocking. Bruh. Beyond annoying and completely defeats its sole purpose. Uninstalled.
For a popup blocker.. it does a pretty good job of POPPING UP ITSELF... This app is becoming annoying af, presenting itself on all your social media feeds for no reason.
great. would be even better if this could block FACEBOOK ads.
I hove no words to explain. Simply Excellent
I am not paying $19.08 for something that I didn't eveen know was installed. It does nothing, and then they slam a charge on you without any warning. They know that nobody would pay even a dime for an app that quietly sits doing nothing. Google, this extension does not belong on the web store.
This is garbage. It's basically an addon that does NOTHING. Don't bother prolly data scraper or browser hijacker. Reported
What's with the snowflakes and flying reindeer on the settings page? What is the purpose of implementing a completely useless and highly distracting "feature" like this? What is the purpose of forcing it on users, without a means of disabling it (that doesn't require using Developer Tools)? If the goal is to annoy and frustrate, then mission accomplished. In fact, I'm so annoyed and frustrated that I'm going to delete the extension and use one of the countless alternatives. But not before first leaving this review, to highlight just how stupid and pointless and annoying that confetti is. "A distraction-free browsing experience starts today." Ha.
Imagine a pop up blocker that constantly displays its own pop ups trying to sell you some stupid subscription service...oh wait, that's literally this extension.
Gets you hooked, only to go paid, not even donation based. Will have to find a altertative.
It creates it's own popup ads trying to constantly upsell you, so.... uh, what's the point???
it was working fine but now it come back it it dosent block the pop ad
what a shame it swapped to a paid model; there are a ton of alternatives so i have to uninstall there's nothing unique here.
It was great while it lasted. I understand why they'd want to move this to a subscription model, but it doesn't do anything it advertises itself to do unless you pay money. Not worth it. Uninstalled.
Used to be the best, until they made what they supposed to blocked. and no, clicking X on your ads does not remove it, it keep showing. Anyway thank you for your work for years, just change bit your revenue style.
New review: As everyone can see from my last review, I realy liked this piece of software. Now I have removed it from my browser, it started doing exactly the oposite of what it should do, started showing pop-ups recently and overlays on social media sites. Searching for alternatives, this one is best left alone. Old review: Working as described, had no problems with it. Keep up good work! :)
It was good while it lasted but I am going to have to remove it. 1.) Intrusive popup ads (precisely what anyone who installs this is seeking to avoid, ironically) from the extension itself begging you to upgrade, something I actually would have seriously considered had they not started shoving it down my throat, and 2.) poor performance - my browser DOM now hangs for 1-2 seconds after loading certain webpages on several sites (probably ones with blocked popups). Perhaps something in the code could be done more efficiently...
The big overlay on social media platform is runing the experience.
Like many others here, I used this app for years without any issue and all of a sudden when trying to browse pages such as Facebook there is a huge beige overlay taking up the entire screen that cannot be removed. Shame that the app now needs to be a money grab. Installed it again just to review and uninstall once more. Hope you can fix this as it seems to be a common theme across the board now.
I can tolerate a few self-promotion ads but the Facebook self promotions are absurd. If I click the x to close it, my page refreshes so I lose my current feed. Now there's a bug where the self-promotion overlay covers the entire feed instead of one ad.
Like many folks has reported, I happily used this extension for years and it was great. Recently that changed and every 3-4 facebook posts and on several other sites I got pop ups asking me to subscribe, and now the pop up has malfunctioned and wrecked the ability to see facebook, you only see the ad. This doesn't exactly instill confidence that this is a well functioning app that one would want to pay a monthly subscription for.
This used to be a great app. Now it has essentially hijacked my Facebook feed, rendering it completely useless. Whereas I used to be able to just click the X and go on with my scrolling, now the clicking the X does absolutely nothing, and as of this morning, no X is visible and one large yellow overlay is across my entire feed. I'm sorry, but I supported you for years and now this I must move on to a different extension. I hope to return in the future if your mistakes are corrected.
genuinely loved this extension before the new update. i don't mind it as much on twitter when i can just click the x to close the highlighted ad, but that doesn't work on facebook. no matter how many times you click the x, it makes facebook unscrollable.
Used to be really good. Used it for years. When they went to paid model, I didnt mind the small inserts in the social media feed advertising their product. (ironic tho) but then they made facebook literally un-scrollable without clicking the free trial button and now i'm uninstalling it.
AWESOME!! I watch *cough*free*cough* movies online and AdBlock Plus never took care of the video's automatic popup ads but this extension does. Finally a pop up blocker to make sure those types of pop ups doesn't sneak up on my screen. THANK YOU! 2023 update: It now wants me to pay a monthly or yearly fee and it hides my Facebook feed with a large yellow block until I choose free trial or sign up. So that just put you guys to 1 star for me. Do better. I'll stick with F.B. Purity.
How ironic you have became the very thing you swore to stop. I could tolerate you monetize it. But now, you're going a little too far by inserting your ads into the social media page to advertise your premium ad blocking feature. Sorry but no thank you, I have other extension for adblocking, no need yours. Worse, your ads injection is so buggy, it turned a huge portion of the webpage beyond what the screen can show into an empty orange void. While I can easily circumvent this, I'm not so sure about other users, so let this review be the warning to those attempt to use this extension. They need to know what they are getting.
They changed it from a free model, to paid subscription service. No longer worth using. Highly dissapointed.
This extension wants MONEY. They actually want you to PAY MONEY to block pop ups. And, even worse, IT'S A SUBSCRIPTION MODEL. Horrible product. Do not install.
I was using this to block pop ups. Now when surfing social sites they HIGHLIGHT ads and "offer" to remove if I pay. Total BS and uninstalling and NEVER recommending to anyone that is looking for a free blocker
self-promotion overlay is too absurd!!
I came here to let everyone know not to download this extension because it's started showing it's own popup ads.. but it seems like everyone else beat me to it lol Don't download it - it used to be an incredible extension. I used it for years. But now it self-advertises on some websites, begging you to buy its premium version. Which kinda defeats the original purpose lol It's also started not to work properly and lets popups through more often than it should. Another money-hungry freemium service. Skip it. Chrome's internal popup blocker actually works really well. Or just use uBlock Origin. ***also, this company not addressing the legitimate issue of annoying self-promotion and just copy-pasting a condescending response is also pretty telling...***
Now generates its own popups as well as injects ads in to websites like twitter in order to encourage you to pay for their pro service and defeating the purpose of the plugin to begin with.
They ruined it :)
They propose that you pay 1.59$ monthly or 19.08$ yearly for Pro version. I installed the free version because I was looking for something that can block cookies notifications, Nothing works the extension didn't block anything ? ?
This once great extension is now trash tier. It actually generates more adds, popups and nagging annoyances than it was installed to prevent. The devs response to all these issues (of their own making) seems to be "Pay Us Money", which is probably on the more stupid end of the scale when it comes to responses. Way to destroy your own product with your own greed. I wish I could give this zero stars its that egregiously bad. Uninstalled for life.
Injects its own ads into webpages.
injected ads. lol
what a shame. a once perfect plugin now riddled with it's own adverts. I have an ad blocker for ad blocking. It pains me to remove it but I shall
Recent updates added popups and ads for the extension in your twitter feed and in small corner popups. Whats the point of having a popup blocker thats going to give me popups? Please allow users to opt out of this disgusting behavior or I will find another popup blocking extension. Its like if adblock were to put ads into your webpages, makes no sense. Please shape up and get better.
When I first instaled this extencion it worked great, blocking most pop-ups, it still does that, but as many before me have pointed out it now creates their own pop-ups. Has Poper Blocker also have pointed out their base feature of blocking pop-ups has remained free and still works, NO Poper Blocker when you are creating your own pop-ups you are not blocking pop-ups therefore it is not free to block pop-ups. The default pop-up blocker in Chrome is now advance enough to block most pop-ups, if you need smothing more powerful give Popup Blocker (strict) a try. For more privacy focused experience I would recomend switching to Brave Browser, it is build on top o Chrome so anything you do on chrome you can do in Brave but you don't ever need any Ad or pop-up blocker.
The extension that promises to remove annoying distractions has now become the most annoying distraction on my browser! Constant pop ups of it's own pushing the PRO version, the worst of which is the one creating a huge yellow block around facebook ads that fills the screen. Not even going to attempt to turn this feature off, I'm removing the extension. Nice work Poper Blocker!
I used this for a long time, I even tried giving it the benefit with the cookie pop ups. But it's gotten so irritating and you can't even make the cookie pop up from the extension itself go away for very long before it comes back! It's premium package is just blocking cookie messages which might cause websites to crash cause you're not enabling functional cookies and then blocking ads on social media. Thanks bud but I already have an adblocker and I don't have to pay for it.
They became what they swore to destroy. All it does is make its own pop-ups to advertise their "pro/premium" version. (Very intrusive and annoying) This is disappointing because it was good before the update.
A year ago it worked beautifully - Now it is a pop up generator spamming you with recommendations to purchase the pro version. Bye people - Where is that uninstall button?
Generates its own popups and ads, thus defeating its purpose.
A year ago this used to work great, now all it does is generate endless pop ups itself. It begs for money, offers to block cookies for you but if you click yes it redirects you to their site asking you to pay for that service, etc. Got a message today that my "free trial" expired so it would stop blocking altogether unless I paid for it? Absolutely avoid this one and save yourself the headache. Also GOOGLE you need to fix this issue where I have to install the extension to write a review about it. If something is malicious and I uninstall it I should still be able to write a review about my experience without having to reinstall. You obviously have a record of me using the extension regardless whether or not it is installed currently.
Will not begin paying for something that's been free for years, goodbye going to another extension.
Now monetized and spams you with more ads then it blocks - avoid
Instead of blocking popup, it show more other stupid popup. 1 star.
Wrong extension to monetize. Good riddance to trash.
This used to be decent, but now generates more popups than it blocks. EVERY page you visit and EVERY time you refresh a page, it will have pop-ups for things that this company sells. It doesn't even block most of the normal pop-ups anymore. This app is now TOTALLY false advertising. I have removed it from my Chrome and have less ads & pop-ups without it -.-
Suddenly monetized. goodbye.
It is now a pop-up spawner. You get extra pop up if you install it.
A pop-up blocker that creates its own pop-ups - genius. I do not want premium, I do not want pop-ups. Don't ask me to try premium, it's not happening. This has now become the most irritating extension there is. Goodbye.
I used to love it as it really helped to block pop ups but now it just creates them and adds extra ads, especially on social media, ridiculous. I'll be looking into an alternative. I think they missed the point of their product here...
I used to like this extension but am forced to go find another one after one too many "buy Premium" pop-ups.
Used to be a useful extension. These days it creates many more pop-ups than it actually blocks. Stick to uBlock Origin and Chrome's built-in pop-up blocking, it works just fine. Try "Popup Blocker (strict)" if a particular site has any intrusive pop-ups.
this WAS a good extension at one point.. until they started shoving these dumb little ads in your face screaming "buy me, buy me!!!!" what's the point of a pop up blocker if it's just going to advertise itself to you lmao. what a waste. you can see other people are also complaining of this new """feature""" that they've decided to add, and instead of taking this feedback into account and thinking "hm maybe we should remove that kind of thing," they just double down and go "well our extension is free to use, we just have a Premium Package that offers even more services" as if that was even the point in the first place. way to deflect and ignore the feedback you're getting just because you want to milk money from the people who are using this extension - which is real rich considering what the intial /point/ of the extension was for anyway. you'd think the creators would understand but nope! keep begging for money and pissing your users off lol
PEAK IRONY: a popup blocker that slams your face with its own popups! An Extension that adds their (buy us) popup to your day every now and then.. no option to turn off this behavior. gladly removing it right now!
an option to turn off the premium nags would be nice, but you'd probably lock that behind a paywall too. the moment you monetized this extension, it became trash. shame on you. we deserve better than having a bunch of greedy people beg for our money like an overprivileged white child.
I was extremely disappointed with this popup blocker. Despite claiming to block all popups, it actually doesn't block any ads unless you pay for the pro version. What a ripoff! I don't mind paying for a good product, but this one is just a scam. The free version is completely useless. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this one. There are plenty of other popup blockers out there that actually do what they promise.
It generates additional popups instead of blocking them
Was great, but recently getting more ads from the ad blocker than I am from anywhere else. The annoying "Ready to remove all ads?" is, by FAR, the most common ad I'm getting lately. Time to search for an alternative. :(
Used to be great, but now it has its own popups that are just as annoying as the ones it's supposed to be blocking making it useless. Gonna look for another blocker.
I love this popup blocker ive been using it for years and i havent gone through any inconveniences amazing extension
Breaks websites and then they won't work even after you disable the extension. Especially typeform quizes. Terrible
it used to work well. This free version doesn't block any popups, but the icon keeps showing fake numbers.
Making people pay for your service is like the websites we go to asking us to pay them to not have ads. I refuse to pay anyone.
If you give it a 5-star, the extension says "We love you too". It's kinda cute. It does it's job really well. Using it vs not using it, gives a huge difference because some website random sends you a pop up if you left anywhere on the website which is annoying. The extension solves that.
Thanks for replacing ads with your own ad, i think the irony is lost on you... I'll promptly remove this extension. What was great is now trash, did Elon buy this too?
This actually works! Works on Forbes .com Can recommend!
absolute trash. Now it shows its own pop ups and asks you for money. 15/12/2022 update: it now causes constant 15% cpu usage after awhile, possibly mining something here
Got just as many pop ups with this installed, I saw no difference at all.
You will see quickly that it is commercialized.
I no longer install this on friends and family computers, their own ads have become more annoying than what they are supposed to block.
Despite the annoying ads for premium features it is still a good extension. However I recently received a notification from Microsoft Edge stating it contained malware so I will no longer be using it.
Used to work previously but is now trying to monetize you by asking you to pay for premium or add ads, garbage
Used to be amazing. But now, they've become the very thing they promised to get rid of: annoying. It's okay if you added some pro features, but I don't want them. So, STOP showing me annoying messages for that. If you want me to subscribe to your service to hide cookie messages, congratulations, now I have to pop up messages to hide. BriLliAnT!
It was honestly an alright app when I used it, it blocked some of the more invasive pop ups that would appear when visiting dubious sites, but now that it's demanding money and giving me a 'free trial' I'll have to pass on it and find another app.
scummy as hell requires an account to even function
This used to be a useful extension that did exactly what I needed it to but now it's demanding money, it no longer wants to remove overlays without getting more information on me and the sites I visit (which wasn't needed before but now they want to harvest data so they are demanding that for the basic service they should be providing), and they are constantly hitting me up to sign up for a paid service. Pass on this. There are just as good free options not trying to heist your data and funds.
does NOTHING. literally get the same amount of pop-ups i did before.
Literally...It does NOTHING. This thing couldn't block a single pop up on anything. I don't know why it was ever installed. The only thing it seems to block is money from people's wallets. NEXT
Love the extension Felt the need to write this because of all the crybabies whining about it not "beeing free"; the basic features stayed free, the new (OPTIONAL) ones are paid
Used to allow hiding the "popup blocked" message per-website so that it didn't annoy you every time a popup gets blocked on a spammy website, but that no longer seems to be a thing. Sad. Things (as all other reviews say) seem to have gone downhill FAST since they started adding the paid stuff. And no, I don't want to try or pay for the premium stuff, I don't need it. I have uBlock Origin for that. This used to be a simple and effective popup blocker and now it's just shovelware.
The devs are dumb .they want me to pay for their extension.
Well it was fun while it lasted. The devs are dumb if they actually believe I'd pay a single cent for their extension.
another great extension ruined by soulless money grabbing. ive had this extension for years with no trouble and just 3 minutes ago I was served a pop-up asking for money and now I have a three day "trial." just another reflection into the type of world we live in nowadays...
Was happy with it until it started to show its own overlays. You supposed to fight them, not join them.
Misleading...not free if you want all features
(it gets the job done and has some nice features) That what i said 2 years ago but recently this extension ironically made its own popups and went freemium my trust for this extension has gone down considerably SHAME.
its no longer free
Used to be better. Recently the extension itself has started to show it's own pop-ups in an effort to advertise it's own paid extras. Very annoying practices by whoever owns this extension.
By far the best distraction remover from my browser. No more pop ups from every site i visit and you can even get rid of overlays that don't let you read an article without logging in.. Def recommended!
A pop up blocker that give you pop ups.
It was a great extension until they added their own notification asking the user if he wants to also hide cookie consent banners. If the user is not interested in such feature, said notification appears basically in every website! I have read that they are planning on allowing users to disable such notifications, an in that case I will be happy to change this review. Until then, a big nope!
Was great. Now it doesn't block as much as it used to. It also has its own spammy popups now. Only way to get it to work the way it used to? Pay for it! This may as well become a premium only extension. The free version is trash.
I used to love this tool, until it started to show its own popups and recommendations. Also, it doesn't automatically block new popups anymore. It also severely impacts page load performance, especially for large pages such as single-page documentations. The woocommerce API documentation used to take almost a full minute to fully load, but I've managed to isolate it to this one plugin, and now after removing it, the page loads in less than a second.
used to be super helpful, now tempted to remove it due to the cookie reminder being just as prolific and annoying as cookie popups themselves :/
Used this for years only to drop it like a hot stone when it started creating ITS OWN POPUPS. Now the devs are trying to spin it as positive instead of coming up with different funding methods. I only reinstalled so I could leave this review, but I hope you guys come up with something better than becoming the very thing you sought to destroy.
This is a great app, and their customer support is awesome. Thank you!
Apologies, i did in fact have this confused with another extension with a similar name! But you are wrong in that, it is not the same as it was.
Used to be the go-to pop up blocker in Chrome, but now it produces it's own absolutely annoying popup that cannot be disabled! The irony that the developers clearly do not see. What a shame!
Popup replacer rather than blocker. Just adds it's own popups.
Went from functional to being a pop-up of its own. They want to charge you to use it now too.
Popup blocker does NOT WORK. And they have the nerve to charge for it
replaces annoying popups with their own popups. Plus you have to pay to block certain types of popups. def not deserve 5 star rating.
Pop Up Blocker with its own annoying pop ups no thanks from class to trash.
you became the villan when we expected you to be hero Showing bigger popup's than the one popup the actual website shows... hmmm couldn't rate lower than 1/5 uninstalled finally
Completely unusable since they started to use the same annoying tactics to spam the user with a pop-up
Went bad
Poper Blocker popping up its own bad self to annoy me for $4. No.
Popup blocker that shows its own popups. And it does that way to frequently! Devs must be drunk or something. Too bad, so sad, love bread.
You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. This extension just become the latter because of their own anoying popups. Uninstall
The app does work and works well, however, i sent a message to the developers to ask how to prevent the app itself from displaying pop-ups and was told that this was an intentional FEATURE to let us know that the app is working. So this app prevents pop-ups from appearing on websites and shows a pop-up to let you know it has done this. I'm already searching for a more appropriate blocker as this extension is not fit for purpose and you should consider an other extension before resorting to using this one.
A pop-up blocker that gives its own pop-ups. Super annoying. It was good while it lasted. Uninstalled.
A "Pop up blocker" that usually show a popup that self-promote its paid function =)) I have to block it with adblock.
Please add wildcard support in whitelist
Devs kind of made it trash with all the popups it gives you (it's supposed to block the popups not make its damn own ones), a year ago it did its job good without bothering you.
What's the point of a popup blocker that loads its own popup every time you get a notice about cookies? Uninstalled. Easily the most annoying extension I had installed. At this point, it's basically just adware for itself.
itself being an annoying pop up everyday foff
This was a very good blocker UNTIL my laptop got extremely laggy, i did what i needed to do to fix the lag just to see that ALL of my ad blockers crashed, and this was one of them, i went to add this back on only to see that NOW yall are only for people who PAYS for it, yall used to be free like what happened? It was good while it lasted. but it was such a disappointment that yall changed on us free people.
It used to be great, did the job just fine, now something changed and it's showing ADs for the pro version all the time, very annoying, not only that, it misses lots of popups. Should revert to its older state.
it was great at the start, now it's not doing it's work and shows its ads all the time, super annoying
Was great until it created it's own pop ups.
it blocks the whole google cloud website, it drove me crazy to find the issue was this extension
How ironic that a pop up blocker will block pop ups only to produce its own pop ups asking you to go premium.
this extension used to be good. Now it's generating its own popups. Don't even bother downloading it.
Used to work, now the extension itself causes a pop-up that can't be removed.
Popups are now coming from this popup blocker trying to make you subscribe to pro. I just uninstalled it. Popups from the popup blocker? What an irony. You'd think they'd think about that.
"You have become the very thing you swore to destroy!" It was a really good extension that worked really well and blocked 99% of popups and overlays. Now, however it became an extension that shows ads in every page to convince you to subscribe to their Pro subscription.
Took me a while to find out that this extension makes a huge processing leakage whenever you enter a web page. Had my times stalled by 3-4 seconds from this extension. Removed it asap
it don't block popups from olweb.tv https://www.olweb.tv/index2.html
A pretty dumb extension that blocks popups and creates a popup on its own, then begs for a subscription. pfft.
This pop up blocker is now giving you their own pop up ads to go premium, this shxt fell off
loved it
garbage that forces you to do a survey when you uninstall, basically malware.
Was a good extension that stopped pop ups. Now has it's own built in pop up to tell you to buy the pro version to hide cookie pop ups, it has become the thing it swore to destroy! I'd suggest using a different extension,
was amazing before, now this is a popup blocker that gives you MORE popups for you too close.... Use another this one is done for
make it like before. A pop up blocker that shows pop up lol what?
It's a pop-up blocker - yet it gives you pop-ups. You can get people to buy premium in other ways, going against the function of the extension makes the app have little value.
Imagine getting ads in order to block ads. That's exactly what this tool is for.
makes intrusive popups bugging you for premium subscriptions, otherwise fine.
Review 2020 I love this extension for popups and overlays but popunders still bombard me UPDATE 2022 This has become totally useless. I can't allow pop ups on select pages any more. It's suddenly ALL or NOTHING. Shame, as it's the only game in town
worst
It annoyingly shows more popups than the websites!! It was better before!!
Used to be great. Now it makes it's own pop-ups.
Hate the pro feature popups, they should really be mutable - it defeats the purpose. But worse!! It destroys the Google Cloud Console UI, 2/5 times resources will not load - even when asking the extension to NOT block anything, it still seem to modify the page enough to break it.
This has become the very thing it wanted to destroy. Since the introduction of their premium subscription service, my webpage is just littered with their pop ups telling me to sub. what a shame
Original 2018 review: Great. Pop unders were a pain - not anymore! UPDATE 2022: I have been using this extension for over 5 years and now all it does is constantly advertise gold features, I don't mind one or two but this is relentless and it shouldn't be modifying page content like that. All the extension does now is get in the way.
it non stops asks for me to review so here i am
The remove overlay function is useful
If you hate being distracted by pop ups, *don't* get this extension. It generates its *own* popups asking you to pay, not only that but it pops up several times on websites and pages which aren't producing pop ups. What use is a pop up blocker which generates pop ups? AVOID
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Free version is non-functional. First website I went to had a pop-up. Definitely don't pay for it if they offer a free one that doesn't work.
Used to be amazing. Now, ironically, it spams me with popups i can't turn off! Let me say that again slowly: A POPUP BLOCKER SPAMS ME WITH POPUPS. Will be looking to replace stat.
Became worse and functions limited after developer decided to release a paid version
gr8
I've been using this extension for years together with ublock origin across all my devices, mobile & desktop. The "remove overlay" in right-click context menu was very useful! As of late, the usefulness of this extension continues to dwindle, especially on my mobile devices, essentially does nothing in the background but slow web browsing.
love it
It does the work.
great to rid nuisance pop-ups
THIS! Is even worse than it was before, hahaha. Why isn't the "don't show this again" enabled in the first place? I mean there is a reason people add this extension :D
Past review: It's not perfect yet, but...... it's just simply amazing! Less popups and that overlay removal.... that's a great feature! Thank you for that! Recent review: Though it would be nice, that if it stop pop ups on websites, to not have it's own pop ups advertising paying for the extension.. Get sick of closing them down instead now. Current review: Well, it was good while it lasted. You better buy their pro version or it basically gives more popups than it removes. No thanks! Cookie popups? Nope, it doesn't get rid of those.. It just adds a new popup next to it advertising the pro version!
I thought I was downloading a popup blocker not a popup maker... DONOT SUPPORT SHADY PRACTICES AND DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THE PAID VERSION.
works as proposed.
This has become the irony of itself.
I used this addon for years to block popups on Chrome. Now it's the garbage that generates the popups on Chrome. Uninstalled then reinstalled to write this review, now I'm uninstalling again. Be the solution, not the problem!
was good before, but worse now. It's ok if they has free and pain version. but, the free version is somewhat more and more hard to use. for example, I already whitelist a site, yet it's pop-up still blocked, then on other site, the pop-up not blocked event the extension is active and the site isn't in the whitelist. Conclusion: at current version, this ext pretty hard to use, you don't know whether this ext really active or not.
I have bought the paid version, but I have yet to receive instructions as to how to install it.
Was good, now extension shows more pop ups than it blocks :)
Was good, now bad. Causes more popup frustration than it solves. No, I don't want to buy XYZ from you, stop showing me this spam constantly.
its good
great
Used to be good, now it does nothing
