Not transferring anything to my device. Sits at the print screen and never does anything.
Fantastic. This has pretty much changed my life. I wish I could change the format a little bit, so I had more room to write. But seriously. I don't know how to read an article on a stupid computer screen anymore :D
Can't believe I've taken so long to discover this AMAZING feature! It's literally one click. Not two. Not three. One. Another game-changer from a truly innovative company.
Amazing extension. it works smoothly and transfers everything to my remarkable2 as pdfs
Works great for me. Can send articles to my Remarkable and send them as a PDF. Looks great and very fast.
It's ok for web articles, but if I have a PDF open in Chrome, then try to "Read on Remarkable" it does not work.
I am having trouble in connecting to my remarkable account. I get a failed to fetch message when I enter the one time code. Any advice?
Works fine for passing articles to my Remarkable2
This company does good products, but their customer support is really poor and not helpful. Had problems with this extension and Customer Support were difficult to contact in the first place and then not interested in genuinely helping.
I have downloaded the extension, but it's not appearing in the top right hand corner so I can't use it.
So far so good! It has been very helpful!
Unfortunately it won't work on Chromebook :(
This remarkable extension works perfectly well as advertised, i just got my remarkable and so far it has been a useful tool for my workflow.
This is the only thing I use chrome for, which at least for me is a testament to its (and the Remarkable in general's) importance to my workflow. I didn't realize how much nicer text-dominant articles looked when I read then on my tablet. My one wish is that the original URL was attached as (meta)data somehow for the desktop app and tablet to display; for articles I wish to keep I want to refer back to the source and right now I have to manage my articles both in a bookmarks list so I can eventually write down their citation info, as well as the reading queue I have on the tablet.
Asked our billing service to make an electronic billing sheet that I can access easily without having to carry paper. This device solved that problem.
Very convenient way to upload academic papers and web articles to my reMarkable 2 from my Chromebook (via PDF printing). Wish it was as convenient from my Android phone!
Very convenient extension - makes it effortless to send articles to the remarkable. Update: epubs can have their text size changed by accessing ebook setting in the bottom left corner under text settings. Happy with the extension, would like if it included photos in the epub versions, but technically the pdf is a workaround at the moment. 5 stars because this type of extension supported by remarkable not a third party makes it a true replacement from reading articles etc on the computer.
When the application is working the quality of content send on the device are superb. Most of the time however, the application is not working, it show that the application was send to the device but when I check there is nothing on the device, . If I restart the device , some file appears but not all the files that was send before.. And there is no way to debug this...
I downloaded the extension today and everything works as it should. The conversion from webpage to ebook is very helpful and is more readable than the .pdf, to me. Although changing the scale of the .pdf during "printing" to remarkable may help with that. I wish, however, there is the option to turn a .pdf or ebook into a notebook so that the .pdf can serve as a "cover letter" if you will. I am a student and this would allow me to read the .pdf and continue working on the problems. The ability to append a .pdf to an existing notebook would also be a nice addition, though that is outside the scope of this extension. All in all I am happy with the extension.
Doesn't work - the remarkable always says "Downloaded file is corrupt"
Really liking it! A great tool for making Remarkable more regularly useful. Would love to be able to choose the default folder for downloaded content; in order to use this regularly, it'd be nice to avoid cluttering the main directory & having to regularly move content into a "Read Later" folder or something similar.
Can't get it to work . . .help would be appreciated. I just got my Remarkable 2 and I tried saving an article on the web through the Chrome extension. I followed the instructions and got to the point where it said print, and I had the print destination as "Read on reMarkable (PDF)". When I hit print I get the message, "Printing failed. Please check your printer and try again." I have tried every which way (i.e. black and white, etc). Still no luck. Any suggestions?
Useful and practical. Seems that there is no option to choose which folder in the device the content will be delivered.Would be nice to have a READ LATER folder in the device and that any content will be delivered there
Accessing pdfs on the Remarkable 2 is crucial. While my first pdf transferred correctly, nothing now transfers. After I click "Read on Remarkable as pdf", no message appears within the browser, and no file appears on my Remarkable 2. I wish this was all less "managed". Please gives us a simple location to upload files to for access from the Remarkable 2.
I haven't experienced too much of the app, but everything I have used so far with it (pdfs and epub) always come deformed without tables lets say or bullet points.... I hope it changes.
You can generate PDF that are pretty close to the actual page, but good luck figuring out that you have to pick the "read on Remarkable" device to get the PDF automagically loaded to the RM. The EPUB version, very sadly, does not bring over any image, making it almost useless. Why ? EPUBs have images, so it is not a format issue... come on, make it work like it should. And make network connection a bit quicker to get established. Why I have to wait minutes to get the synchronisation started? Fix these, then you will get the remaining stars.
I feel stupid. I installed the read on rM, but how can I get pdfs on the RM? I don't see the RM-sign. I must be blind.
Works perfectly to my needs, image processing could be better but in general amazing
It would be much more convenient if we can directly upload and download files from and to the tablet through the reMarkable web cloud instead of using the apps or extension! The current process is still a bit manual.
This is an excellent and remarkable addition to the reMarkable 2 tablet. So easy to transfer the web articles on to the remarkable. Within seconds the documents gets downloaded into the tablet into easy read format, wow! I love this extension and appreciate the reMarkable team for their efforts in developing it.
I just got my remarkable2 today. I got this extension and it worked like a charm.
The extension is okay, not great. Specifically, it is very frustrating that sending documents via this extension does not have them appear at the top on the tablet when Sort by is "Last updated." It's got some pretty basic usability problems, and the default view often removes images or text that would be kept in an app like Pocket.
Great extension. Please support images with epub format and it will be perfect for me. Thanks!
Sure, I appear to be able to send news articles to my new Remarkable 2. BUT neither the extension nor the app has yet to successfully send a single PDF to it -- the MAJOR reason why I purchased this device. Create a seamless way to send documents or you will have a very angry customer on your hands . . . very shortly. This should be the easiest thing in the world. I can't send the contents of a Google Doc over. I can't send the PDF version I create. I cannot send preexisting PDF files. They all fail. I either get an error message or nothing happens and nothing is received on the device side. I'm very displeased. I thought I'd have a relatively bug-free experience as this is a 2nd generation product and there was a recent update (2.3?) to the device.
It does what it says on the tin.
The first document I tried it on was the Wikipedia article on "Ellipse". When converted as "text" it goes directly to the remarkable device. However, for this article, it converts the text minus the mathematics and the figures. This is somewhat useless to read this article. Then I tried it on another webpage which had pictures but no funny symbols in the text. It converts the text into a very readable font and goes directly to the device. There is also the option to convert to PDF, but this just uses the print to PDF function that already exists in browsers. You have to save it somewhere, open the remarkable app, and import it. This is exactly what I was doing anyway. In summary, if you read documents on Chrome with ordinary text and no figures, this will this will save you steps, because at the push of a button it sends it directly to your remarkable tablet. If you need the figures and or mathematical symbols or chinese characters (I also tested), don't bother. This has the same functionality as the print button.
It's a great tool so far! I have been wanting to read more of my articles from my Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing on my remarkable, because I want to be able to have all my notes in one place. It works about 98% of the time, but it makes the process so much faster and smoother for converting to epub or saving it as a pdf that I don't mind the few times it doesn't work. What I would like to see is when I save it as a PDF, the article will go straight to remarkable. Currently, it stays in my downloads folder and I have to upload it to remarkable manually still. the thing that would make it REALLY great would be to be able to change the TITLE of what you're sending to remarkable! When I'm on the same website skimming through multiple articles, they all get sent with the same title :( that makes it hard to sift through later on! I had to go through and add the title of each of the articles manually. Again, a lot faster than saving it as a pdf and uploading it to remarkable each time on my own, but there is still some room for improvement :) I also like the idea of adding blank pages to the end for note taking! that would be sweet.
I love it! I have been using the tablet for 2 years. This extension has just made my first generation so much more useful and enjoyable.
This is, in a word, AWESOME! So far everything the reMarkable team has done has been awesome and this is no exception. It's very cool being able to take a page straight to may reMarkable without a whole lot of unnecessary steps. And you have the option of text or PDF which is helpful as well. Thanks reMarkable!
This is so good. It brings my reading experience to the next level. Thank you.
This is an awesome complement to the reMarkable tablet. It allows me to quickly 'clip' things of interest on my news feeds and searches without the context switching required to print and file the pages for later consumption. I can now stay focused on what I'm working on and schedule some time on a Friday afternoon to review interesting things. There are some sites the 'read on reMarkable as PDF' command won't work on but that might be because I generally browse with JavaScript turned off and only explicitly add sites. But, generally speaking, it works very well and the device gets updated pretty quickly. I would like the option to 'add a blank page' for note taking in case I find something worth filing.
Love this. Works well, and it provides the final part of my 'paper removal plan' :) ie I already no longer have any paper notepads because of my reMarkable, and now this extension means that I can very easily 'print' (to my reMarkable) emails and docs that I need to review / scribble on / think about, etc
