This is a sorely needed feature on Tumblr, and it's ridiculous that I need a separate Chrome extension so I don't damage my ears trying to watch videos on Tumblr. (Thank you for creating this, by the way!) My only complaint is that it only worked for one day before the volume bar completely disappeared again. I've tried turning it on and off and restarting my browser, but it's not coming back. Back to the drawing board.
Currently, the extension does not offer an option to download videos, but! The addition of an actual volume button is already so great! Hopefully you can update it (although, I won't blame you for not doing that, the sites has gone through some troubles) Even if I can only use 50% of this extension, it's amazing for what it can still do! I recommend this just to get a better player for Tumblr videos
the only reason i wanted this is to download the video, doesnt do that
It is very nice, but after the volume control update that was done today, there is no longer an option to download the video. I am waiting for bettertumblrvideo to add this feature again!
No longer has volume control...which is it's primary purpose. But you can still download videos, so it's not all bad.

For some reason this application doesn't work on the "Likes" page on Tumblr.
Unfortunately, it removes the image previews! :/

I don't have to be afraid of wearing headphones on Tumblr anymore. Very convenient to use the already good HTML5 video player
