Probably the best extension for what it is made for, so far there is two very annoying glitches 1 - If you have all your tabs pinned, the extention just wont open, you must have at least one tab not pinned. 2 - This one if the most annoying - Imagine the situation, you have 10 youtube tabs in that extension, and 10 wikipedia tabs, and all of them are mixed up. And you want to open 10 wikipedia tabs, you go to search bar, and you type "Wikipedia", it will show you all of your Wikipedia tabs, handy right? Wrong. Only the first tab is an actual wikipedia tab, all other are random tabs that extention for some reason named wikipedia when you typed it in search bar, so you can open 3 wikipedia tabs with this method, and other 7 will be youtube just because the extention decided to. So yea, extremelly annoying glitch, and the only way around it - open the extention, type what you need, open first tab, then you close it, open again, type what you need, open first tab, and repeat it until you pull out all the tabs you need.
It's good but not great!
the overall interface and performance wasn't impressive and the impact was too little
Why closing a tab by using Chrome's History>Recently closed preserves a tab's story (the Back button) and this extension doesn't. It's not saving tabs, but their urls, which makes it misleading.
I like the idea of TMT because i always have many tabs open, such as discord, youtube, another yt tab for music and something else, but the design of TMT is just too, old. The design looks like something from windows 7 and it doesnt really 'fit' the sleek white design of Google Chrome, which i think it should. Thats all, overall a great extension.
lost all my tabs
Why can't I disable the pane for "closed/suspended tabs"? I don't want that. Why is there a theme chooser directly in the interface? Keep the options in the options and the features in the interface. Previews don't work. 2D sideways scrolling is buggy and cartoonish, I don't want to scroll sideways.
Some time ago it worked perfectly... but now... Sometime I need to wait 15-20 seconds before the TMT opens its window
Really like this extension, but if I had one wish it would be to make the colour of the tab counter configurable, some of the default colours make it hard to read the number for me.
The "Suspended Tabs" Feature is a game changer for me. Thank you.
This used to be perfect. Easy to find my way round. Great functionality. Now they have ruined it completely. No periodic saves. etc We do not want our tabs to do with Googledrive. Like they need more of our info!! I've just lost all my recent tabs. Wouldn't have happened with the last version. Reinstate the last version. It was 100 times better! unreal.
Really bothers me that the tabs are not ordered in the same way as in the window itself, and if I allow showing tabs across windows then it's not split to separate windows in the view, just one big mess (with 100+ tabs you can't work like that). There is good potential but it needs to go the extra mile to be good and useful.
Good idea, but I'll look for other implementations of it - the X to close tab is too hard to click when this is not a list and the Xes are spread everywhere, and middle click to close doesn't work either For now I'm going to use QuicKey - it just lists the tabs and although it doesn't have tab previews, in turn it also performs smoother, loads faster
最大的用处是上班摸鱼时,有人过来就把看到一半的网页藏起来
This extension is great, and exactly what I was looking for. Quickly add tabs to a list that I can then quickly get back to later, while still not using a lot of memory.
Buggy popup window.. suspend pages feat does not work
I approve of the custom width setting, however I wish there were similar setting for height so more tabs could fit into the window. Option to make it open through the shortcut in fullscreen instead of a window would be great too. If these settings were added I'd give it 5 stars easily.
cant show tabs as list instead if icon
Needs to get rid of auto-popup installation page that plagues chrome store extensions. I log into many computers, and get bombarded with intrusive popups from many extensions being installed, and this one is part of the problem.
Visually nice and as a simple tab manager it works well with two groups of tabs, active or suspended tabs. I didn't find the import/export option worked however and imported links didn't open properly in a new chrome window. I now use Tabli which allows you to group tabs and sync them across devices using your google account. Recommend using Tabli if this extension doesn't suit you
I really like this extension and find it incredibly useful. I often switch around several computers for work/personal. Being able to back up the tabs and move them to a different work-station is great. My only problem is the order in which the tabs appear in the extension window. I've left a suggestion, and would happily raise my rating to a 5 if my suggestion was implemented for easibility.
Boom .... Dopeness!
The display of the number of opened Tabs is too small to read. How is it possible to change the font size of it?
This extension is fine but it needs to be able to open, close and suspend MULTIPLE tabs at a time. It doesn't really help me in convenience if I have to open and close them one at a time. Will definately use this all the time if that becomes a feature.
feels slow and with many tabs you have to find the "you are here" and scroll every time instead of automatically show you where you are =\ Peek-a-tab is better.
It doesnt seem to work... Disabling a tab, and it just sits there. Plus the interface looks like its from the 90s Why are there no good Tab Managers out there
works great for me
other windows are hidden by default, no grouping across windows, totally mess

I'm a long time user. Recently had a problem with all missing tabs & columns. Had to set the computer back to factory default because of a virus. Wasn't happy when I noticed that all my tab history was missing. After a little investigation, I found the import/export section and was able to restore the missing info. My faith in TooManyTabs is now restored as well.
Don't trust it to actually have your saved data it likes to save over the backup data for no reason when you never told it to backup and save anything. Very upset I lost all that data to save sessions of nothing and zero tabs.
I use this extension every day! The only "problem" is storing tabs and thinking you'll get back to them and then you never do :p I'd love to have a zoomed out version of all my categories so I can look at them all at the same time. Cycling through them can feel a bit limiting.
Use it on every computer I own. Super valuable!
+ Very useful + Original idea Suggestions: - I'm working with multiple monitors and I'd like to have one dedicated to TMT popup. Please make popup persistent so it stays on screen after working with it (to be used as a Chrome Command Center :) ) - Please make custom popup height as well (like width)
Too buggy, lost all my tabs that were suspended. I will never recommend this extension to anyone
there were problems but now seems ok, very useful
too gaudy and lots of waste of real estate
Thanks for availing cloud backup feature. Microsoft Edge has your work integrated as default "Set these tabs aside" feature Suggestion: Please make the Tab Count Badger background BLACK.. It is very difficult to read white in red. Also, give option to chose icon. I want TabCount as icon, without TMT icon. That'd great for A11Y
Works great!
Why does the scroll work in two dimensions? I want a concise and usable list of available tabs. This app has all the elements of what I'm looking for, but the interface is so horribly unintuitive and obstructive that it infuriates me more than it helps to manage anything. I'd rather just stick to blind alt tabbing than trying to manage this mess.
best extension ever
Loving it...
great
It would benefit from having the ability to move new tabs to folders/sets of other tabs.
helps out immensely
It has been quite useful to me since it's too easy to have many tabs open at once. This tool allows me to set aside those I may still need or want but not at the moment-and pull them back up when I want them again.
This thing really solved my problem. Absent a vertical list for Chrome, which I can't influence, I get an intelligent interface with picture of screen contents, and a kill switch for the tabs I do not need anymore. Has saved me an hour in the past 48 since I installed it!
Why can't I delete pinned suspended tabs? Why can't I delete a single suspended tab without deleting ALL my suspended tabs? Why is the UI absolutely intuitive? Why is it so ugly? Why does every website recommend this garbage extension?
The menu is messy and suspending a tab erases its history when you load it back up.
I use this every day. Works as advertised. Support is outstanding, too. I've only needed to turn to support a couple times in the last couple of years (most recently last week) and they were responsive and helpful.
It seems barely functional for me. It is difficult to open, when it does it is difficult to get to anything in it. It will not allow me to make the window larger or open it in a new tab like I used to be able to do.
I love it!!!,because it got rid of all of my tabs even the last tab.Thank you Too Many Tabs!
Great when you figure it all out. Bit wonky at the beginning, but its been a great tool for me after I've made "folders" to save my 100s of tabs.
OneTab is less messy.
This is pretty, but confusing and buggy. When you add the last tab of a group (current open browser) instead of closing the browser it keeps that last tab open and adds a new tab/site. Huh?? You cannot rename a group of tabs/sites. I could not figure out how to create a new group of tabs/sites. When you add a tab to be saved it closes the app window so you have to pull it down again for the next tab. After doing this 10 times you will uninstall it.
Love it, wish there was a shortcut to put away and grab back tabs with my keyboard. Like Ctrl+W and Ctrl+Shft+T to close and reopen tabs.
Just added more frustration. More than half of the tabs are now "ghost tabs" and it duplicated the tabs I had four more times. Now I can't open more than 8 of them. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but if that's the case, then that's a UX error. If it's not me, then it's a HUGE glitch.
I love this extension but it really needs to be updated. You really need to change the color of the tab count because the white number is hard to see in the green square. so if you change that It would then be worth a full five stars.
I would like this better if I could link it to my bookmark folders - even if it is just colours tabs based on bookmark folder - as others have commented, firefox does a better job of this
All these so called tab overflow extensions in chrome lack the one thing that would make them useful, limit the number of tabs on the tabbar to say 10 and move the rest to the vertical list, is that really so difficult in chrome? Firefox does this easily.
Wow, this tiny window popup when I have dozens of tabs and have to scroll through them? Sheer torture. A full window option is mandatory.
It's a great app and I use it all the time. I am a tabaholic and I am so happy there is an answer so I can free up memory and keep my laptop running at optimal speed.
This is a big time saver for me. It's very simple and easy to use. It is the best tab manager I've come across so far. Would have loved to have a key board short cut for focusing and selecting the recently closed tabs or suspended tabs. with that I'd give a four star
Helped me close 182 tabs in 31 seconds. Very helpful
Loved it! Amazing tab manager, the suspend tab option is a lifesaver, but would like if there was a better way to see your suspended tabs, I have many lists of suspended tabs and being able to see them in full screen, select multiple at once and bookmark them would be great
Not bad, but there is many other similar tools already with more interesting functionality.
Not enough features. It does work though. Drag and drop doesn't work. Can't add tabs to groups. Can't remove tabs from the suspended list wothout clicking on them and then closing the tab. No Re-Organise function for tabs to re-organise after opening a new tab. Tabs look and feel Un-organised. could make general look of app more slick and smooth. Background color function is interesting and cool but does not add functional value. Great start you can do better.
Not nearly as dependable or useful as it used to be - it's recently taken to wiping (or at least not saving) the tabs I've put in it - frustrating my attempts to reduce open tabs and to put all tabs into thematic sets. The look and feel have not improved enough over time - scrolling through a long list of saved tabs can be difficult. Tagging and self organising (as in Google photos) might be more useful than pages of themed tabs.
. They've changed it, and it's awful. . The DataRat .
it works as it says.
I use this app literally EVERY DAY- and multiple times per day, too. It is a lifesaver when it comes to freeing up some memory to allow Chrome to run faster! Plus, it lets me have a nice clean workspace so I can concentrate on the task at hand and not get distracted by other open tabs. I am a huge procrastinator- so this helps me to prioritize and then work on things one at a time. Thank you, TooManyTabs!
CRAP
make faster more features n SAVE TAB HISTORY,
I've used and enjoyed the Firefox version of this addon for over a year now. But this Chrome version crashes all the time, and needs to be repaired. But when you repair, it doesn't save the tabs you on on the addon, so it's useless. Too bad, because the Firefox version works very well.
I love this extension, I've used it for years.
This has the ugliest UI, How can this addon have 350 000 downlload ? It is UNUSABLE, 90% of the UI is empty. WTF is that ?
. First tried this on FireFox. Now on Chrome. I have found it very useful. . The DataRat .
It`s another like or hate tab. For me it does what I need it to do as I have many tabs open at once. I`d say try it, see which side of the fence you land on. Try owt once.
Purrfect
I have up to 70 tabs open in Chrome it helps me find what I want since the tabs are to small in Chrome to see if I don't recall where the tab is I want.
Nice idea with idle tabs, but implementation has lot of space for improvement. The list instead of this sloppy table would be much more intuitive and easy to implement. Colors are terrible - they are hard to the eyes. When you turn off the previews, it is just the same spacious table with lots of blank spaces. I can't reorder in descending mode, so I need to scroll to the end of the list to find my idle tabs. I am trying to switch to OneTab, TabJump or similar. I am sorry for a lot of effort which was put into this extension, but you guys need to learn from your competition and redo this from scratch.
It wasn't easy to use at all. I did not feel comfortable with the extension. So, i am going to try another one that may be better suited for me and my needs. The explanation of how to use it was hard to understand and then when i did attempt to use it several times, I could not even get it to work! Also, I did try to use the alternatives that it said to use to get it to work and it did not!
Its a good extension. Some things need to be changed for better user experience. 1. Change the context menu text in chrome. 2. Give an option to show only open tabs as list or as thumbnails or dont show at all. 3. Shortcut to send the current tab to TMT.
Only played with it for a few minutes, but this is an excellent extension to anyone that has to deal with too many open tabs. Request for feature: A way to sync the lists between multiple machines.
very helpful
great for saving quick saving sessions
I can't imagine how much time was spent designing this ugly GUI, difficult to actually just make a plugin fit the actual theme guidelines of Google Chrome. And to not to bloat the extension with unnecessary garbage? I am off to search for another one.
Tiny window, crammed tabs (even if I disable previews) and the interface is too round/visually outstanding (I'd like something more "minimalistic" where I can read the tab names in a single line...)
Not even a grouping feature. WTH?
Getting better all the time. I'm a long time user. It's the main reason I finally switched to Chrome as my default browser (although my job still requires heavy use of IE as I administer MS products). I find myself copy/pasting URL's from IE into Chrome so that I can keep them handy in TMT.
Cool.
Try it and it is greate! Thanks!
This is without a doubt one of the most useful browser extensions while taking into consideration the fact that it does everything it says it does and I haven't encountered a single error/bug, yet! I have to use this add-on daily because of how crazy I end up getting when it comes to all of the pages I have an need open at the same time while researching particular topics from anything like software reviews, new TV's, new cell phone's, samples of code and different language API's while writing the mobile application's I am currently working on!! It could be that one day and the next I may be researching different pharmacology & pharmacokinetics topics, or even cosmology, and then maybe neuroscience & neurochemistry, and I do a ton of research in the psychology field!! So what I am trying to make very clear is that this app has handled a ton of sites I've thrown at it to keep them from using my laptop's resources and creating a sever lag and over use of memory!!! I also love the 'backup to Google Drive' option!!! No mater where I'm at I am able to get those sites and continue where I left off!! Just download it it and begin to use it and it's so extremely user friendly that you needn't know anything to do with computer or mobile applications not to mention anything to do with how the extension in & of itself works in the background since all you need to do is click very apparent buttons to do the things you would like to!! If I were anyone checking this extension out I'd just go ahead and download it & use it a bit at the very least just so you're able to find out if you are going to possibly benefit from it at all!!! ;-) Hope the review helps and y'all enjoy the browser add-on!!!
The Bad: It is okay, although the current interface doesn't even make me want to go and see what tabs I have stored. I have tabs stored there that I don't even remember because it looks very small and I don't feel attracted to see which tabs I have stored. The Good: It is NOT intrusive. It performs well. Hasn't crash, so far. Very intuitive. Why I gave it 2 stars? It does what it is supposed to; store tabs,. BUT I'm a Web Developer, and even tho this app is not intrusive in the interface. It has a very, very bad practice. It prints to the browser's console-log info about an event of key combinations and also some other stuff. I'm enabling and disabling the extension every time I code, which is almost 24/7, just to remove that annoying print to the console. I will disable it until I see those console-logs removed..
Love it :) Saves my life :)
So awesome
Just put your 35 opened tabs to suspended tab section and you release a few gb of memory. When you want you can open them later, just great. Thank you
a great program
After trying numerous other tools I came gave this one a shot, and wow am I happy I did. It's easy to set up, and very easy to use. The layout is easy to navigate, it has a ton of features yet isn't complicated to the point that it makes it difficult to use. All in all I haven't had any issues with it, and not too sure why some others say it's complicated or sporadic. Granted it would be nice to have an option to suspend all tabs, but as for having to drag and drop tabs, you don’t have to do that either. It has an option to click an arrow for each tab you want to suspend. For the shortcut key being sporadic this could be caused from many other non extension related issues, not to mention the setup for toomanytabs also states the shortcut doesn’t work when you are on system & some google pages. And to the reviewer who said there is no shortcut to go through the list of tabs to reactivate, this just isn’t true. Under the options you can set up a shortcut key to use with any combination of CTRL and whatever key you choose from the drop down selection menu. Another nice feature is the ability to import/export your columns and tabs to another computer. All you need to do is export it and save to your favorite cloud storage to retrieve from the other device and bam saved tabs ready for you from anywhere. You can also merge tabs from TooManyTabs on Firefox into your chrome session. Great product for managing the massive amount of tabs I like to have open all the time!!!
On macs, this extension makes chrome unresponsive while browsing google images and if you were to load a tab in the background it will make chrome unresponsive as well.
Worked really well, but after so long and it not receiving any updates, I am definitely moving on to something else. Definitely served its purpose, but the UI is very cluttered, very information overload-y, and hasn't received any love in a long time.
It runs a bit slow. The "fast tabs" extension is better than this one.
Tab preview Panel is not resizable and thus pretty s ucks. It's too small for my resolution. I've a 30 inch monitor, and I cannot use all the space of my screen to my advantage, just a really small portion that is also too far from the main center of where I look. Please add resizability. Uninstalled.
