It has been almost fully broken for a few months now. Several times a day the extensions refuses to open and I have to restart Chrome to make it work again. Sometimes it only works for 10 seconds before breaking again. Customer support refused to investigate and instead asked me, the customer, to debug it by disabling all other extensions, that are mandatory for my work, for a week to see if the issue persists.
Broken by the MacOS 1Password7 app update? Updated the MacOS 1Password7 app and all of a sudden the 1password chrome extension stopped working. Repeatedly logging in to use it, fails sync saved logins, failed to save new logins in the first place.
Really love 1password in general, and the mobile app is great. But this extension is a mess. It NEVER works. Generating a password and saving it to my vault has to be done manually every time. Doesn't matter what other extensions are running, my browser is updated, I can clear cookies and restart every time and still have issues. Really wish they'd fix this since it is the main way I interact with their product that I pay for, might I add.
It's basically Schodinger's password manager. You never know if it's going to work until you try to use it and it rarely does.
Clunky and awful. Works half the time, I have to manually reload any given website to enable autofill the rest of the time. Still can't get it to remember my credit card info. Pissed that my wife chose it as our household password manager.
Works for me
I moved from lastpass to one password, and I think I made a really big mistake. Everything is buggy about it I constantly have to remove the extension and add it again, so I can save new logins or else it wont let me save them, it doesn't sink from my iPhone to the browser extension also, includes many many annoyances. I really wish I never paid for it.
Like other comments left, this extension does not work.
Poor showing from an otherwise useful suite of tools. Rarely able to save a password on new account creation, the "fill with suggested password" tool only works 50% of the time at best, constantly interrupting what you're doing to take you to a screen to authenticate even after you just did that 10 seconds ago. There is no "correct" way to use software this buggy.
Disappointing. This extension is extremely buggy, hijacks chrome's own autofill function, and constantly logs me out. Since Chrome is my primary browser, I'll be cancelling the service and going back to LP because of this.
Absolute trash. Need to reinstall every few days.
I have been using this for a few years, and have got a Family account but none of my family can be bothered to use it. I find it is good most of the time but intrudes when I do not need a password. I cannot tell if I have been logged out. It's just frustrating to use. The help section is hopeless, too much jargon and instructions are not clear. I am using a chromebook, maybe I should just use the chrome manager???
I honestly don't get the bad reviews. Been using 1pass for a year now and it works flawlessly on all my devices and browsers. I think the people hating on this are all having a classic layer 8 issue.
The chrome browser extension is worth not having, the suggested password feature never works nor copies the password into the field
I cannot say enough bad things about this. It never allows me to create or save a password when I'm using it. Seriously a password manager has a few things it should be good at and that's one of the main things. It's wild how many customers they should lose because of this.
Horrible stability. Sometimes it works to sync passwords and save new passwords, other times it doesn't. Really dissapointed that they've dropped the ball on literally the only piece of 1Pass that users use every day...filling / saving passwords as they visit websites. I've literally spent more time enabling/disabling adding/removing quitting/opening 1Pass than I spend using websites.
Pathetic stability. Half of the time the extension screens remain black. When it works sometimes, the load time is pathetic and shows "loading" for a long time.
this used to work so much better. Now it's just a waste of time. Waiting super long for the extension to open, touch ID not working, auto saving of new logins not working, auto-creation of new strong passwords not working.
Working only after reinstall, after some time clicking on the icon just open popup with endless spinner
Simply not working since 1password 8. Have to restart Chrome whenever I want to use it...
I've been using 1Password for over 10 years and I always loved the app. Since 1Password 8 and the new browser extension came out, it's giving me a lot of trouble. Touch ID to unlock doesn't work most of the time. Passwords don't get copied. Autofillable fields don't get detected. The experience has gotten so bad that I was even tempted to use a "test123" password the other day. I hope the 1Password team sees this feedback and brings the quality of 1Password back to where it was.
Unreliable, but hoping better than LastPass. Locks randomly even though I have set not to lock; keeps "Welcoming to onepass tabe opening' "unable to save generated password"...etc. In short - a frustrating experience so far after switching from lastpass
Spinning wheel showing only. Please fix!
Chrome extension abruptly stopped working. 3 reinstalls, but I just get a spinning wheel of death every time. A password manager should be much more robust. This is killing my work flow and just about everything else I'm trying to accomplish.
I came here unsolicited to provide a rating of this extension. I was shocked to see so many people reporting issues. I've used this extension for over 2 years now, after I replaced my Last Pass-word manager. I've had zero issues and I use this extension on multiple machines (some synced via the same chrome account and some separate installations with work accounts). I use the desktop and mobile versions also and still have had zero issues. I've been very impressed with 1Password, it's ease of use, it's ease of family sharing, and as a developer I love the SSH key integration and other niceties that 1Password engineers and team have provided. I easily recommend it to anyone.
The team seems to keep improving it. It's more usable now. Thank you.
Absolute garbage of an extension implementation. Needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled approximately 2-3 times per week in order to save passwords correctly (same "Unable to save item" error everyone else reports).
Seamless. Love the thoughtful UX flows and attention to detail like font clarity. Switching across platforms is so satisfyingly bug free. I do always use the most updated version of Chrome with windows, iOS, and mac. Definitely an upgrade from the other password managers, including the native browser ones. Only thing is setup is annoying and I did not find an easy way to copy paste the secret key. That is pretty manual and confusing. After that is smooth.
Web extension is broken. Works only for few a week, then need to reinstall; otherwise it won't open - and deletion is the only working option. Latest updates + enabled MFA made this extension unusable. Devs please fix.
It's a shame the extension work so painfully. It could have been a great service. Why on the earth it cannot save anything even if I'm logged in?
It woks perfect!! People saying different aren't using it correctly.
The software doesn't work. The chrome extension repeatedly fails to save passwords without notice. It fails to delete passwords and it fails to archive passwords. It just doesn't work. Lastpass's extension is much better software, sadly.
A much smoother experience than other mainstream password hosting services. The large suite of competitive features makes this a worth buy. (Also a really nice UX)
The service is great but the browser extension is buggy and regularly stops working
Although the 1pass company are great people, this extension absolutely does not function after a few hours of use, it bricks itself prompting a daily reinstall. This was a primary factor in our companies decision to not move forward with 1pass across our network.
This software is complete garbage. It is clunky hard to use and makes errors constantly. It nearly imposible to use across devices as the data base never updates
1Password and the extension are must-haves on any new computer I use.
Doesn't seem to auto fill even though settings are correct. Takes a lot of clicks for it to even show password options. At the moment this app really slows down my day, copy & paste usernames and passwords to get anywhere. Tried disabling, reinstalling etc. Its very hit and miss, more miss. Edit - may be a conflict with other extensions, disabled most and will continue testing - seems better
Completely useless. Does not work at all. Does not autofill, clicking on the extension does nothing or shows a forever loading screen... Super buggy. Really bad for productivity. It used to be awesome but this last 2 - 3 weeks it just sucks and is completely unusable
Very disappointing. Passwords not syncing between browser and desktop application. Browser extension does not fill form data including existing data or newly generated passwords. Also, when trying to save a login, I get an uninformative error message saying it cannot save my login. I really don't understand what I am paying for here, as I have to manually enter and retrieve all my data. Glad I am only a few days into the family plan trial and can cancel without being billed.
Straight forward password manager I use multiple times a day. Tried the others but this one is the best for me.
I've tried 3 separate password managers - 1password has been the most expensive but also the worst. It's got a nice UI but it fails to autofill, auto generate password (during password creation), and save passwords frequently I get errors. Honestly sad.
I've been using this extension for a few years, lately it will never save a password, it is very slow to open, like 15 seconds to open up. The browser extension of the password manager is arguably the most important function, and this extension fails resoundly. What a pos. Sad that I pay for onepassword for this useless piece of junk.
Horrible customer service. There is no phone number, there is only email and you will just get bot answer and no real person. Still waiting for an email response.
1Password is going downhill - Used to be great and now just full of bugs and glitches everywhere.
I am NOT a technie, but even I know that, by definition, a password manager is not going to work seamlessly. If it did, then it is not protecting me. Imagine designing software that 'seamlessly' interacts with every different kind of log in protocol of every single kind of account. It sounds like 'lastpass' was a less clunkie product and look what happened. A breach! I just hope 1Password is keeping me safe. Managing my passwords and sensitive information in one place is a huge advance over what I was doing before.
- Saving password updates creates a new item instead of updating the existing item. - When resetting a password on a website, the Generated Password button that appears over the password field does not fill the field with the password.
Never works properly, never lets me save passwords, always has issues, this software is trash and I unfortunately paid for an entire year!
Without qualification, this is the most indispensable app in my life, and they keep improving it. Occassionally I need to reinstall, and the switch from app store to direct download was painful for the less savvy computer users in the family.
Constantly does not want to fill in passwords or save new ones giving opaque errors
Utter junk, even with the desktop app installed the extension never opens
Works well for me. Has lots of features and integrates with the desktop app seamlessly.
Does not function at all, completely useless. Clicking on the 1pass icon to autofill a form simply does nothing. I've removed and reinstalled the extension multiple times, it just does not work. Unfortunately a terrible experience from an otherwise great company.
Yet another upgrade and yet another completely broken bug. The 1Password extension for Brave browser was not saving the login so decided to uninstall and reinstall the plugin on Brave and now it simply says "Syncing" then has a button to Open 1Password but it just does not work. I am baffled at how something this broken can be released?
this extension is SO buggy. i loved LastPass until their recent breach that caused me to leave but their chrome extension was great. it would actually save passwords, let you copy passwords, etc...1Password's extension hardly ever recognizes the site i'm on but then surprisingly when you log in via their website, the password is there. so clunky! what's the point of the extension if it doesn't autofill it for you?
Working well! Appreciate the quick resolutions.
Something is going on with a recent update here because in Chrome it simply stops filling password fields, even if you try to force it to and only a browser restart fixes it. Please fix this - highly annoying!
I was a die hard lastpass user until they tried to gloss over the data breach. I switched to 1password and wished I had switched a long time ago. The Windows native app, the extensions and the android app all work way better than Lastpass ever did for me. Sometimes the extension fails to add if I just logged in. Example, pull up my bank account site, then login into 1password it won't autofill. I just hit refresh on the page and it autofills just fine.
If your keyboard shortcut doesn't work, remove chrome extension and re-install. Worked for me. When creating a new entry, you have to save it before you leave the page. In LastPass, it would save it and ask you after you submitted the registration (or login) form.
Not working wight now
Works 75% of the time. Not nearly as seamless as LastPass (which had a data breach and is the reason I switched). Does not remember logins. Must sometimes manually copy and paste passwords. Does not autofill reliably. In general, a source of much headaches. Though, obviously, not as much a headache as remembering hundreds of passwords. Please update soon, Password1. Thanks!
1Password in Chrome has worked flawlessly for me without any issues. I've found it to be less pervasive than my old password manager (dashlane) when auto-filling and more reliable when auto-filling.
Working fine for me on Android and on Linux with Chrome.
1Password has been really good in the past. Meanwhile, the plugin keeps crashing, so you can no longer insert or add passwords. You have to keep logging out and back in or restarting the browser for it to work again. Please get your plugin under control, otherwise I will switch to another service.
So many bugs. Have been encountering a lot of problems in past 1 year.. Used to be 5/5 star but now its quite bad.
This extension constantly fails to work and is in stuck in a loading state its really annoying and i have to rely on the desktop app which is constantly pestering me to re-login...
I don't know why this extension only gets 3 stars. I use it on all my browsers and profiles and it works great. It's an easy way to have 1Password fill website logins for me.
Works good, is fast, money well spent.
Sadly both chrome extension and mobile app really went downhill in the last year... I have to copy-paste most of the passwords manually now...
Extremely buggly. Constantly logs you off and sometimes can't even log you in! Passwords prompts don't even work anymore. Used to be a great product but not sure what happened with the recent update.
Continuous Sync problems. Extension randomly stops syncing with vault and even uninstalling and reinstalling does not sync it. A screen with spinning wheel pops up and then another screen to login to 1Password and then back to the spinning wheel. We have the family package and 2 Chrome profiles. My wife's has no such problems. This only started about three or four days ago.
Touch id not working after latest update Really annoying to insert password everytime
When clicking "Save password" underneath a form field, it's no longer working on any site. Just says something like "Failed to save item". It's fair to assume this can happen once in a while on some sites.. but it's now happening 100% of the time. I've uninstalled the extension and am re-installing it. After checking on one site, that seems to have fixed it. This means they have a caching bug. One of the most horrendous bugs I've seen in my 10 years working with frontend/javascript.
Used to be good. Now it's just buggy. Trying to take over my Microsoft login - but I'm already logged in. Which leads to a lot of popup in my screen. Reminds me of the internet when popups was a (annoying) thing.
Absolutely does not work. Shows that I have no favorites, when the app shows many, will not fill in passwords on my desktop. It used to work fine and suddenly stopped working so I can't recommend it as an app.
I really liked it a lot at first - started using in the fall of 2022. As of Feb 2023, though, it's become ridiculous. Even though I'm logged in, I can't go to settings without logging in again - with the special key. I can't save new passwords (just get message "unable to save item"). I've tried saving credit cards, and have not successfully used one even once. I have to keep opening my old pw manager more and more frequently. It's not looking good for continuing 1Password.
The latest update is giving a ton of issues. Clicking the icon does nothing, or it shows a black square that does nothing. Have to restart the browser and it works for a few times then stops again.
The recent update is absolute garbage. The extension fails to open and stays stuck on a loading window. Only fix is to stop and restart the browser completely. Totally unacceptable. Especially for something that users pay for and for the most basic of features.
latest 1Password update is hot garbage. constantly crashes and is just crazy frustrating overall. I understand bugs get through, but these issues have been going on for weeks.
The new 1Password Chrome extension is extremely buggy. It's laggy and often dies and doesn't display anything. I have to drop all I'm doing and restart the browser because of this extension. The first generation of 1Password worked well and never gave me any issues. Now since the new subscription-based model, it's just barely usable. As soon as Chrome and Safari add OTP support I will likely dump this broken app.
Ever since the last update, it doesn't work _at all_ in Chrome on macOS (totally standard setup). Clicking the extension does nothing. Pretty scary, considering we are entrusting this team with our passwords.
1 Password, please make simple thing works. I am regretted to switch over 1Password. Failed to do simple things like auto-filling the password on the website. Not prompting for saving new password when nothing matches on the existing password vault. This is something simple enough that can be provided by freebie like KeePassXC. Not sure why I am paying for a service that cannot fulfill basic functionalities. Avoid.
I've never written a review for an extension before. This latest update makes this basically unusable. I have to uninstall.
They said, get LastPass it's the best (got breached). They said switch to 1Password, Ryan Remolds recommends it (it kinda sucks). I said, try Keeper. Boom! Why didn't I do that first!
Pure garbage. Perfect example of a poor Product team running a poor Dev team running a poor QA. Where to star? Add a password manually to the vault.... done. Your in browser extension doesn't see it right away. WONDERFUL. But, hey, you should use the on-page "save password" option instead, right? Yeah, doesn't work. Totally regret paying for this and as much as the competitor sucked at least they got these SIMPLE THIGNS right.
I signed up for a 1password trail because of hacking issues with lastpass. 1password barely works as a Chrome extension. I'll try to add a new site and it says "unable to add". have to log out and back in to get it to work. That stink. On a new site, it only asks randomly if I want to save the new id/pwd. Other times I have to click to make it work. When I go to a site where I've saved the id/pwd, sometimes it offers to enter, and sometimes not. When it does offer, sometimes there's a circle to clic, and sometimes a rectangle with the site name. It's confusing. It's a very poor user experience.
I rarely write reviews. But this is probably the only way I'll get the people who develop this extension to listen. After your last update, this sucks. Plain and simple. It's now far slower than before, to the point that it can take up to a minute before suggestions for saved accounts pop up. Sometimes, when starting the browser, the extension does not load at all, so I have to restart and hope that it works the next time. Even then, I still have to unlock the extension AGAIN, which is extremely annoying. If I regularly use the browser, why should I have to constantly re-enter the password to unlock it again? This has gone from bad to worse recently, and it seems to be the case with most browser extensions. Please fix this, or move to a completely standalone desktop solution, but this cannot continue. I'm going to start looking for alternatives.
I've used 1Password for many years (like more than a decade). I used to love it. In my experience, with recent updates (past year or so) it's going down-hill, and fast. Increasing difficult to use. Increasingly poor integration of the browser add-on (Chrome) and the macOS desktop app. It's getting to the point where I am considering looking for an alternative. Looking over the reviews, I can see I'm not the only way having this poor experience with 1Password. Such a pity. I think it's a case of the old aphorism, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it". In my opinion the developers have been needlessly adding questionable and buggy features which are degrading the quality of what was once an excellent password manager.
Used to be really good, now it just doesn't work properly. Can't generate a new password and save it, shortcuts stopped working, the google login thing isn't suitable when you might use multiple google accounts. Not a fan of the changes.
App doesn't connect with the Desktop app. Doesn't work with the apple watch or appleID. I have to write out my password every single time I open the application. Also super buggy. "Copy" button doesn't work. It asks you to updates a password before you have updated it, without password history. The integrated 2FA is a security risk and redundent if someone has access to your 1pass account.
Works fine now that they fixed the desktop app not unlocking the extension. Yay!
Recently switched from LastPass based on 1Password's reputation. Not impressed so far based on reliability. The extension will randomly not recognize valid login screens for which it has password info. It also hangs randomly. Clicking on the icon pops up a black screen with a spinning "processing" indicator and just sits there. Resolving the hang requires one or more browser restarts. This issue repeats randomly throughout the day and proves incredibly frustrating. I only employ three other extensions: Privacy Badger, Ghostery and smartUp Gestures. None have seemed to conflict with 1Password. Still pending technical support and have not received any feedback in their community forum.
It automatically gets locked when I quit Chrome EVEN WHEN Automatically lock 1Password is turnt off
It's so buggy lately it's hardly usable anymore. Not sure how they can justify a subscription for such a buggy product
The thing is just not working sometimes. Not saving the data, doesn't sync with the phone app and so on
Switched from Lastpass after the awful data breach in which it was disclosed that URLs were not even encrypted. The extension is installed on macOS Ventura and Windows 10. Both work perfectly. Importing hundreds of logins and notes from my lastpass vault worked flawlessly. The form detection is faster and just as accurate as Lastpass. But the best feature of 1Password is the unique secret key that is needed to unlock your vault on a new device. This means that even if 1Password has a breach like Lastpass, it won't matter unless the attacker is also able to steal the secret key from one of your devices. While this is possible, it is much more unlikely that an attacker will be successful at stealing your vault, your vault password, and your secret key. This is the best security model I've encountered and restores my confidence in using a cloud password manager. At this point, I would not go back to lastpass even if they somehow made it secure.
Sometimes it summons TouchID, sometimes not. The icon it renders in the text input, sometimes this summons 1Password, sometimes it just renders a tooltip telling you to go click a 1Password button elsewhere. Sometimes when you choose an item it doesn't autofill upon pressing enter, you have to click the autofill button. This extension's behavior is a dice roll. It wasn't this way 3 years ago.
Works better than my old PW manager LastPass that lost my vault in a breach. Also like the 1Password UI better overall. Sure there are somethings I did like about my last vendor, right click generate password for example. But overall I think 1Password is better.
I used to be able to just purchase this piece of software for a reasonable cost. Now they decided to extract as much money as possible, so they charge you a monthly fee. This will mean you end up paying them WAY more money. And the software doesn't even work as well as it used to. Look for another alternative.
The App used to be so much better. It seems to be getting worse since they started charging subscription. I have been a user for years and previously would've been a 5 star review, but it's working its way down quickly. Hopefully they can get it back to where it once was, or I likely won't be renewing.
Great, but since the last chromium update this extension is useless - back to copy and paste Ventura Mac 13.1 vivaldi 5.6.2867.62 (Stable channel) (arm64) edge Version 108.0.1462.46 (Official build) (arm64) chrome Version 109.0.5414.119 (Official Build) (arm64)
It works well, but I would like full integration with the application 1password installed in the operating system. Now the authorization works separately, and the possibility in GoogleChrome to authorize with TouchId is not available, why a separate lock and separate authorization in the browser, if all these settings are in the application 1password. If this is something I do not understand, please explain how to configure it.
Never works to create or save new passwords, completely useless.
simply rubbish.. unable to copy or use generated password, unable to save logins automatically, everytime the extension is needed, its forcing login via web browser to 1Password. If I wasn't forced to use this app due to company policy I drop it like a hot potato
Adding another data point. macOS 13.2 Chrome 109 and this 2.6.0 version of this plugin -- it no longer integrates with the 1Password desktop app. Biometrics useless. PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP. thx.
Since the latest version it no longer integrates with the 1password mac app. Looks like everyone else is complaining about the same issue.
Since version 2.6.0 the extension is disconnected from the 1Password app on my Apple MacBook Pro. I can no longer sign in using touch ID or unlock the extension using the 1Password app. I can confirm that this is true on multiple Apple MacBooks. I am sure that 1Password will resolve this issue, but felt the need to make this issue known like other reviews have. Thank you 1Password for a great product and for keeping our passwords protected!
stuff keeps braking. Touch-id is not working anymore.
When the extension was version 2.52 it worked perfect with 1password on my mac and would work with the actual app install for 1password. Once it was updated to 2.60 it stopped working for me. I have to manually put the password in the browser's 1password extension since it looks now like the extension and the 1password app do not communicate. This totally ruined my workflow and I thought it was something going on with the computer. This also has to do with the new 1password update from 8.9.13 to 8.9.14. Both of these updates between the app and the extension broke the whole thing
I loved 1Password and the Chrome extension until it updated today. Yesterday I could click on the 1Password icon in a password field, use my macBook fingerprint, and autofill password fields - seamlessly and securely. Now I have to click on the 1Password icon in the toolbar as well, manually type in the password (even if 1Password is open on my desktop), and manually copy the info into the fields. This Chrome extension update is not working!
Chrome appears to the only browser with issues. No issues with Edge or Firefox. Chrome extension is a disaster. After 3 hours of research and trying multiple fixes to repair, nothing. Setting 1Password as primary in Chrome didn't help.
Worst product on the market ever. First it requires you to come up with 14(!!!) symbol password, then it locks you out with ambiguous message - Password is incorrect(when your account is locked) and no matter how much attempts you do you will not be able to input your correct password. Best part comes after - even thought you have "recovery suite" that was issued at the moment of account creation, it is good for nothing! You can just safely delete it and forget about it - it does not serves any purpose. YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO RESTORE ACCOUNT AFTER LOCKOUT. Once again. Application is trash. Product is trash. User experience is abysmal.
Works good on Windows and Mac
The app works very well and the design and functionality are completely satisfactory
I don't know where this developer and project went wrong, but using the desktop app with browser extensions has gotten steadily and successively worse over time to the point that I'm back to manually typing in half my passwords. Regrettable.
About twice a month, I'll get a "database error" when trying to sign into 1password on the Google Chrome extension, and the only way to fix this is to remove and re-add the extension. I'm not sure why that bug exists and hasn't been fixed.
Horrible experience if you use the extension in Chrome on a Mac. The 1Password app constantly takes over as your primary window and stops you from what you were doing. Never used to be like this. Seems each update lately has made 1Password worse overall in many ways.
The 1Password App on MacOS and Windows works perfectly. The Chrome Extension on Windows is works as it should. However, the MacOS Chrome Extension is constantly causing me problems and constantly requiring that I log into the App or Website or both. Even when set to never lock it constantly locks. Please fix this if you want to keep customers.
everyday a new worst experience. The apps works, this extension doesn't
Love 1Password, but the extension seems worse. It used to work a lot better (can't remember if it was before 1P v8 or not). Now, every time I log in to the extension (CTRL + SHIFT + X), it opens a new tab saying I've been logged out. I can easily close that tab and continue on (so what's the point of opening the tab anyway?), but it's annoying to have to do it each and every time. It never used to do that before. Also, when registering on a site, if you enter an email address and choose "Save in 1Password," the save will fail because you haven't chosen a password yet. If you go to enter a password and choose the "Use Suggested Password" option, nothing happens. I don't have nearly the same amount of issues on iOS with that Safari extension. Saving logins or using the suggested password work great and save new logins in 1Password fine. By far the chrome extension is the worst experience as a whole with 1Password and I'd love to see it fixed. Currently running v2.5.2 1Password on Chrome v108, windows 11
Great App, Like other's I switched from LastPass and have been rather pleased with it's ease of use and organization capabilities. I have not had any plugin issues, I'm using 1Password on two work computers and three home computers. No issues on any of them. I've switched my family over as well and they are not as technical as I am. They seem to like the ease of use as well and have not had issues.
I was a Lastpass user, but with the most recent Lastpass breach, I decided to move on. After trying a few other password managers, 1Password became my favorite. I'm now 100% switched over to 1Password for myself and my family, and it's so much easier to use than Lastpass, easier to organize, and easier to share passwords with family. Works very well. I have not had any issues with my migration and or everyday use. Not sure why it has so many low reviews.
I am using 1Password for Mac 8.9.13 and Chrome Version 109.0.5414.87. My 1Password Chrome extension has recently stopped working properly. The extension no longer fills in passwords on any sites I visit using Chrome. I have tried removing and reinstalling the extension and that hasn't worked. I have made sure I'm updated with the latest version of Chrome. I have also restarted my computer and that hasn't worked either. The 1Password extension in Safari appears to be working fine so this issue for me is just related to the extension in Chrome.
I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. Previously, when I switched password managers, it was a simple process of importing the CSV file from the old one to the new one and it just worked. It evidently isn't that simple with 1Password. Although I was able to import the CSV file, I just couldn't get it to work on filling in passwords. It kept saying "No Record". Although the price was right, the software isn't. I have to delete and go with a competitor.
The desktop app is fantastic but 1password and Chrome don't play nicely together. In password fields I get both the Chrome password auto-fill and the 1password auto-fill but the Chrome one covers the 1password auto-fill dropdown so it's useless. I have to go to the desktop app, copy the password, and come back to Chrome to paste it. I have disabled auth-fill passwords in Chrome but the setting appears to be completely ignored by both Chrome and 1password. I will continue using 1password because, at this point, we have nearly 1,000 pieces of secure data stored, but the extension is terrible.
Overall it's a very polished extension that works well most of the times. However, I missed how convenient it was to launch the password generator in the LastPass extension (ctrl+g).
I'm trying to leave LastPass because of their security breach. 1Password looked like the best answer for the family. But I've been trying to use and learn it for a week now and am extremely unhappy with it. The browser extension doesn't do basic functions well at all, compared to LastPass which is dead simple and reliable. In 1P trying to change a password requires it to generate your new password. It does not offer to do this automatically as does LP. After a couple hours I found the option, but it is hard to find and takes multiple steps to access. Also the search function is clunky. Autofill sometimes works and other times not. Adjusting the parameters of password generation is far harder than LP. And the overall organization of 1P is obtuse and hard to understand.
perfect
It has been great using 1Password. There has been an issue for me that it needs to install the app on the Mac, which my older laptop is not supported. I have just updated to the newer version of the Chrome extension on my desktop. However, I am no longer able to resize the popup window nor the size of each frame. I can only see a fraction of the details that are needed to be seen, which becomes a pain to use :/
Was trying out 1Password to see if I wanted to switch from LastPass. No Emergency Access feature was a big negative, too hard to find the password generator when creating accounts, but this browser extension was the kicker. Really terrible and pretty non-functional, particularly compared to how well the LastPass one works. I couldn't even get it to save the password I created for their own community forum! Hard pass on this one.
Mostly an improvement over LastPass. Switched for obvious reasons. I find it works just as well or even better than LastPass in most areas. One issue is the app does crash and need to be re-installed on iPad for some reason but so for its only happed twice. Hopefully its an iOS issue. But still I think I made the better choice.
Works very well. Not sure why it has so many low reviews. It's my favorite password manager out of all the ones I've used - the only real downside would be that it's paid software. You get what you pay for basically. There are a few minor issues here and there that pop up with new updates but they seem to get resolved quickly.
Trying to switch from lastpass. Chrome extension just keeps showing a loading icon and blank box. uninstalled, cleared everything, tried on another pc and still the same. Think I will look elsewhere :/
Like many, I am a LastPass refugee.1Password is an excellent password manager with an easy-to-use UI. I like that it can fill OTP's from its own authenticator. Switching from LastPass was relatively painless, and credit card expiration dates were the only thing that did not come over correctly. The tools for managing multiple vaults and administering a family are fairly straightforward. Cons: 1Password personal accounts do not appear to support push 2FA like Microsoft or DUO Mobile, so you need to get OTP's from Microsoft or Google authenticator.
Wanted to switch from Lastpass. First the import didn't work properly, so I had to do it like three times. After I couldn't save the passwords in the chrome extension. Deleted the extension, deleted cache, tried again. Nothing. Now I can't even login in the extension. It shows "Open 1Password" button, but clicking it doesn't do anything. Sometimes it shows "syncing", but nothing happens. Can't recommend this to anyone.
Easy, no problems migating from another password manager. This one is more secure and does the job well
Fast and easy. Gets the job done.
One of the best password managers out there. I have tried them all and after the numerous of Lastpass breaches, I decided to switch to 1Password which I have not regret.
Has gone downhill massively, now barely works most of the time.
I'm coming from LastPass and I actually like the changes-- the UI definitely could use some work but it's very usable at this time (of my writing). I did miss how LP would show me how many logins I had that matched with the website, but the "suggestions" in 1P are quite good as well.
Been a long-term paid user of 1Password7 and have updated to 1Password8 a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be as convenient as the old version in that it does not auto-suggest the login information in Google Chrome Extension anymore. Syncing passwords created on my iPhone/Mac also takes a few hours to reach my Windows desktop app too whereas it used to sync in under a minute (Yes I have manually Synced too but it doesn't load newly created login details from my Mac/iPhone devices). Even when I manually add login details to 1Password, it doesn't suggest them whenever I try to log in to the site and I have to open up the 1P app on my desktop and copy + paste the details to log in. Going to keep 1P as my main passowrd manager since it works fine on my Mac/iPhone. Hopefully they fix some of the Chrome Extension issues soon.
Touch ID on Mac - 2.5.1 does not work.
I did a test run of a bunch of password managers include BitWarden, LastPass, etc, and 1Password was the one that seems to be the best designed. Everything works great. There do seem to be a lot of reviews here from people who don't know how to do basic things like change the lock timeout setting, but that's easy to do in settings.
I migrated from LastPass to 1Password about a week ago. I had over 350 stored passwords that I exported from LastPass and imported into 1Password. Then I spent many hours changing them all. I'm finally finished, and can say that I'm very impressed with 1Passsword. No issues, and everything works as expected. I had a couple of questions when I started, but the support community is on the ball with quick answers. The master password times out after 10 minutes by default, so unless you make that time longer, you will have to enter it multiple times in a day if you are on a computer. On your phone you can use the fingerprint scanner, so no big deal. I don't understand all of the bad reviews. I am a programmer, and have used a passord manager for years, so maybe I'm not the average user.
Something is very broken about this plugin. It won't sync or load. When it did in the past, it wouldn't update passwords. This is just... not working
WAAAYY too many logins required!! It works well, but my computer is secured several different ways - I don't have to have to put in my vault master password 10 times a day! I don't know if it's because they are pushing too many software updates, or they just don't have things figured out yet - but it's ANNOYING!! There at least be a setting that I can choose how often to required the master password... like, at most, once a day. It's better than nothing, but I miss LastPass.
Don't know what they did but my goodness it's a total mess now. Not opening correctly, not filtering, not working with touch ID, etc. etc.
Stopped showing Primary Vault in browser extension. Shows only cloud synced Vaults.
The core functionality of this extension working with a lot of web sites is pretty good—better I'd say than LastPass, which seems to have more conflicts and inabilities to fill the fields. Problems: - Security without the app is terrible, since most of these settings are kept in the app. On accounts or browsers where the app isn't present like Chromebooks, Ghost browser, etc. you'll have to constantly be entering your master password since the extension "locks" more than it's ever unlocked. - Auto-fill is annoying since after making a selection from the field dropdown, a modal pops up that you have to okay. Why? I've already intentionally chosen my autofill. There should be no reason to re-confirm my selection. - Locking because of browser update is another annoyance. LastPass doesn't do this, I really don't understand why 1Password would. Just let me use the extension until it's convenient for me to restart Chrome, seriously. - Setting up new devices is pretty annoying with the mandatory entry of the really long string of characters. On devices and accounts that don't already have an easy pathway to share clipboards or use the QR code, it's a seriously clunky process that doesn't make family members happy to adopt 1Password.
App is awesome! When entering main password should add message when caps-lock in on!
1P is awesome, but the latest update removed autofill button :(
I am frustrated by 1P many times a day.
thanks for destroying the app. A cant use my local vault anymore -> useless app. wasted money
I'm a long time full licence user but the subscription model sucks. Will not auto-fill on one page but will on another in the same browser. Have to sign in multiple times on each browser, need to add chrome extension on EVERY profile, hey I run 5 or 6, painful after signing in on my macbook. The old paid for life model worked flawlessly but not this. Can anyone recommend anything else? Maybe I'll go back to my old licence, can you do that?
It had been a nice tool for a while, but now every time i visit a website with a password, 1password gives a huge popup blocking me from using the website asking me to save the password. There is no button to turn it off. This addon is now useless.
I really want to like this tool, great feature-set on paper, but I swear it's worse and worse with every release. This version of the plug-in seems to perform OK for me, not seeing the hangs described by others, but I do get constantly prompted to re-authenticate, often once every few minutes, opening a new browser tab every time. Happens in Chrome and in Edge Chromium, and not the first time I've seen this bug (got fixed in a previous version, and then seemingly reintroduced in this version). Long story short I'm only using the tool now for work, because I have to, and am avoiding the use of this plug-in where I can. Long since ditched it for personal use, there are better cheaper/free tools available that work the way they claim.
Whenever I try to autofill a username/password Chrome freezes up. This has been going on for a few months and they don't seem to be able to fix it. Additionally, while the previous 1password extension allowed quick cmd+\ to login, now sometimes you need to press ok in a confirm box, sometimes you need to press the extension icon in the toolbar and other times it works immediately. Very confusing.
This extension still sucks, after many years. The ways in which it sucks have been changing somewhat along the way, but they could never quite make it work well, it seems.
The desktop app is fine, but chrome extension on windows laptop doesn't open in 80% of time. Never seen such strange behavior with chrome extension on macOS btw. This issue persist more than a year, and is not fixed in any version.
I see some people complain about performance, but I haven't run into any slowness on any device I've used (4 different PCs with different specs). Biggest thing I've run into is with some sites the auto fill doesn't work quite as well as you would expect.
Easy to use. It feels secure and still it doesn't put too many obstacles for a daily work, which is pleasant experience. Very few logins don't autofill but nothing extremly bothering considering all that with few clicks and shortcuts I can find© login details I need. Only thing which is bothering me is that in some forms 1Password offers to fill my details like email and adress and that needs to be always confirmed by promt. I don't see a need for that promt.
I like 1Password in general, but the latest update of the Chrome extension is SUPER aggressive in suggesting to log in to sites that have seamlessly been logged into in the meantime (e.g. Azure portal). This leaves me with huge overlay pop-ups with login-suggestions on pages that I am already logged into. Not a great experience. Other than that, it works fine.
Never works
I have used 1Password for a long time, and I can no longer recommend it. As many others here have mentioned in recent reviews, the extension is causing Chrome to hang for >30 seconds when copying values from the app or when filling out any login form. I have been communicating with their Support team on this issue for the last 3 weeks, and there seems to be a number of acknowledged extension bugs, but no timeline on when these issues will get fixed. This is really disappointing, and if issues persist, I feel like I will need to recommend that our company move away from using 1Password for our shared accounts. Do not download this extension on your Mac unless you want to have these interruptions repeatedly throughout your day of the spinning beach ball! UPDATE: I found a workaround for the freezing issues I've been having (on Mac). System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility and turn 1Password off. Works like a charm!
Using 1PW version 7 paid for life version, no subscription, and this extension never syncs with any attached account. Says it's attached, but nada data in the extension. So I give this a fail.
While the 1Password app is great, the browser extension leaves a lot to be desired, *and has been this way for years*. The biggest issue: It's SLOW. When you first interact with extension from a "cold" state, it frequently causes the entire browser to be unresponsive for up to 10 seconds. Not just the 1Password UX...the entire browser.
Beautiful UI, reactive applications and a system store developer friendly data like SSH keys and all. Perfect ! Thanks.
Poor performances
It forces disabling google chrome autofilling addresses. No reason why google chrome's autofill has to be turned off.
I open the browser, use your extension drop down, pick the account I want to log into, and click autofill. This rarely fills in the username and password. So then I have to take an extra step - I will go back to click on 1pass extension once more, and would like to select the login site again. The “suggestions” automatically defaults. NOT ONCE has this option displayed anything I am using, not once has it been helpful. Having to make extra steps manually going back to “all items” on the dropdown every single time is very inconvenient infuriating. Why even use the extension if it is fricken easier just to open the Windows application and manually copy and paste? DELETE your “suggestions” from the drop down or make it an option to NEVER default to it.
1Password is a great service, but the Chrome extension has a lot to improve. It is slow, sometimes it makes browser not respond, autofill sometimes just doesn't work, so you have to repeat etc. In general the extension doesn't feel stable
I came to use 1password as i was hacked with all my passwords and this program has not failed me, it gives my random passwords that i am hopeless in making up forever passwords and saving my passwords which is a lot easier than writing then down and keeping them in a safe place where i can forget where they are.
1Password has its issues for sure, but still the best password manager I could find
A bit surprised by the negative comments I've just read here ... Extension works absolutely flawless for me, either on Windows or Linux machines, and whether on Chrome, Brave, or Edge (have not tested Firefox, iOS or Android yet). This thing definitely changed my online life! It's only when you start using a centralized credentials manager that you measure the extent of the mental burden you were actually carrying!
1Password is great, but the Chrome extension is absolute garbage. It extremely buggy and infuriating.
I've been using this Chrome extension on my Macbook for years without any issues. I would have given 4-5 stars until the last few months, when there has been a really long lag when attempting to unlock 1PW from the browser. I believe it originated when I updated to the Monterey OS. Not a fan. Once unlocked I am not experiencing issues with filling the passwords or any other features. But this is something I encounter daily and it's really annoying. I hope a fix will be prioritized since clearly lots of people are having issues.
Well. Does not work in Brave Browser. Does not show up in tool bar. Is anyone working on fixing this? It used to work so well. Disappointing.
Wow, holy god, you literally took a perfect, working product, and RUINED IT!!!!!! I literally cannot get this piece of garbage to work on my browsers because I refuse to update to your worthless buggy trash version 8. Please fire the pathetic engineers behind this buggy trash and rollback version 8 until it isn't utterly worthless.
This is hot garbage, almost entirely useless. Never saves passwords and doesn't autofill. It doesn't even understand its already downloaded in chrome. When you click the auto fill it does nothing, I have to do 11 clicks to copy a password and then the password isn't even correct.
Absolute garbage UX and UI. for a couple days now, new passwords won't show up in the dropdown. And now the addon was updated and just shows a blank page when opening. Actively looking for a replacement now
Utter rubbish. Terrible UI & it's bloody impossible to export your vaults afterwards so good luck switching to something proper.
Definitely worth the switch from LastPass.
Gets stuck loading when I click the button in my Chrome toolbar on an M1 mac, so pretty useless for me. I'm not sure if it would load if I gave it enough time but I don't have the patience to wait around and see. It should load in a maximum of 1-2 seconds otherwise it's not useful from a UX standpoint.
The extension is not helpful in its current state. I used to like how it played nice with Chrome's autofill features. It didn't try to take over entering address, phone number, email entries into forms. It does now. I want to enter it once and autofill that stuff. Something changed. 1Password seems to want me to re-enter that information each time I use the extension on a site. The 1Password Chrome extension interferes with the browser's ability to autofill address and other information. It seems that the 1Password Extension is attempting to manage filling information on a per-site basis. IMO, the existing Chrome feature is doing a great job at this. I've decided that I prefer the convenience of Chrome's autofill over 1Password's. I've disabled the 1Password extension and I hope that the user experience will improve. In its current state, it does not help. What concerns me is how I will need to manually update 1Password when I change passwords going forward. I used to get asked each time. Now, there's a good chance that I'll forget, and 1Password won't get updated.
Another fine, wet POS from the developer - click the extension icon in Chrome, at least it now identifies the site you're on, but, hit Autofill and the extension goes away, not filling in anything. I am going to make it my mission this subscription period to find a better password manager and flush this thing.
I have to constantly sign in even though I have selected to never lock. 50% of the time the autofill seems to work. I have had to change so many passwords because of this. Also, not very clear how to get to your 'home' screen to see the list of all your accounts. Needs to be more user friendly. I am about to give up and cancel my account.
Chrome is lagging horribly when attempting to autocomplete.
History of password generator works 80% of the time, inserting suggested password on password field works 60% of the time, unreliable
I really couldn't tell you what people are tripping over. This application is great, and so is the extension. I absolutely love the cross-browser integration and the fact that I can adjust the zoom level in the application. I cannot tell you how many apps make me squint for no reason!
I don't even know where to start; it does not appear any testing was done...either that or somebody felt meeting a delivery date was more important than delivering a working product (bonus tied the delivery date?) This was my first experience with a password manager. 1Passport received glowing reviews from the 'experts', did not read google reviews. Unfortunate. Anyway, I wasted about 4 hours just trying to do basic vault creation, and getting one login set up. Nothing was intuitive, its unclear what the relationship between the extension (which was displayed in the corner of the screen) and the web page is supposed to be, and worst...stuff just plain did not work. Cancelled 1st day of 14 day trial, will see if anything changes in the next couple of weeks, maybe resolving the issues will be easier than it would appear.
The passwords NEVER sync between my desktop app and the chrome plugin. It's honestly the worst.
After upgrade to 1 Password 8, this plugin become really slow. It even makes Chrome no response.
Generate Password option just doesn't do anything - shows a generated password but no amount of clicking it will populate the field with the generated password or save it to 1Password. Mass confusion between settings in 1Password extension, windows app, and website. Just feels disorganised and confusing.
The extension stopped working for me, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. It does not autofill for me and sometimes the extension does not even show up with any usernames and passwords.
stop controlling the autofill for address in chrome. If you cannot autofill address very well like the built-in autofill, at least give us the option to use the built-in autofill. But you just have to lock this option in chrome. For god's sake, why???
Just unbelievably slow. It feels unusable because it's so slow. As my primary use of 1pw revolves around filling in credentials from the browser, this makes the whole value proposition of 1pw extremely limited. (My other use of 1pw is in iOS, and that is it's own mess.)
Very slow and need to update manually when ever password changed
The 1password shortcut is super laggy and slow. YOU NEED TO FIX IT.
Using Brave and it works most of the time. Every now and then I get a message that the extension needs repair (because the toolbar icon simply disappears). Seems a bit unstable at present.
This extension doesn't work at all which is unfortunate since I never had an issue with the beta version I had been using for years. It barely saves passwords, doesn't log in correctly, doesn't suggest passwords when creating new accounts... It just doesn't work at all anymore.
Horrible experience. It lets you sign in once out of 4-5 times. Not reliable at all.
Still trying to sign in to the Chrome Extension. #SpinngingWheelofDeathProblems
Near to unusable recently: When it initialized (has to unlock?) it freeze chrome on macOS for up to 2 minutes - spindump is even happening -> Maybe time to switch to another Password-Manager.
Since upgrading to the newer extension it often hangs for long periods of time trying to sign in. Also, the autofill feature simply doesn't work and in some cases I can see what passwords I have available but not the contents of the passwords (this part is completely blank). When I re-open chrome it has forgotten that I was signed in before and I have to sign in again using 2FA.
The extensios is frequently failing, I always get "Someting went Wrong". Please fix your chrome extension, I'm not paying for this.
Something happened with a recent release where all auto-filling has stopped working. Restarted Chrome, installed latest updates, re-installed the extension, restarted the desktop app; nothing fixes it. It's now virtually unusable. 1Password please fix ASAP!
It just doesn't work.
Continuous Sync problems. Extension randomly stops syncing with vault and even uninstalling and reinstalling does not sync it. Upon contacting support, they had me do a whole rigmarole with settings and log out and in, and it started syncing temporarily and then stopped again. Just give us a sync button. When I log into the extension it opens the web vault and requires me to log into that as well. Sometimes even requires a third login to the desktop app. Requires a log in every time I edit an entry.
It just... doesn't work. Tried on multiple PCs, rebooting, removing/adding, making sure no other browser extensions are enabled. Doesn't work on Firefox either. Can't sign in, the "open 1password" button doesn't work, it doesn't save passwords. Just a big dud.
Been using 1P for many years, held out by using the classic extension until I finally switched for better integration and Touch ID support. The desktop app is fine but the extension is awful. I don't have any issues with accessing my vaults etc., but every time I interact with a login form I get a beachball and the whole browser hangs for 10-20 seconds or so. This is on a new M1 Max Macbook Pro. The classic extension worked a lot better and I would prefer if the extension was not trying to inject itself into the websites.
has done nothing but make things difficult
I am not even sure they care about how horrible this extension is. I have LastPass premium and it just works. I was looking for an alternative as recently LastPass took my money but didn't renew the subscription, essentially preventing me from using the app. This is what brought me to 1Password and I sincerely want to run back as fast as my two legs can carry me, maybe I should add my hands for added agility. I have uninstalled and installed the extension more times than the world existed. It doesn't work! AutoFill doesn't work. I got the Mac app, well... it doesn't do anything. Why should I struggle this much to use an app which was supposed to make my life easier? I am a system administrator and if I am struggling to get this app to work you can tell the world 1Password is doomed. I am moving on!
its awesome!
Just upgraded to 1P8 and the extension now seems to get stuck in some kind of login loop as it keeps opening up browser tabs to login to one of the 2 accounts i use. The only way for me to stop this is to close the browser(Brave) completely and restart. I love the mobile apps and the functionality within those, but using 1pass for web has become an annoyance since the upgrade. Hope 1pass is serious about the feedback and prioritises work here or they will lose a significant user base as web is one the main spaces I, and many others, use password managers.
On macbook, you have to manually input the password, instead of prompting the fingerprint before....I regret bought the 1 year plan of 1password....
Just made an account today. Extension will not work just spins at the password screen.
I can't believe Agilebits is slowly but surely letting their famed app burn to the ground. The reviews across all platforms are heartbreaking. The erosion started to appear with 1P7 but is now completely evident with 1P8. It's made me look to other password managers that quite frankly have caught up considerably. I've used 1P Jan 2011 (almost 12 years!) and have recommended it dozens of times to friends and also got my entire family on it. Well, those days are sadly behind us. I don't dare recommend this app now. Even people who are moderately tech savvy are like how the f*** do you use this. And it was so great for so long! Agilebits is 100% unapologetic about the changes too which is basically the writing on the wall. Sadly, all good things come to an end, even our beloved 5-star 1Password :-(
Whatever they did to the extension with the 8.0 release, it's horribly slow, doesn't work, requires multiple authentications, or a browser restart to function. There's no way to "auto" the autofill, as it asks every time, and requiring added input to actually get the field filled. What's up, guys, and I'm not talking about the relative direction, opposite of down. I really liked this product but now it's fallen off hard, and I'm actually considering going back to Dashlane.
It was kind of working in the previous version, with 1Password 8 it's completely broken - makes your browser hang for 1-2 minutes when trying to fill in a password. A nightmare
Completely takes over the browser's autofill experience. Gives you 0 control. Breaks all your address and other browser default autofill functionality. This extension used to be awesome but the 1Password team seems to have stopped caring about user experience.
I can't believe the negative reviews for this extension. I expect that some will complain because of the yearly fee. I've used 1Password for several years (back to the 1Password 4 days), and it's never failed yet. Passwords are never lost, auto-fill works flawlessly, and security is top-notch. I've used 1Password in multiple environments (Windows, Mac OS, etc.) with multiple browsers, and everything just works! The latest version of 1Password 8 is also great! As a retired programmer with decades of experience, I would highly recommend this product.
1password itself is a 5 star, but the new chrome extension is not. Every time it switches the desktop to unlock with touch id, it get's worse when it doesn't return to the same desktop when using multiple screens. It also requires multiple actions (mouse/keyboard) to be able to fill the fields, it used to be just one or two key strokes away and now is hell. Pease bring back the smooth UX.
Amazing, everything work great and I feel very secure Thank you 1password
Chrome extension doesn't work with 1Password.. Have installed and uninstalled a dozen times. Absolute rubbish functionality. You have to cut and paste every single entry
I really wanted to like this. I have used 1password and the chrome extension for many years. However over the last 4 months or so this extension has completely fallen apart. sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes my password unlocks it, sometimes I enter the password and it just stays closed. Not sure what they updated but it really is a shame having to go back to the desktop app just to log into sites. Sometimes instead of adding "features" and making things "better" you should just leave them alone and let them work. All I need to do is access my passwords, thats it, straightforward, or at least it was.
Does exactly what it says on the tin, and doing an expert from L*stpass to import into 1Password was very easy. I did encounter one hurdle when initially signing in: 1Password's login gets blocked by uBlock Origin with the default settings. This was easily remedied by allow-listing 1password.com within uBlock Origin (clicking the big "power button" in uBlock on the 1Password site and reloading the login page also works, but I decided to specifically allow all 1Password.com hostnames too). So if you're having problems getting set up initially, and you use uBlock Origin or other privacy blockers, make sure you allow-list 1Password.com in your blocker(s).
One of the worst software I've ever used! Tried to setup 1P on a new MBP M1 and after 30 min I'm still not able to pull my current vaults on the new computer! I've never seen a more buggy system, no clear path to pull in existing vaults!! Will cancel my subscription immediately! Not worth a penny!
I cannot believe they managed to mess-up something that was already a barely working piece of **. Now when I press <enter> it opens a new tab with the url, and still doesn't fill the password up.
Shockingly bad. Most of the time the single button to start the service does nothing. On the rare occasion that it actually works, filling fields doesn't. Clicking a suggested password does nothing.
For some reason after I update a password in 1password, it doesn't reflect and sometimes I need to remove the extension and add it back to get it use the latest password.
I absolutely love 1password
It's sad when you have to downgrade a software. 1p7 is still great, 1p8 for win is good. But something is completely broken with 1p8 on mac. Random autofill issues, pop up asking me to use mouse/trackpad and press an icon, then press into form and try again? Sad.. Good that 1password 7 is still here and doing great.
Literally doesn't work. I try to sign in and it keeps loading forever.
I installed the latest "1Password 8" on MacOS and I hate it. Behind the new fancy face I can see completely unusable product. All the integration flows that worked well with v7 no longer work with v8. For example, in Brave browser I used to be able to hit the global shortcut and type in the name of some stored website to see it opened in the browser with login page (whatever URL was saved) details filled in. If, for some reason, I saved a wrong page URL, I could navigate to the correct one (login) and still use shortcut to fill in the the details -- nothing like that work with v8. Looking forward to find a way to re-install v7.
Super security and usefull. Thank you for this amazing product!
It is non-functional, it just says "open 1password" that does nothing.
Just signed up and ended up cancelling my subscription an hour later due to how unreliable the chrome extension is. Also being required to sign in with your secret key across devices... what... yea let me just put this secret key somewhere insecure that I can copy & paste... This blows my mind.
Does not work
This team has gone a long way, but over the years I've seen one thing stand out and shine here more than anywhere else. They care. Thank you so much for an amazing product!
Stop working and have contacted support and no response
Just says "Open 1Password" in Chrome extension - useless.
The new update is broken. Always saying open 1password but nothing happens. Please fix.
Picks and chooses when it wants to save your passwords, only works half the time. Chromes system is much better there is no reason to use this junk.
Please add an option to increase the window size - or if you can't make flexible resizing, make it always 50% of the screen horizontally and 100% of the available screen space vertically. The older 1Password extension for Mac allowed resizing. The new one is stuck at a very small size with oversized fonts, only a few items visible, and they don't fit horizontally with elision dots next to every item.
Never auto-syncs with any tab? So I have to manually insert. Today isn't working at all.
Useless as it will not open in Chrome
