Can you add more? Vudu, Movies Anywhere, Apple TV, etc.
Instead of actually zooming in it (to get rid of backed in black bars) stretches the video horizontally. Meaning now you have black bars top and bottom plus everything is stretched.
perfect
Perfect
This is the only extension that works for me anyways hands down best one download it
YouTube shorts on Chrome Version 110.0.5481.178 and above is completely unusable. The entire page refuses to load.
Breaks YouTube Shorts if you middle-click the short to open it in a new tab from the main YouTube page. It just leaves a black video window with an eternal buffering icon.
Works great. No more black bars on 21:9 movies on Youtube!! ?
Working as expected.
Won't work on youtube anymore. Please fix it.
To fix what chrome update broke for Opera user, do the same; 1. Go to opera://flags/#use-angle 2. Under "Choose Angle Graphics Backend" select OpenGL
To fix what chrome update broke 1. Go to chrome://flags/#use-angle 2. Under "Choose Angle Graphics Backend" select D3D11
Latest Chrome update broke it but AWESOME AUTHOR found a workaround to get it working again! -- From his post (reformatted): 1. Go to chrome://flags/#use-angle 2. Under "Choose Angle Graphics Backend" select either D3D9 or OpenGL, (not Default) Whew!
Stretching instead of zooming. It was ok before but now not
It was very very very good before, now its just stretching the frame no cropping in so it looks worst please fix it make it work as before <3
Used to work excellently! Now the icon no longer appears on YouTube, and using the keyboard shortcut in full screen just stretches the video, rather than cropping in.
it was good then thay change it from zooming to streching the video
no longer works, idk what changed or if they updated it. tried zooming on but it now only stretches the horizontaly, leaving black bars vertically
Great!
REMOVE this extension. It now opens up a random advertisement in a new tab on installation. One I got went to guroshied - which is a known VIRUS. Shame, as the extension worked nicely. REPORTED.
I've tried about a dozen different ones and this one is the only one that just works, even adds buttons to the players so you don't have to faff with keyboard shortcuts or blindly tune the zoom. It just works, amazing!
how do I make it work
doesnt work for me on movie sites like fmoives, hurawatch etc.. doesnt wor on other sites even the hotkeys
im just loving it..???
hey how can i use zoom to fill in other websites pleaseee show me.
Just simply perfect. I have not experienced any security related issues as few comments have noted that.
Please add 16:10 aspect ratio
Work perfectly on my 21:9. Thank you so much.
Wish you would port this to Firefox as well, best ultrawide plugin hands down. Anyone complaining about the adware, you can disable that in the "Support the developer" page on the popup. It SHOULD be opt in, but at least you can disable it.
Great extension. Do you plan to add it also on other browsers
Works like a charm for the 21:9 monitor. So far, this is the best one which I have used. (Sept 2022)
This app is now adware. Redirects Google searches through emjcd and mtusrede. The Adgoal integration needs to be opt in, not opt out. Making it default is unethical. I signed up for a extension which makes videos larger, not one which tracks my purchases. Justify it all you want Gabriel, this is completely unacceptable and dishonest. It's obvious you're just trying to make a quick buck. "Adgoal doesn't affect any third party websites." lol. Try make a google search for something on Garmin.com. You just get redirected to the homepage making the entire website unusable. Disappointing. Have reported to Google (not that they will do anything) and highly recommend everyone uninstalls this ASAP until Gabriel wakes up to his own dishonesty.
@teel0ck
Just learned that this extension will hijack your google search results and try to send you to some malware spam site. I was wondering why my Malwarebytes was blocking me when I tried to click on Microsoft links.
I love the idea, but automatically it cuts off more than necessary. At least on YouTube in certain cases.
It just works. Perfect.
Works on all the apps/sites listed. Still doesn't work with Hulu. Checked out the reviews to learn whether it works with Hulu and now I'm more concerned with all the comments about Malware and Adware...
SPYWARE. Whenever I click on a google search result it attempts to redirect me through Rakuten linkshare. Who knows what else it is doing.
I absolutely love it! ❤ Great, helpful extension which is really easy to use. Works well for me with Netflix and YouTube. Highly recommend, thanks!
Malware, app updated to now track you, and give additional ads
Not technically malware, but adware. It has access to read and write all data on websites you visit. This extension is so useful and works the best out of every other ultra-wide extension, but it is scammy. It redirects all your google searches to https://www.adgoal.de/ and other affiliate ad websites, so they get commission from any sales made from vendors. PLUS they accept paypal donations. If they were to remove the malware feature and only accepted paypal donos, this would be a much more respectable utility. It is unfortunate that such a useful and helpful tool had to be tainted with greed. DO NOT DOWNLOAD unless you understand what they're using with your data.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS!!! EXTENSION CONTAINS MALWARE AND ADWARE, IT WILL REPEATEDLY REDIRECT YOU FROM SITES YOU CLICK ON (TYPICALLY ON GOOGLE SEARCHES) TO SCAM AD SITES LIKE OJRQ.NET. I ended up wasting hours searching for a virus and turning on and off extensions, eventually I found this sneaky heap of sh t was the culprit. Conveniently everything is back to normal once removed. To whichever desperate, immoral individual made this, I feel sorry for you. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS!!! EXTENSION CONTAINS MALWARE AND ADWARE! PLEASE REPORT THIS TO GOOGLE.
Hijacks google search results to go through mtusrede.de and other spam ad-replacer sites.
I don't have an Ultrawide monitor but I do have a few 4:3 monitors and I'm one of the people who HATE black bars more than stretching. Sure, my monitors are new enough to support widescreen resolutions (stretching them to 4:3) but this extension works seamlessly across all my monitors. ?
This extension comes with malware and attempts to redirect you.
Works great on my 32:9 monitor. I can now remove the borders on videos and have it fill the monitor without stretching the video.
This extension is now hijacking Google.com search and is redirecting results to places like ad.admitad.com and track.flexlinkspro.com. DO NOT INSTALL.
It does what is says.
This extension was flagged for containing Malware on the Microsoft Edge store. Since this extensions has access to read and write all data on all websites I assume it would be easy to do so. Please clarify this Malware accusation.
This extension used to be great, but now is malware. It redirects and hijacks links, sending them to https://mtusrede.de/redir/clickGate.php? Sad to see it go.
Used it for Stan on a 21:9 monitor, worked perfect, thanks!
It works great! So far tested with Prime and YouTube. Best one I've used so far.
Hi there. I love this extension, however the button appears MASSIVE now after using it for about 2 weeks. Not sure why.
New update is very bad. please bring back old option to use f9 to expand the video.
This should honestly be a standard feature for anyone, doesn't matter if you have an ultrawide monitor or not, it works on any application, even cropping in 18:9 videos to 16:9 on my laptop. It's the perfect extension.
ganggang
It's not working on Netflix unfortunately, I tried on Youtube and apparently it's fine there but Netflix was my focus when I downloaded it and it doesn't work.
Overall, very nice. But DOESN'T WORK on Hulu. I use Chrome on Windows 10. Any insight to why it doesn't work? Or recommendation?
This does NOT change aspect ratio. It literally zooms the image and cuts off the top and bottom. You lose about 1/6th or so of the total image. While it allows you to fill the screen, it does so by zooming and cropping, not changing the aspect ratio. These are 2 VERY different things, so the overview might not say what you think. Might be typo but don't expect it to maintain the full image.
Doesn't work on other websites.
It just works. Excellent addon for ultra-wide monitor
As of Nov 3, 2021, it does not work on Amazon Prime Video :(
Thank God this exists, where have you been all this time.
not works on youtube does not remove black bars fix this bug
Perfect for 4:3 screen playing 16:9 videos that only contains 4:3 content (e.g. stupidly uploaded old 4:3 music videos that's in 16:9 such as Every Breath You Take by The Police). It used to have black bars in all 4 directions. but now I can enjoy the full screen for all its glory,
It was okay for me. However, sometimes in certain videos, if you zoom it, it becomes weirdly stretched and wide.
Press F9 and fix the silly black bars for the video to fill my ultrawide monitor! The exact fix I needed!
Just got an ultrawide monitor and was pretty upset when i saw the bars. For movies, i think its best to just download them (bye bye amazon prime and netflix). VLC player for example has 2.35:1, 2.39:1 aspect ratios which work like a charm. For youtube however, this is a life-saver!
Awesome! It just works as simple as on smartphone! I love it!
idk what to do
Doesn't work on amazon!
Works well so far
i it is not not zooming when we make full screen \
Awesome realisation of the idea of stretching the video for ultra wide screens. Especially I like the additional button on YouTube! It does solve an important problem for 21:9 ration monitor owners. You might add some functionality in further updates, however in my case it is already a must-have extension.
Works like a charm.
works well on most sites. hbomax zooms but its off center and pushes the focus off the screen tho
Awesome! I had several wide screen extensions (ultrawidify, disney widescreen etc) that worked brilliantly for a while, but over the last few months they seemed to just start stretching horizontally and warping the image (leaving black bars at top and bottom) no matter what i did, none of them seemed to be working like they used to. Just tried this extension and I'm back to full widescreening again. many thanks!
Finally a practical ultrawide extension.
Unusable on MS Edge because the F9 hotkey, which is the only option, conflicts with the browser's native reader utility. The option to change the hotkey should be a no-brainer, but these developers didn't include it.
Simple program that works well.
i do love this extension but it seems its not working for me i am on 16:9 monitor 2K zoom to fill option in YouTube or even F9 not working if i quite youtube from full screen and use that fill icon it works in window mode....
Removes the black bars perfectly for me but I do loose part of the top and bottom of my screen, so most of the time I cannot read captions with this enabled, for things like anime this could be an issue. I wish they will add a feature where you can customize the sizing.
works beautifully, better than the other ones because the last one I tried wouldn't work on fullscreen for youtube
it doesnt work at all
THY BLESSING BE ON OUR SCREENS !
Just what I was looking for, Thank you so much.
Just click on the extension button on the right hand side of the search bar or set it up to use F9(I have to push it two times) and it will fill the screen. Then if you decide that you don't want full screen click it again or push F9 and then it will go back to its original setting. Works great!
This has stopped working for me. Both F9 and the icon in the youtube player don't work
This is a very cool and awesome app. I've been using it for a while now, and while I think it's very cool app and has potential, I can only give it 3 stars. The one functionality that would make this a 5 star app is to have an option in the settings to set your preferred aspect ratio or the f9 key just cycle through multiple zooms until you found one that fits your monitor. I use a 32:9 aspect ratio monitor and the single zoom option zooms in way too much where videos are unwatchable with this app on my monitors default resolution since it will cause it to fill the screen to the point where you loose more than just the black bars a the top or bottom. I have to switch my monitor to 3440x1440 resolution first every time I want to watch a YouTube video or something to be able to take advantage of this app on my monitor which is rather annoying. If this app had an option to choose zoom percent or aspect ration it would be a solid 5 stars.
It worked perfectly, I loved it!
This extension is extremely useful for 21:9 monitors. I began noticing that many music videos are actually formatted in 21:9 but with hard-coded black bars in them... This app makes them display without wasting any screen real estate. It's cool that they added an option to toggle using F9 too. My only complaint is... there should be an option to either leaving it on in between youtube videos, or if that isn't allowed (I have no knowledge of modern web coding...) then just make it so it detects the change and reactivates automatically (and add a toggle button for that option while we're at it...) !!! If this is added, I'll change my rating to 5-star. It's almost perfect, but the fact I have to constantly reactivate it is a major annoyance, can't quite giving it more than 4.5/5 yet. Anyway, good work!!!
does absolutely nothing
best of the best extension for my 21:9 monitor
Used to work well but after yesterday (Updated my GPU Drivers) turning on Zoom-to-Fill stretches out the video horizontally. I see that disabling hardware accel fixes this issue but that now makes frames drop at 8k and 4k resolutions when I have multiple vids running. Hope this gets resolved soon. My Specs: OS - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU- i7 8700k GPU - RTX 3090 Founders Edition Mobo - AsRock Z390 Phantom Gaming ITXac RAM - HyperX Predator RGB 32GB @3600MHz Display 1 - LG 34GP83A-B 34 Inch 21:9 Ultragear Display 2 - Dell U3417W 34 Inch 21:9 Display 3 - ASUS VX238H 23 Inch
Thanks for fixing recent issues with full screen stretched videos when hardware acceleration enabled.. Seems like its an issue with Chrome update itself.. All such extensions broken...
Hi Good extension. I would love to give 5 stars only if it could trigger automatically if there's a video with black bars? Or just trigger automatically no matter what? This could be an optional feature. Thanks
Been using this for many months now and it has been great! Recently just found out an issue, when in full screen on YouTube the video just stretches horizontally and it does not crop at all. It was not like this before. This is also happening with other extensions "Ultrawidify" and "Aspect Ratio 21:9". It works perfectly on YouTube Theater mode though. Anyone else experiencing this? edit 26/1/21 : Thank you for the reply, I was able to determine the problem. Disabled hardware acceleration in Chrome, fixed my problem instantly. But now I am dropping frames on YouTube, another problem to solve! edit 26/1/21: Hi Gabriel, I run the following: Operating System Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Matisse 7nm Technology RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1599MHz (16-18-18-38) Motherboard MSI B450M BAZOOKA PLUS (MS-7B90) (AM4) Graphics Mi Monitor (3440x1440@144Hz) DELL P2314H (1920x1080@60Hz) 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER (ZOTAC International) Thank you for the reply. EDIT 02/02/21: That did it! Many thanks to your lovely work Gabriel Mz! Working perfectly again
Had this issue on my 21:9 monitor, was sad that mad max was uploaded incorrectly on prime, this fixed it perfectly. So happy now thanks a million Currently having issues with youtube stretching now instead of filling up the screen. 2k 34" 21:9 monitor
perfect!!!
Does not work with Netflix
Best ultrawide extension I have used! Super simple toggle for ultrawide video to normal video
Honestly, phenomenal. The UI is very clean and easy to use. I use a screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, so my one request would be to have a feature that auto detects your Aspect Ratio and zooms to fill for it. (I understand this could be a lot of work.) It also does not work properly on Hulu, it instead moves the picture down and to the right.
Doesn't always work. Should have been call "ultra wide for select videos."
hey this is really well made thank you!
Perfect! Finally I can enjoy web streaming without those annoying black bars everywhere.
Works perfectly. Does wonders for watching YT on Ultrawide.
Not so great, when zoomed the heads get cuts off. Only two options zoom and zoom out.
It works on my 21:9. Thank you for making it nice and easy to make sure 21:9 content fills the screen ?
Working perfect! #ultrawideftw
I watch a lot of videos on VUDU and I was hoping that it would allow me to zoom in there but it doesn't.
can you make a option to keep the zoom as youtube plays the next video? thanks
was confused at first because i didnt know you had to go into the extension options but it did work :D
Awesome plugin. I had to give a review as thanks!
I tried a few widescreen extensions for my 21:9 (3440x1440) monitor, but they would all lose the edge-to-edge video appearance the moment you took YouTube into fullscreen mode. This is the first extension I found to do this correctly. Nice work!
worked 1 day like a charm, on Primevideo.com. Then the next, despite many install/uninstall, settings and lost of my time, absolutely nothing. Worked on episode 1 of "Hanna" TV show, and stopped working the next days, for the next episodes.
Love the button add in youtube! Thanks developer! <3
It is an wonderful extension! The youtube control button is super cool and great feature. I actually use it for filling the screen of a 3:2 computer (Pixelbook Chromebook) (F9 is done by Search + Vol-down keys) Suggestion: it is desogned to zoom the video to 21:9 instead of 3:2, so although it fills the screen, it's a bit too much as the zoom for 3:2 is a little less required than that of 21:9. Could you please make an option to select either 21:9 or 3:2? that would be absolutely awesome!
